I was overcharged for a tire rotation ($60) and the oil change was above average so they should have been thorough, but no less than a month later my serpentine belt snapped. Guess that s not part of a basic inspection? Won t be returning.

LOOK NO FURTHER! RT IS YOUR SHOP!After many years with a specific repair shop in our neighborhood, we were looking for an honest automotive repair shop. Our old shop began charging us for repairs that had already been made to the tune of thousands of dollars of fraud. (Maybe the pandemic hit their bottom line?)We did not know where to turn when the air conditioning in our RAV 4 failed. We were very concerned about finding an alternative shop that was honest, did good work and made us feel comfortable.We spent an entire day vetting reviews all over the internet and decided to give RT Automotive a try.Facing an expensive air conditioner repair, Karen commented that we could choose do without air conditioning (like we did as kids) if we did not want to spend a lot on a car that was over 10 years old. (Shops do not usually talk to customers about options, but work to preserve their bottom line.)RT Automotive provided us with outstanding, extremely efficient service at affordable prices. Their shop has no fancy bells and whistles or fancy waiting rooms with coffee and sugary donuts. They remind me of the repair shops that my father went to 60 years ago that only had repair bays; you could not sit and you could not wait and had to come back for your car.A breath of fresh air, RT Automotive is honest and affordable while providing top of the line work! Our cars, both which are quite old, have found a home!Service: A/C installation & repair

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! My car was broken into while in the lot and no one called me to tell me anything even though they had all my info. My insurance adjuster was the one that told me. I called them and asked if they would be fixing my window that was broken on THEIR LOT. He told me they were not liable for it. This shop is in an unsafe neighborhood, as several cars on their lot have been broken into. They will be receiving a huge lawsuit very soon. Then you re going to lie in your reply like we didn t speak when my car was towed there. You guys messed with the wrong one and will definitely be getting what you deserve.

I am very pleased with the service provided to me by this place. Recently moved to the area and I chose this place based on previous positive reviews. My car had a slow leak in one of the tires and I needed my check engine light to be looked into why it was on. They were able to fix the tire without having to replace it and Rick offered me a detailed explanation of why the check engine light was on and where to go from there. As a woman I often worry about where I take my car to in fear of being taken advantage of since it has happened to me before. But I felt that this place was very trustworthy and easy to work with. I highly recommend this place!!Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

The staff at RT Automotive are top notch! They take the time to really listen to you and are very thorough. When two other mechanics dismissed my concerns, they listened and were able to fix my car and save me a lot of stress. I trust them with my vehicle and will recommend them whenever I can!

We found RT Automotive through AAA's recommended facilities and used them for an unexpected brake repair and battery replacement, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, they were extremely diligent and professional. Fred was excellent about calling with updates as he worked on the car walking us through what repairs were needed and why and what costs would be before he did anything. The repairs were timely and very reasonably priced. We plan to use them for all of our regular maintenance and repair needs moving forward!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Battery

Several fake good reviews. This place is not safe to take your car to. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP! Our car was broken into and they didn t even care to let us know or cover it.

I took my car to another shop right next to me instead of this place because well, it was more convenient and it turns out the guy didn t even put on the vacuum seal for my motor mount. I paid $450.00+ For him to mess my car up he works at the RED TOP gas station no one bring your car there at all! Then I came to this place and they were not only very polite but professional and knew exactly what they were talking about. I will be bringing my car back here for oil changes, Tune-ups and much more! Thanks!!!

Tim was friendly and helpful in explaining the symptoms and issue with my Civic. Karen was just as friendly. They called before making any repairs (as all mechanics should but sometimes don't), explained what he was seeing and what it likely indicated. Car was done within 24 hours once they received the key and so far all issues seem to be fixed. Price was average according to comparisons online, which alleviated my initial apprehension because I am a certified skeptic. Also kudos to being active with the reviewers, huge plus.TL;DR: friendly people, good service, seemed legit and would go again. Irecommend you try them out if you're searching for a mechanic.

They were very professional and offer prompt service! Took my vehicle there for a state inspection and within 40 minutes they were done. Vehicle inspection data sent immediately to the MVA. The techs and the woman were very nice and courteous as well.

I was extremely pleased with the service provide by Tim at RT automotive. The car repair was completed in a timely fashion with excellent service. I was hesitant to schedule a repair during the Covid crisis and my experience was great with the staff wearing masks and providing seat cover protection. I will continue to use RT for my future needs. Thanks Renee Brereton

Staff was NOT accommodating and very dismissive. $90 for an inspection. I smiled and remained respectful but I did not feel welcomed. I woke up wondering if it s because I m Black. I didn t see one person of color as an employee there. I still feel unsettled & there s a bad feeling I can t shake, just left a bad taste in my mouth.

RT Automotive provides great overall service. I brought my older car in after another mechanic performed an oil change, then told me I needed $2,000 worth of work. RT checked everything over and only fixed the things that really needed fixing. They even found ways to save me money by welding an exhaust leak instead of replacing the entire part. They're friendly and kept in communication during the process so that I knew exactly what work was being completed.

First we moved to Bowie, but kept bringing our cars here. Then we moved to Herndon, but we keep bringing our cars here. Not only do they know what they are doing, they are honest. The extra expense and hassle of traveling so far is worth it to know I won't be ripped off.

I came in after an incident at Jiffy Lube where my power steering pump failed. First thing the following day I got a call that my car was ready and that it wasn t actually the pump, just a bad seal. They could have done a replacement on the whole pump and charged me for it but didn t. Next time I need work done, this is the place I m taking my car.

Friendly and fast (<2 days to inspect and repair wheel bearings). Reasonable prices, and I appreciate that they explained the costs over the phone before doing the work.

Was quoted $20 to repair a tire puncture than charged $40 because they had to put the car on the lift. Really? Double the cost?! They could have mentioned the additional cost while I was standing there. I would have just filled the tire and repaired at Midas where they don't charge anything extra unless they do the work.

Have used them twice now since moving to Md. They have good customer service. My family has been having their cars fixed here for many years. If they're not sure what's wrong initially, they'll usually call you and explain the fix and the cost before doing it.
