Extremely satisfied with the service. I went to three different transmission shops, and NO ONE could find the problem of my transmission overheating. I knew it was my auxiliary cooling fan but could not find the root cause. I was referred to In-Gear by another muscle car enthusiast. Scheduled an appointment and within mere hours they discovered the root cause and explained the issue causing it. My new " go to" for transmission servicing.

These folks are the nicest people and I completely trust them. I'm fully convinced they don't need me as a customer, but it is because of how they treat me as a customer that they are always busy.I listed Brakes and Suspension as services rendered, but they didn't. I asked them to check both with the full expectation I needed them as my truck is getting long in the tooth. The let me know both were fine, notified me of an issue with the truck that could only be fixed at the dealership (so no money for them on phantom repairs) and only charged me a nominal fee for taking a look.This isn't the first time I've been there, as my truck has gone there for service since my warranty expired. I've been incredibly happy with being able to get appointments for service much faster than my dealership, the workmanship is great, and I can't stress this enough, I know I'm not getting raked over the coals.I would send anyone there without hesitation.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes

No one ever picks up the phone or returns calls. Find a better place that will respect your time.

Fortunately I've only had a need to take my car to In Gear a few times, and I won't go anywhere else as long as I continue to live within a reasonable distance of the place. Every member of the staff I've dealt with from the owner to the receptionist to the mechanics have all been extremely friendly. Their services are solid, they're very accommodating and I don't feel like I was gouged after I leave. They are usually busy so don't wait till the last minute, but they will do their best to get you in, plus I don't see that as a negative...if they have a lot of customers, to me it's an obvious sign they're a solid business or else no one would take their cars there, am I right?

If you are looking for a shop in the area call these guys first. I recently had my clutch changed here, a gamble in its own right for a car with 200K. On average, their quote was $600 less than the 3 other shops I called. The final price was exactly what they quoted, and the quality of work was outstanding. From start to finish I don't have a single complaint. I can't thank you guys enough for the great work, fair price and ease of scheduling.

Ross and his family are amazing. Carrie is usually the voice behind the phone. She is prompt to return calls, personable on the phone, and gets the answers you need. Ross, Chris, Dan, and crew are true wizards in the garage. I own McGoldrick Property Services LLC and bring all our trucks to Ingear. We also bring our families personal vehicles for repairs/tires/exhaust work. Typically they require appointments which is understandable as many shops operate in this fashion. The small town touch is still alive here. Grateful to have honest, knowledgable, and hard working mechanics in our small town of Douglas. Highly recommend.Services: Transmission, Carburetor cleaning, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Took my car there with the manual transmission stuck in 4th gear. Thought the transmission needed a rebuild. Turns out it was a shifter issue. Replaced the clutch because I knew it needed replacement. Did a great job and they were reasonably priced.

Went to In Gear for a quick shifting Turbo 350. First off, let me explain many, many parts were changed by previous garages, yet no one could find the issue. Called Ross and he was very easy to talk to. Told him all the issues, the parts that were already replaced..etc...Dropped the car off and he found the issue! I was stunned and so happy. Went and picked it up and he even showed me the problem part removed from my car. He then explained everything that was done to the car. I even had one of his close buddies build me a higher stall converter. Cannot say enough great things about Ross and his crew at In Gear. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend In Gear!!

Excellent work & service. Highly recommend. I was new to MA area moving in from out of state. Searched for some time before settling on In Gear as my car was very custom and required a real specialist. Took my Roaring Forties 1968 GT40 replica in to have the transmission/clutch assembly rebuilt and shift linkage taken care of. Since acquiring the GT40 in MI 5 years ago, had a chronic issue with the Audi 016 transmission (Mated to a race prepped Ford 302) that had never truly shifted well despite multiple repair attempts. Ross custom fabricated, modified, adjusted the shift linkage, had the clutch rebuilt as was difficult to find an exact replacement as this was already a custom modified clutch system by the kit car company, and carefully diagnosed the issues and rebuilt the transmission including synchro rings and new seals. Results: Outstanding. GT40 now shifts & operates as it alway should have. Also need to note Ross's team took extreme care of the car while in their shop handling it as if were their own (not a scratch - And I am quite particular about my cars). In Gear also treated us extremely fairly from a cost of repair standpoint. Can not praise Ross & his team enough. Definitely experts in their field and also good & honest people to work with.
