Just wanted to personally thank the tech that did my inspection on my Grey Jeep Sahara today. I wish I remembered his name.First Not only were they quick prompt and professional , they are also so thoughtful. As a Jeeper he touched my heart. I know he knows he put such a smile on my face as we made eye contact and smiled as I found a this super cute pink Duck I m my Jeep. That truly made my day. He now joins his happy Jeep Duck family. Always the best! Great at letting you know what is going on with your car and options of how to decide the best plan to fix. I was traveling out of state when my check engine light went on. I called in and Chip told me exactly what to do and what to expect. It definitely made my drive home much less stressful. I really appreciate having someone I can call and trust I am getting the best advice. Thanks to everyone at Central Automotive!

I have to rave about the service I received here. I stopped by for a reinspection of my wife's car which had previously failed. When I walked in the person at the desk told me the inspector had just left for lunch and that he would be back in an hour. As I walked out, the inspector was waiting by my wife's car. He saw me go in and knew a reinspection was very quick and he didn't want me to have to leave and come back later. Five minutes later the car passed reinspection and I was on my way. Central Automotive has been servicing my 15 year old Odyssey for a few years now. They've done everything from oil changes and routine maintenance to replacing starters and engine mounts. I appreciate that they are logical about what needs to be fixed and how. I've never felt like they tried to sell me a repair that I didn't need. They respect the fact that my vehicle is old and I just want them to keep it running safely for as long as possible at a reasonable price. As far as I can tell, their prices are about the same as dealer service. Okay, they don't wash and vacuum out your car for you (which I do miss), but I believe they deal with me honestly, they're close to home (which is convenient for me) and I try to give my custom to local businesses whenever I can, particularly when they provide good service.

06/2022 - I ve brought my cars here for tire rotations for the last 10 years or so. I like this place and want to give them my business, but tire rotation service was $30 about 6 months ago and was hiked to $50 on the rotation done today, which just seems ridiculous and out of line with inflation.05/2023 - I had front and rear brakes done here on my Toyota Prius in July of 2020. The rear brakes completely failed after less than 3 years and only 26,000 miles. The pads on both sides wore at a steep angle until the metal backing was touching the rotor at one edge. You can see in the first photo the top of the metal backing of the brake pad touching the rotor and in the second photo you can see that there is about 6 mm of pad left on the bottom of the brake pad. The original brakes lasted 85,000 miles because the car uses the electric motor to brake and because it is so light. I called Central Automotive and asked about a warranty or pro-rated repair, but was completely dismissed by the person I talked to. They did not stand behind their work in the slightest.Services: Tire rotations, Brakes

Total lack of professionalism. I showed up to get a state inspection, and it happened to be the end of the month. The owner looked at me and the entire group of customers behind me and says, "You wanna get an inspection at the end of the month? Good luck with that! Hahaha!" He says this looking out at a large group of customers behind me in order to get some kind of consensus and approval. Granted it was the end of the month, but really there's no reason to be rude and alienate a prospective customer. Prospect was as far as it went. I turn heel and walked out. There's really no reason to be rude to anyone for that matter. I'll never go back to this place and it doesn't matter if he happened to have the best and most convenient service on the planet.Look at some of the previous reviews, you'll see a pattern.Other reviews call them rude as well.

I've been using Central Automotive for a few years (oil changes, tires & brakes). The team is always friendly and I never feel like I'm being over-charged.I had a flat and they came to my work (which is a few feet from their shop) to fill my tire, so I could drive it safely to their shop. I also brought my car in for a state inspection and in the back seat had a windshield wiper that I forgot to replace. When I picked my car up from the inspection, the new windshield wiper was installed. Awesome customer service!

I called at 4:15pm asking if they were open for inspection stickers and the guy on the phone said yes but the machine shuts down at 5 p.m. he told me I would need to get there by 4:30 p.m. I left work promptly which is about 500 feet away and was at the counter by 4:22 p.m. where I was greeted with a smile. I told the guy behind the counter I was here for an inspection sticker and he told me that they are closed for the day. I told him I just called and the guy on the phone told me to get there by 4:30 p.m. To which he replied, "Three people came in since then."So in 7 minutes three people showed up, and there were only two customers waiting in the waiting room.On my way out one of them was called up to the counter because her car's ready.They could have had the decency to save me a trip and tell me on the phone to come back the next day instead of lying to me.

My tire was leaking air really quickly. The staff checked my tire right away and fixed it. I only waited about 15 minutes. Great service!

Good place to change oil and quick repair. Had a screw in my tire, they fixed it in 20 min, nice people. Discount if you work at the 500 old Connecticut path.

Very competent and fairly priced auto mechanics. I ve been bringing my family s fleet of cars here for almost ten years, and recommend them for service, major repairs, and tires.

This shop will provide sound work. The job will be completed with quality, but at an unrealistic charge to the customer. I had a starter placed in my vehicle that was marked-up almost 200% before labor. I understand that there will be a mark-up on parts (this is the nature of the business); however, Central Automotive Repair really takes the mark-up to the next level. Feeling like you are getting ripped off and actually getting ripped off are two different things - discerning the two may take researching the part you had installed. Additionally, the employee with whom I spoke, was rude; absolutely 0 customer service skills.In summary, quality work, BRUTAL PART(S) MARK-UP, poor customer service. If money is not an object and you simply just care about the job getting done then this is your place; otherwise, I would go somewhere else.

Place was recommended as my mechanic for 25yrs had a stroke...You need to make an appointment, only inspection can walk in. I made appointment for 8am.I was looking to get ac fixedAc compressor was needed and estimated at 1200, (800 for part 400 for labor and tax..)It didnt take long 20 mins for them to come to this conclusion.It would take 4hrs for the part to arrive once ordered before the installation could start...which would be a couple hours to do.I didnt have the day off so declined to a later date..Ac compressor which fits my auto is only 350 at autozone...with lifetime warranty after 20% discount.I was charged 32.99 for the analysis..1.00 for hazardous materials and 1.00 for parts..what parts?...35.05 total...Would be credited toward the 1200.00Also my battery case cover was ajar popping up my hood which i noticed driving down rt 9 after...pulled over and fixed battery casing so my hood closed properly.Will find someone else to put in my 350 ac compressor...

Very good first time experience had an oil change and one of the mechanics his name is Pablo was very kind he even fakes my tire pressure plus he was honest I've been to another place before they keep telling me I need new brakes and I know I don't at Central Automotives you will get honest answers to your questions I am very grateful that Pablo is my new mechanic I will refer Central automotives to all my friends from now on, I personally want to thank Central Automotives for a great customer service even the front desk gentleman was so kind friendly and helpful I give you guys definitely more than five stars I'm so glad I found Central Automotives there is nothing more better than an honest mechanic shop I recommend them to all of you you will not regret it they're awesome

Mark was great. Everyone at Central was polite & friendly and I had my car out of there within 24 hours of bringing it in (which had extensive damage). Thank you Central!
