Absolutely the best place to take your car to. They really make sure everything is up to par and Joe is one of the most accommodating people I've ever met- they aren't open on Saturdays but he made arrangements and had someone at the shop on a Saturday morning so I could drop my car off- and just SO kind! 100% recommend to anyone :)

BWT HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Great to work with! They performed a diagnostic on a shuddering truck recently purchased. They are well experienced technicians from the recents I had from them. Truck had to be repaired from dealer due to Lemon law. But they even made it easy rushing in traffic to try to make a payment to release truck conveniently did it all over phone and didn t even have to stop by. Everything you've heard about Joe and his business is totally true, whether it be from Yelp or Google Reviews!I first went to his shop in 2016 for a rebuilt transmission on a Honda Odyssey, and last week I brought my Volkswagen in for work. Once again, I left feeling confident in the quality of the work. This guy is legit - he's honest, transparent, and just really good at what he does. In 2016 he took the time to answer all my questions and show me the inside of a transmission and the parts he uses. He goes above and beyond for his customers and really knows his stuff.I am particularly impressed with how Joe has established his car care business on the foundation of honesty. From my previous experiences, I have found that achieving this level of honesty is not always a common occurrence. However, Joe has demonstrated an ability to make honesty work in his favor, and customers have taken note of it, resulting in their appreciation and loyalty. It's a pretty cool and thoughtful business strategy.It was his father's shop (or may still be I'm not sure) prior to him managing it and I'm guessing his father was a pretty good guy too. It's nice to find these neighborhood owner/operated shops that do amazing work!Their name is Belmont Transmission but he and his staff can handle anything you throw their way that has to do with cars. I went initially for a transmission issue but afterward was delighted to know they could do it all. Joe and his team were fantastic to work with! Flexible drop-off and pick-up, pricing for the transmission was way better than other local shops, and he worked with me on timing of payment. A small Christmas miracle running into the guys at Belmont Watertown Transmissions! After visiting 3 tire places for an emergency repair of what was likely a nail or some kind of puncture in my tire, they came to my rescue. All tire places were so booked they couldn't assist with my tire for another 1-2 days. I was only in town for work with a full day scheduled ahead, and was debating my options. The gentleman at Belmont Transmissions said they could help and could take a look at it right away. Sure enough they took the car right in, and found a razor blade in the tire tread! They patched it up quickly, filled all the tires, and I was good to go. It held up for a full day of visits in Boston, and a 2hr drive home. Still holding fine today as well. They helped restore my faith in honest, first-rate tradesmen (and people) in the world. I would recommend them highly for any car service needed! THANK YOU!

I have been to this shop twice and have been so impressed! They definitely will have my business as long as I am living around here. Joe (the owner) is so friendly and professional and so reassuring to someone who knows next to nothing about cars, like me. He will call before he does anything to make sure you are fully aware of what they will be doing, why they are doing it, and exactly what it will cost. He will also give really honest opinions on what does and doesn t need to be done right then which has helped save me money. This is the best car shop I have ever been to. Honest guy, knows exactly what he is doing and doesn't try to rip you off your money. Do not think it twice and if you have car problems take it here 100% recomended.

After getting my transmission fixed here I gotta say it was definitely worth the long drive from Brockton. I'm making this place my primary mechanic! Communication and turn-around time was faaaar better here than at AAMCO's or any other big shady franchise. Trust the mom and pop shops for their great service!Thanks Joe and the gentleman that worked on my car! I'm coming to you again, this time for my suspension!

Highly recommend!I can't recommend this place enough! If you're looking for a mechanic you can trust this is it. I brought my truck to the dealership with a transmission issue where they charged me $900 for diagnostic just to tell me they didn't know what was wrong (seriously). Joe had it pretty well sorted out over the phone based on the codes and symptoms. He was very transparent with the cost and really went the extra mile with service and communication. My truck was sorted out for the price and on the schedule we discussed.I will use this garage again and I have and will recommend to a friend.Thanks again!

I've been having my car repaired here for years now. I always receive fast and professional service at a fair price. I just had engine mounts replaced on my Mercedes. The techs here did an awesome job. I fully trust the quality of their work.

I first went to Belmont-Watertown Transmission in August 2018 for a pretty major transmission repair, and I've been doing all my repairs and regular maintenance there ever since. I am a mechanical engineer working in the automotive industry and I also work on my own cars and motorcycles, so I am knowledgeable enough to understand what a technician is talking about when they describe a problem with my car. Every time I have gone to Belmont-Watertown Transmission, Joe Arria and his team have been transparent, straight-forward, and honest with me. I have now had them do a transmission rebuild, fix belt noises, do several oil changes and tire rotations, and do a full front brake job (pads and rotors). Their work has all been top-notch.I've been to several different shops in the past, and I always enjoy going to see Joe because I trust him and his team with my vehicles. Joe and his technicians are world-class, and really nice, friendly people as well. I've been to other shops where they try to rush me out as quickly as possible, but Joe and his techs are always willing to take the time to explain what's wrong with my car and answer all of my questions. I have gotten to know Joe and his team pretty well over the past few months, and I really admire how they do business. When I walk into the shop, everyone seems happy and proud to be working there, which tells me that Joe treats his employees as well as he treats his customers. I can't say enough good things about this shop and I really enjoy going there. I highly recommend Belmont-Watertown Transmission for all types of car repairs.

I brought my car in because the transmission light was on. Got a call from the owner who took it upon himself to call to check my warranty (I assumed my warranty was up). Turned out it expired 18 days from then, so he called the dealership and gave them my vin number and I was able to get it in no problem. They also reset my oil light when the other mechanics I went to forgot to do it, free of charge.I feel like a company with less integrity would have just done the work instead of doing that for me. They proved themselves trustworthy and I will definitely go back!Service: Transmission

I have been going to Belmont Watertown Transmission and Auto Repair for several years now and I could not be happier with the service I receive. Joe and all of the guys are great! The prices are fair and I always know when I go that the work performed will be top notch. My car is pretty old (I don t drive much, so I m keeping it until it stops running :). I m so grateful I found these excellent mechanics! Highly recommend.

Joe was awesome !! He knows his stuff. My dealer (Watertown Ford) referred me to him. He handles a lot of over flow. I brought my truck into three dif people and they couldn't figure it out... Joe knew right away. He was able to identify the problem quick, get the parts and had it ready that afternoon... $2500 later (ouch) I am back on the road. The part was wicked expensive ($1600) there were some other parts but his labor rates were $105... that's a lot cheaper than most and these transmission guys are highly specialized and do a lot of heavy lifting!!! Highly recommend Joe and his shop. BTW, he is the son of the original owner... he grew up in the business, he's a family man, a local and I like all of that!

Great service, fast work, and decent prices. Everything you want and expect from a service center. Joe was extremely helpful with helping me understand the issues with my vehicle and how to address them without trying to soak me for money. Very honest business! They do it all, breaks, shocks, motors, everything. Joe and his team do and excellent job. I brought my Acura too Joe when I was having transmission problems. Most shops would try to sell you a whole new transmission. Joe and his team diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in a few hours. Very knowledgeable and fair. They won't try to sell you work you don't need. These guys take pride in their work. I will never bring my cars anywhere else.

I strongly recommend Belmont Watertown Transmission for small jobs, and especially for large complex jobs.Joe, at Belmont Watertown Transmission (BWT) was able to diagnose, facilitate all the information to my insurance company, and fix my transmission. Insurance coverage was a huge challenge, and Joe took 100% care of it.I tried 2 other shops prior to BWT, Mirak Auto & Lexington Toyota. Neither shop was able to diagnose the issue AND facilitate insurance coverage of the $7,000 repair. One shop actually told me that they weren't interested in fixing it because the insurance company is pain in the a$$.Joe also worked fast. Joe was responsive to my urgency, and got the job done 2 days ahead of schedule.Please give Joe and his team an opportunity to help you as they helped me.Service: Transmission

Joe was very helpful in getting my car back to working order. I called on a snowy day and he was able to take my car right away to check it out. He told me it might take a day to get a diagnostic but then called me back within a few hours with both a diagnosis of the issue and the quoted price.Within another few hours, the car was ready for me to drive away. He was very communicative and kept me updated, which I appreciated. Joe also explained what was causing the issue and why the replacement part solved the problem.One thing - this shop isn't the gas station next door - park on Belmont Street and look for the entrance.

This shop upgraded my Audi S4 after a timing chain going and bent valves. This is not typical work done to a vehicle but Joe made an exception. We upgraded about $12,000 worth of parts including a kevlar timing belt(culprit) As well as but not limited to; 034 motorsports K04 turbo's upgrade kit, RS4 clucth W/ LW flywheel, front mount intercooler system, rear sway bar and much more.....Again not a typical job and Joe was extremely patient with me and was able to quickly remedy any misunderstandings in a professional and reasonable manner, always having the motive of still retaining a customer in the process.Murat was my mechanic, former audi foreman and shop owner. Amazing mechanic! Extremely knowledgeable with his craft. From my long experience with this shop throughout this 6 month process, I got to interact with most, if not all of the mechanics. They were all very professional and extremely experienced in their area! With time to give explanations to a novice.I would reccomend this shop for any repair you need. They specialize in transmissions obviously, but they are a full service shop.Next repair give them a shot... don't be afraid to find a reliable mechanic. Took me years!! Thanks again guys!

I had my 2008 Legacy serviced by an official Subaru dealership a about month ago and this turned out to be a huge mistake. One month after the routine maintenance, while I was driving back from work, I detected the overwhelming odor of something burning. It smelled synthetic, like burning plastic or wiring. I thought this was something outside at first, but as I drove down the road the smell only became stronger. When a thin layer of white smoke started coming from my hood I began to panic.I pulled over immediately and tried to locate a good mechanic in the area. I saw that Belmont Watertown Transmission came highly reviewed here. I called and got through to somebody right away. I was told they were closed, but there was a lot out back where I could leave my car and it would be worked on in the morning. Three hours and a $125 tow later, I d done just that. The next day they called and let me know what had happened. The Subaru dealership had tightened a part of my oil tank to the point of absurdity and it was leaking fluid into the engine before burning rapidly up. Had this not been caught sooner, irreparable damage could have been to my engine. They said they d give me a new oil change and fix the part. It would be ready for me the next morning, or even that night if I could get out of work early enough.The cost for this quick, efficient, and painless process? $58. Less than half the price of the tow I used to get it there. In fact, less than half the price of the terrible work Subaru did on one of its own vehicles for a customer of theirs. This place is highly reviewed for a reason and I would strongly advise you get serviced here.

Joe and company did a clutch replacement on my '07 BMW X3 for about $1,000 less than the estimate from my independant shop (YMMV :) ). Turn around was a bit delayed due to a 48-hour power outage in the neighborhood, but with communication and overnighting a needed part, he delivered when agreed. He discussed what parts may be needed, may not be needed so I was aware of risks in the future (e.g., dual mass flywheel). As best I can tell, the crew did great work and I'd be glad to see BWT again for other repairs.

I had transmission issues. He took my car for a day and looked it over really well. Told me how much it would be and said it may not be worth replacing based on how much my car is worth. Told me to check the clutch as well, before committing to change the transmission. Never asked for a dime. Good guy.

Best place to bring your car. The guys that work here are very good mechanics and every time I have issues I ALWAYS bring my car here. Best place to find good people for the right price, And it's hard these days when everyone else thinks of job security before workmanship unfortunately. definitely recommend this place without a doubt.

Customer service was good, unfortunately they could fix my car's problem. Note the garage itself is mostly underground and easy to miss driving by on the street.
