My family has been using Abington Automatic Transmissions since I was in diapers. They fixed my very old 2003 Ford Windstar, it needed new transmission lines. They got the job done in less than 2 full days and the price was almost priceless. They are a family owned business and they take pride in their work and professionalism. They are great cause they are not ripping you off like a dealer would. Reasonable prices, great mechanics, and the receptionist Nancy (i hope i remembered her name. She is so pleasent to talk to) is very helpful and actually knows a lot about car issues and she makes you feel that your car is going to be taken care of as if the mechanics were working on their own cars. This is the place where the job will get done to the fullest. Highly recommend!! 5 STAR TREATMENT!!!P.S. See the pictures of my extremely old van. Well, they fixed it and it ran for almost another year!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!P.S.S. Thank you to all who work at Abington Automatic Transmissions!!! great people but. Dropped my car off for warranty work because of a blown transmission, still had all six gears. they drove my car 3 miles on a broken transmission without asking me, or me signing anything that they are allowed to. got the car returned to me by tow truck after them denying warranty work because the warranty company is too much of a hassle and now my car doesn t move at all and my miles went up by 3. it doesn t take 3 miles to go up and down a tow truck and you shouldn t test drive a car that has broken transmission especially without asking customer. very disappointed now I have to pay extra for another shop to fix it I really didn t want to leave this review but after them not answering the phone I had no other choice.

Great place! If you are looking for a business with integrity and honesty, this is the place. We took our son's 2008 SUV expecting to have a full transmission rebuild. The owner told us upfront what the cost would be but said he would look at it and let us know...the next day he got back to us and told us the only thing we needed was a $24 part, which he had already replaced. He could have easily just done the transmission job and we would never had known the difference. We had originally taken this to our dealership and they told us there was a 2-3 week wait for the car to even be looked at and it would cost $300 just for them to look at it. I wish this place was a full auto service shop as I would bring all of our cars here for service. If you need transmission work this is the place to go!Services: Transmission, Transmission repair

I had the most beautiful experience at this company. The owner is so understanding so honest wonderful customer service good communication when it comes down to taking care of my vehicle letting me know updates anything that needs to be changed. Before I came to Abingdon transmission I went to three places to get my Ford explorer looked at. All three places said I needed to get a new transmission .l had a delay when my truck had to change gears. When I spoke to the owner at Abington transmission he said I can bring it in and he would look at. He called me to let me know I did not need a new transmission I just needed some fuel lines because I had a transmission. This man was my angel from up above he put transmission fluid in my Ford explorer he ordered me my parts for my car and he didn't even charge for the fluid. Then my parts came in he did the work on my truck it feels brand new and he only charged a couple of hundred bucks. I love this guy he didn't try to cheat me try to get me to purchase something I didn't need. He was very honest and upfront with me . I know this world is having a tough time right now. It's so good to know that we still have good honest business people on this Earth. I am just so grateful and so lucky to find Abington transmission. Billy is a great honest guy! Took time out of his busy schedule to meet me after hours about my transmission issue. He showed me the insides of some transmissions he was working on in his shop to give me a great understanding of what was going on with mine. Much appreciated. Not to mention his prices were substantially lower than other transmission shops and he stands by his work.

Billy is one of the most honest and upfront mechanics/shop owners I have ever dealt with. He honored a warranty that was just about to expire on a used vehicle I bought. He explained everything to me in "non-car guy" language I could understand. Billy and his crew do excellent work - I recommended them highly.

I own a Repair shop a few towns over and have had Billy rebuilding my transmissions for the last 15 years and has probably rebuilt 250 units for me in which I may have had a problem with 3 of them which were rectified right away! He really is a genuine good guy and runs a good honest business. I won t recommend anyone anywhere unless I m totally confident in them and their work!

We were so lucky our car broke down during our travels from Illinois and ended up at Abington Transmission. Billy went above and beyond searching for a used transmission for us. He quickly installed it to get us back on the road although his business was extremely busy. Billy negotiated the best price for us and we were happy with the cost and service! It's shame there are not more businesses like AAT. Billy is super friendly and knowledgeable about all things transmission. I recently had ruptured transmission cooler lines and initially took it to one of the big name repair shops, I won't say which one. They wanted over $500.00 to replace two cooler lines. The dealer wanted $800, no kidding $800 for two cooler lines on a 2008 Tahoe, unbelievable. Bill on his summer hours BTW, got my truck done a week earlier that he told me to expect it and for a very fair price. Great shop. Billy is very knowledgeable and an overal nice guy. Went in to have my transmission fluid changed. Dropped it off to them and it was done in a few hours. I learned a little bit more about the cars transmission and when I should do the scheduled changes since this car is new to me and I really appreciated that. The price was very reasonable and I will continue to come to his shop for future preventive maintenance. will definitely refer friends and family as well

I took my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that needed a transmission rebuilt for probably 3 years, my car was on its way out if i did not get this repaired. When i got my car back it felt like a brand new car, drove flawlessly! I couldnt be happier, and on top of that Billy and the crew were so nice and honest! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for the repair!

They were recommended by a friend of mine. I recently purchased a 1965 GTO. 4 speed. The transmission had a leak. I assumed with the age of the car that the seals and gaskets needed to be replace. I set up an appointment for the work. Bill Rust called me back and informed me that deals and gaskets had recently been replaced. That work would be unnecessary. The leak was in the speedometer cable. He replaced the defective part along with a weak rear transmission mount and one universal joint. Bill is very knowledgeable, professional and a man of integrity. A+ in my book.Service: Transmission repair

The owner bill is probably one of the most honest people I have ever dealt with. I have been doing business with Abington automatic transmission for at least 20 years. I have a fleet of yours all 9 service trucks in several personal vehicles within my family and we go for all about regular transmission maintenance which extends the life of what could be a very expensive repair. Just recently I had a transmission fail are a 1 ton Chevrolet truck. At 1st Test drive it's certainly seemed as though it needed a transmission overhaul which I would imagine was in the thousands of dollars. Bill called me 2 days later told me my truck was all set. I thought that was amazing for a transmission overhaul turnaround. Then he gave me the news that it was a couple of small issues that added up to make the transmission not come out of 2nd year. He completely service the transmission repaired the problems and it was $400. How many auto repair shops do you find that are honest like this? So I would suggest if you have a transmission problem in the future give Abington automatic I'll call I truly believe you'll be satisfied and happy with the results.

I absolutely LOVE the customer service, value and timeliness of this place. I had an issue with my transmission and was frantically trying to find someone to fix it for less money than the dealership was charging and Abington Automatic Transmissions were the only ones that answered the phone. Besides the great people that are here, the quality of work that is done is far better then dealer work. The prices is very generous in favor of the customer. And wh n I say he stands behind his work he stands by his WORK! Would and will be the recommendation out of my mouth. Thanks guys you re the best

I came to Abington transmission with a blown transmission and an estimate from another shop to repair my transmission for 4800.00 dollars and a time frame of about a week to repair it. Billy at Abington transmission beat the price to 3395.00 dollars and had it repaired in 2 days with a free tow and a 12 month warranty. All automobile repair facilities should use Abington transmission as an example of how to do business.. Excellent service !!

Bill is a super friendly guy but the work is AWFUL.I sent a Dodge 2500 in. It had 160,000 miles.First trans went in about 2 weeks. Fixed with no question. Bill said due to a bad electronic controller he overlooked. Fixed, 2 weeks later same issue.Towed back, fixed again. Also due to something electronic. Not much long after, again. Again he covered it. On the 4th time trans started slipping.I did us both a favor and got rid of truck. All covered under warranty. I felt it was just a bad luck truck.Here's the issue. Bill was a nice guy and I figured somehow it was just a bad truck (dodge) so I brought in 2500 Chevy for reman trans. Truck had 220,000 miles. The last reman had lasted over 60,000 miles from another shop. Shortly after Bill installed flywheel which broke (which should have been new when he did the reman). Not covered he charged me $500. Ok. Bad luck again. Back in action soon after, trans leaks. He says He forgot to put in Pcv valve. Ok, I guess. Trucks old anyway. Well it's now a year later, and about 10,000 miles over warranty of his 12,000/1 year and I have no reverse!I called and he said sorry, warranty is up..So long story short, they, by my own, multiple experiences do NOT do a thorough job of replacing the internals, clutches etc on rebuilds which is the WHOLE point of transmission repair. Nice guy yes, does he do EVERYTHING other people who charge the same price do? Not from my experience. I'm a nice guy too so that's why I'm disappointed .

Found my self in need of some transmission work, and was referred to Abington Automatic by my tune-up mechanic. The owner gave me his immediate attention when I got there, listened to me describe my issue, and took the truck out for a test drive. When he came back, he did his best in layman's terms to describe to me the possible problems I might be looking at, and the cost of the repairs depending on what the issue might be. As anyone knows, these experiences can, and almost always are some form of nightmare, but I was very surprised to get the truck back in 2 days, and although the problems was the worst of all the scenarios, he came in well under the estimate he had quoted me. There were a couple of small things they noticed ( a bare wire in the wiring harness, and a snapped bolt on my exhaust flange) that they fixed for me as well with no charge. Hopefully, I will never have to go back to them again, but if I ever have transmission issues, this is where I will take my truck.

He said it would need a break in period of a week to ten days and that's what it took . When I left the shop, it was down shifting when I let off the gas, and going onto neutral at stops. So I waited ten days to give a review. Now its running perfect. Guess he knows his business.

Absolutely outstanding experience. I had my wife's car brought to Abington Automatic Transmission after the first shop I brought it to recommended them (since they didn't repair transmissions). The car would go in to second gear, then slip out of gear if you went faster than 10mph. Billy called to say that it looked like it was a false computer code and that two oxygen sensor wires had melted together. He split the wires and rewrapped them and cleared the codes and now it drives just fine. It's incredibly refreshing to find yourself in a situation where you fear you might need a new transmission, only to have the shop tell you that it was nothing and you're good to go. Billy has earned my business (and my referrals!) for life!

Would highly recommend this shop the owner is extremely nice polite and helpful, very fair with pricing, and the work is impeccable wouldn't bring my car anywhere else, glad I brought my car here to get fixed!

This is all a lie, i know many people who have gone here. I was reffered by a friend to get my chevy 2500 fixed. First off he gave me a ok deal. The dust cover was never put back on, after repetedly asking...still no cover. About six months later my tranny was junk again. After putting "multiple" trannys he failed to realize they stripped a wire making it bog out???Really after 3 months it was a wire? That problem was settled he backed up his warranty. The truck is never beat on mind you, now, about 4 months later trans is slipping away and billy boy is backing down on his warranty. Mind you 100% illegal. And says in the books he works alone? Hmmm. I suggest anywhere else. I know over 6 people who had theres done there and within months its gone again, one resulting in fire. So yea i wouldnt
