Mom's transmission went only 100k Miles. He got me one w under 12k installed. Runs great so far

After having full brakes and rotors replaced, 1 year later I had a flat tire. When completing the repair of the tire I was told I needed new rear brakes and rotors. I questioned how that could be possible when they had just been done a year prior, so I returned to AAMCO to have them relooked at. At that time I was told that because I street park, my brakes were likely to experience accelerated wear. This sounded odd considering the volume of cars that street park in Boston and the fact that most of them likely aren t replacing brakes annually. Either way, AAMCO replaced the brake pads and sent me on my way. Now again, 1 year later I went for my emissions test and failed due to the rear brakes needing replacing. I was so fed up I took the car to a new mechanic at the recommendation of the emissions testing facility. When asking the new mechanic if I should be replacing brakes annually or if street parking might be causing accelerated deterioration of my brakes, he simply laughed and said, that s not a thing, you shouldn t need to replace brakes more frequently than every 5k miles . Long story short, learn from my mistake- save your time, money and frustration by going to a more reputable mechanic that does the job right the first time!

Excellent work for a fair price. My daughter s car broke down and we just happened to find this shop. They did exactly what they said they would, in the time frame that they estimated, and for the price they quoted. They were also very helpful and pleasant. You all did more then a great job and I appreciate the knowledge and everything that was passed over to me about what was going on with my vehicle and recommendations. You didn t try to take advantage and did your best to save me money. you guys are great and I ll be coming back. Also, to anybody looking for good honest individuals who do good quality work, Here it is. It s hard to come by these days . great service great staff Thanks

I was referred to AAMCO in Charestown by another shop. Great service by the AAMCO team. I brought my car here for the first time and they were able to take me next day. After they examined the issues I was concerned with they gave me a call and were able to give me a best and worst case scenario with a general range of how the costs may fluctuate, which I very much appreciated. They were able to finish with my car in a timely manner and I had my car back faster than I expected and for a cost much lower than I expected. I will be returning for my future maintenance.

I was so bummed when Mike's Auto in Union Square closed, and so excited to see that Mike had taken over the Aamco just down the road in Charlestown. I have relied on Mike for almost 9 years he always treats me with respect and explains exactly what's wrong with my car in a way I can understand. His prices are reasonable and he's always very fast and accommodating to my schedule for dropping off/picking up my car. I can't recommend Mike enough and will follow him anywhere he goes (though I hope he stays at the new location for a long time!).Services: Exhaust, Tires, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes

Thank you so much Mike in Somerville, MA.You was very up front about maybe a delay because of parts/delivery. Mike said if we have all the parts we can turn it around in 2 days. I dropped it off 3/14 11:00am Mike called me to pick it up on 3/16 9:00am.Now that s how you keep America s Going! by keeping us small business able to work.Service: Transmission

As we were at the midpoint of our vacation to Boston, we were forced to get off of the NJ Turnpike due to warning lights on our dashboard. Thank goodness a competitor sent us to Aamco! The guys here are honest, efficient, and fix problems at reasonable prices. I've brought my mid 2000s car here for years as it's slowly breaking down and I've had only good things to say. Even after the last time I brought it in and shortly after there was a rattling noise that I thought was the transmission that they missed. It turned out to be a railing piece of the exhaust and they charged me nothing to fix it.

Mike and Mike Jr just took over in March 2020 and are wonderful. Professional and honest. I know nothing about cars but Mike Sr didn't talk to me like I was an idiot but explained things to me so I would understand.
