My ancient car failed inspection due to an exhaust leak, and it was suggested I try Lou's Custom. I went there the next morning, and they had replaced the rotted muffler by 2!I felt the price was quite reasonable and there is nowhere else I know of that could have done it the same day. I know my regular mechanics would have taken a week just to be able to look at it, and it quite probably would have cost a lot more.Everyone I dealt with was prompt, helpful and polite. I will certainly bring any exhaust business to them in the future.

So I have tried to do business with this local shop 2 times now. I live in Medford and the shop is more convenient than Wilmington. (Go to Wilmington, worth it!)The first time was with an 03 RSX base practically stock. The exhaust pipe broke at a weld and just needed to be repaired. He quoted me $60 which was reasonable but I was not thrilled about his demeanor. So I explained I was going to check to see if my regular mechanic wanted the work first and if not I would be back. He then scoffed and said "you'll be back" .... So my mechanic didn't want to do it but after that comment i brought it to Wilmington to be done. $10 less, not that it's much but a little weird they are higher than the same franchise. But I digress....My son also has a yellow 06 RSX type S. Beautiful car and well maintained. Lowered but has plenty of clearance. I still let them drive it thru the car wash and no issues. There is a piece of the exhaust support that is low and is hitting the ground. So against my better judgement the convience factor kicked in again. I stopped by and the same gentleman was there and when I told him what I needed, his first response was "I'm not responsible for any damage to your car from my lifts" i said ok, looked at the drive on lift and left. I had enough!How does a business who puts cars on lifts all day long, not know how much clearance they need? And he didn't even go out and look at it. This is from me driving by and parking. I understand mechanics typically aren't customer service specialists. But making a blanket statement that "you're not responsible for ANYTHING that might happen on your lift" is unacceptable to me. Especially without taking the time to really see if it's going to be a problem.That was the second chance and last. Sad because I'm local and I have 3 cars that I will need exhaust work done in the near future. Thank God for Wilmington!I really hope that this place learns it's not the things you say as much as it's how you say them.....

Had an exhaust leak with my pipe and was in and out in less than an hour between quoting me and then actually fixing it! It s first come first serve, no appointments, so I got lucky with timing but they were very helpful when I called ahead and was trying to figure out when was best to come since I was limited to my lunch break or trying to drop it off after work but before they close. As for price, they are extremely reasonable and fair - I would highly recommend!Service: Exhaust

I brought my car in to Lou's Custom Exhaust to have work done on it this week and I was greeted by a very nice female at the front desk that helped me with everything and gave me one of the best quotes that I was hoping to receive, I was very happy and pleased with how fast I was in and out and how they were able to fix the issues I had going on with my car.. I'd recommend this place to everyone and anyone. I'd give 20 stars if it was possible. Thank you Lou's Custom Exhaust for all your help.

The worst exhaust shop in Massachusetts, extremely rude, condescending people. I had an exhaust leak fixed, but somehow they didn't weld all the way around. When I returned he told me "that's not my problem"Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

To the point of a previous review that I read, "condescending" i agree with that review. I called several exhaust shops today looking for an appointment to delete a resonator as well as secondary cat. Very common and done everywhere. Very condescending and insulting way. The guy on the phone said you're crazy if you think I am deleting your secondary cats. I'm not gonna risk a fine with the EPA for you! I replied that it's been done for me many times in the past and I've never heard about this Rule. But I will make an appointment with you and maybe you can just delete my resonators instead which he replied I'll do that for you. I asked him if I could come in today around three or 330 to which he reply I don't make appointments and I don't wait for anybody. You can come in and we will get to you as soon as possible. I told him I don't wait for anybody either and I will take my business elsewhere. Needless to say an hour and a half later I had an appointment and nine only wore my resonators deleted, but my secondary's as well. If you love attitude and nasty behavior, I recommend this shop!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. From the very first day I went there one of the workers were extremely rude to me and today when I went back to get work done in my car, he wanted a $200 deposit and I went back to get it because I didn t have any cash on me. I told him I would be back but he threw my receipt in the trash and when I brought him the money he took that same crippled receipt from the trash to give to me and when I confronted him about his rude behavior towards me from the very first day I walked in the store, he gave me back the money and refused to work on my car.

Excellent service and price. Fixed my exhaust where it needed to be, where another vendor wanted to change the entire exhaust system. Honest and maintains the reputation of Lou's Custom Exhaust. Highly recommend. Expect an hour or two wait so don't charge in expecting to be serviced right away unless there isn't any cars there.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

The two guys who worked on my 74 Chevelle were awesome.They were quick, nice and did an awesome job for which I now found my new go to place. I'll never go anywhere else for work on my Betty Lou. The work here top notch.Thanks fellas

I went to Lous in Medford last week to get a muffler delete on my car and they did an AMAZING JOB. 10 stars let alone 5 stars is not enough to describe how phenomenal Lous' customer service and actual work are! My car runs and sounds AMAZING not to mention how friendly and efficient they were and always are whenever I come in. I have a BMW 3 series and they definitely have German manufacturing knowledge and skills. I definitely would recommend them and them only 10 out of 10 times and they are definitely the place to go if you have a German car, as well.

These guys here in Medford are great. Fixed my pipe while I waited. Very reasonable price and extremely friendly. It is first come first serve, but they do work fast and will tell you the truth. Will definitely return if I need to and will recommend this shop to everyone.

I would suggest stay away. Extremely poor customer service from the technician in the garage. He might be having a bad day, but you just don t yell at people the way he yelled at me and my daughter.

I truly appreciate professionalism of these people! They fixed my exhaust problem, it was very inexpensive. And then the mechanic tells "you know, a free advice - you gotta replace that gas filter - it's a few bucks, but if the fuel pump goes out you'll be in for a big money". I followed his advice (at another shop) - and the car starts like new!! Nobody told me about the gas filter!! I cannot be happier!

Had a few interactions with Lou & Mitch, they are the most honest and straight forward Mechanics I have met in Medford and the surrounding area. They WILL help you and they WILL get your car fixed properly. THEY ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXPERIENCED! I have been judged and scrutinized when I walk into a place because I am a young guy and people don't see dollar signs when I walk in, so they milk me for the cash and keep me coming back. These guys DON'T DO THAT!Had a rusted out exhaust pipe that needed to be fixed to pass inspection, they had me all fixed up and good to go in about 1 hour, good luck trying to get that kind of work done in that time anywhere else!

A friendly, honest exhaust shop.They were transparent in their estimate of the work, quick to replace my leaking exhaust, charged a reasonable price for high quality work and even stayed past closing so that I could pick up my car the same day.This is a how a shop should be run!

Just experienced Lou, the owner. Wouldn't approach my vehicle, I wondered why. "No mechanics on weekends, I won't even look at the vehicle". Literally didn't want to look at the vehicle. Seemed more interested in getting home at 1:00, this was at 8:00am opening. Not as customer oriented as some reviews claim! Just seemed stand "offish". Soften up slightly toward the end of our 3 minute interaction.

Recommended by my trusted mechanic. Great service, fast and friendly staff! Fixed my flex pipe in under 15 mins and had me back on the road in great shape. Would definitely recommend to anyone in need of exhaust work.

Recently bought an upgraded downpipe for my car, and don't have the means to install it (FYI its 7 bolts, but a lift is needed to work on it).Went to Lou's since it was right around the corner from my house. The owner Dennis talked down to me like I was 3 years old. He quoted me $400 on something that required 7 bolts to be taken out and reinstalled, it was really hard not to walk out right after that. The icing on the cake was when wrongly tried to explain to me how a turbo charger works, how do you have an exhaust shop and not know how a turbo works?!? I am lucky that I know enough about cars to realize how ridiculously overpriced and clueless these services are.Please do not go here without researching how a part can be installed.

Went in to replace leaking exhaust, but evidently that fix resulted in damaging my car brake lines.As soon as I got my car back after exhaust fixed, I started experiencing sudden jerks randomly while my way back home from their garage. I ignored them assuming exhaust might be jerking due to being newly replaced, but that resulted in major repair to my car few weeks later, found out new major brake lines leak and damage to all brakes. Had to break the bank to replace everything and get car in working order. Small exhaust fix turned out to be major disaster. Very poor service to say the least.

Muffler still loud after I spent $300, says he can't fix because leak is in a difficult spot!? Why didn't you tell me this before starting the job? Be careful people, this man doesn't check for ALL leaks before he starts working on your car, instead he will just start fixing the obvious leaks and then send you home with loud car, he doesn't even check his own work after it's complete!Service: Exhaust
