"The Steamship Authority Terminal in Woods Hole exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff provided exemplary service, ensuring a smooth and efficient boarding process for our trip to Martha's Vineyard. The terminal facilities were clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located, making our journey seamless and enjoyable. Five stars for a hassle-free and memorable experience!"

The ferry is very organized. We arrived almost three hours early, and there was availability on the next ferry.I'm not sure where someone parks if they don't take their car or how expensive it is to park. The larger ferries have a restaurant and three decks. The Katama holds about 14 cars and is much smaller.

Very well organised and fairly close to 'on time'. Don't be late if you have a Reservation Time, they ain't gonna wait!!

Getting from Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard to Woods Hole. Took the freight ferry which has room for cars and passengers even though the ticket office told us twice it was a freight-only ferry. Luckily we lined up and walked on with the help of the ships crew

Steamship Authority ferry system is great. Reservation for travels with a vehicle must be made well in advance as there's limited space available for vehicles on the ferry. Kind of pricey. Traveling with a midsized car from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven is $216 RT starting in April. The bigger your vehicle, the more you'll pay.

I travel here regularly for work and the main complaint is every single time the guy at the guard shack is unbelievably rude. I of course by poor luck get the same guy every time (the guy with the nail polish), and he talks to me like I'm the biggest a hole in the world. Today I went up and asked if there was room in the standby line, he said in an extremely condescending tone "nope your reservation is at 5 come back then". My coworker was in another truck right behind me with the same ticket time and the guy let him in. Not sure what his problem is with me but every single time he's a prick.

We came over for Christmas week to visit our son & his family. We decided to stay a couple of days longer. No problem, the Steamship Authority accommodated our day change!! Thank you, SSA.

I came here to take the ferry to martha's vineyard and was happy with how easy the whole experience was. The cost for the fast trip was only $17 round trip, much less than other ferries I researched. They had a parking lot for $13 for the day and a shuttle to take people back and forth. There was plenty of signs and the process was fast and seamless. You need to wear your mask the whole trip but I felt it was reasonable.

Loved the free shuttle from Falmouth! And the quick and easy in person ticketing process. The ferry was clean and the crossing was beautiful!

Reliabkeu, safe and convenient. The last ferry we took was brand new, even a smoother ride to MV! The personnel is always very nice and helpful when you need it.

Booking is easy enough but the entire process is nails on a chalkboard. Also, why aren't there more ferries? There's never availability until 2 months out. Even in off season. Workers seem dead to the world too. Standby is never available

I experienced a strange voyage that made me feel blessed, lucky, and very happy. To my misfortune, I walked off the ship, leaving my cellphone in my chair. I reported it to one of the ship's crew and ten minutes later my phone was back in my possession."Praise the Lord" and the ship's crew.

We went over to Marthas Vineyard on the ferry, we parked our car in the parking lot. The ferry prices aren't bad at all and we had a great time!

My only issue is that the parking lot is so far from the terminal. It's great that there is ample space to park, but the wait and ride to the terminal is horrible. The good thing is that the ferries run so frequently, and it is very reasonable as far as pricing. You don't have to worry about finding a seat once on the ferry itself. There is plenty of seating.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well organized this ferry is. For our first trip to Martha s Vineyard we took a last minute trip during the week off season. It s the most enjoyable visit I have done in 3 years. The Restrooms on board is clean and big. I would take this ferry again and will stick to off season to take the car over.

My sister and I got to the Martha Ferry s ferry early to see 9:30 am to see if we could get on the ferry before our 12 Pm time. Even though we made this reservation way more than a month (maybe 2) in advance, we could not get an earlier reservation time. It was our first trip to Caps Cod and the island and we didn t know. It was suggested by the ferry port authority that we get there early and try to go standby. There were no cars other cars waiting when we got there. Despite telling the gentleman who gave us our ticket and the person inside we wanted to be in the standby line, who also called and told the gentleman, they apparently still put our car in the 12:00 PM line. When the port authority woman started putting extra cars on the ferry, they did not put us on despite being there before the other cars in what apparently was really the standby line. When my sister polity asked to go next, we were told we were not in the standby line. My sister then asked the gentleman in charge, and he said we were in the standby line, and the woman was mistaken. The woman still did not put us on and said the other gentleman was mistaken. Clearly, there is confusion when it comes to the standby lane and what really happens is the priority is for locals, as the teenagers in the car that got on clearly knew the port authority agent who was directing the lanes. They have terrible customer service as well as no one cares. So ultimately don t bother going to the ferry early. Getting on standby is not an option. Make your reservations at least 6 months in advance!

Facing many challenges. Saturday, a week ago, August 5th, was an all out zoo. So many cars you couldn't get in although we were only three blocks away. When we finally got to the booth we had missed our ferry by a few minutes. Everyone in this situation was placed on standby. Hours later.... We finally arrived two and a half hours late What can we do? We're not flying in sooo. This is apparently part of the new narrative of getting to Martha's Vineyard

Great way to get to Martha's Vineyard other then flying over fast trip only 45 min ferry ride and very reasonably priced, if your bringing your car over suggest you make a reservation in advance especially during Peak Season like May to Sept
