Great service, staff and prices! Shawn always explains to me what is being done which I appreciate. I just had my power steering system replaced and my car is driving like a charm. I trust Tick's Auto and the whole team and highly recommend them! Janice :-)

I had some suspension work done over the summer and Shawn and his team did a great job on my truck. I've been going to Tick's Auto for my vehicle repairs since 2003. Every time I've had an issue with my beloved truck, Shaun and his crew always went above and beyond expectations. They treated me as a friend. They always repaired my truck well within the quoted budget; and there were never any subsequent problems. Thanks entirely to Tick's Auto Repair, my beloved 18 year-old daily driver just turned 220k miles, and is running stronger than ever! I also entrusted Shaun with one of my classic vehicles for a restoration. The results were unbelievable. The shop is incredibly clean, and they are the consummate professionals. I'd recommend Shaun Marston's Tick's Auto to anyone!

I cant' say enough great things about Shaun and his crew! Shaun is always accommodating, especially when you are in a pinch, and your car needs immediate service. He fits you in promptly, despite how busy he is, and takes expert care of his clients. I have always appreciated his vast knowledge about cars. I can trust and count on him to keep my car running well and safely. He always steers me in the right direction. Extremely dependable, and Honest. The shop is spotless! Friendly... but not reliable. Brought my wife's car in for 50k service (basically an oil change), alignment, and requested new breaks as I knew these were at the end of their life. They did the oil, alignment, and rotated tires (not asked for... $90, tires were new and just installed 2k miles ago). They didn't do the breaks as there was a shred of life left.. but not enough to go another 5k/oil change...Gave them the benefit of the doubt and scheduled a break job for 8am the following Monday. They assured me they would have the parts and have me done by mid-day. Dropped car off as they opened at 7:59am and wished them well. Asked they call as soon as it was complete as I had meetings and an appointment to get to. No call by 11:45am and I return at noon after wandering around Ipswich in the rain for 4 hours. Car is sitting in a parking spot with nothing done.I won't be returning for another disappointment, go check out one of the other local shops for help. Probably doesn't apply to "fleet vehicles" as one of those was given preference over my spot today. Hopefully the fleet owners take the time to leave a review.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes, Auto maintenance

Once again, I am impressed with the service Shaun performed on my vehicle. The service included new shocks, tire rotation and balance, and alignment (four wheel). The service was scheduled promptly upon my request; and, as in the past, my expectations were exceeded in the value offered and the extra efforts taken to ensure quality. I won t take my vehicles to anywhere else. I highly recommend Shaun and his team. They use quality parts and are very honest about their work. Even to the point of telling me that he would only do work on my current vehicle unless it was absolutely necessary to keep it running or for safety as it was on its way out. Other guys would happily just do the work and take your money while your car falls apart. I respect and appreciate Shaun s honesty.

Shaun Marston, the owner, is thorough, honest, and informative.We trust him with not only our cars since 2011, but also our daughter s car while she at college. Always calls and recommends what needs to be repaired and what could be repaired. Never any pressure. Ticks T-shirts are cool too!

I drive a rare vehicle and have always had service performed by a "specialty shop." I learned of Tick's as I searched for an alternate service facility for this vehicle. The service was timely (tire sensors, brakes, and new battery), beyond my expectations, and exceptionally professional; from return of phone calls, to providing transportation to/from home and the cleanliness of the waiting and service areas. I have realized the attention to detail shown by Tick's is unusual, and the great value of services provided compared to other service facilities I have experienced is fantastic - I would highly recommend Tick's for any service on your vehicle.Services: Tires, Engine repair

Outstanding work. Recently had my Toyota SUV in for a number of fixes including brakes, rotors, and struts. The car was a mess. I got honest and quick communication from Tick's, high quality parts, and most importantly the job was done RIGHT from bow to stern. The car feels better than new now. Highly recommended with zero complaints.

Ticks auto repair has been my go to auto shop for several years now. The owner and his staff are always kind, courteous and helpful with my automotive needs. They NEVER EVER suggest or recommend a service for my vehicle that isn t needed. They are running an honest shop and I m pleased to highly recommend them. Thank you for always taking good care of me!!

I have been going to Ticks for about 5 years after a number of bad experiences with another local shop who was charging 50% markup on parts.I have been working on my own cars for about 30 years, but with all the new computer based diagnosis required, and just a lack of time have my daily drivers serviced at Ticks. Shaun has always provided quotes for work, based on the book estimates, but is always careful about disclosing that work could take longer due to unforeseen circumstances, i.e rusted parts, etc. Most of his estimates come in on budget and the car is always ready when he says it will be.He almost always recommends OEM parts, and even though they are more expensive they usually last longer than aftermarket parts that can be made poorly.As far as the internet parts I understand the pricing difference verses the shop price, but on the other hand if you bring your own parts in who is going to deal with a part if it is defective? The shop should not have to get involved with warranty work on a part that you bought.Would you bring your food to a restaurant and ask them to cook it for you?A trusted relationship with your shop is important and it takes some time to form that relationship. It is a two way street.Not only does Shaun work on my daily drivers, but I also have him do maintenance work on my vintage 911.Look at some of the cars that are in his shop, many times there will be an old Mercedes, BMW, or even a vintage Ferrari.Out of all the reviews there is only one bad one; guess you can't make everyone happy.

I own a 1978 Chevy Van. Every year I can count on various mechanical and body parts wearing out and needing repair or replacement. Chevy dealers no long carry any of these--the only reason my Van is still functional is due to the knowledge and expertise of Shawn and the staff at Ticks. They have been terrific.

Shaun and his team are honest and straight forward. I really trust his judgment and as he says safety is his priority , I really appreciate that. He is never trying to oversell you on something and takes the time to explain each detail. Whenever I'm back in state, I make it a point to come here and get anything suspicious with my vehicle checked out. They can handle any job, and Shaun has such a keen eye/ear that generally, problems never get to a "critical failure" state. Only mechanic I will bring my 1996 and 2000 vehicles to. Who knows if the next "funny smell" will be the oil pump failing and completely destroying your engine? Probably the guys at Ticks, anyway.

Ticks Auto is the only place I'll take my car. Everyone there is friendly, helpful. Sean never suggest work that isn't absolutely necessary. Such a relief to have mechanics you can trust. A+++
