I walked in this place not expecting anything, I have an older car that has been fine for me but I'm in the reserves and just found out I'm heading on duty down to Virginia and then Indiana for 6 plus months and just knew my car wouldn't hack the commute to either one of those locations and I wouldn't feel safe. Although I've been working hard on my credit I was nervous about getting a decent car and someone who would understand my history. Donald was honest with me and laid down a great path to a great car and gave me great tips. I'm pleased with my experience with him and look forward to giving another great review about my new vehicle after a couple months of having it. Thank you so much.

Just had an incredible experience at Detour Cars. My mother and I went to look at cars originally with no intention of buying (though we were very quickly drawn to the HUGE selection of high quality cars). With her having good credit and me having no credit, we were a little concerned about pricing. We both work full time and have stable income, and Bill worked with us in a friendly and intelligent manner, explaining how things worked and giving plenty of advice for a first-time buyer like myself. He definitely knows what he's doing! There were no gimmicks, there was no pressure, no hassle, and no worries.He managed to get me an incredible deal on a 2014 Jeep Patriot. It's an absolute dream car, and he made it VERY affordable! Thank you Bill! I look forward to many years with my new car!

I went into Detour Cars not knowing what to expect after dealing with some previous dealerships that have been nothing but a huge waste of time however I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. Donald was extremely helpful and truly worked hard to find me a dependable car within my price range. He was very honest with me and made the entire car buying process a breeze. I will definitely go back to see Donald when I'm ready to trade in my car and hopefully get my husband that pick-up truck that he's been wanting!!

I ve had an amazing experience working with Bill at Detour Cars. I m a repeat customer, and after buying my first car from this dealer I knew I d be back. Unfortunately the car was totaled, and I immediately knew not to look anywhere but here. They work with you to ensure you re guaranteed your money s worth. Very trust worthy and I highly, HIGHLY recommend. 3 years later and I ve been meaning to update my review (which I was essentially pressured into posting as I was buying the car). First things first, they basically tell you which car you can get. So if you go in with a particular car in mind, I m not so sure that s the one they will show you. Also, when we went to test drive both cars purchased from here, the batteries were both dead . Had I driven both cars before purchasing them, I would not have because they both lagged when pressing on the gas. The cars are not cleaned, at least not thoroughly, before handing them over to the new owner. I found business cards from the previous owner, along with candy wrappers in the drivers side door. When I realized that the car was lagging, I called to have them take a look. I brought it and they told me nothing was wrong. I then took it to the Toyota dealership where it was corrected. I was sold into a 2 year warranty (they threw in an additional year at no cost for going back for the second car), but when I called to see if something was covered, they routed me to call the warranty company. The company then rerouted me back to Detour. I called multiple times and left messages and no one ever got back to me. I will personally not be going back, and advice you look elsewhere first. Adjusting to 2 stars because at least my car is still running.

Detour cars is where i pop my car buying cherry. As an Uber driver i was told it was near impossible to get a car there due to lack of income proof. But Donald was the one that came through for me and made a car owner. Not only that, i was able to walk out of there with a 2014 Camry with under 70k with a bad credit. I am thankful and appreciate the works that was put in to get me approved. I would definitely recommend those guys because they will do whatever the can to get you in a car and their innovatory is superb. ThanksThis is part 2 of the review, picked up my car today, a week later after the initial process. Man it was an experience I'll never forget, these guys at Detour Cars knows how to take care of their customer the best way they can. There was in issue with my insurance so it wasn't guaranteed I was gonna leave with the car but there's no I in team. Another gentleman by the name of Bill decided to step in and join the fight with Donald and right when I was about to leave be told me to hang on just a minute. And 30 minutes later I walked out with my car, Bill called my insurance that was supposedly closed and got in contact with an agent and persued to have the agent sent the right documents. It was one of those days I felt special because these guys made sure and did everything to make sure I got the car. Thank you Donald and Bill and detour cars, I highly recommend them

This was my third car purchase from them and this was the newest car with the least amount of miles I have ever had. They are friendly and have some great vehicles. Every transaction has gone smoothly and Donald is honest and personable. I received all of my paperwork and they were up front with everything.

I received a more than fair offer on my trade-in and an extremely manageable, affordable payment plan for the vehicle I was sold. Donald, the salesperson, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and I honestly believe the staff there worked to get me the best possible deal. I couldn't be happier with the results.

This is the worst place to buy a car...They will take advantage of you and sell you something that is not drive able . Any review about this place being a great place to buy a car is false do not believe it. Save yourself the aggravation! Just to let everyone know about the response from the dealer seems nice and correct. But who ever wrote has no idea of what happened. The 2002 Infiniti I bought was blue booked at about $1100. So you can see where they screwed me there. There was no 2 year nation wide warranty as I had declined it. The car was 13 years old and not drive able for the first 6 weeks as I had to have it towed back the once a week for about 6 weeks as it was nothing but problems.The car just stalled on me in the middle of the street with a family member inside which is not very safe to me. Also note the under bottom of the car was decaying from rust that I was not told about until I brought the car to my Mechanic. And I had also called about 5 times to speak to a manger and its been about 10 months + awaiting his call. Don't be fooled by their caring responses. Don't trust this place !!!

Me and my mom came here to find me a new car. I was in desperate need of a new car and having bad credit I was pretty sure I was going to be turned down. Donald was awesome. He made me and my mom feel at ease. The whole experience was highly satisfactory. He went out of his way to get me the best deal possiable. My new car is exactly what I was looking for couldn't be happier. My mom and Donald hit it off instantly chatting about the good old days. I definitely recommend that you come here for a used car, ask for Donald he is the best.

If your looking for a place to go to buy a car this is your place and BILL POWELL IS YOUR GUY ! I would recommend him to everyone I know . Me and my wife came here indecisive and bill took his time to help us through the whole process. His personality is phenomenal and he made everything so easy for us . He really is an amazing salesman while making us feel comfortable throughout the whole process! He definitely will be the only person we do business with from here on out !

Detour cars and Bill will be the only place I go from now on. I worked with Bill after my old Ford Explorer finally had enough and didn't pass inspection. I had a pretty tighno budget range but they were able to get me the finance needed with very little down. For those who want trucks, they definitely have a good range available with good turnover.Can't recommend them and Bill enough

Detour cars is great I had Donald helping me pick the right car for me. It was hard at first and Donald made magic happen when I thought it wasn't possible, after showing me a collection of cars to fit my needs he finally found the perfect car for me and its a 2015 Toyota Camry SE. Everything Donald and I were looking for and if you need a car good credit bad credit or maybe zero credit like I had you might get as lucky. I highly recommend Detour Cars for anyone searching for the right vehicle and while searching for the vehicle you need the right person by your side and I'm extremely thankful for Donald.

Love this place!!!!! Came in with unrealistic expectations expecting the world for nothing, and Brian went above and beyond to get me into a great car that fit my budget with very low miles. I can t stress enough how helpful he was and how pleasant the experience has been. They even stayed late for me on a Friday to pick up my new car! Love detour cars. They re truly the best!

Have to say I was a little apprehensive about buying a new vehicle. Searched for a long time since I knew I wanted a Jeep GC and they can be pricey. Well I was more than pleasantly surprised with my Detour Cars experience.Started with research online, found Detour had a great selection of Jeep GCs. Visited the lot a few times when they weren't open just to check them out. Found a couple I loved. So finally pulled the trigger.When I met with Bill Powell it couldn't have been an easier process. Now to be honest my credit was almost non-existent, let me just say when you get divorced don't close all your credit. Keep one card open & active. Bill got me approved in a few minutes but the rate was high, my fault - see the previous sentence. I left & was picking up the car the next day. Well to my surprise Bill got me a new interest rate less than half of the original one. The single digit rate saved me over $5000 on the life of the loan.We had one minor hiccup. After I drove for a couple days I noticed 2 things, my check engine light came on & a high pitched squeal which I knew was a belt. I called Bill and he got me in touch with Mike in service. Needless to say engine light was Evap seal / gas cap issue & it was a belt. It was rectified in less than a day!All in all I highly recommend Detour & Bill.

We recently bought a car here and Donald Durand took such great care of us. He will work with you and will get you a car that is affordable and dependable. These cars do not leave the dealership unless everything is gone over with a fine tooth comb. We will come back again for the next car!

My husband and I have been going through some tough financial situations and we went into Detour Cars with zero expectations. We needed a safe and reliable car big enough to fit our large family. Donald and the rest of the team at Detour Cars made that happen! They worked with us to not only find the perfect vehicle for our family, but to get us financed. Donald was very pleasant and patient. We have been turned down so many times, leaving me with tears. Today, I left with tears, only tears of joy! Thank you Donald for everything. We highly recommend Detour Cars! It's a new beginning for us!

If you are in desperate need of a new car and/or have bad credit, turn around and go somewhere else. This review is long, but I advise if you are considering Detour to read it all. We purchased a 2010 Nissan Rogue 3 months ago, with a pretty decent amount down, but bad credit, well all was said and done, interest was just about %100... so we're paying twice as much for a car that isn't even worth the price tag, and has been in and out of the shop since day 1. We should have known when they made up an excuse saying it wasn't ready to be test driven, but we had already had a rental for 2 months and NEEDED a car. Detour Cars prays on people like my fiance and I. They will do anything for a quick buck, including knowingly sell a lemon with safety issues to a family with one car and young children.Within 10 minutes of driving it off the lot, the rattling started. Then, we get home, we noticed the whole trunk area is blue and greasy feeling. It looked as if an entire bottle of laundry detergent was spilled back there and never got cleaned up. To add icing to the cake, on the same day, it failed to pass inspection due to a safety issue in the front tire and needed to be fixed immediately and should have never been driven in the first place. When I checked it out, I noticed all the tires looked very well worn, one was almost bald. When we tried to schedule the needed repairs, the only available appointment was a week later at 10 am on a Wednesday, to top it off, since their over-the-phone assessment of the necessary repairs should take less than 4 hours, we weren't entitled the rental we were originally promised. Thankfully I have friends and got help getting the car dropped off, because they wouldn't cover a tow truckI explained all of the issues we were experiencing to the "repair specialist" A second time and told him that he would probably need to drive the car to hear the rattling and he explained that he would fix everything.After picking up the car, he claimed that he fixed the tire and put a clamp on the heat shield. Within two minutes of driving off the lot it was rattling, when I got home I noticed none of the tires had been replaced, just rotated them and the almost bald one was put in the back. When I called to complain, they only offered a new appointment a month from then. Within a couple weeks of all this, the a/c condenser blew and needed to be replaced. They had no appointments for over a month, we had no choice, but to go through another repair shop using the warranty and had to pay $150. Which I'm trying to get in touch with them to be reimbursed, but no one has called me back, like ever. The connection point is faulty and needs to be replaced, so the a.c. now randomly stops working and needs to be plugged in and it still rattles when accelerating.. as time goes on, I'm beginning to notice touch up paint wearing and the bandaid repairs falling apart.. my 11 year old car ran much better. I'm very disappointed and feel totally taken advantage of.Do not use Detour Auto, do not believe Donalds lies.

Just purchased my second vehicle from Detour. I walked in and handed Donald Durand a list of somewhat unrealistic expectations. Trading in an upside down loan, adding sales tax, and getting me into my dream truck under a certain monthly budget. You guys never cease to amaze me! You made it happen! I had zero credit when i walked in two years ago, and because you gave me a chance when no one else would. I have been able to build my credit, followed the steps you all recommended, and came back for the vehicle i always wanted. Not only did you make it happen, but you came in 100 under my max monthly budget, AND lowered my APR% which only makes my credit score go up! Detour has my bussiness for as long as im driving. Walked into Detour Cars in Danvers, Ma. and was immediately welcomed by Donald. I stopped by in search of the perfect truck. I am a 20 year old landscaper with good credit but usually do not get taken serious by salesman due to my age regardless of my good standings. This was not the case with Donald. He listened to everything I wanted and ultimately got me into the truck of my dreams at a deal better than any other dealership could have pulled off. HIGHLY, let me repeat that, HIGHLY recommend going to Detour Cars for any of your car and truck needs. They WILL get you into the car or truck of your desire, and if they cant, than its simply not possible.Thanks again to Donald and the Detour team.

Never written a review before, but after i recently totaled my camry i was in need of a replacement. Found this place online and was happy I did. They had a lot of cars to pick from and the whole thing took less than an hour. Picked up my car a few days later and I cant say enough good things about these guys. My salesman was professional, courteous and patient. I will be telling my friends and family to check em out.

This was probably one of the first best experience I ever had. I didint expect to get approved after having bad credit! Even though I could not have the car I wanted Donald made it possible for me to get a car I would take no matter what! Bill Powell rocks! I was in a bind with banks and other loans affecting my credit do to a recent divorce. He pulled some strings and made the impossible happen. Very polite and down to earth. After hearing of my military experience he was thanking me more than I thanked him for helping get a truck I ve wanted for years now. I strongly recommend this place especially if your in the market for a truck! Thanks again Bill!!

I was in the market for a pickup truck and was doing my research for a few weeks as to what kind of truck I really wanted and where to buy from. I came across Detour Cars and was intrigued by their vast selection of trucks for sale. So, I decided to take the hour ride up on a Saturday morning just to see what was available. I was approached by Bill Powell (salesman) and started discussing what I was looking for. It was ironic because I had a couple of specific trucks in mind before I went there, but once I arrived and saw their selection, I saw one truck that just caught my attention. I then spent the next 3 hours checking it out, test driving it and debating on what I wanted to do and Bill was very patient and understanding considering it was going to be a big purchase for me. Once we sealed the deal, Bill and the team at Detour Cars went to work on finding me the best loan and within 30 minutes, I was all set. Very professional place and all of your concerns get addressed and taken cared of. I would highly recommend this dealership for their wide selection of vehicles, their professionalism and their honesty.Whenever I am in the market for a vehicle again, I'll be sure to pay them a visit!

Completely unimpressed! Told the salesman our budget, max on monthly payments, also that we had to have a 3rd row. We were assured he had plenty of vehicles that matched our needs. When asked to look at them, we were pressured into a credit check before looking. After over an hour the only vehicle they had with a 3rd row was 5k over our limit and over a $100 more monthly! When we asked about the cars on their website, we were told they only update the site every 10 days! Went to see a car they still advertise but don't even have! I'd give 0 stars if possible!

I began having car problems with my 03 nissan maxima and needed to get a new car asap so i could get to and from work. The first local place I found online was Detour Cars and I called them about an 08 acura i saw on the website. I talked to Donald and he seemed like a nice guy who wanted to find me a reliable and affordable vehicle. He told me to come in anytime and apply for credit even if I had bad or no credit at all (I had no credit). I went in with my father(who co-signed for me which helped a lot) and we talked to Donald about financing a vehicle and we got started right away finding which vehicle would be best for me. As I said I liked the selection of acura vehicles they had and they seemed to be my top choice. I also walked by an Infiniti G37x coupe which I loved but I figured it would be out of my price range and an unrealistic buy for me. After telling Donald my top choices on the lot and that the infiniti was my favorite, he told me he'll do what he can to fit the vehicles price into my financial plan. After a few phone calls to the bank and a little bit of negotiating, Donald got the price to drop dramatically and I ended up buying one of the hottest cars on the lot! Being 22 years old and having no credit I figured I would end up with a vehicle I liked, but nothing too special. Thanks to Donald I now have a car I love that will last me for years to come! Thank you Donald! You're the man!

This is my second vehicle from detour and I have to say these guys do it the best. Easy process and no games. My salesman was Don. First time I came here my credit was not that great, but 2 years later im back on track and now I bought my dream truck. Thanks again to the guys at Detour Cars.

I am a single mother of one. The 1st week of August my life it a very big bump or two. I woke up on Tuesday morning to see my car was being repo and it was my 2nd day at a brand new job that would ease all my financial issues.I had to call an explain my situation, luckly they are a great place to work.The finance company for the repo was in no way helpful. So my family helped me out and gave me some cash.I found Detour Cars on Google and went straight there.I was greeted by Donald immediately. I explained to Donald all of my issues in detail (bless him for dealing with me). I filled out the application and provided all documents they had requested by the next day.Odds where not in my favor for financing but Donald said lets give it a try. So we through a hail Mary.That Friday I signed paperwork for my 2014 Toyota Corolla. She is beautiful!!!!Donald made the entire experience pleasant, kept me informed and was very real. Donald kept the hope alive for me and everything fell into place.Thank you Donald!!!Ask for Donald you won't be disappointed
