I recently had to change suppliers and selected Townsend based primarily upon their reviews. Being a new "generator only" propane customer, I have to say that so far I am delighted with the customer service. During my new customer tank inspection, a leak was detected underground that has more than likely been there for many years. The service technician could have finished his inspection and sent me to the scheduling department for a future repair but instead he called for parts and labor assistance and had me back in service within a few hours. This included digging by hand on a brutally hot day. Who could ask for better service than that! If it weren't for the fact that I have been buying my home heating oil from another company for over 40 years, I would probably swap that as well. Thanks again to the two service techs who helped me out to keep my generator ready to run.

Amazing service and Walter said he'd have my furnace up and running the same day that I called! (He's still here too!) So Tyvm to Townsend Energy for such great staff!!

One year ago we had our furnace replaced with a Bosch heat pump system. The communication and installation from Townsend Energy was excellent and we have had zero issues with our new system. When I noticed a pinhole leak in our older oil tank I called Townsend and they had someone to our door immediately. We had been given an estimate the previous year so it was very easy to move forward. The installation crew was courteous, thoughtful and efficient! We could not be happier with our new Roth oil tank and with Townsend Energy for their part. We have been customers of Townsend Energy now for 28 years and have always had great service, communication and peace of mind.

The customer service and attentiveness from Townsend Energy stands out above the rest! It is unparalleled and so appreciated in today's environment. I would highly recommend Townsend Energy to neighbors and friends and only wish I could use them for all my home improvement needs! I was greeted by employees who clearly care about their work and the customer. They were not only responsive, reliable and informative but friendly and kind! A special shout out to Bill, Ben and Manny! Thank you for providing such a pleasant customer experience!

Recently had Townsend Energy install replace an oil tank. The crew arrived on time, were polite and professional. They kept us informed of the progress, all the work was done to our satisfaction including clean up and removal of some oil. Overall an excellent job and we would highly recommend Townsend Energy.

I have been with Townsend Energy since 2016, all services were good till recently I ran in to a heating problems, they were good and professional from took my calls to finishing my heating problems.The service person is Mike welch, he spend few trips to my house and completed the service. He took time to explain how to maintaining or if issue comes back, what next step the I need to check and so on.After 2 days and he called me to follow up and make sure I don t have any problems and ensure if I any questions feel free to text or call his cell.I really appreciate Mike s personal care and thoughtful!Thanks again and keep up great job!

Needed to schedule maintenance on my furnace and on-demand hot water heater and got Beth on the phone. She was great! The date I wanted was out into May and she went through their calendar to make sure they were available the day I wanted. Then as I was reviewing the date with her before I hung up (I was driving at the time), I remembered I had another appointment already scheduled for that date and had forgotten to put it on my calendar!! She graciously went through their calendar again and rescheduled all the information to the next available day for me. She was very professional and accommodating! Great customer service!! Thank you, Beth for your patience with me!!

The experiences with your team have been amazing! I have only been a customer for a year, and it is quite evident that the culture of providing world-class service is the priority. Beth in Customer Service is extremely helpful, responsive and very attentive. Recently I had Dave out for a mechanical issue, and his response, technical knowledge and follow-up was so refreshing. Just a great company to do business with.

I have been with Townsend since they bought Atlantic Discount Oil, my previous provider. I have always gotten great service from Townsend Energy. One time when I did have an issue, one of the Townsends personally reached out to me to resolve the issue. I just recently had a new oil burner, oil tank, and thermostats installed by Townsend. Kevin was very helpful with options on proposal and gave me info about the MassSave loan and rebate process. The installers did great job, and left the place clean! They even helped move some items in my basement when I was unprepared for their arrival. Michelle reached out me when the job was completed to make sure I was I was satisfied with everything, and I got a thank you card! Excellent customer service!

Great company to work with. Transparent throughout the whole process. Iterative and willing to adapt to changes. Hard working techs that got the job done. Definitely recommend. Really happy with the Fujitsu product and I had experience with the Mitsubishis at a different house of mine as well. I have experience in HVAC and I am really happy with the overall experience. I am expanding this system further and will be using Townsend Energy for my future needs.

I have been a customer of Townsend Energy / Federal Heating for decades. I own a 2 Family Duplex in Winchester and I ask my tenant to also use Townsend for his oil. Townsend services both oil burners in my Duplex.Now I have to tell you why I stay with Townsend. One of your technicians found a very small leak in my oil tank and he said Townsend would have salesperson call to arrange and quote a replacement. As soon as I heard salesperson, I said to myself I am going to have to "deal" with a salesperson. UGH!Townsend sent Jeff Sartorelli. If I ran a company, I would hire Jeff on the spot. He is professional, knowledgeable, and likeable.I would put Jeff in front of any customer with 100% confidence in a good outcome. He sells by not selling. He educates the customer. He makes the customer feel good about a bad situation. He is real, genuine, and simply a "good guy". You managers at Townsend Energy have a piece of gold in Jeff!This is why I stay with Townsend Energy. You have good people that treat customers fairly, with kindness, and a commitment to fixing problems in a cost effective and timely manner.Carmen Ventola

The technicians worked very fast and were great about cleaning up. They're also incredibly friendly. I've had Townsend due work on my air conditioner, oil tank and furnace and would gladly ask them to continue to service all three.

We recently moved and we were looking for oil delivery for our new home. After reading the reviews we knew we found a company we wanted to work with. From the first phone call, through delivery of our first oil fill up and now scheduling of our burner to be serviced there is no doubt we made the right decision. every last employee we have come in contact with has shown that you are not a number but rather treated like family! We recommend Townsend for all your heating needs. Thank you for being there for our family!

Townsend just replaced my aging oil tank with a sleek new Roth double walled tank. The crew showed up right when they said they would and installation went smoothly. I also use Townsend for oil delivery and have had nothing but good experiences with them.

If I could give 6 stars I would ! Mike from Townsend Energy was sent out within an hour of me placing a call with no heat and after my plumber left and told me to check on the propane level. I had plenty of propane so Mike methodically checked the pressure coming into the house and then went to furnace to do a thourough inspection. He knew what to look for and explained it all to me as he went through the logic and showed me the mechanics of the burner and why I was having the issue we were having. He explained how it can be easily fixed and also showed me how to troubleshoot from a homeowners perspective as well . I learned so much from him and really really appreciate the explanation and also appreciate that Townsend has professionals like him that are thorough and skilled . I would highly recommend them as Jim Townsend knows how to hire and keep good employees .

Townsend has been above and beyond incredible. I have had my oil through them for the past year and when my boiler went out in the middle of the night a few days ago, I gave them a call. The process of working with them from start to finish through a challenging situation was top notch. I almost made the mistake of choosing another company because there was a miscommunication around the delivery of new propane tanks, as I decided to switch from oil to propane, but Service Manager Joe Gurry recognized the problem and solved it immediately. Installers Ben and Matt (who were very kind, knowledgable and informative) were out the next day (which was also a Saturday) to make sure I had heat over the weekend after my new boiler was installed. It needs to be mentioned too that Joe worked with me into the evening that Friday to get everything situated so my family could get back into our house. I am so impressed with the team at Townsend and would recommend anyone to use their services.

Townsend energy has always provided us great customer service. Even coming out with in a couple of hours on a holiday to get our furnace working.Moreover, their pricing has always been fair . I have been a Townsend customer for many years, they have always been very responsive and accommodating. When I needed to replace my central air conditioning they were one of three companies I approached and their quote was very reasonable. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and Covid conscious. I was very happy with a job well done.

I have been Townsend Energy's customer since Nov 2017 and have no issue in any matter. In dec 2021 my oil tank leaked (may be too old), first Townsend helped me to stop the leakage, sent a technician with in 30 min of my call and then my insurence company was not able to find any good supplier for the tank who could deliver new tank with in 2-3 weeks, but Townsend and their team jumped in and saved me from running out of heating oil. If you need top notch service you have to ignore their price.. you know what i mean ;) I could have given them 5 stars but 1 star lost, is for cost. I def recommend them and will be their customer as long as I need eating oil and gas.

Dishonest. Townsend Energy is a ripoff, I ordered 4 propane Tanks to my commercial building, they had my cc on file! At every delivery they would charge my cc $1,200+ I was getting deliveries almost every week! My wife went to Georgetown location to ask how much volume and at what price per a gallon are we paying for Because We NEVER RECEIVED A STATEMENT NOT EVEN ONCE!!! My wife was told that they will mail us all statements we paid in the past BUT THEY NEVER DID. I canceled their service and when they picked up the 4 Tanks was propane left in them, so I called them about 4 months later to see what happened about the extra propane was left in the tanks they picked up from my commercial building, they told me that I had credit for few hundreds $$$$ and if I want a check to be send to me Not sure why they wouldn t send me the check right after I canceled their service? NEVER AGAIN, I had the worst experience dealing with Townsend Energy.

Brian was excellent. He explained what he was doing. Any parts that had to be replaced, he showed me why they needed to be replaced. I could tell by the way he went about his work that he knew what he was doing. I was impressed by the diagnostics that were done after he tuned things up. I feel confident in the heating system after this service call. And I got an education about my heating system, which I am thankful for.

Townsend replaced a leaking oil tank. The work was done professionally in a very timely manner. They emptied the old tank, cut it up, removed it and installed a new tank exactly where we wanted it. When they were done they had me check out the work and I found the work done beautifully not a speck of oil on the cement, no mess, perfect!

Townsend Energy recently replaced my central air system. They were professional and thorough. They completed the job in 2 days, as promised, even though the previous system was rusted and falling apart.I definitely recommend Townsend for central air system service and home heating oil and propane services.

Mike was very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. He fixed the problem with our furnace promptly and took extra time to go above and beyond explaining things to me and getting my filter door reinstalled as it was broken. Deliveries are always prompt and I have never had any concerns or complaints since being with Townsend over a year ago.

Townsend installed mini split units a few weeks ago, the crew was efficient, knowledgeable and neat. They did the job in half a day which was a nice surprise. If you re thinking of getting them, do, I already don t even notice them and can open the window.

I called Townsend around 3:35 PM today because of a little red light flashing on Beckett Oil Burner and the water temperature was 81 when it usually reads between 165 to 178. I looked at the gauge on the oil tank and it looked low to me.At 4:30 today, I called Townsend again. A truck had delivered oil and the driver had started the oil burner. All that in less than an hour. Thank you, Townsend Energy you take good care of us.

Where to begin.. I'll start with Bill. He was highly responsive, both over email and phone and helped us choose an ideal location for our propane tank which required almost no digging... Thanks Bill! Then came Matt with the initial install. Pleasant, diligent and hard working. Then last but not least, Manny... Turns out our stove is built in a wonky way, requiring over 10 hours of work to complete an LP conversion. They were bound and determined to get the job done and get the stove in working order ahead of the evening's dinner. They did it, and refused to take the easy way out. Major kudos to the whole Townsend team, including Joe the Services Manager. Thank you!

How nice is it to call a business and actually get to speak with a live human being without having to wait 45+ minutes being terrorized by horrible, scratchy wait muzak?! Townsend Energy does it right; you call, push one number for the department whom you wish to speak, and voila! you get a real person who is helpful, friendly and polite. Thank you Townsend Energy for caring about your customers!

I had a serious leak in my boiler and called Townsend for immediate help. I received a call from Tony within 15 minutes and he was at my home about an hour and a half later. He was so professional- he called again when he was on the way to my house and lastly, when he had finished, he called with a thorough update of what he had done, the follow up I needed to do and to tell me that the leak had been resolved. Tony has made service calls at my house in the past and his performance today was typical of his work. I commend him for his service.
