I went here for my inspection on my car and they told me i needed front end work. Proceeded to tell me i needed tie rods replaced in the front. For 3 weeks they refused to give me a written quote!!!!! I now have filed a complaint with the state against them for false failure of inspection. They lied to me, my car never needed tie rods!!!!! i went to another shop and was told i was being scammed. The state of Mass even said to me they have to provide a written quote, but the man there laughed in face the last time i asked for it and said WHAT ARE U GONG TO ABOUT< I DON'T HAVE TO GIVE YOU ONE. Well now that they will be visited by the state and fined lets see who is laughing.

The folks at Five Star are great! They go out of their way to quickly repair your car and work to find solutions that match your budget. As someone without much car knowledge, I ve found I can absolutely trust their judgement and expertise.

Nahed is a patient and trustworthy man. Labor costs are fair, and they do a steady business with return customers and word-of-mouth recommendations. You can feel safe leaving your vehicle with these guys.

Very accommodating. They did repairs on my car without an appointment. Guys are all friendly. Reasonable on pricing. Also do inspection stickers.

Stopped by as my brakes were making a rubbing noise. Was told that I most likely needed new pads, rotors, calipers and brake lines on both sides of the rear and it would cost $850. What a funny guy! Went to another mechanic I knew I could trust but is kinda far away and was told that my brake pads were only 10% worn and that all I needed was a brake service where they took it all apart, cleaned everything, greased it, and put it back together for $180. No parts needed and it runs great. It was just gummed up due to snow, salt and sand. I would NOT ever go back to five star, they are predators and will rip you off!Service: Brakes

I am so impressed with Nahed and his team. I've brought a few cars there every time for various issues; oil changes, inspections, repairs, and every time they are fast, extremely nice, and very up front and honest about what needs to happen. They aren't trying to swindle you for money, they simply try and do the best job and so far they have. I've been a few times with my 4 and 2 year old boys and the whole staff treats them like they are their own children. Very very impressed.

I've been using 5 Star for a few years now and Nahed and his team have always treated me well. I feel confident that they only do what's needed and it's good value. Often I've not been charged if no work was needed - despite their time and effort in investigating. Nahed is the owner of Five Star he has taken care of my vehicle for the past 4 years he's honest knowledgeable and fair he always seems to be lower priced for a job than any of the other garages in the area of the North Shore he has a crew of very good personal and knowledgeable mechanics.For all of these reasons his garage is and will continue to be where I go when I need work done on my vehicle as long as I am living here on the North ShoreServices: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

I brought my van in for a heater repair, they called me an hour later and said that it was an easy fix and under $300 to complete. A couple hours later I received another call, it was taking more time than expected and it was now going to cost around $400. That evening they called again, I expected them to tell me the van was done, but instead they wanted to tell me a part was "stuck". I drove over and they explained the issue, I kept asking for an estimate on what this was going to cost, instead of giving me an answer they kept telling me what a dealer would charge for this. Finally after some back and forth they finally said $650, including the oil change I was also having done. I was disappointed, but happy to get an answer and left. There were other customers in the room as well (if you see this please reach out) The next afternoon the van was done, I had my card ready to pay and they tell me the bill is $932! As you can imagine this was extremely frustrating. When I told them this was not what we agreed they got extremely angry and began yelling. I asked for the number to the customers who had been waiting while we spoke, but they instead told me they were going to call the police on me. I suggested that was a good idea for both sides. Unfortunately since I did not get this price agreement in writing the officer could not help me but they were extremely helpful in explaining the procedure to solve this in civil court. This is a large amount of money for me, and a big hit to my bank account and life. I left very upset that someone could so blatantly lie like this, and take advantage of an unknowing customer. Make sure to get any estimate in writing, this guy can't be trusted.

Friendly & respectful service; reasonably priced; busy station ~ due to great service, so there's sometimes a bit of a wait - but everyone ultimately wins !!!!!!! Nahed (the owner... a Family business?), can be mistaken as abrupt, but pay it no mind, at his core, he is kind & considerate, quick witted with a great sense of humor with a laugh to match!Service at the pump is a treat. I also find the sign-in-book an appreciative & novel attention to detail. Two down, with another up-coming, altogether new issue for repair. Five Star lives up to its name

We ve gone here for vehicle inspections for the last few years. Today, I went there for my inspection. They apparently couldn t do the fee as a credit transaction and insisted on a debit which, these days, I m uncomfortable with. As I put in my PIN, the service person stood right next to me where he could see the numbers.When I got home, I called to say that I had been uncomfortable with this and why. The person I was speaking with got very argumentative and told me that I was showing no respect for him or the company. I hung up rather than be yelled at. He is correct with that. I have lost all respect for this business and their service.

When Nahed took over, The place was great and I loved to taking my car there and I always got taken care of. He bought it from a guy who was great at what he did and we hoped the service would continue. I ve got to say the last few times I went there greatly disappointed me and they d be lucky if they were 2 Star at this point. The service started to slide a while ago and I hoped it was just a hiccup but it wasn t.My brakes were bad, car was shaking bad so I brought my car in to get them fixed and get an oil change as well. Tells me it s ready so I go pick it up, get on the highway, same issue so I took it back. He works on it again and a day or 2 later calls and says it s ready. I have to go into Boston so I get on the highway and THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN!!! I limp back over and leave a message for Nahed to call me. Calls me in the morning and tells me he tried to save me some money by just reusing the BROKEN parts! I said I appreciated that but had he asked, I would have told him to get new parts and do it right the FIRST TIME!! Go get my truck and he had the nerve to charge me an extra $100. I was without my truck for 5 days so he didn t save me any money, he cost me time and money. I let it slide but I wasn t happy and let him know.I figured one more shot when my alternator went, big mistake. My alternator went while I was on the highway. I managed to get off an exit and got a tow truck to take it to Five Star. Had to lock for my remote because I don t use it anymore really and thought the battery was still good in it. Dropped it off at the shop and he called me in the morning saying he couldn t shut the alarm off so that was my bad and I apologized. Sad he d take care of it he d let me know. Kept calling throughout the day to see what was going on and he didn t call me back.Finally calls me tells me it s ready, I show up charges me an extra $150 for a battery that I didn t request or consent to. Ask him what the hell was going on he said he always changes batteries when he changes alternators and I said that s my car, not yours. Paid him the extra 150 because I was just glad to get my car back but if he was trying to tell me he didn t want my business anymore I got the message loud and clear. He had no right to make decisions about my vehicle without consulting me first or getting my consent and he did it a couple of times. I d given a fair amount of business but oh well.The next repair I went to Loose Nut garage and they were great so that s where I m going from now on. I was really rooting for Nahed and I really wanted to continue using the garage but somewhere along the way something changed and I don t know whether he s got too much going on, he s not paying attention to his mechanics or what but not only will I not recommend Five Star anymore I will discourage people from going there.

I always trust my car repairs with Nahed, the hardworking, honest owner of Five Star. I always know when I take my car in for repairs, I am getting a fair deal and quality work. It is nice knowing there is an auto repair shop down the street that I have confidence taking my cars to. Don't waste your time going to the dealer for repairs. Nahed at Five Star is the place to trust!

Please do not take your car here! My engine stalled during operation so I had it towed to Five Star. They told me what they thought was wrong and fixed it for more than even the dealer would have charged me. In addition, when I went to pick up my car i was informed that the check engine light had turned on but "don't worry, it's just an electrical problem". They also used nearly a quarter tank of gas to "test the car" and make sure it was running properly. No sooner did I leave the shop than my engine stalled again, exactly like it did before. It turns out that my "electrical problem" was that the whole computer had gone bad, and needs to be replaced completely. Not only that, but the mechanic I now have my car at thinks they may have installed a used part into my car (They also have minimal guarantees on parts they install). Expensive mistake!

Very deceiving with their gas prices. They only have 2 grades of fuel but 3 prices. This is because they're one of these places that has different prices cause they prefer cash. Very shady. If you're going to pay with debit/credit go somewhere else they're surrounded by other full serve stations that have one price and 3 different grades of fuel.

It's a good shop. Took me in for an oil change and got me out within 20 min. Also pointed out a few potential problems my vehicle could develop. Great bunch of gentlemen

This is the third time I've shown up when something goes wrong with one of our cars and they fix it quickly and completely. The pricing has been much lower than the dealer. Employees seem like good guys.

This place is extremely unprofessional. I went in for a simple repair and they tried pushing all sorts of unnecessary fixes on me. I tried to be polite but the owner was acting worse than a car salesman with their pressure sales. I wouldn t recommend anyone bringing their vehicle here.

Waste of time and money. Just head to the dealership if you can. It might be more expensive, but at least you won t waste an entire day waiting for your car to be looked at only to be told that they can t fix it, which they ll charge you for.

Went to get a sticker for my car here today and they damaged a piece of trim. The owner, Nahed, attempted to just pop the pieces back into place but they were damaged and cracked. Got a quote from a body shop and Nahed refused to pay for the damages. Going to have to settle in court because of this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.UPDATE/Resolution: Took Nahed to court, where he tried to intimidate me by saying "hes been through this before and he's never lost, and that I was going to lose". Well, I WON my case, and he was order to pay me.

One of the mechanics verbally assaulted my husband over an error on THEIR part and their inadequacy. Considering legal recourse; do not take your car here!

Best, most reliable mechanics I've ever had. And they also always have great gas prices.
