Mr. Gerard was absolutely fantastic to me regarding my Chevy. He told me the absolute truth which is what other places did not. Although I made the decision based on his recommendation not get my car fixed he has become the mechanic I will definitely bring my new vehicle for any repairs. He is definitely worth your business.

It was my first time taking my vehicle to SUPERIOR Transmission and my was decision was based on word of mouth and of course the reviews. Mr. Woodridge did a through check on what was needed to service my transmission. I am well pleased with his work. And I couldn t believe the amount of money I saved! So Grateful. My car runs like a Spinning Top, so SMOOTH! I will definitely return for future service! Service: Transmission

Honest & high quality work here, I highly recommend you take your vehicle here if you are having a transmission issue. I took my Jeep Wrangler in thinking that the transmission was going to be busted, fully expecting a complete replacement or significant repairs. I basically said as much, but it turned out to be a very small issue that Gerard fixed in a day for about $100 bucks.The honesty, integrity and solid work I got from this shop was fantastic. Will be taking my car here for any service I need in the future.Service: Transmission

I had a great experience at Superior with Gerard & his assistant. The first time I arrived after being told by my neighborhood based mechanic that I needed to replace my transmission. I took the car to Superior & Gerard stated that he didn't hear the noise I heard previously & he said he didn't want to have me waste my money doing work I didn't need. The next week I came back with a different noise. This time he put the 2008 Subaru on the lift and discovered the noise was my driveshaft. The part was changed and I went about my way. The car started misfiring and losing uphill power. I returned to Superior again 3 days later due to the wknd, Gerard located the issue, spark plugs, coil & "bad gas". The car is working very well now. I appreciate Gerard's commitment to quality and doing his best to resolve the problem. I will definitely return for any major issues or refer a friend. I highly recommend Superior Transmission. Two other places told me I needed a new transmission. I found this place and took my truck there. The staff explained their process and it made total sense. After they checked my truck out the Transmission was fine. It was a TCU that had went bad. I saved thousands of dollars by making the call to Superior Transmission.

Like many other reviews, I had a fantastic and far less expensive experience than I was expecting with Superior Transmissions. In short, check engine light and AT light appeared, and a bad shift solenoid diagnostic code come up on the computer. Fast forward a few days and I was coming back from BWI at 1am, having started by journey at a pleasant 65mph, only for the car to unexpectedly shift hard permanently down to third, and the next hour of my journey on 95 was at 35mph!Every shop I called said our old Mazda would need a new transmission, and a repair wouldn't be an option. Having read many reviews, and with a great location, I thought I'd try one more option with Superior. They checked the codes, drove it around, checked the fluid (including some mystical smelling and consistency checks from the dipstick) and reported my transmission was totally ok! It was an issue with the computer (TCM), and cost a fraction of a new transmission.A few days later the part arrived, and this shop kindly got me sorted quickly in morning so I wouldn't have to sort out alternate transportation for the day.THIS is the place I will recommend to all family and friends in need of any transmission related service. This shop is quite busy and they couldn't take my care for a week. Now I see why they have so many customers. After I received a transmission fault light I took care to a chain... I was told I needed a new transmission at $7K. The car does not warrant that expense so I took it to Superior. They serviced the transmission and fixed the problem for a tiny fraction for the cost. Drove in from out of town and my transmission took a dump on me about 20 minutes from DC. Had my car towed to this shop and Yolanda gave me advice to call the Ford dealership and see if the transmission was still under warranty because there are a lot of recalls on fiestas, focuses, and fusions made from the early 2010 s. It was, and this ended up saving me $3000.Instead of just thinking about putting a dollar in their own pocket, they were looking out for MY best interest, which saved me thousands. Completely honest, genuine, and respectful people that this world needs more of. If I m ever in town again and need work done I will absolutely be going back here and would recommend anyone else who wants an honest mechanic to do the same!

Honest, competent and friendly. Shops like this are the reason I will always go to a genuine independent guy over a dealership. They are knowledgeable and obviously care about their customers. Despite being constantly busy, they always take the time to discuss the issues, make sure you understand and are comfortable and work out the best way forward with you.Specifics of my experience: My Jeep had a loud clunk and threw some transmission codes. Since it was a new (to me) car, I took it to the dealer. They told me there were a range of issues, and quoted me well over $3,000 to fix it. When I talked to them about it, they described things that didn't quite make sense (I won't say they lied, but..). Since Barry at Superior had previously given me honest and free advice on another issue, I brought the car here. They told me what was, and was not an issue (dealership claimed the low range actuator was inoperable, but Barry was able to work it multiple times) and what did need to be addressed (and how to address it properly). Explained every issue and different options at every step. In the end, the work they did was half the cost of the dealership quote for the same work ($1K vs $2K) and a third to a quarter of what the dealership wanted me to spend.The only compliant I have is that there aren't more shops out there like this, and that they don't do everything on my car. If they did, I would come here for everything.

Devil is in the details...I left a voicemail on my initial call describing what I may be needing, pending inspection. I said on the voicemail that I likely needed a new transmission for my '97 F-250. Yolanda called me back within about 15 minutes and she already had three options for me to choose from with all the details I asked for. I said I would get back to her but wanted the truck towed to the shop in the meantime (she immediately earned my business with her thoroughness)...she worked everything out to get it towed. At the shop they said it needed a transmission and asked what option i wanted, i postponed. I called the next day and left another voicemail explaining my choice. two days later i got a phone call telling me my truck is ready...WHAT?! Honestly, I was shocked, I actually asked what they did to it, expecting them to say "added transmission fluid" or something like that...but no, they replaced the transmission, and did a fantastic job! Kudos for great work, great customer service, listening to voicemails, thorough explanation of details, and being creative to boot! They liked my old truck so now I'm headed back to meet some other customers who also have old cars/trucks. Good times.

Superior transmission replaced my transmission and it only lasted 36104 miles. I was told I had a 3 year 100k warranty. After my suburban was there I was told it would be another $ 3500. I asked about the warranty and it wasn t what I was told. Had the suburban tow home still had to pay $ 300.00 not happy I ll never go there again nor will I refer anyone there again. Really too bad they talk a good game

Don't go to this place if you need your transmission checked out. I went because my car's check engine light came on and it had a transmission related code. However, my car still runs well. All they said was that the car runs fine and its too much work to look at the transmission internally.They said it would cost $1200 to examine the transmission internally. If it takes you $1200 worth of effort to thoroughly diagnose a transmission problem, maybe you shouldn't brand yourself as a transmission shop. I guess their business model is letting people's transmission problems go untreated until they actually need a new one. If I could give them negative stars, I would.

I am very very happy with the service and professionalism of everyone at superior transmission, being a small business owner it is very crucial to have my tow trucks on the road working and superior got to work on my tow truck and got it done fast and proper. i will recommend this shop to all my customers for transmission work in the future. do not think twice take your vehicle in and you will not be disappointed.

Fast, friendly, and honest. I only had transmission flushes there, but they did them quickly and at a reasonable price. I thought I may have had a transmission problem, but he did a full diagnostic check at no charge and let me know everything was all right.

Terrible customer service! Will never go back. How dare to bare me from asking a mechanic a question about what s wrong and to explain the pricing. I have the right to question your price and inquire about hat your service will entail. You had no intention of explaining what was wrong, just wanted to over change me because I m a women and thought I wouldn t ask the right questions. I m glad I did. Will take my money to any other business and be sure to leave reviews about your terrible people skills. There are too many other shops in the area

Took my 2008 Outback in because of very hard shifting. It turned out it needed a new transmission. Yolanda looked for a cheaper used transmission, but when that turned out to have a crack, they provided a remanufactured transmission at a significant discount. This one has a 3-year warranty. After an initial hiccup due to a bad turbine input speed sensor, which they replaced in a few hours for $0, the transmission shifted like new, and the car is fun to drive again. They clearly know their stuff when it comes to transmissions.
