I am staying with a relative in the area during the quarantine and needed an oil change and tire rotation. Matt was very friendly and honest with me, delivering same-day service when I did not expect it. The total cost was a little higher than I expected but probably the price you pay for synthetic oil. I will definitely return if I need auto repair in Chatham and recommend Matt s Automotive highly to those in the Chatham/Harwich area.

Being from out of state, we originally went to Matt's based partially on reviews that we read online. After a positive experience with their work on our 2006 Grand Caravan in Jan of 2021, we did not hesitate to use them again when our 2010 Subaru Forester needed emergency repairs to it's exhaust system today. To sum up: nice people doing quality work at reasonable cost. I have had several instances of requiring automotive service during trips to Chatham, and have had excellent experiences with Matt's Automotive. I have found them to be unfailingly honest. On at least two occasions they very easily could have performed and charged me for expensive work that I thought might be necessary, but which they determined was not required. Had they done so, I would not have known the difference; but they chose to do -- and did -- the right thing. In addition, I have found them to be fair, caring, helpful, and very nice to deal with. I recommend them without hesitation

I must write a review after seeing some of the other reviews. In my experience Matt's Automotive Service has been absolutely stellar. My mom and dad and I have done business with Matt for years. I took my first car to Matt to have it checked out before I bought it. Matt was great and pointed out what things might have to be fixed but that he thought it was a good car. My parents always go to Matt with their vehicles both for oil changes as well as repairs. In fact though my parents recently have traded their vehicles Matt kept them road-worthy for over 200,000 miles each. My family and I have total confidence in Matt and his staff. They have always provided excellent and prompt service! The Dykens Family

I have been taking an assortment of cars, foreign and domestic, to Matt's for repairs for close to 20 years and have been totally pleased with his work. Matt and Bill are very good at diagnosing and problems always get fixed the first time. Most recently, I dropped my SUV off yesterday at 4PM for brake work and the car was ready today at 1PM. Matt also alerted me to some wear in a bushing that will need replacing in another 10,000 miles. I appreciate their helping me anticipate situations before they become debilitating! Having read the other reviews that are not so favorable, my experience over a very long time is that Matt's Automotive has been nothing but totally positive, helpful, reliable and fair.

I take all my vehicles to Matt. I run a small business in the area and when it comes to a work vehicle needing repairs it's typically somewhat an emergency. He has always got me and my guys back on the road expeditiously.

Came to Chatham from WMass for a weeks vacation and had an issue with our vehicle on the drive out. I called several garages and Jeff from Matt s garage was the first to call back. He got us in the shop right away and repaired a loose heat shield at no charge. Great folks and great service. Highly recommend!

Our family was on vacation and traveling near Chatham when our car overheated. We brought it to Matt's because it was the closest to our breakdown. Not only was the repair done correctly and reasonably priced, they worked hard to fit us in so that we had our car back within 24 hours. Our vacation was back on track quickly.

Recently went to Matt s for first time to have a failed driver side window regulator and motor replaced on my 1994 Cavalier. It was ONLY shop that I contacted who was willing to use parts that I needed to buy directly from NAPA due to order delivery timeframe and cost. Installed them and charged me labor of $125 which was just fine! Wish I would have used this shop before!

I had an issue with my front brakes. I spoke with Matt and he said to bring my truck in the next morning. He called at 2:00 that afternoon and it was all done. Very quick service and very accommodating. Would recommend without hesitation. Thanks Matt !!Service: BrakesService: Brakes

The guys at Matt's helped us out when a break locked up on our Hyundai. We were on the last day of our vacation and they worked hard to get us up and running again. They could have tried to take advantage of the emergency but, instead, they were professional and accommodating. They contacted the dealer to get a part and worked with our warranty company to minimize our co$t.

Matt's Automotive provides great service. Not only did his staff come to my house and diagnosis a difficult problem they promptly repaired it as well. The people that make up his staff are well trained in all aspects of automotive repair and service.

Our car was stuck at the end of our vacation, with a key that wouldn't turn. They fixed it with some grease and sent me on my way with no charge. They certainly could have gotten away with charging me or suggesting further repairs were needed, but they were honest and got me home in time instead. Much appreciated!

We have been bringing our vehicles to Matt & Jeff for routine maintenance and the occasional unexpected problem for over 12 years. They are always trustworthy, thorough and fair on price.

I took my car there for service, oil change, rotate tires, check it out, etc.. The guy serviced the transmission, which had been serviced the year before! I told them this prior to leaving the car there, and was blown the F*&* away when he slapped me with a bill for $750!!! Total scam, never again.BEWARE
