We have been coming here for years. They are honest and reasonable and will tell you what needs to be done vs what doesn t.Love that we can usually be seen the same day without an appointment. Can t speak highly enough about them.

I called and told them my car wouldn t start and they told me to come right on over so I did. They checked my car And told me what I needed. I was in and out in less than 10 to 15 minutes. They were so sweet and so kind. I had an incredible experience, very happy!

My friend has used this place for years and loves their service and their prices. That being said, I was unable to use them. While Google says they close at 5, they regularly close at 430 and some days 4pm. After numerous attempts to stop by after work (I finish at 4pm) I called them. They explained they close at 430pm and I received confirmation that if I got there by 430pm that day someone would be there to give me an estimate. However, when I arrived at 420, no one was there. When I called the next day, I was told I "spoke to the wrong person." It was incredibly frustrating and makes it absolutely impossible for me to not even be able to get an estimate. They also do not have a voicemail/answering machine; if you call and no one is there it just rings indefinitely.

Rude, unethical, shady. I'm astounded by the positive reviews for Beahm's. We obviously had a different experience than most have had and while it could have been an off day, the experience we did have will hopefully save someone a few hundred bucks if they're in a similar situation. We were in the process of re-titling a car registered in Pennsylvania to Maryland and needed a state inspection to complete the titling process. Called, made an appointment for the next day (perhaps the only positive) and dropped the car off. Several hours later, we were called and told what needed to be fixed. Lights, power steering rod. We were quoted a price we believed was fair and they began work.An hour or so later they called back and said the mechanic had caught something that hadn't been caught initially: a decade old hairline crack above the odometer in the dash shield (that plastic guard behind your steering wheel) that they claimed affected the readability of the speedometer. See picture. This is not the case. They said they could order a new guard for a few hundred dollars plus labor, but they couldn't pass inspection with the crack as it is.In addition to all this, the cost of all repairs was going to be about $150 more than quoted. Our incredulity caused their tone to shift completely: the owner became annoyed and angry but totally unsympathetic, knowing that they had the upper hand in the situation. They ended up coming down on the cost of repairs to the original quote (still weird, more hostage-like behavior), but nothing could be done about the inspection-failing crack. We decided to cut our losses, pick up the car with the initial repairs done, and figure out another solution to the cracked dash guard. Insult to injury: when we picked up the car, for some bizarre reason, the contents of our middle console (photos, receipts, an emergency credit-card) were scatted all over the front seats. Why they had been removed in the first place I have NO idea - nothing the mechanic would need was in the console - but then to just scatter it in the front seat was so creepy.Freaking out about how to get the car past inspection without going further over our budget, I took the car closer to my work in Chevy Chase, Mario's Lake Liberty garage. This place was night and day. The mechanic I showed the crack to LITERALLY laughed that Beahm's had failed our inspection over this. Within two hours, Mario's had passed the car's inspection and I was happy to pay them another inspection fee rather than hand over another cent to Beahm's.All's well that ends well. After picking the car up from Beahm's, the car wheel creaks like an old floorboard when turned to the left because of the steering rod Beahm's installed, but I didn't want to have to go back and have them check it out again for fear of having to pay for a follow-up. It still does this. Just a reminder for myself to avoid this business like the plague.

I took my car here after it breaking down right by my apartment - not only were they extremely nice and genuine, they put on my front license plate without me even asking! I just recently moved up here from florida and hadnt had a chance to get it done but this made my morning! My car is running as smooth as a baby. I will definitely be taking any car issues here from now on and recommending them. Kindness and honesty is a rare find into today s world, and those two things are enough to keep me coming back! Thank you guys!

Father and son, owned and operated for decades. They are as honest as the day is long. They will take care of your car to the best of their abilities, and they will only recommend fixes that you definitely need. Their prices are very reasonable, and they are very friendly too.

Meant to write this earlier, but this is hands down the best auto shop I've ever visited. Originally, I went to another shop in Takoma, who was going to charge nearly 4000 dollars to fix our car (it had been sitting for a year, the brakes had completely rusted and definitely at least needed a new battery), and said that it was going to take 20 hours of labor.Someone I knew then told me to come to Beahm's, citing that they had very reasonable prices, never tried to sell her anything that she didn't need, and even would turn her away if there was nothing wrong with the car, no charge. Immediately I was intrigued, and on a whim decided to have the car towed here. The service was friendly and to the point, they listed out clearly what was wrong with the car, didn't bother trying to sell me anything I didn't need, and I ended up saving almost 3000 dollars by taking it here. They even had it done the next afternoon!Needless to say, as long as I'm in the area and they're open for business, they have a repeat customer.Services: Tires, Brakes, Oil change

Beahms is the best. Honest and reliable and inexpensive mechanics. A rare find this day and age. Multiple times I've gotten my oil changed at a jiffy lube (or something of that nature) or the dealership and have been told the other things my car "desperately needs." Every time I've taken it to Beahms fire a second opinion and they've laughed it off and given me what I actually need. It's always hundreds of dollars cheaper than what I've been told. So I'll continue to go to them for everything my car needs.

I can't recommend Beahm's enough. Whenever I take my Toyota to a dealership they end up telling me I need hundreds of dollars' of work done on the car, but when I take it to Beahm's, they're honest and it's usually either (1) no work is needed, (2) or a minimal amount. Now I only go to Beahm's.

On 8/12/14, for a very modest fee and in less than 90 minutes, Michael at Beahm's Auto Service was able to confirm that the $4K+ worth of repairs recommended by a local dealer's service department was completely unnecessary. None of the problems they claim to have detected actually existed. And Beahm's was able to do this the next morning, after calling them late the afternoon before. Excellent no-frills auto service, honest & straightforward!

After nearly 19 years of taking my car for service at a neighboring garage, and listening to some friends and neighbors who I d sent there, unfortunately I to discovered that the service had changed.Given some feedback on the community list serve, I tried Beahms today for an oil change. What a wonderful group of people, and I was in and out in about 20 minutes!

I thought I needed a $380 starter replacement and wouldn't have known the difference, but Beahm's people are not only honest but also intelligent and at the top of their game. They analyzed the problem and it ended up costing me $30 when they could have taken $380 for the same fix.Not only are there these numerous Google 5-star reviews but also Consumer Checkbook, with zillions of reports, check-marked Beahm's for price AND quality.I ignore reviews that talk about rudeness since you never know who was rude, and anyway, I don't shop for words; I shop for excellent work at a low price.

I've been going to Beahm's Auto Service for more twenty years because their extensive auto repair knowledge, their value for money, and their customer service is second to none. Over the years, Beahm's has saved me THOUSANDS of dollars in auto repair costs. And when one of my vehicles reached the end of its useful life, Mike Beahm told me that, in his professional opinion, it wasn't worth investing any more money in that SUV. Of course, he was right, and I moved on to another vehicle which has since been expertly cared for by Beahm's Auto Service. I couldn't be more pleased with their auto service, and I "highly recommend" them to my friends and neighbors.

The guys at Beahm's are super-friendly, honest, and respectful of me as a woman who knows nothing about cars. They never try to upsell or pitch unnecessary repairs, and they get things done when they say they will. It's like taking my car to have my grandpa work on it...and I mean that in the best possible way. One time Mr. Beahm actually opened up the hood and explained to me what he had done to fix my car. I have never had such positive experiences when I have had my car worked on anywhere else.

Been going to these guys for a couple of years now. They fix what is broken and nothing more. They let me know if something needs to be replaced or if I can go a little longer. They are fast, friendly, and reliable. They usually get oil changes done in 20 minutes or under.

Exactly what you want from a mechanic: honest, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. They have it all. And they charge half of what others do for the same service. Consummate professionals and I will be taking every car I ever own there exclusively.
