Was an amazing experience. Bob is accurate quick with his work and his prices are fair with out unmentioned cost added at the end.I ve been using him for 2 to 3 years to work on my Audi A7 3.0 L diesel. The job that he just did for me was almost a two week job, dealing with oil and antifreeze leaks that required the front end to come off.. He was able to take the entire front end off fix everything with the engine, put it all back together, as well as replace all the rotors and brakes for my car. When he took the front end off the amount of work that he did to this engine is amazing. the valley completely being replaced hoses, flanges everything, oil pump, oil sensors everything changed. His work was speedy. It was extremely well priced compared to the dealerships. And he always kept in contact to keep me informed. I would recommend this man for any work on Volkswagen or Audi that diesel before a speakership any day of the week!!Services: Auto engine tuning, Brakes, Oil change

Bob is a great mechanic with extensive knowledge of German made cars, and excellent communication skills. I regret nothing. I prefer to work on my cars myself but after moving across the country, i no longer had access to my lift and tools. Reluctantly, I searched for a mechanic that specialized in VW diesel engines. After seeing that Bob came highly recommended by the TDI Club and forum, I knew that I could trust my 06 VW Jetta TDI with him. I had a locked up/busted ignition switch and rack with electrical problems. Bob made quick work of the problems and willingly addressed some of the minor items that had become pet peeves. During any critical steps of the repair, he would give me a call to review progress and approvals to get used/new parts etc. I can't praise this man enough.Services: Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

I was referred to Bob by a mechanic friend of my mother's after being given a ridiculous quote by Coastal Volkswagen. I did not know exactly what was wrong with my engine, besides that something was wrong with the timing chain and it had caused damage in other areas as well. Within a reasonable amount of time for the amount of work done, Bob diagnosed and repaired my car, explaining exactly what was wrong and what he was doing every step of the way. By the time everything was done, he'd fixed my engine and more for less than HALF of what Coastal had quoted me for. I wouldn't recommend another Volkswagen mechanic over Bob!Services: Engine repair, Brakes

I have an 07 Audi A4, which I absolutely love, but was having issues with the turbo and went to several mechanic shops which said it was unfixable. However, Dr. Volks was able to fix it and at a very reasonable price and now it runs very smoothly. Very happy with the service and will most certainly be going back if I have any more trouble. Our Touareg had many mysterious ailments and difficulty diagnosing how or where to even attempt repair. Vehicle was in "limp mode" when towed to Bob. He never quit on it despite its stubborn unwillingness to cooperate. Dr.Volks ultimately found several issues including water damaged wiring under drivers side, which was very meticulous and fine tuned an engine that had idled wildly for quite some time. Very pleased with his service, his knowledge and expertise on VW is unmatched. Locally we are lucky to have him. Thank you!Service: Auto engine tuning

I have had multiple bad experiences with dealership order writers over the years. It is very frustrating when you as a customer know more than they do and they still try to convince you that you need more work than you actually do. I have longed for years to meet an Audi/VW expert that I could trust. I have to say it is an honor to have finally found one. Bob is a consummate professonal period. I'm very happy I found the Dr. To take care of my 2011 a4. I do not personally know Bob but I trust him 100x more than any dealership! I brought my car in to have the timing chained and accessories replaced before it became an issue and Dr. Volks was better than I expected...the price was lower than i was quoted, he called and kept me informed on what was happening and when he called to tell me the car was finished he also told me about other components on my car that he looked at (brakes etc). He is a busy man so don't expect your car in 1 day, but he was well worth it and is my "go to" mechanic for my Audi.

New customer - I saw all the 5 star responses and needed repairs to my car, so I tried Dr Volks. Bob did a great job replacing my left front axle and control arm. His price was very fair. He contacted me on the his progress when trying to find the specific axle for my application (it wasn't a common part). It was reassuring to know that Bob was using the correct part for the job rather than using a substitute. I will be bringing my car(s) to Dr Volks for future work and recommend him to others.

After having my 2013 VW wait at another independent shop for a head /valve/timing repair for over 6 weeks it was worth every bit of the drive/tow to take it to Dr Volks. Bob was very responsive to calls, and emails. Knew exactly what he was getting into and did a professional and quick major repair! I only wish he was closer but was worth the drive!

Bob Mann is the mechanic I feel like I ve always been looking for. He s got 40+ years of experience working on German cars, he s as honest as they come, and because he s so knowledgeable he s not trying to gouge you for the labor. I recommend Bob highly. The Audi dealer quoted me 4K to replace the turbo charger. They said it was something I needed to do right away. The car is 8 years old with only 50K miles. I took the car to Bob and he checked everything and saved me 4K. He talked me through what to look for with engine lights and when to call him back, etc. I don't know alot about cars and he could have taken me for alot of money, like the dealership tried to do, but he was honest and thorough. Had some turbo problems on my Jetta and was frantic to get my car in I had another shop tell me there was nothing they could do about it and recommended dr volks in pembroke- Bob was able to fix a problem with my car that a dealership couldn't!! Bob Mann is a HIGHLY knowledgable technician and does quality work. So thankful that I found his shop and will always go to him for my vw. Dr.Volks has done extensive work on my 2008 GTI ranging from a complete head rebuild to installing performance suspension and exhaust components. He always charges a fair price and is reliable in the work that he does. After he rebuilt my head I noticed that my check engine light came on and after I informed him he fixed it right away. Dr.Volks always gets the job done and can be counted on to do it the right way. After speaking with him I can tell he is very knowledgeable with VW/Audi and I trust him with my car 100%.

I was in town seeing family and all of a sudden this really messed up sound started happening on the front wheel. I didn t know how sketchy it was to keep driving. Got in touch with Bob and he explained after seeing a photo that the sound was the anti rattle clip had got messed up and had rubbed the wheel and wasn t a big deal if the clip broke off. Anyhow it was very helpful and if I lived here I would take my car to Bob - thanks Bob!

My mom and I have been taking our Audis to Dr Volks for a long time. Bob is reliable, honest, and a great specialist mechanic if you own a VW or Audi car. Much more affordable than a dealership service center but still work you can rely on to be done correctly every time!

I learned the hard way when my kids were young that, if you've got a good babysitter, keep it to yourself. Otherwise, the next time ya need her, she's already booked. But that would be selfish. Dr. Bob done good; real good by me. He guided me away from a multi-thousand-dollar repair, explaing what to do to get VW to stand by its DPF warranty - which they did, BTW. Bob charged me far less than the dealership for fan replacements and he did a fine job replacing springs, struts and shocks. Wait, hold on a tick. I don't know it was a fine job. I'm a builder not a car mechanic. Folks have faith in me that I will build it right and that faith is built mostly by word of mouth; reputation. That's why I sought out Dr. Bob, because of his great reputation. I trust ours is the start of a great relationship.

Had my 2016 vw touareg tuned by the Doctor. What can i say , worth every penny . Car is a lot more responsive and feels more torquey in low rpm. Also it seems that it improved the sound of the engine. Overall a great experience.Service: Auto engine tuningService: Auto engine tuning

We purchased an '02 VW Passat for our teenaged daughter from an independent dealer at what we thought was a great deal, only to learn there were several mechanical issues that needed attention. We had never owned a VW before, so we were unaware of how pricey repairs can be, especially at a VW dealership. We initially had some repairs done by our usual local mechanic, but he was extremely pricey and did not know enough about VWs to comfortably perform further work for us. I asked around and Dr. Volks/Bob Mann Auto came up. Bob knows all there is to know about VWs and Audis.His extensive knowledge of these vehicles is amazing. We've brought our vehicle to him several times over the past 6 months for mechanical issues, as well as for things like replacing a faulty headlamp unit and broken glove box, reprogramming key remotes and cleaning out moon roof drainage tubes when water was detected on the floor of the vehicle. Bob pretty much knew immediately what problem we were experiencing just be calling and describing it to him over the phone!The cost of repairs at Bob Mann Auto is extremely reasonable. No hourly rate to contend with, just a flat price for the work performed. Honesty at its best!We are so thankful to have found Fr. Volks for our VW mechanical and maintenance needs. I give Bob Mann Auto the highest recommendation possible.

Bob Mann completed my 2004 Jetta TDI oil pan replacement and speed sensor ahead of schedule and on a quoted price. Other reviews mention his honesty and his knowledge with VW's; I agree with those reviews. I will unquestionably bring my car to him again!

Honest. Great service. Very helpful. As a new "used" Audi owner, Dr. Volks was very helpful during a discussion with an Audi Dealership's Service Department. His feedback saved me a few thousand dollars. The work he performed on my Audi was top-notch. A great find on the South Shore.

I am a new customer to Dr.Volks and a happy one at that. I brought my 2012 VW Passat TDI in for it's 80k maintenance. The car was done before promised, and the price quoted(quite bit less than the dealer). In addition I was concerned about the wear on my the breaks (like anyone should be at 80k), Bob recited the actual percentage of pads left and made feel comfortable that I have quite a few more miles to go. (some places would take advantage ). I will be a return customer!

Dr. Volks has vast knowledge on how to troubleshoot VW repairs at a fair price. Check engine code for turbo problem popped up. I was told by a non-VW specialist that the turbo needed to be replaced. Dr. Volks said it could be a stuck arm, which it was, and had it repaired (not replaced) and back to me within one day. Highly recommend. Will take my VW Tiguan only to Dr. Volks. Out entire family is very gratefull for the continued service that Bob Mann provides to us and allows our family to stay mobile. We switched from having big ammerrican cars (3 Crown Vics) for last 14 yrs to now TDi Diesel jettas, we have 2 of tehm on the road now with a third in near future. We chose Bob Mann as THE go to mechanic and he is much more than just a mechanic, he is also an eclectic artisan of all european cars and he really knows his stuff inside and out like no ONE else we've met. I really reviewed ALL my options in my New England region thru the many driver and mechanic forums that mechanics and users post to & share their info for VW and after reviewing all our options we chose him and his shop. NO reason to EVER consider "stealership service" with their exhorbitant "stealer" rates. Bob gets it done much better and in the correct way the first time. He will be our family's mechanic with our family's german cars as long as he has his shop!! We are pleased to have found him.

Brought in my 2013 GTI to have the cam chain tensioner replaced based on a vw tsb.. Bob new exactly what I needed and quoted the work precisely. He got my car done when he said it would be done. If you love your VWs and need great service for a reasonable rate, I definitely recommend Dr. Volks!

Very knowledgeable on VWs and extremely fair priced. He got my TDI running amazing and without the need to replace my turbo which is what the dealer recommended. Will not hesitate to make the 200 mile round trip again to have him service my TDI.

Called Dr Volks as I thought my Jetta had a slipping clutch. He asked one question "Does it slip going uphill?" I said yes and he said"Bring it in"(Stealership wouldn't even talk to me without charging me for a diagnostic!)He found parts that saved me money and didn't install a new seal as he told me that it wasn't needed!(What mechanic does that?!?)Work was done ontime and it feels like I'm driving a new car!Believe the reviews! Bob is the real deal!
