They gave a very detailed estimate and honest assessment of the work that needed to be done.I was there after a fender-bender (I was rear ended) and the rear bumper & a quarter panel had to be replaced.While there, I had work done on my front bumperCar was ready early and looked brand new

I was told to bring my car in anytime during business hours when I called early in the morning, and explained what had happened to my car. After they spent several minutes assessing the damage, taking pictures and having me provide my insurance estimate, they told me they were totally booked for several weeks out and couldn t take anymore cars. If that was the case, why would they have gone through that whole process? Makes me think the damage to my car wasn t worth their business. Not sure, but regardless, I wasted a day and my time, as I brought my car in in the afternoon, and all other body shops were closed.I would not recommend them.

I was assigned this shop by Geico as it was a collision case. They kept my car for a month, didn t perform trial run before giving it back to me so when I started driving all the possible lights on dashboard turned on. I had to give it back again for another day or so. My car AC still doesn t work, refrigerant leaks constantly, AC vents are messed up. On top of all this today I found out that there is a leak in my car that s ruining my rear seats(I did think it was me who left windows open or something but it kept getting worse even after I made sure windows were closed all the time). I will not recommend this shop at all. Wait for months if you have to but not here.

This is a fantastic auto repair shop and they have fixed numerous issues with my vehicle over the last 5 years. They are always responsive and able to help in tight situations. I have worked closely with Peter; he has the utmost integrity and will never try to sell you something unnecessary. Don't go here if you have a newer car especially if its anything more than replacing a trim piece.**I don't usually wright reviews. If you are a 'car person', don't take your car here. Is it really worth the risk that you will have a similar experience to mine? **I had gone here with my old car for a quick repair a couple years ago, they were great. I then returned with my new car a year later, sadly after a bad accident. The shop struggled to get the car to look/function as good as new despite no limit on cost from my insurance. When they first told me it was ready, I picked it up, only to have it towed back because they forgot to tighten a radiator hose, and my radiator drained out on the way home not to mention they failed to repair my brakes, causing me to almost get in an accident on the same drive home. Eventually I got my car back, in the end the biggest outstanding flaw was a bad paint job, but they refused to fix that.They claimed they did there best to repair the car, sadly they don't have the skill or desire to fix cars properly. After my car left the shop I had to take it my dealership ~6 times to fix small issues that Hynes had missed or skipped.

Kind heart and good work too - a great combo! I've had my cars repaired here a few times over the years, and they always did good work, and gave what I feel, were honest evaluations. Today, I found myself stuck near their shop with a flat tire, and they came to my car with equipment to change to my spare. A little later, still nearby, I noticed I needed air in the tire and went back to the shop, where they noticed while filling the tire, that the valve was broken, leaking air, and so they replaced the tire valve. When I went to the office to pay, they wouldn't accept anything, and simply said "Happy Thanksgiving", which indeed, gave me something more to be "thankful" for! Please do *not* try to take advantage of their response, but just know that they treated a 'stranded' customer above and beyond with kindness, professionalism and competency - a wonderful combination in our commercial world!

UPDATE:Though I have yet to utilize any of the services at Michael J. Hynes Auto Repair, several associates have reached out to me to try to rectify my situation (see INITIAL REVIEW below). Unfortunately, I use social media inconsistently, so I did not notice their attempts until very recently.I have decided to update my review to "5 Stars" in light of the fact that Hynes Auto Repair has made every effort to address my concerns.To those of you who are looking to potentially send your car to this company: I'm sorry that I can't give you any first-hand feedback about the quality of their work. I can at least inform you that they seem to take customers' concerns seriously.---INITIAL REVIEW:I recently moved to Chestnut Hill, and after doing a little research into local mechanics, I was looking forward to testing out Michael J. Hynes Auto Repair. Their ratings impressed me, and reviewers lauded their integrity.However, I can neither confirm nor deny these initial impressions, because they did not call me back to confirm my appointment.If you visit their website, you will find the option to request an appointment by email. You simply fill out an online form, describe the work that needs to be done, and list a few days on which you will be available to drop off your car.I thought this feature was pretty cool, especially because I had been making hour-long calls all day to change the addresses on all of my credit, insurance and billing accounts. Thus, I double-checked to make sure that I had followed the online instructions, and then I submitted my request.The website told me that my request had been submitted successfully and that I would receive a response shortly. I waited two full days, after which I checked both my phone for missed calls and my email's spam folder for hidden emails. There was no response. In fact, to this day (over a month later), I have never heard back from them.Seeing as my car needed a quick fix, my roommate suggested that I head over to the Mobil One on Needham Street. Once there, I was in-and-out in 30 minutes, no big deal.I would be more than happy to edit or remove my review should I receive a sufficient explanation as per what happened. I don't want to trash a company for one mistake; after all, perhaps this was an anomaly.Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing. All I know is that I fell through the cracks, and that's not cool.

I needed two large panels of my car's body replaced and a mirror after my parked car was hit. Hynes Auto Body did an amazing job! They were fast, updated me throughout the process, and the work is extremely high quality. When I picked up my car it was not only completely fixed but they cleaned it as well . It felt like a new car. I would definitely come back!

Steer clear. My insurance company recommended this place, so I went along with it. The people at Hynes are nice and all but some of the work they did on my car was rushed and sloppy. Yes, it looks like they did most of the "big stuff" correctly, but I'm spending my own time and money to re-install the smaller parts, as most of them were not properly secured. Although they did throw in a free cleaning after the repair, they created stains on parts of the interior and left a film on the dashboard, creating even more work for me.

My go to place for all of my auto service needs. Reasonable pricing, top notch dependable customer service. Hector, Kenny, the entire Chestnut Hill crew never fail to deliver the most satisfactory service. They will give you the best most honest estimate and always do the work as they promised. And they are going high tech with online appt reminders and such!

Really quick service! Great people to deal with and will definitely go again... hopefully i wont but it may happen. They went over what I expected by cleaning and shining up my car. replaced the light bulbs in my fog lights even thought I never mentioned them being out.The last place i went to before this took over a month to fix my car and they didn't really treat me well. I'm glad I found these guys.

What a TERRIBLE experience with Hynes Auto in Chestnut Hill today, October 22, 2016. I had called in earlier in the week to make an appointment for a MA state vehicle inspection. I was told on the call I did not need an appointment, and that the inspection would take "no more than ten minutes." I asked the earliest I could show up and was told 8a.This morning I arrive at Hynes Auto promptly at 8a. I stand in their office about four minutes before someone greets me. At the time I am told the one person that does inspections is running late and will arrive at 8:30a. No worries I thought, things happen to all of us. At 8:40a I call back into the office (even though I am parked just outside). The lady that answers now tells me that Hector, the gentleman that does the inspections, "gets here when he gets here on Saturday's." When I then recite back to her what I was told earlier in the week, I was called a liar and then told that inspections "happen when they happen" on Saturday'a. What an AWFUL experience. I would rate ZERO stars if I could, these people have no respect for a customers time. I left and went to Audy's Mobile down the street for the inspection. I refuse to give my money to these thieves.

Called ahead and was scheduled to come in at 530 in the evening, a few weeks out. Showed up at 530, and was told the person I scheduled with had already left, it was too dark to take pictures and to come back before 5. I left work early to get there by 530. Not open on weekends. No thanks!

I recently used Hynes after my car was hit in my work parking lot damaging the front driver side quarter panel. I asked Ken if he could repair the dent as well as a small rust bubble beginning near my wheel well. Ken and the team initially repaired the fender, however after the job was completed I noticed rust was still present and coming through the new paint.I contacted him about the issue, and he agreed to take my car back and complete the work in the most professional manner possible. The car came back great.Thanks to Ken and the team for getting the job done, but especially Ken for being an absolute professional in dealing with a tough situation.

I have been going to Hynes Auto for many years. Our family has three cars and we need an auto repair shop that is reliable and trustworthy. I have always found Hynes Auto to be reliable and trustworthy. For example, my 1994 Lexus GS 300 recently had problems with the electrical system. I was concerned that I would need a new alternator, but I only needed a new battery. I believe that a different auto repair shop would have told me that I needed a new alternator, too. They have saved me a lot of money over the years by only doing the work that is needed and not selling me repairs and services that I do not need.

My tesla needed Auto Body work from an accident. Hynes handled all aspects of the repair and was able to get the necessary tesla parts, provide excellent body work (tesla's are a bit tricky), these guys know how to handle all the technical aspects of the tesla! They even have tesla's themselves. REAL TESLA EXPERTS. Great work on time and convenient to rental car folks!Service: Body & Trim

I visited this shop because it was close to work. I just needed an inspection. The shop manager and mechanic discussed their concerns with me; car was inspected in no time at all. Really knowledgeable and nice employees.

Super quick inspection sticker with no wait. I called in mid day on a Tuesday though so it could be that, but it usually takes a lot longer.Will definitely come here again.

I came in to get a noise in my car checked out, and the guy at the front asked me to pay $110 just for looking at the car.Needless to say, I left and will not be coming back.
