It is a true privilege to add my review to the long list of 5 star reviews for Moshe s Auto. This man is an absolute gem! I am wiser, safer and have more money in my pocket that expected, having worked with Moshe on my Volvo.He was not patronizing in explanation, and he did not assume my level of automotive knowledge. Meeting Moshe was a gift, I wish I'd found him earlier!Pros: Prompt; honest; communicative; extremely knowledgeable; my age or gender seemed to be of no importance to him; wonderful balance of personal and professional.Cons: N/A. Seriously, none. He's the best.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

I am so glad we discovered Moshe's Auto Care! First I brought my mother's older Volvo in for a general tune-up, then we brought our Subaru in after the dealer gave us a high estimate for brake work and unclogging a sunroof drain. Moshe told us about half of what the dealer had suggested was unnecessary and saved us hundreds of dollars on the brakes, and he unclogged the drain for free (dealer was going to charge us $250). He will not charge you for things you do not need, and what he does charge is very reasonable. He prides himself on his honesty, and from our dealings with him, and from what I've read from others, he should!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

Moshe and his team are very busy but managed to squeeze me in with some quick help. He s super knowledgeable and very to the point, but you can tell that there is great care and attention to detail in the work that he does

Have been going to Moshe for about one year, and I'm hooked. Bottom line: Moshe is by far the best mechanic I've ever found -- and that's after owning used cars for exactly 50 years.Moshe is very knowledgeable, highly skilled, takes pride in his work, and is totally honest. He looks for ways to save $, never does unnecessary work, and gives honest recommendations, such as when it pays to pay more for an OEM part and when an after-market knock off will do.He owns his own small shop -- just two bays -- and seems to do most of the non-routine work himself (I've never seen more than one assistant at a time working there.) Yet he is almost always reachable by phone. l call, and he answers right away usually. Sometimes, I'm able to bring in the car the same day and he'll fix it while I wait. Other times, it might take a day or two to get in.But what I find most unusual is that Moshe is always willing to answer questions and explain things in detail. When I brought in a tough-to-diagnose problem, he explained in advance the logical, systematic steps he would take to narrow it down. He always tells me in advance what things will cost, and discusses options. His prices are much less than the dealership, but about average for an independent shop. He's been generous about doing small tasks for no extra charge.Some people might find him a little blunt at first, but it's only on the surface; you'll soon discover that Moshe is a great guy, with a good sense of humor and a warm heart!

Moshe s Auto Care did an excellent job in servicing my Toyota Camry while I was in the DC - Silver Spring area. This unassuming shop is tucked away in a modest area of Silver Spring teeming with semis and dump trucks, glass repair and auto body shops. I placed a call to this shop after searching far and wide for some place to work on my son s vehicle before I left town to fly back to the other end of the country. This gentleman accommodated me, which I appreciated very much. Once I located Moshe s shop, I was surprised to find it was a small shop with a full slate of loyal customers and a phone ringing off the hook. This seems to be a hidden gem run by a reasonable and energetic team. I received honest options and full disclosure about my car s needs at an affordable price. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone with a Toyota or similar vehicle.

I've been using Moshe for several years, and his prices are often well below dealer costs. He also gave me an alternative for body work which was to a place that charged less than 50% of the price quoted to me by a big-time outfit.Most recently, my wife had a tire puncture; we inflated it, she drove to his shop, he repaired it immediately, and would not accept any payment.A gentleman, knowledgeable, and extraordinarily trustworthy.

After getting ripped off at other shops around the DMV for the last 6 years, I took my 30 yro Toyota pickup to get serviced by Moshe. He went above and beyond to help me out, and addressed several problems that others had missed. He was very fair, kind, honest, and thorough. Was a quick turnaround and my truck is running better than ever, highly recommend this shop!

They can't schedule service, you have to leave your car all day. But worse after 3 days of phone calls with the owner, when I finally brought the car in, they didn't do the service needed. They are very friendly and I have no reason to doubt their work quality but here is my personal experience: for 3 days I talked with Moshe trying to schedule a major maintenance service. I would call in the morning so he would see how busy they were for the day - if you are in the same situation don't call before 9am (they open at 8am). Finally on a Friday he asked to call back at noon to see how busy they were, when I called at noon he asked to call at 3pm and when I called at 3pm he asked me to bring the car in. When I brought the car in he said there was no time to do the major service so he would do just an oil change and told me I should have brought the car earlier. He knew I was coming from DC. So I battled Friday traffic... for nothing :-(

Moshe has an outstanding, honest, no-frills, no sales-pitch, straight-shooting operation. I've never had a mechanic actually show me exactly what problems are going on with my vehicle and provide honest recommendations. He saved me so much time, money and headache.

A real, honest mechanic. I (stupidly) took my car to another shop after it wouldn t start, and they wanted to charge me for a $900 repair. Had it towed to Moshe, and he gave me a completely different, and much cheaper, diagnosis. A rat had chewed through a wire connected to the engine.I don t know anything about cars, and he could ve taken advantage of me big time, but instead he gave me an honest diagnosis and charged a tiny fraction of what I was going to get ripped off for at the other mechanic. Love this guy.

We have been taking our cars to Moshe s for 15 years. His auto service company is the best one I have dealt with since I started having the responsibility for car care in 1973. Moshe is exceedingly conscientious, a perfectionist in getting the job done correctly but eager to save you money. Several times I have suggested repairs that he has recommended against as a waste of money. For example, for a long time I had a defective fog light on my old Subaru wagon. I suggested replacing it. He asked, how much do you need it? How much would I use it? It s more expensive than its worth to you. Another time, I asked about replacing the old antenna that would not retract when the radio was off. He asked, is the radio working? Yes, just fine. Do you listen to the radio a lot? Yes, all the time. Then why do you need it to retract? But mechanically, on everything that mattered, he was on top of the problem. With my wife s new car he found that a wheel bearing was loose and said, Take it to the dealer. It s under warranty. On my car he found an oil leak from the head gasket. Again he said, take it to the dealer it s still under warranty.Take your car to Moshe s, you won t be disappointed.

Best mechanic you can find. His prices are more than fair. He is honest about everything. He will ask your permission before performing repairs, and you will receive an estimate before he purchases any replacement parts. And his turnaround time is remarkably quick, especially considering that the quality is always top notch. Love this place.

I have been searching for a good, reliable, honest, and reasonably priced mechanic. I can stop searching, because I finally found him. Moshe's Auto Care is just that! He has even given me advice over the phone. I will never go anywhere else.

An affordable, honest and reliable mechanic. I wouldn't trust anyone else to work on my 1997 Volvo. These guys can do it all and I will be bringing my cars here from now on. They are setting the bar high for independent automotive shops!

I am very much pleased with his work, I have 2 car, I have repaired by him. He has done good work on repairing both the cars, he is honest and he don't charge much. I am going back to fix the A/C in Toyota on Monday.
