This is a quality business who does not cut corners or forget critical maintenance items. When they work on your car you can rest easy that the work was done properly. I have been using Pleasant Car Care for two years and have been very pleased. Having spent my entire career on the road I can tell you for sure that I know a first class service team when I see it! But the thing that will make the biggest impression on you is that they never ever say NO when you call and need an appointment ASAP. It's always YES.

The people at Pleasant Car Care were so nice and helpful! The didn t overcharge for anything and they explained every issue they found with my car, showing me photos and explaining what needed to be fixed then and what could be put off for later. Everything went so fast and the process was really smooth and easy. Highly recommend! Will be coming back again.

Pleasant car care is great. I ve been taking my car here for about 6 months and I ve brought it in many times in that time period. They provide photos of the issue which is really nice.Although they re not the cheapest car place, they offer a lot of good services like a 3 year warranty, free loaner car, and same day service in the vast majority of cases. If you want a trustworthy car place this is your place.

I have been bringing my vehicle (2016 Tacoma) here for years and have always had a great professional experience. This time I brought my vehicle in for its 80K service. The team performed an inspection of the entire vehicle free of charge and sent a detailed list, including photos and cost, for each item due for service or needing repair. From there I was able to pick what I wanted done. Unfortunately I needed some larger repairs done and Michael worked with my warranty company to confirm what was and what was not covered. Michael kept me up to date daily on the status of the repairs and supplied me with a complimentary loaner vehicle. I recommend Pleasant Car Care to anyone who asks.(Also, this place has been here since the 1930's so they must be doing something right)

They took my car in despite the fact that they were almost closing, diagnosed the issue and gave me an estimate for repair. Their pricing was honest and I could tell they weren t trying to upsell me or tell me my car needed repairs that it didn t. Many thanks to the person who took care of the quote for me (Michael?) and Ed, the shop manager. Quickest big repair I ve had in a little while.The only suggestion I can give is that if someone is busy with a customer and another customer walks in, a quick hello, I ll be with you once I take care of this is always really appreciated. No stars docked for this. Just a suggestion. Thank you for your help and timely service!!

If I could give over five stars, I would! Mike and his staff were amazing, personable, and very great to work with. Our car would not start and we immediately called Pleasant Car Care to request an appointment. They quickly arranged an appointment and kept us informed every step of the way (all the way from personally coming to jump start the car, to quickly identifying the issue and resolving it). Car issues are incredibly stressful but it's great to know that Pleasant Car Care is there to help steady the waters and are incredibly reliable! Thanks Mike and team for all of your time and support!

I have taken my car here 3 times in the past few months. I went to get my brakes/rotors replaced as well as an engine wash bay (which I do not recommend any customers to get here- there was still debris after the wash left in various spots in the engine bay). The following day my car was idling at 300+ RPM. The technicians pressured washed my engine bay and must have dislodged a key component. I come to find out that the Mass Airflow Sensor was dislodged. I got my car towed back to Pleasant Car Care just a few days after they were working on the engine bay. I explained to one of the workers that the car was not driven since the engine bay was pressured washed and they must have dislodged it and asked for them to fix their mistake. Of course they denied that and to their credit they were able to replace the component. Insane up-charge on the part that isnt expensive as well as insane labor for a 5 minute job that cost near $1000. Could have bought the part and replaced myself for $100 in 5 minutes. I have 4 vehicles I routinely service so they lost a customer for life that would have spent tens of thousands over the next few years on any maintenance or emergency repairs. Too many other mechanics nearby that all charge similar prices to ever come here again for substandard work and terrible customer service. The owner should have comped the mistake their techs made.

This auto shop sends updates to your phone with a clear description of the issues they find, supplemented with photo and video evidence from your vehicle. I was very pleased with this. They were able to complete a catalytic converter replacement in less than a days notice. Very satisfied with the experience and would recommend.

Thank you for your hard work and also for great job on handling that customer s issue quickly Each time I called your shop, You also showed a positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for customers , I am appreciated ..You also showed excellent product knowledge during the call , and I definitely feel confident in purchase . My Chevy Cobalt 2010 is running fine now no more engine warning light on . The brake light switch and the Engine coolant thermostat are working fine Thanks again

The driver window was not working normally. I paid 400$ ( new item purchase & labor) but the window is still in the same condition. I went back again for them to check on it but same result. And they said that s the best they can do .idk why I paid the 400$. I need to find a new place for my car maintenance.UPDATE:ED the manager contacted me directly after the review and asked me to come back to have another look. They changed the defaulted part on the warranty ( I did not pay anything) and now the window is working perfectly.Thank you ED & pleasant care care team for the prompt response and customer care you provided.

Excellent service! I had to stop by this weekend, since my car had been having issues since MLK day. Due to some parts not being available at the time, my car needed to stay in the shop for a couple days. During this time, they kept me updated on my car and lent me a loaner vehicle to use for no extra cost. This was extremely helpful, since my job is inaccessible by the T. When I picked up my car, I was surprised to see it cleaner and the dying battery in my key fob changed as well. They made the experience as seamless as possible and overall exceeded my expectations.

On my way to Newton I spotted Pleasant CarCare. Since one of my tires looked scraped I thought it should be checked. Right away Ed came out to take a look. He convinced me it could be dangerous. A day later I had a new tire and battery. I feel safe in my car again. Thanks to Pleasant Car Care.

Once again, Pleasant Car Care was instantly available for me when I needed them. I needed a Prius battery for important appointments, dropped off the car in the evening, (was met like an old friend), and picked upthe car the next morning.(My daughter was driving me, but as it turned out they offered to drive me.!)

10+ Rating for the experience I had at Pleasant Car Care at the Watertown shop. My brakes were clearly sounding problematic over weekend and I left a msg at PCC at 6a Monday and got a call back at 6:30a from Ed, Mgr there saying I could bring my Honda 2010 CRV right in. The team diagnosed my brake issues and texted me pics and videos of the brake view and explained what the repair would include. Follow up call with Ed re: pricing. In their standard review they also found a radiator leak and sent pics and detail of what they would do. Offered me a loaner car but was not necessary. Picked up car 9a Tuesday morn and it sounds and is running fantastic. I will always go back there. Ed was very pleasant and also offered knowledge re: 2010 Honda CRVs. Highly recommend and thank you Ed and team!

Ed and the team in Watertown go way beyond normal expectations to make sure cars are running at their best. Very impressed with Ed's willingness to do research on warranties, explain everything thoroughly, and make the car repair process as smooth as it can be. Very impressive.

If you don t know your car they will scam you!I just had my car fully inspected in North Carolina 2 weeks ago. The vehicle was then shipped on a carrier here and I took it right to get inspected. I decided to not tell them how I had a full car checkup and also the inspection from my local shop who s taken care of my family for years. JUST CURIOUS TO SEE WHAT THEYD FIND WRONG! Of course!!! They send me a picture telling me my rear brake pads are dangerously thin with red calipers on the car. My car doesn t even have red calipers so whose car is that?! I have a physical form from my shop in NC where they tell me the brakes are in great shape. They think because some kid in a nice car comes to give them business they ll just scam him. Just go somewhere else. I went to these guys for the great review and star ratings but what a scam

I received a coupon in the mail so I decided to get a free diagnostic at Pleasant Car Care. Mike was very knowledgeable and showed me exactly what was needed to be fixed. My car drives smoothly now. They didn t try to oversell me. I highly recommend them!

Great team and very good prices! Took my car for oil and rotation and they let me know that the tires were dangerously terrible. They replaced them within a day and even did a whole inspection for other issues for free. With the new tires the car feels like a whole new car. Thank you!

The team at Pleasant Car Care was so helpful. I had an emergency break issue, they look at my car right there and topped off my break fluid without even charging me, just to be helpful. I returned to have them service my car, they once again help me with the best device and look for the most cost efficient solution. They staff there are so pleasant to work with, truly living up to their name. I would highly recommend them! Look for Michael!

Beware of this garage! My young friend took her car here and they charged her for $1100 of mechanical work. After it was complete they told her she needed to replace her brakes and that would cost her $1200. We encouraged her to get a second opinion. She then took her car to our trusted mechanic who looked at it closely and told her she did not need new brakes and suggested she had at least 1000 miles more that she could drive without needing to replace the brakes or do any other major mechanical work. Of course now we are also questioning whether the original $1100 of work was truly necessary. I would be very careful and be sure to get a second opinion given our experience and the other we have read about this place.

Excellent service. I was impressed that they were able to take my car the afternoon I called, diagnosed an emission system check engine code properly which requires a smoke test, and repaired the problem without throwing parts at it as some shops will do. They found brake wear issues in a standard safety check but provided texts with link to video and photos of the problem areas. They were able to ease the pain a bit on the cost as I was a new customer. The communication all through the process was excellent with estimates given and updates. They also followed up a few days after the service with call and text. My guess is the hourly shop rate is probably on the higher end of the range for this area, but you get what you pay for.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Auto brake repair, Tire rotations, Vehicle Inspection, Auto emissions testing

I really wanted to like Pleasant Car Care, but unfortunately have been disappointed. when I moved to the area, I brought my car here for a routine oil change -- it was fine. But what was odd was that my check engine light came on much sooner after getting an oil change here than it normally would.I brought it back for another oil change, and other issues I was having with my car. They told me I needed a new axel shaft, which I had just had replaced two summers prior, so I thought that couldn't be right. Then I was told I needed to replace the front brake pads, calipers & rotors to fix the problem. THEN they told me I needed to replace the air cabin filter. Fine. They confidently assured me that the problem was solved!Wrong. The same exact problem persisted. I brought the car back and was then told I needed to replace the master cylinder, and that the brake pads heated together, so those (along with the rotors & calipers) needed to be replaced AGAIN, just two weeks after being replaced. Those were under warranty, so I was not charged. However, at the end of all this, I spent $3,400... and guess what? The problem STILL is not fixed!These people will tell you there are 1,000 things wrong with your car and then charge you an obscene amount. For what???I'm giving this two stars because they are genuinely nice, but they rip you off. I will be calling to request that my car be repaired for free (even though they are either negligent or uninformed) because I cannot afford to continue paying a ridiculous amount of money at this repair shop or another to have my car fixed. It should have been fixed the first time, shame on them. Avoid if you can.

Very professional outfit. Was not expecting this. Went in to have overall check for free off mailer sent to my addr. Turns out to be very busy place.Made needed repairs in timely manner. Offered loaner car & ride home, which I took ride home. Anyway, would recommend Pleasant Car Care to anyone. Located just off Watertown Sq. Convenient.

WORST MECHANICS EVERRRRR ,They are super OVER priced DON'T come here, & because I'm a WOMAN people take advantage of me & they tried charge me $500 for 2 front brakes & 1 calipers, come find out take it somewhere else that the breaks & calipers are PERFECT, so not only over priced but THEY ARE LIARS & they just want take people's money for no reason, I brought my BMW their too I bet they screwed me on that too I spent almost 3,800 when I bet only costs like 2000-2500 , they aren't HONEST at all , I thought at first they was but now I WON'T ever bring ANY of my cars to them anymore!!! ( Bring your car to MALS service center in Lexington)they are HONEST & TRUSTWORTHY & they do a great job HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!!!

I had a poping sound in my front end. The team diagnosed the issue showed me the possible issues and gave me options. Once the work was done the vehicle drove better than I bought it 8 years ago. It's 12 years old and has 125K miles on it and I couldn't be happier.

Very speedy and courteous work! I moved to Watertown recently and needed a new local mechanic - Pleasant Car Care had glowing reviews especially from solo women, so I figured I would give it a shot. The work that needed to be done wasn t too out of the ordinary, and the price was fair. Service was very fast and they kept me updated through the whole process - they also took the time to do a visual inspection and identified two issues I wasn t aware of (yet). That being said, they were not pushy with those extra concerns and were very understanding when I said I wanted to have my previous mechanic who has worked on my car for years take a look. As a solo woman, having your car worked on can be very nerve wracking - worrying about being overcharged, taken advantage of or being treated like you don t understand. I didn t feel like that at all, quite the opposite actually. Will definitely be back!Service: Electrical
