Gary and his team are awesome! Hampton Automotive Service was recommended by a friend who is a "car guy" and he couldn't have been more right. Fair pricing, full disclosure, polite and friendly are just a few things that stand out, not to mention the repairs are successful and I get my car back the same day (even for troubleshooting and then the repair). Gary was great! I was in Towson on a business trip, and I had unexpected car trouble. Lucky for me, his shop is located on the same block where I was staying, so I could just walk down the street and figure out where he was located. Just so you know, he s down on the bottom level of a parking garage between a couple of loading docks. But that doesn t affect his ability to do a fantastic job and explain everything clearly. His estimate for how much it was going to cost me was right on. And he got the job done much more quickly than I m accustomed to. I truly appreciate the clear, competent service, and since I m not far from Towson, I will probably bring my car back to him for regular check-ups.

Where to begin with listing all the wonderful services I received at Hampton Automotive in the past three years since I came here for the first time? Let s start with timely appointments. Whatever is need, I get an appointment quickly, mostly the next day. I bought new tires there and Gary gave them to me at cost . I only paid for the installation. I bring it in for an oil change and they check everything to make sure I leave with a car that s safe to drive. My car is almost 20 years old and things wear out. They always catch what s about to break before it does, thus making sure, everything is in working order and will transport me safely on Baltimore s rocky streets. Windshield wiper fluid is refilled, tire pressure checked, and making my old almost blind headlights look shiny and new again are just some of the standards and I don t have to request this, it happens automatically. Others have mentioned it in their reviews and it s true, Gary walks me through all the things that are needed and shows me on my car what absolutely needs work. Always honest! Great prices! The three mechanics who work there are knowledgeable, thorough and fast. Even when something unexpected needs work, I can always wait upstairs in the lobby, the parts come quickly and I can take my car home on the same day within a couple of hours. I was sent to Hampton Automotive by a friend. Best decision I ever made to come here. Bring your car here and you ll never want for another repair shop.

I had a flat tire due to a screw in the tread. I had a little trouble finding them since I was looking for a typical auto shop and not inside of a parking garage. Gary got me in and out quickly and his price was very reasonable. I will definitely go back. Service was friendly and the price as fair. Definitely a 5 star location!!!

I have been coming to Hampton Automotive Services for at least 7 years now, and I will never look back. I call them and always am able to get my car in the shop within a day. The biggest difference between Gary and the other mechanics is the honesty factor. Going to a mechanic can be daunting, and full of "issues" your car might have. Gary is straightforward and honest, always having your best interest in mind. I have not experienced this with any of the mechanics I have used prior. The piece of mind that I have knowing my car is in the hands of VERY Experienced technicians and that I will be given a trustworthy answer or honest recommendations, is the reason I go to Hampton Automotive. Probably the most pleasant interaction I've ever had at an auto garage. They didn't try to make us replace extra things to make extra money. They explained everything in detail and do excellent work. I'll definitely be returning for any future repairs. I have been bringing my vehicles to Gary for the past 9 years. I will not let anyone else touch my car! Gary and his wonderful team of mechanics are professional, kind, and amazing! They do great work in a timely manner. They do HONEST and FAIR work. They will never upsell you or charge you for something that is not needed. I cannot say enough great things about this place!

I've been a Hampton Automotive Service customer for nearly 30 years. Gary and his team reliably deliver the highest quality work and the most trustworthy advice you will find. They evaluate and treat your vehicle as if it was their own. I absolutely recommend them.

I started working with Gary and his team back in 2012. I bought a car that was questionable and made funny noises here and there as I would drive it. I was unsure of the car and took it to different mechanics in the area to ask about safety issues with it. Some mechanics said it had extensive repairs needed, then I took it to Gary. He test drove the car and said it was fine. I then moved from the Towson area in 2016, so I stopped going to Hampton Automotive. Their good service, honesty and integrity kept me going to them for 5 years. If I move back to the Baltimore/Towson area, I would gladly work with Gary and his team again. Great establishment.

Absolutely the best experience!! Honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I've worked on cars my whole life, know my way around a car, and have dealt with my fair share of disreputable repair shops. So when my daughter had car problems 100 miles from home on her way to college, I cringed at the thought of having emergency service while out of town... I fully expected to be taken advantage of with no recourse. Gary at Hampton Automotive could not have been nicer and, even though they were very busy, got my daughter safely back on the road the same day. On top of that, they were extremely fair with the price and, under the circumstances, easlily could have charged much more for the repair. Honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy auto repair shops are really hard to find... If you live in the area and you don't take your car to Hampton, you absolutely should, because Hampton is truly the best! From a father of a daughter far from home, thank you!

Great experience. Gary explained the problem in detail and suggested repairs vs. the toyota dealership suggestions, car runs great and very pleased with service and repairs. He also suggested another garage for one of the repairs and I had a great experience at that garage as well. Gary also called me 1-2 weeks later to follow-up and see how we made out. Who does that anymore? Nobody, you get a survey in your junk email that you delete. Thanks

My boss recommended Hampton Automotive to me about 2 years ago. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Gary and his crew treats you like family. They are honest, hard working guys that won't over charge you. I trust them completely and know that they are looking out for me. I will not take my car any where else. My parents have even started going to Hampton Automotive. Let's face it, it's hard to find a good mechanic now a days. Hampton is definitely the place to go! I highly recommend it!

Gary is fantastic! He was informative, honest, kind, and made sure I understood what was happening every step of the way. Because he knew I'm a student from out of state (with next to no automotive knowledge) he offered to drive my car to the Ford dealership himself to have them replace my catalytic converter for the most fair price. I'll be back at Hampton Automotive the next time my car is feeling under the weather and absolutely recommend Gary and his team!

I have been having my cars serviced by Gary and the guys at Hampton Automotive for over 20 years. The courtesy and expertise is unrivaled. Gary runs his business ... in the fashion that businesses were run back in the day. You will be treated to real people ... doing real work. The icing on the cake...you get see all the parts that were replaced on your car... you will always know that you are dealing with 100% honest and hardworking people... with a passion for automobiles.

Hampton automotive service was great. Im a college student who isnt close to home and I was able to drop my car off and have it back the next day. Gary was quick and was a really nice guy. Price was fair when he could have easily charged more. Figured out the problem and fixed it in a day. My guy for auto service while at school from now on.

Very friendly and attentive auto shop. They re very thorough and obviously care about the quality of work they produce. Gary and his team are honest people who are set on making sure you re satisfied when you leave. They don t try to upsell products or pull one over on you, they simply want your car to leave the shop in in a better condition then when it arrived.

Very honest, I am really impressed with Gary. The other shop at York road said more than 1100 dollars to fix my car. Gary said my car is totally fine. He said he used a scanner once before a test-drive, and once again after the drive to make sure it does not have any problem at all. He deserve 5 star.

The.owner answered the phone and was friendly and knowledgeable. Took my car in and he called me and told me exactly what was wrong and what the price would be. Completed the work quickly without any surprises. Didn't gouge me on the part charge. It was they same as if I'd bought it at Salvo's. Fair price on labor. And right in the heart of Towson. Will definitely use them whenever I need a mechanic. Highly recommend this shop. Owner has a great business ethic.

Absolutely perfect experience. Came from a Ford dealer/garage. They wanted to charge almost $1.5K and also swap parts that weren't broken. The guys at Hampton Automotive repaired the parts that needed to be repaired for less than half of that. Quality work - honest guys. There's a reason those guys survive without advertising in a hidden location!

Gary Barnes is hands down the most honest, kind and helpful mechanic I have had the pleasure of giving my business to. He builds his entire business off of the foundation of honesty and integrity. I'm very happy to have been directed to his shop. As a struggling college kid it isn't easy to afford the high cost of maintenance but Mr.Barnes has very fair prices.

The owner is very knowledgeable and very honest. His good judgement saved me a lot of money, and gave me a overall better/safer car in return. His service was very timely and efficient. It is obvious he really cares about the individual and about delivering excellent service. Will go to him every time for now on.

This is the kind of garage people are desperate to find, honest, hardworking, trustworthy, and affordable. I will never go anywhere else for as long as I live in the Towson area. They do not try to upsell you, they do not lie about rates, they are 100% transparent when it comes to your vehicle and any repairs.10/10, 5/5, Two thumbs up, whatever your criteria, this is the best auto shop in town.

I've been taking my vehicles here for nearly 10 years. Gary is always upfront and honest, and explains all work performed in detail. They'll even show you your worn out parts they replace. Highly recommend!

When I scheduled an online appointment the response was immediate and they were very accommodating.I brought my car in for inspection and oil change which can sometimes be an adventure.The employees and owners of this garage are the friendliest, honest and most efficient.Take your vehicle here if you want the best service possible.

This is the car repair shop I've been searching for since I moved to Baltimore 4 years ago. The mechanics here are genuine, honest, kind, and willing to try to work around your schedule in case of emergency. The cost for my repairs was cheaper than what was quoted to me from AAA. They definitely have my recommendation.

Top of the line auto repair. The accolades written in Hampton Auto's reviews are well deserved and reflect the owner's character as well as his technical skills. My first inclination is to keep Hampton Auto's existence a secret but that would be so selfish as they do deserve all the praise seen in the reviews.

I drove my car off the curb when I get of parking lot. I didn't see there is no driveway. Hampton Automotive Services gave me a free check, they told me my car is okay. The guys there are really nice. They have over 30 years experiences, I trust them. It is hard to find them, you have to turn around, drive to E floor, behind Hampton Apartment, you can't miss it.
