Called ahead asking if they could take a look at a broken detached muffler on my Honda Civic. The mount and coupling that mates the exhaust to the muffler was rotted and had broken off, so I called around noon asking if they had time to take a look, and the woman on the phone said no problem.I drove over and they had my exhaust fixed in under an hour for $200. A bit less costly than I was expecting, considering my Civic Si has a higher end exhaust, but luckily they were able to simply weld on a new flex coupling and exhaust hang. No need to replace anything, took under an hour. I m grateful and very satisfied with the quick and pleasant service from this place! Would recommend! Ive posted some before and after pictures here as well.

I had my exhaust system rust and become detached. I had to rehang it with use of metal hangers to drive it. I called up one my friends in the car world and he recommended Muffler and Brakes. The mechanics/technicians/receptionist were really top notch. Located on Church St. in New Bedford. I arrived late in the afternoon. The mechanic still went under the car and prepared a quote. The mechanic gave me two options. I had them remove and replace the tail pipe. This quote included a test drive (the repair of: muffler and pipe, hardware, rear tail pipe, spring bolt, and exhaust pipe flange). It took less than hour. I highly recommend them!!

I have been going here for years. They are fair with their prices, professional, friendly and are the best at fixing mufflers and brakes. I love that they will assess your car and give you a quote. Ive also got my oil changed here. I Would recommend them to everyone

I was very impressed with Muffler and Break system. The girl at the front desk was super nice and was appreciative of our business. I was most impressed that their mechanics were honest, professional, and were fair in terms of their service and rates. They did a fantastic job and saved us close to $300.00 to what the dealer quoted us. I strongly recommend them and will be returning for future services. Awesome job!Service: Exhaust

Unfortunately this place is not what it used to be with service. I have been doing all of my oil changes, brake and minor repairs at this shop. My experience with my last oil change was less than positive to say the least. I picked up my car and assumed my oil had been changed properly, however, about a month after my oil change I noticed my hood latch was broken. The last time anyone had touched it was this shop. When I went back to have it rectified, I was told that I hadn t been to their place since 2021 (untrue I had my receipt) and they had no oil changed because their last person quit and I had to come back during the weekdays. There was absolutely no customer service in any way as the attendant couldn t even pick her chin up off the counter to have a face to face conversation with me. Fast forward to this week and I have a new mechanic that was able to get my hood open and we discovered my car has no oil, it would not even register on the dipstick. Which brings me to question whether they had ever even changed the oil if the latch was broken, my car was under the 5k miles with low miles and no underlying mechanical issues.I never write these reviews but I felt compelled in this instance since this place has really gone downhill. I like to support the small business but unfortunately, I will be taking my cars elsewhere.Service: Oil change

Went in for an estimate for an exhaust leak on my truck, unfortunately they weren t able to do the job itself since my trucks issue was something they wouldn t do, but no big deal. They were very courteous & friendly and squeezed me in on a tight schedule will definitely be returning for an oil change soon as the prices seem very reasonable!

Went in for a muffler they told me come back in an hr. I came back they took me in as soon as i got back and completed the entire job in less then an hr.The best part was they even took me in to show me what was needed and what was going to be done and gave me a great price for the job... this is a great place with nice friendly people... great gob guys

My boyfriend and I just went to get his muffler done. Great customer service, reasonable price, and amazing work. The car looks and sounds great we have a warentee and it only took 1.5 hours. Highly recommend!

I don't know what is up with this place. They quoted $1200 for a brake job. Boyfriend ended up going more than an hour back to his hometown mechanic and got his car fixed for $520 parts and labor.My boyfriend had gotten his car fixed here in the past and everything was good, price was in line with what we expected. He did say it was a different mechanic he dealt with than the last time.Very odd experience. Buyer beware!

I was waiting for something simple to be done to my car. I overheard them going over pricing with an elderly lady. They were transparent with the costs and the work was reasonably priced (less than chains /dealers).In addition they took care of my simple fix for wayyyyyyy less than I thought since I m used to getting porked by dealership prices.

There is generally a 10-15 minute wait for car to be taken for oil change then the process takes 15-20 minutes. The receptionist is pleasant and friendly, and the technicians are efficient and reliable. I've been going here for service since 2003.

Couldn't be happier. Had a section of exhaust fabricated and welded while I waited. Great staff, service, shop is clean and organized with plenty of bays.I do 95% of my own maint and repairs but I will definitely use them in the future If something comes up, and recommend to friends & family!

Drive from Albany NY to New Bedford MA for a family reunion/memorial. Final approach driving was sluggish and once parked at the Hall noticed major brake issues (serious smoke) from driver side front wheel - obvious that caliper had failed and seized the pads onto the rotor. Called Muffler & Brake explained the situation and was told to get the car there ASAP and they can get it done. 3-4 hours later car was repaired and I can feel better about the ride back to NY.For my situation - a quality experience.Service: Brakes

I went Muffler and Brake Complete Car Care concerning an engine light issue and diagnosis. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient both over the phone and in house. They advised me that a number of things could be contributing to my problem and offered to do the a diagnostic test. The service was fast and thorough. They detailed and explained each item in terms of cost and urgency without pressure. I left with a clear understanding of what needs to be done. Even though it means traveling from out of state, I feel confident returning to Muffler and Brake once I am prepared to have these problems resolved.

Gr8 customer service.. But, i had to go back 3 days after paying out $400 for the 30 day warranty. They replaced all their work! Emissions into car and driving with the windows down in the winter. The waiting room is cold in the winter.

Never had a bad experience there. The owner is a "working man's man." Doesn't sell you what you don't need. He recommends, but does not push you to repair right away. As honest as I've seen.

Awesome Family Owned Business!!!! I just moved to town recently I never met these guys before and they took care of me as if I was family. So the night before I drove off a curb trying to pullout of a tight exit space that had a sharp hook on it and all the sudden I realize I am going up and over the sharp end corner piece of the curb and once my car slammed down my muffler sounded like I paid for a high end screaming exhaust ! So my next thought was I am about to get hammered by a muffler joint but come to find out there s a killa shop right down the street from me and what s a blessing that was. They took care of the issue with in 5 mins!!!! Bless up to Muffler & Break Systems 15 Star Review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would have given five stars, but Parts and service is kinda expensive. The crew are great, very knowledgeable and respectful. Overall good experience everytime I've had Work done there.
