Great service as always from their entire team. Dropped by with yet another nail in my tire and they had it fixed in minutes. I've had much more involved repairs done by them as well and they always explain their work thoroughly and include pictures/other details of the repair. I also find it extremely helpful that they keep a history of the vehicle repairs as well.

So glad I found AFA Auto Repair to work on my BMW E39 !!Ben and the entire team at AFA are true professionals. Ben diagnosed my car when it would not start recently (new fuel pump needed) and when a part broke during testing in the engine compartment, he told me he was going to replace it free of charge!! Now that is honesty and exceptional service that you won't find at most auto repair shops. They provided me with one of their loaner cars (no charge for loaner) and their price for the overall service was very fair. Highly recommend!

Easily the best auto body shop I ve been to. Everything they do is communicated clearly. Everything that requires repair is shown online and explained in detail that s easy to understand. Staff is nice, prices are fair(actually cheaper than they originally quoted). Have the ability to communicate via text which is great when you don t have the ability to talk on the phone. Will 100% be going back to them with any auto issues I have.

Ethan and the whole crew did a fantastic job facilitating a speedy repair of our Nissan Versa. Despite not having an appointment we were promptly seen and assisted. Every step of the process was thoroughly explained and the work itself was excellent. They took the time to make sure I was able to get to and from work while the car was being repaired and kept me updated with regular communication. Could not recommend their service highly enough!

I was given a repair estimate by a local VW dealership, I went to Amesbury Foreign Auto to verify that these repairs were necessary. They found 2 other issues that the dealership missed. They did an excellent job taking care of the 4 issues instead of 2 and still did it for less than the cost of the dealership quoted. I am very happy with their service. Had a water pump replaced on a mk6 gti. Had them do an intake valve carbon clean at the same time. They were able to reduce the price due to the shared labor with the water pump replacement.They got the work done ahead of schedule, communicated during the process, and have a really nice online system that reports out inspection results, estimates, and pictures of the findings/repairs.Overall, great experience. Really can't ask for more out of a shop.

I have been meaning to bring my 2008 Tacoma here to get checked out, but I tend to not do things until it becomes a crisis. (I became the owner of this truck halfway through 2019). The first snowstorm of the year, led to that crisis, as I had an error on my 4-wheel drive and it no longer engaged. I called and spoke to Ethan and told him what was going on and that I would also need a loaner vehicle as this is my daily driver and I work out of town. Ethan was very accomodating and got me scheduled in a reasonable amount of time. They did a full inspection, and in addition to the 4-wheel drive issue, I was going to need to address my clutch, which I knew was on borrowed time, and my front brakes, rotors, calipers, pads and lines. As much as I wasn't thrilled to do all this at once, I knew that as soon as I brought this in the clutch replacement was inevitable. They communicated throughout the process and it took about 10 days to complete, with me driving the loaner the entire time. This will now be my go to place for any further issues with the Taco. Very grateful to have such an honest and communicative repair shop in my hometown.

I've known and used Ben since before he aquired & created AFA for my Acura and now my Kia. Same great honest, knowledgeable & trustworthy person/service tech and now business owner who continues providing both great customer service with his office personel up front & techs in the back.Trust, honesty and customer service, the trifecta of any great small business.

Stopped by for an inspection, staff was helpful, they had snacks and coffee while I waited. Even though they were busy the place is so clean you could eat off the floor. Will return.

We recently moved to Amesbury from Martha's Vineyard and were anxious to find a good reputable auto repair shop to service our BMW and Mercedes vehicles. AFA was recommended to us by another customer who raved about their professionalism and courtesy. We found this to definitely be the case and were exceedingly well pleased with their work. Ethan, the manager, could not have been more courteous and helpful! I took my 2006 Toyota Prius with 250,000 miles to AFA Auto Repair to address an issue with the hybrid system. I couldn t be happier with the experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming. They took the time to thoroughly explain the work that needed to be done.The team was incredibly thorough in their execution of the work. I was visiting in Amesbury when car developed a very slow leak in tire. AFA had great reviews so I took a chance and just showed up. They did not disappoint! Examined car-complete with free safety inspection, discussed the problem with me, fixed it and out the door I went. Very courteous staff and comfortable waiting room. Highly recommend a visit if you need car service in this area.

Every step of my service has been a joy. The staff is very professional & friendly. From the phone call to schedule and stepping in the establishment I was blow away. It s hard trusting an auto shop when your a new client looking for a mechanic. You wonder if they are capable & worry of being overcharge for services you don t need. I came in with A/c problems my Honda dealership couldn t get right for the past 3 years always breaking when spring comes around. After a few test they found out I had a leak & and instead of just ordering a new air compressor for 1,500 that would probably leak out the recharge next spring I saved! The staff will educate you and provide photos of the findings when inspecting your car. Turns out the dealership was not taking great care of my car and they addressed a few other issues I was not aware of. My friends mentioned this shop as a recommendation and I am so happy I came here.If you re looking around for a new mechanic look no more! Not only is AFA Auto Repair professional, reasonable and friendly, but they now provide a complimentary car if they can not remedy your car immediately! You just pay for the gas you use! The waiting area is clean and comfortable. I went here after having a less than happy experience at the dealership when dealing with my sunroof. They went above and beyond at Amesbury Foreign Auto to make sure my sunroof was draining properly so I didn't have any leaks in my car anymore. They did a complimentary inspection to see if anything else needed to be done, and never pressured me into doing anything more than I asked. The auto techs were also nice enough to talk to me about future cars I was looking at. All round great people here, reasonable price and great customer service.

I wish I could give them 6 stars! Ben, Ari, Owen and the entire crew at Amesbury Foreign Auto are truly top notch, the best around. Dealing with car trouble can be stressful (especially when it's you're kids first car and it's an Audi) . So right away they made me feel comfortable and confident that we were at the right place for repairs. Their communication is key - I was never left wondering what was going on. Through text, email, phone calls - they kept me up to date and involved in the entire process. I called this place and asked if they could fix my 2005 f150 that had a blown out spark plug and what the time frame would be? I was told that they could fix it if that was actually the problem even if they had to put a heli coil in it,well I had it towed there on a Thursday morning after I spoke with them accepting it,well I got a call on Monday stating that yes it was a blown plug and it would cost $400+ if it all went well,and I'd hear from them soon,we'll I got a call Tuesday about 3:30 and they said they can't fix it because the tap they have isn't long enough and it would work if they had a special skinny socket for the tap, but they don't and can't fix it and suggest I have it towed to the place that fixed it last time it blew out a plug,I initially didn't have it towed there because they couldn't get to it for a week as they are very busy,so now I have to go pay over $200 so I can get it towed to the original place that can fix it in an hour,so no i am not very pleased with their service,by the way I found a long 14 mm tap on line for $ 27 at orielly auto parts,why couldn't they find this as easy as i did?

Had a great experience dealing with AFA Auto Repair. The personnel working there are very kind and clear with the repair path they take with your vehicle. The auto technicians are very knowledgeable and were able to diagnose a very strange issue going on with my car's electrical charging system. Very fair with the overall cost to do the repairs. AFA fixed my leaking water pump in my 2013 Audi Allroad. Great service and proactive communication throughout the process. They had my car back to me by the end of the week with an upgraded water pump installed (aluminum instead of plastic). The experience couldn t have been better. Amesbury Foreign Auto is absolutely the best out there! They are accommodating, the kindest, friendliest, and most thorough. They patiently explain things to me since my car knowledge is limited, without making me feel silly for asking questions. Also, Ari is the best!! Can t say enough great things about this place.

A+: I was in the area and had a belt break due to a faulty pulley. I knew there was a shop nearby and managed to get my car in the parking lot. Immediately I was greeted by friendly staff eager and attentive to my issues and ready to start the repair process. The mechanics diagnosed the immediate concerns and future repairs, and ordered the parts expedited from the Napa down the street.The waiting area is very nice and comfortable and they even let my dog in which was incredible. Amesbury Foreign Auto has been our family mechanic for over 15 years. I have owned several VW's, and AFA have always been accessible, honest, and fair in helping to diagnose and work on any issues. When I bought my used 2014 VW Jetta Hybrid this year, they performed a thorough used-car inspection and put my nerves at ease. Ari and Ben are wonderful people and are very experienced in working with vehicles and the folks who drive them. I cannot say enough good things about Amesbury Foreign Auto and would recommend them as a trustworthy auto mechanic to anyone locally. Thank you so much for everything!

Ben and Ari are a great team. My van was working so hard and I didn't know why. Ben and his team looked at my van and explained an oil change and recommended the brakes be serviced. I appreciate the time taken before and after by Ari and time during they took to explain what was best for me. I feel safe driving around again. Ben at Amesbury Foreign Auto - and his great wife, Ari- are an amazing team who know the value of great service at a great price. We ve been bringing our cars there for over four years. Ben has been spot on with all the diagnostics in both our vehicles. In many visits he has never kept the car a moment more than he said it would take. The pricing is always very reasonable - cheap compared to a dealership and better. They now wrap the steering wheels and do other sanitation measures due to COVID. Brought the Mazda in for some routine maintenance and for a second opinion about an exhaust issue. Happily the exhaust issue turned out to be nothing dealer had said it was good to have the right information explained well, preventing a costly unwarranted repair.
