I have a 2017 Honda HRV, and have brought it to Arborway for seven years now. They are by far the best car shop I ve ever been to in my 20+ years of driving. They are honest, extremely knowledgeable, and fairly priced. From my experience, they really always do what s best for the customer.Usually I go to them for routine maintenance, but this weekend, I ran over a nail in Boston and got a flat tire! Arborway not only got me in as soon as they opened Monday, but gave me excellent advice on what to do about the tire, and also made time to change my oil when I asked them if they could fit it in.If you want a great mechanic, give them a call! You won t regret it :)

One of the things that really stood out to me was their exceptional patience. My catalytic converter was on back order, and they graciously held onto my car while we waited for the part to become available.They also took care of my yearly inspection, which was done quickly and professionally. While waiting, I was able to relax in a comfortable waiting room with complimentary water and coffee.What truly sets this car shop apart is their transparency and dedication to building trust with their customers. I always worry about whether I can trust mechanics with my car. But, they took the time to explain what was going on with my car, showed me the parts they were working on, and patiently answered all of my questions.

Excellent and friendly staff. Came in for an inspection and waited 15 min. Paid the usual inspection price and was outta there in less than half an hour. Would definitely come back!

Hands down the best auto mechanics around.The only ones I trust. Over the course of 30 yrs I've taken 3 cars here and for 30 years I've been absolutely satisfied with not only the work but their assessment of what was needed. As an added bonus, everyone of the people I've interacted with over the years, from Greg at the front desk to Mike, the owner, to his helpful and kind son, Mat. I simply cannot say enough positive things. I've also observed them treat every customer who comes into their business with nothing but respect and kindness. We are so fortunate to have them and I hope they stick around for years to come.

I was about to leave a review and I couldn't help noticing one of the reviewers below nuanced that Asians were discriminated here. Well, I am Asian, and what I experienced during my four visits was nothing but above and beyond customer service. Honestly, I don't think they even have time to pause and wonder where we are from:) The shop is always busy and they work around the clock. I renewed my inspection here on my first visit, when I was told that I seriously needed to change one of the tires for my safety, to which I asked for the pass as I was planning to sell my car, and they said NOPE, nothing against the law. I did replace the tire and also repaired the ripped axle here on my second visit, then I fell in love with my car again since troubles were well taken care of. I visited again two more times because my car kept giving me under inflation warnings, but each time even though I went there without notice, they were really kind and understanding, and gave this worrying person assurance that the car was safe for driving. They have a waiting room with multiple cords of cell phone charging station- Love It!

The team at Arborway is extremely professional, trustworthy, and have FAST service. Greg is a great guy and made me feel comfortable when I came to Arborway with a list of issues for my car, including brake replacement, state inspection, oil change and some other issues. I was surprised when I brought my car in at 7:30AM and they had my car back to me the same day, at a very fair price. I very highly recommend Arborway and will be returning to them if I have any other issues.

Fast, Honest and Reliable. Great for inspection stickers and super convenient to my home in JP. I recommend.UPDATE: I showed up at 3:55 for an inspection sticker - the computer shuts down at 4:00. They were able to get me in and out in just a few minutes. I <3 this place!

The best shop around by FAR. I've gone to Mike, Greg and the team at Arborway Auto for everything and anything my civic has needed all the way up to a full clutch replacement. Horrible service! We brought our car for oil change and AC check and they came up with replacing two unrelated components and now our car has been acting and every error lights are turning on. We brought the car to a different mechanic and it seems this shop just wants to rip us off by messing up with our car. We are okay with paying their service despite being on a high price end but when you can t install a new exhaust and axle properly and mess around other parts, there is no way a good paying customer will ever come back to this shop. Also, it seems Asians have bad experiences on this shop based on reviews.

don t come here if you re a young woman. they left my car unfixed and charged me an arms and a leg just to tamper w my car. they suck donkey balls i wish i could say more but i believe in karma

The team takes such good care of my child's car. They are honest and do a great job explaining repairs needed. My child is a student and money is tight, so I am grateful they take such great care of the car at a very reasonable rate. As a parent who lives on the other side of the country, it is a great peace of mind for me.

Went in to get my yearly state inspection. The staff was extremely nice including Matt the inspector. Was in and out and fifteen minutes and was offered water and coffee awhile I waited. Will definitely be coming back here.

I went in for a vehicle inspection after transferring my out-of-state vehicle to MA. After starting the inspection, the service guy came to tell me they couldn't pass my vehicle because the tint was too high on my side passenger windows. Instead of charging me for a fail, he wanted to let me know and spent a couple of minutes explaining what they look for so I could be prepared. I ended up going elsewhere to get an inspection sticker, but I really appreciated that the service guy at Arborway Auto was honest and spent the time to try to help me!Service: Vehicle Inspection

Great shop and great service. They ve been around for decades, and it clearly shows. They re an institution in the community and my car has never come out running so well from just a quick tune up!

I am a proud supporter of local businesses. My husband and I paid more than what was originally quoted. I posted a review (previously) about our experience. Mike seen our review and reached out and refunded us the difference between the quote and what we actually paid. I appreciated this gesture and his business approach. Because of this, we will bring our car back to get additional work done. We really appreciated the conversation and the thoughtfulness. The Arborway Auto team are very understanding and I am happy they rectified the situation. This helps build trust between customers and their company. Thanks again Mike, for making things right!

I called Arborway in a panic. I was visiting family nearby and arrived with a flat tire. Arborway fit me in immediately. They communicated clearly about the issues ( more than a flat!) - took pictures of the issues and quickly fixed the problems. They were up front about pricing ( and it was fair!)I was so impressed by everyone at Arborway and would highly recommend them.

Very nice folks and communicative about any car issues. I get my inspection done here and I ve had my car checked before a road trip. All experiences have been nothing but positive! Also a great location; you can just walk around downtown JP or the arboretum while the car work gets done if it s a bigger job!

Recently my Nissan had broken down on the side of the highway and I had it towed to Arborway Auto. I did not know much about this shop, but the owner Mike was able to help me get back on the road within 24 hours of the engine problem. He had told me that my alternator belt broke and gave me and estimate right away. The service was quick and the workers were efficient. I recommend if you ever have any problems definitely go there. They even did small adjustments to my car such as fixing the alignment. Ill never go anywhere else now.Service: Engine repair

Really like this shop. Family owed and straight shooters. Greg and Mike gave us great advice on making some tough decisions on our vehicle that didn t make them any money. Will be back for any repairs, oil changes, etc.

Had a problem with our car when at doctor's appointment in Boston we were from the New Bedford area and wanted to know if we could make it home. The gentleman came out took a look quickly diagnosed the problem and kindly told us we could make it home but get it fixed. All without charging us, I would have gladly paid for that piece of mind. Wish they were closer I would certainly use this garage for all my car repairs. Thank you for being there.

As someone who dreads going to the mechanic, I loved this place. They made me feel super comfortable, were kind to me, and had really clean facilities! I don t even live in this area, stopped here in a pinch for a state inspection. I will go out of my way in the future just to get work done here when I need it.

I've been bringing my (stupid, aging) car here for three years and the Arborway team is terrific. They've done outstanding work, are transparent in what is essential vs optional, and have always had very fair quotes. Mechanics are tough to evaluate for those with non-technical knowledge but I've never left second-guessing myself. Incidentally, are not open on weekends, so I suspect it's a great place to work as well!

I've been to a few places around JP and Roslindale and these guys are.the.best! I took my truck in not expecting it back for a week and they had it done in two days after offering to have it done the next day. They also offered to wait for me to show up during their closing time. This is the kind of customer service you hear about but don't often experience. Will definitely be going back.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

I was so delighted that I tried this place a 2nd time. I normally disregarded them because they are only open 5 days a week. I was able to call them last minute Friday and asked if the could fix my A/C. He said sure we cam try to fit you in come on by. They were scheduled to close in 3 hours, so I was quite pleased. The place is set up very well for the state's new guidelines. They advised me it would take an hour and would cost $200 unless it was a bigger issue. I called back in about an hour, they were just wrapping up and the cost was as promised. They turned my car around for me as it is a tricky location. They also wiped down what they had touched in my car including the door handle. Will definitely use them again. I would like to add that they didn't try to sell me on unnecessary services, that I did not need or require, like other shops in JP!

Pros: inspection done in 10 minutes, free coffeeCons: horrendous service, no communication of what was going on, manager Greg talked so fast and incomprehensibly that I had no idea what he was saying, asked about their services and was handed a business card with no explanation, asked if he had something to clean my windshield and was given a shrug, was suggested by the mechanic to clean my lights and he directed me to go buy something on the internet and clean it myself. The entire time I felt like a tool as if I was wasting their time by being there and not a valued customer at all.Bottom line: if you want to get your car fixed and feel like you re on a factory assembly line with no explanation of what s going on and no customer service, come here. If you actually want to know what s going on and form a relationship here to get your cars serviced here long term, go somewhere else. I will not be returning.

I've been taking my car here for 5 years. They are always honest and don't stick you with repairs/stuff you don't need, and do their best to squeeze you in between appointments if you have an emergency. My car battery needed a jump when I was home alone and they let me borrow a jumper pack for no charge - just had to leave them my ID while I used it. Greg is awesome!
