Purchased a new Legacy from Bertera Subaru of West Springfield a couple of weeks ago. The deal was done over the phone with Jason from internet sales, who gave us a great price. Alyssa from sales was super helpful there on, promptly answering all our questions. Rich from Finance walked us through the paperwork and customized the process to our situation. The entire team was well coordinated, tech-savvy and supportive. We brought in a cashier's check for the exact amount discussed online and were able to finish the paperwork within an hour. I highly recommend the sales team at Bertera Subaru for new Subaru purchases!

The process at the service center was smooth. They send a video walk through of proposed work, and the estimates and bills are very clear. We ended up trading in our car for a lease on a new one rather than extensive repairs, but feel like we got honest assessments and no pressure.

Bertera Subaru is a dealership I ve been going to for several years now. I ve always worked with the sales representative, Keith, which has been very helpful throughout the buying process of each of the cars I ve gotten in the past. Special thanks to him for helping me secure a brand new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness. Definitely the best car I ve been in yet. I plan to work with Bertera Subaru for many years in the future.

Jordan (Internet Sales) and Keith Goldsmith were very informative and answer All my many questions with patience and a complete knowledge of the car. Keith made was can at time be a difficult task into one of ease. When I picked the car up everything was as promised and he spend a good amount of time education we on all of the features of the car. Had a great time here. The people here are helpful and take the time to get to know you as well as help you. I didn't feel pressured in anyway which is a good thing. Thank you for everything. I am now a Subaru owner again and feel safer in this vehicle vs my old and unreliable Kia Soul 2014. Very happy with my purchase. Keith in sales is definitely the go to. If you are a Veteran like me and in the market for a used or new car, make sure you ask for Keith; he's extremely helpful and patient. Again, thank you!

Keith Goldsmith made the car-leasing process so easy. I had mediocre experiences at other dealerships, being quoted crazy monthly quotes but he and the Bertera team were able to find me the perfect vehicle within my budget range. He was very knowledgeable, understanding and personable throughout the entire process! I would absolutely recommend them. I am in love with the new Crosstrek.

Recently leased my 3rd vehicle from Bertera Subaru. The 5 stars is entirely due to Keith. He s the only sales person I ve ever worked with at Bertera, and will continue to be as long as he s there! I ve had an issue or two with the service department over the years, and Keith always helps out in any way he can. I briefly considered going elsewhere for this vehicle just due to my discomfort with the service department, but what happened wasn t Keith s fault, so ultimately I decided to stay. I ve received nothing but VIP treatment from him. And today s visit to the service department was pleasant as well. I m glad I stayed!

I don't recommend Bertera Subaru of West Springfield to anyone. My advisor was Alba, and she did little besides improperly write up the details for my diagnostic and read the bleak information I paid $180 for. I had explained about how the power-train had an extension a few years ago due to increased transmission valve body failures. I knew I was a little out from the extension, but that was fine because I have my own warranty. She tried to argue with me on the fact it wasn't technically a recall despite Subaru recognizing there's an increased failure rate for the 2013-2018 models. I rescheduled my appointment so I could afford the diagnostic fee.I waited for two and a half hours with no updates, no check ins. I finally asked if there was any word on the car, to which I was told it'd be done soon. About five minutes later, I finally get the report for my diagnostic. The walk-through of my car does address some repairs that rightfully needed to be brought to my attention. However, there's no information on the problem I came in for. I was parroted back the information I had told them and they had written down for pre-diagnostic. One would think that their car being in for two and a half hours means there would be a very detailed description into their findings. When I asked further about what specifically in a NEW valve body would immediately fail with less than 2K miles, I was told because it's an aftermarket part. They didn't open the valve body itself, read the resistance of the solenoid that had low resistance- no bigger troubleshooting. My personal mechanic opened up my valve body every time and told me my bad solenoid was reading exactly 8 ohms (should be 14) back before I visited Bertera. I paid $180 hoping the technology and specific knowledge on the CVT systems would mean I got further answers than "it doesn't work". My mechanic told me that information for free when rediagnosing the issue. When talking about repairs, I was quoted 2.2K for a valve body replacement. This is higher than other dealerships have quoted others for this type of repair. My total estimate was for 5K with them pushing a $100 light bulb when I outright refused that ridiculous of a price. I paid $45 at Advanced for a set of bulbs instead.I ended up deciding Steve Lewis might be worth the wait. When talking about the history of repairs and diagnostics, the advisor told me that it was something they wanted to take a much deeper look into. Immediately I was told it could be the torque converter throwing the code. They hadn't even looked at my car but the advisor there had agreed there's something deeper with the failure. I've already scheduled all of the recommended repairs by Bertera Springfield with Steve Lewis. I feel much more comfortable leaving my car with them for a few days over Bertera promise that they could do all of the repairs within a working day.I sought out Bertera because they had a quicker availability than Steve Lewis. But now I understand the longer wait is for the attention to detail and proper customer service. I wasted way too much of my day with no insight in a waiting room, and I was not the only person with that experience that day too. You're much better off waiting for Steve Lewis or even going to Bertera Subaru of Hartford if you're closer to the CT border.

Wow!!! I am so pleasantly surprised as to how easily and quickly I received my car! I purchased a 2018 Suburu Crosstrek from Starlyn, the car dealer that helped me through everything. Starlyn not only gave me excellent service, but was very knowledgeable in giving me the adequate information that I needed before making my purchase. He was polite, offered me drinks and snacks upon arrival, and just made me feel so welcomed. I also didn t feel bombarded to purchase a new car, Starlyn made me feel welcomed and was attentive, and made making a purchase that I felt comfortable making for myself so easy! His manager Rich, was also a wonderful partner that helped make the purchase smooth. They went above and beyond to give me what I needed, and even threw in new WeatherTech car mats as a kind gesture! Just an overall amazing experience there, way better than I was expecting. They helped me get a great deal for my car, and I couldn t be any happier. Thank you so much everyone at Suburu in West Springfield, MA!!! :)

June 27, 2022Went in today for a transmission problem slipping when starting off. My wife bought this 2017 Subaru Forrester new which now has 57,000 miles and also bought the extra warranty up to 100,000 miles on drivetrain when the car was purchased new. They told me it had to sit for two hours before checking the fluid on a transmission. The car did sit for two hours while I waited patiently. I was out in the backyard and the mechanic went into the car did not check the transmission fluid just took it for a ride. Came back five minutes later and pulled it into a stall he proceeded to check underneath the hood. The oil level, air filter , throttle body, brake fluid and a few other things under the hood then proceeded inside passenger door and check the air filter. He then raise the car check the tires for thread wear and the exhaust. They also told me when I came in there they would run a computer test on a transmission. Which they did not do. After all this they charged us $161.75 for a diagnostic fee. I asked the service manager about the hundred dollar deductible on the policy that we had bought from them back in 2017. He told me this only applies when they find a problem. Apparently they really didn t look into the transmission problem but look for other problems to sell me other service. Being retired mechanic I brought the vehicle home and took a picture of the throttlebody which they told me needed to be desperately cleaned. As you can see from the picture it is clean and not all gummed up as they said. Very dissatisfied! Also had to return to the dealership because some clips were missing From the engine compartment next to the throttle body.As you can see from the third picture I remove the throttle body and it is not gummed up.

When our children were very young we were looking for the best vehicle for our family's needs and a friend suggested that we get a Subaru. One day we were browsing on the lot at Bertera Subaru and the sales person said so, when do you want to schedule a weekend so you can take a Forester home to try it. We said to the sales person you can't be serious. He said absolutely, Bertera wants to make sure if you are going to spend a lot of money on a vehicle we want to make sure it fits your needs. I will always remember the weekend that we took the Forester home to try. We quickly learned how great the vehicle drove in the snow and we were sold on the vehicle.Since our original purchase with Bertera, we have bought two more Foresters from them.Through the years we have found the sales people extremely helpful and not pushy.Thank you Bertera you will always have our business!

This was our first time at Bertera Subaru. We were shopping for a Forrester and Keith Goldsmith was available to be our sales person. He was pleasant to work with, informative and answered all our questions. He took the time to explain all aspects of the car. A few weeks later we drove off with our new car. In addition to the great service we were also treated to Keith's lovely singing voice and knowledge of songs. As a retired music teacher this was definitely a plus to his fine service.

I ll rate a 1-star for this dealership.I came in not long ago(12/18/2023) and dealt with Keith. I was told several times there was no negotiating on price because stock was low. Considering that December is usually a slow month for dealerships and it s the end of the year, no amount of negotiation with these facts nor that the particular vehicle I was looking at needed a jumpstart before we could even test drive it and the few things the car needed(assessing and checking before it could be considered to sell did) not have any affect on negotiation price. It has a scuff/rust on the arm of the windshield wiper that I was told is just normal. But . It s rusting. How and why is that my problem to fix? The car isn t mine, and I won t buy it like that.I ve done extensive research on this vehicle for recalls, maintenance and an accident that Keith NEVER mentioned. AND, the vehicle has been sitting for more than a month(it was listed 40+days ago).I even called back a couple of days later(12/20/2023) with an OTD offer(of $22k OTD) to which that was also refused. I look today(12/28/2023) that the price dropped from $23,988 to $21,850(on 12/27/2023). The description says it s been dropped from $25,700. Lol! I didn t even get a phone call while any of this happened despite them knowing I liked and wanted the car.My 1-star will stand until something changes about this place. I won t be working with Keith on a sale either, ever.

The service at Bertera Subaru was amazing! Keith Goldsmith was my sales consultant and he was very helpful during the process of me finding a new car. Bought a brand new 2022 Wrx and had my A/C compressor faulty from the factory. While waiting on my vehicle for 5 weeks due to the part not being available I was given a nice loaner car 2022 Legacy XT touring.Upon picking up my Wrx which had been sitting outside for a month in the pollen season it was filthy when given back to me. I addressed this with Jeremy Redmond the service manager and he went above and beyond to ensure I was happy. He got my car detailed professionally to make it up to me and worked with subaru corporate to get me some incentives for me to use towards my new vehicle for the hassle. Excellent job with communication and recovery on the issues by Jeremy and the Bertera Subaru team! Also I read some reviews regarding Darrick Hall on here that were negative and I can tell you my experience was awesome with him as my sales person. Anytime I called or texted he got right back to me immediately, he was even in Vegas and called me back right away. I m not sure what happened with these other people but Darrick was outstanding with me and my experience. Thanks- John B.

Horrible service and treatment by the service department and even the service manager! Bought a new car from them in July 2020. Will never return! They improperly replaced a part when fixing an oil leak in the engine, leading to my car dying on me on the highway. Took nearly a week to repair. Then my car started stalling occasionally and the auto stop increased in frequency. They found nothing wrong after a basic diagnosis check ($150) and said there was nothing they could do unless it stalled while they drove it. They refused to check the battery more than once or check the wiring/connections. Months later the battery died so I got it replaced by them, assuming that was the problem. It died again the next day! I called right away and was told I could leave my car there but they didn't know when they could check it out and I couldn't get a loaner. I called the service manager to explain my frustration and try to get squeezed in ASAP. I couldn't get a word in edgewise and he was very cold and rude. He even hung up on me! He was very unprofessional. I was trying to have a civil discussion and move FORWARD but I couldn't even speak! I had already talked to Steve Lewis Subaru, who said they should have done a more thorough check, and said they'd squeeze me in ASAP. The service manager at Bertera merely insulted them when I told him that, saying they have the worst auto dealer rating in the area. I don't know where he got that, but that was inappropriate to say, even if it was true. Very immature and unprofessional. He attacked his competitor and refused to have a civil discussion with me after all the money I spent at Bertera. Then another Bertera service employee called me later that afternoon, I assume to try to keep me there, but he too was rude and refused to move forward. BTW, Steve Lewis was wonderful! They were very friendly and checked my car the day after I brought it in and provided me with a nice loaner. They had two service men check it right away and found that it was the alternator/harness and battery monitor. It was well worth the drive. I refuse to spend one more cent at Bertera!

We were pleased with the excellent quality and service at Bertera Subaru in West Springfield. Joe Bucko was the sales associate who helped us with the lease of our Subaru Outback. Joe was extremely helpful, answered all questions, and was a pleasure to deal with. Bertera gave a fair allowance for our trade-in and was competitive in their pricing for the Outback. Ashley Lewkowicz was our finance person and explained everything as we went through that process. This was by far our least stressful car buying experience. Thank you Bertera Subaru, particularly Joe and Ashley

Keith was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable about all things Subaru and did a great job explaining the differences between all the trim levels. Keith was very friendly and not pushy as well as responsive to questions. He is a great resource even after I purchased the vehicle as well.

My husband and I bought a 2020 Subaru Outback from here a couple of months ago. When we were looking at the car in the lot, Joe came out right away to talk with us. He was very personable and polite. He gave us all the information we needed to know about the vehicle. After taking a test drive, we decided to get it. Joe helped us from the beginning through to the end. Before we drove it off the lot, he showed us how to navigate the console in detail, which was very helpful. He was genuinely nice, so the whole process was very pleasant. He told us to call him if we needed anything, which made us feel very confident that we had gone to the right dealership.

UPDATE: July 2021 DO NOT RECOMMEND.The "tires for life" deal is a scam, I had my car serviced in May and not once did they mention that my tires were close to the wear bar. It failed inspection in July because the tires are at the wear bar. They also didn't give me the lug nut key for my car when I purchased it, so when I went to have my tires replaced, they couldn't get the lug nuts off. Nobody at Bertera could explain why I wasn't given the key when I purchased the car and one woman actually went so far as to suggest that maybe they were in the cup holder "have you looked there?" as though I've been driving my car for over a year and not once looked in a cup holder...TL;DR? Bertera is your best friend when they can make money off you, but as soon as they're obligated to do something that doesn't cost the customer, you're dead to them.My previous car died right after the pandemic began and I was NOT looking forward to buying a new one. After putting it off for three months, it became clear that I needed a car with air conditioning. Initially I went to a subaru dealership closer to where I live (in Amherst) but they didn't really have anything that caught my eye. I also felt like because I wasn't there to purchase a new vehicle, I wasn't a huge priority to the salespeople. I left that day feeling somewhat discouraged.I decided to check out Bertera in West Springfield with my dad the following day. I had seen a few pre-owned vehicles that fit my needs and I'd had a relatively okay experience years ago buying a car there. The minute we walked in, someone greeted us and summoned a salesman, Johnathan. He took one look at the list of cars we were interested in seeing and grabbed the keys and off we went! Overall we looked at nine different vehicles. Not once did I feel pressured to make a decision or to look at something I wasn't interested in. When I found the car that I would end up purchasing, taking it for a test drive was an easy process.Once I'd decided it was the car for me, the rest was simple. Left a small, refundable deposit, as they were going to re-do the air conditioning before I took possession. This was on a Thursday. By Monday, my car was ready to go! Two days later I was able to get the registration and the inspection (I LOVE that I didn't have to navigate the registry myself, they took care of it all) and Johnathan even threw in a set of floor mats.I was DREADING the car-buying process and was delightfully surprised by how painless Bertera made everything!

The staffing were really nice to us, they even offered food to us and things for my 3 yrs old to play and to color. They were very attentive and when I got my new car one Keith was explaining to me how to use the screen and something pretty cool things that my subaru crosstrek 2024 can do and have.

I had a very good experience purchasing a new Forester at Bertera Subaru of West Springfield. The dealership was reasonable, made sure all of my questions were answered, and keep me well informed on the expected delivery date of the car. The sales person I worked with, John Bernard, was very knowledgeable about Subarus and a pleasure to work with.

I had a remarkable experience with my salesperson, Keith. When you think of customers service, this person is the complete package. He has repeatedly made himself available with help on new vehicle accessory questions to follow up check ins. I would thoroughly recommend Keith for a salesman to anyone looking to purchase a new Subaru. I know I will return for sure! The sales manager and finance departments were smooth and easy to deal with and enhanced the experience with their personal attention to details and customer service.

I had a serious and totally unexpected car issue right outside Chicopee while returning from vacation to Western New York, and managed to limp my way to Bertera Subaru. Despite having a full schedule, they managed to get me in quickly, diagnosing and then fixing a failed transmission valve body under warranty. John was my savior that day, and great people such as Brenda and the sales staff helped keep my spirits up. There isn't a better service department anywhere.
