Very nice and honest guys. Mike worked with me to find the issue with my truck and Sam fixed it. They always show me the old parts and explain exactly what they did. They make sure you know where your money went.

When I say all the individuals at McGhee s Auto are my people they are part of my soul tribe (smile). They have never made me pay for something I did not need. I have been in at times thinking I needed a certain service, they have check to make sure that is what I needed first. They are honest and down to earth. I have been to mechanic shops and they will charge me for something I don t need or add on extra services. I really like how when I do come in for services they ask well what makes you think you need that service, what are you experiencing ? Shout out to Jimmy, Mike, and Jim my mechanic

I absolutely love the service at McGhee s Auto Service! Everybody there is so nice, welcoming, and very professional. Sam was very fast when he replaced my wheel bearing. He s super sweet and was very thorough with my car. He told me other things that my car would need fixing on in the future. They were honest about what I needed done and trustworthy. Nice set of men we have here. I will definitely be back!!!

I don't do online reviews, but for these guys I make an exception. I drive an hour each way to get to them and am willing to pay the deductible on their service as opposed to the dealer's free service. Their pricing structure is competitive with others, often better. But honestly, you can't buy trust. These guys have earned mine.They don't try to force a repair on you if you don't need it and the work they do has always been top notch. Who ever heard of a dealer advising against a repair? Well these guys did. Can't tell you how many OTHER shops have wanted to do extra work on my car that would've cost me a bundle...mine is a performance rally car so the parts and labor are always crazy expensive.They're also careful about not getting you into heavy diagnosis fees, attempting to locate the problem as quickly and accurately as possible without tearing the car apart and charging you a ton (like other shops have). I've found service on things as simple as an oil change can be hit or miss with a dealer. Not these guys...they pay attention to details and they're very friendly chaps too. Waldorf isn't exactly a tourist attraction, but this shop is worth the drive.Update : been across the country now and still haven't found a better mechanic. I've never missed a mechanic before, but these guys are phenomenal people.

It was an absolute positive experience dealing with McGhee's. My check engine light came on last week. I called a garage in Waldorf to schedule an appointment. I explained I could not leave my car overnight as they insisted I needed to do. The lady gave me appointment for the following week and told me to bring something to do because I'd be there for a while. She also tried to give me a hard time about keeping up with servicing my car (which I have kept up with). I was truly turned off and annoyed. I then decided to call McGhee's. They scheduled me for first thing the next morning. I then called back the other place and canceled. When I got to McGhee's my check engine light was off so they couldn't do the diagnostic. They told me to stop by if it came back on. Well, it came back on today. I stopped by unannounced and no appointment. I was immediately helped. The diagnostic was completed and two mechanics looked over the issue. They even filled my windshield wiper fluid and put a little oil where my hood latches. I was ensured it was safe to drive my car and my light was reset. They couldn't find a leaking hose. When I asked how much I owed (knowing a diagnostic costs anywhere between $75 - $100) I was told I owed nothing! I couldn't believe it. I did tip which he didnt want to take but I pushed the money in to his hand! If you need any work on your vehicle I highly recommend McGhee's!

McGhee's Auto Service has been taking care of my cars for years! I appreciate the honest, practical conversation about how to fix my car. They understand automobiles ... inside and out. Sometimes if you put a new part on an old piece of equipment, you will run into problems later. They know what needs to be fixed or replaced to keep you on the road. They explain what you need to do to be safe on the road. Economical and trustworthy service. I'm a proud and happy customer!

I ONLY trust McGhee's Auto Service for all of the car needs! The staff is friendly, professional and very willing to help. They go above and Beyond to get you the best service for what you need. They are also very honest, and their prices are realistic and affordable. They have helped me in many jams, and gave me the best prices on things like synthetic oil changes, tires, and general maintenance. The mechanics there are definitely top notch, and have shown some of the best expertise in automotive maintenance that I have ever encountered. I will never go to another auto service shop in Southern Maryland. McGhee's is where it's at!

Just had my car serviced at McGhee's Auto Service in Waldrof, MD again. They do an excellent job, I got an oil and filter change, rotate and balance tires, buffed my headlights, replaced wiper blades and replaced battery. All at a reasonable price. The personnel at McGhee's are very friendly and helpful. If I have a question about my car, they usually have an answer for me. I really trust McGhee's, good people.

Me and my family member were stranded (out of Gas) in the 90+ degree hot summer last week, and this wonderful gentleman came out of the bank and proceeded to take me to get gas and returned me safely back to my car. He said he was the owner of McGhee's Auto Service, I would like to thank him again for being a true gentleman. I look forward to bringing my car in for service, WONDERFUL MAN.

First time in 30+ years I trusted someone other than the dealership with my cars. Tried McGhee's Auto since they are conveniently next door to my workplace. It is a quality car repair shop with knowledgeable, reliable and personable mechanics. They provided fair grading and pricing for a Maryland state inspection. I greatly appreciate their quick work (so far, an oil change and headlight replacement) that seems to accommodate my schedule more than theirs. They go above and beyond even picking up/dropping off my car and finding the OEM part number for me to save money on a new headlight assembly on-line, who does that. Definitely will consider and recommend them for future maintenance and repairs.

I am extremely picky when it comes to my vehicles and typically nobody touches them but me, but when some lady crashed into my car I had to choose somewhere to have the repairs done on Geico's dime. I got a good vibe from this place when I had a couple of my vehicles' inspections done here in the past, so I had them do the repairs from the accident. They did a great job, they communicated with me really well throughout the process, the customer service was above and beyond, and they even called a couple of weeks after the truck left the shop to make sure everything was still going well with the truck. This place is the real deal and I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I found this place on Google because the reviews were very good. I had an estimate for front brakes and rotors from another company for $900. I went to this place today, and they told me that my brakes were fine, and all I needed to do was change the rotors.They gave me two choices. They can file the ones I had,but it would last about three to four months,or change it completely. The price the quoted me was very reasonable. It's so hard to find trustworthy mechanics these days,but I found one!!!. McGhee's Auto Service!!! You should get ****** You deserve 6 stars!Mr McGhee,the owner was very nice. He even drove me around the corner,so I can get buy myself something to eat while I wait.Keep up the good work guys!! Honesty pays off. Took my sons BMW because it did not start. Was told it was the started which must have been wrong because we just put a starter on the car in June 2021. Asked them to remove the starter so I can take it back to the BMW dealership they gave me an old starter that was not the one I put on the car in June. The starter was rusted and old. The dealership said this could not have been the starter that was purchased in June. I had my car towed back home and will be taking them to small claims court. We still had to pay over 100 dollars and nothing was done. Never taking my car here again they took advantage of me as a woman. I am out of a 500 starter and still have to purchase a new one foe my car worst service ever!!!

Was not pleased with this business. Their prices are too high and their staff are rude.I was cursed at by the man at the desk after asking for warranty information concerning their work. They did not keep me informed on my truck's status but I had to keep calling them. They changed the oil without being asked and then chastised me for putting the wrong oil in my truck. I have owned the truck for 20 years and know what type of oil it uses but not according to their front desk man. I checked with the state of Maryland and this business is in FORFEITURE status. They have not provided relevant paperwork for 16 years. I will be calling the state.

What a disappointment!!! I had the timing belt, water pump and components replaced. FOUR days, ONLY FOUR, after getting my vehicle back the car died. the worst part being I was visiting a friend in Baltimore. However I was willing to rate them highly and disregard one persons discrimination of my lifestyle because sometimes things happen, parts fail etc.They working team was great, the receptionist was very nice and helpful to as so much provide me with a ride to my rental car provider near the mall. The mechanic I was able to speak with on several occasions was very nice. He even took me to the car showed me the issue, and explained the process which I was the reason I had taken the car into a shop at all. I thank both of them for their STRONG customer service.The one person whom I had reoccurring issues with was consistently rude, with a bullies demeanor when we spoke. He questioned my knowledge of vehicle maintenance and belittled every answer I provided of the vehicles history and issue.When the car was returned, I hadn't even got home when there was an issue with the passenger side. I had investigated and found a bolt missing from the brake system and has etched a groove to the inner wall of the rim. The car has been since been placed back into responsibility of the McGhee repair shop. My car was taken to a dealership for diagnosis when it was revealed the damage caused, and in addition to the timing belt, there was extensive damage relating back to the timing belt failure. The vehicle has been in their possession for 2 WEEKS and has jot even been looked at plus the shop is now not answering any of my phone calls.

I went to McGees auto repair shop, to figure out what was wrong with my car. After a few days go by an employee call me and told me they fix my car with our consent and charge a very high price with out them telling what it was gonna cost. I have been in the automotive/sales and a owner of a repair shop. By far the experience that the mechanics and owner have exceed 150 plus years together. They are very knowledgeable and do great work that a lot of shops won't even touch. They are old school and new schooled, great combination. When I was in Auto Parts sales, I went to every shop in southern Md every week and I will tell you by far they are top notch ! You want your car fix right, this is where you need to go. As i was reading some of the comments i noticed some of the people what to price shop, no shop can give you a price without looking at it and calling around and getting prices etc. So as far as the few 1 star reveiws, that is just wrong on your behalf... Great worker's at McGhees. Thanks, Sandy

We have used McGhee's Auto Service for 25 years. They do a great job in taking care of our major automobile service. We would not take our automobiles any place else beside McGhee's Auto. Try them you won't be disappointed.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Would be zero stars if I was able to rate that low! When I called ahead of time to get an estimate for a power steering pump replacement, he would not give it to me and insisted to see the car to make sure that was the problem. All the other shops I called gave me and estimate over the phone. So I asked how much it would be to check the car out and he said nothing. Left the car over night with the shop and the next day I get a phone call that I also need a line replacement, no big deal until he tells me the total price for everything! I drove to the shop to get a cost breakdown, and the two parts that he wanted to replace are 2 to almost 3 times the price of the parts from AutoZone. I asked where the parts were from and was told Carquest, so I asked if I could just get my own parts and pay them for labor. I was told I would be charged extra for that, and then the manager/owner stated "how would you like it if I went into your bank account and took half of your money away?" How can a shop that has morals, request to charge $125 for a power steering pump and $58 for the line, when the parts are $45 and $19 at AutoZone and $60 and $30 at Carquest where the parts were that they wanted to buy were coming from???? That's double what they were going to pay for the parts!!!! Then I wanted my car back to take it somewhere else, and he wanted to originally charge me $108 for looking at the car, over an hour of labor. When I questioned how much time was spent looking at the car, he said 30 minutes. Do not believe the other reviews online for this repair shop, they are all fake!!! Go down the street to one of the other dozen shops. I paid less than half of what McGhee's wanted at another shop and the work was completed quicker than it took McGhee's to even look at my car! I will NEVER take my car to this shop again, even if everyone else is closed, I would rather walk!!! AVOID THIS SHOP!!!!

McGhees fixed my 2000 Pontiac Grand- Prix , they are a very honest business and they were very upfront about what was going on. I am grateful for this shop because Im a woman and ive been taken advantage of at 2 other body shops, im so glad my friend referred me to McGhees. I highly recommend this shop. I want especially the single ladies to know you can trust McGhees they gave me a good vibe so i thought to myself hey ok let me just try them im so satisfied. My daughter and I will now have our car on the road im going to refer my girlfriends as well its about time we have a shop that dont take advantage of us, im very happy I trust this shop

I always receive prompt service at a reasonable price. During a recent visit to have a starter installed, the technician repaired part of the plastic splash guard that has been bothering me. Just a little detail that made my day!

4/7/2020 * Alternator repair. Professional, courtesy, responsive (called me the next morning when the work was complete) & charged me a reasonable price. I highly recommend McGhee's Auto Service.
