This shop is real deal, which is a hard find nowadays.I had check engine on, something to do with transmission. Marv and Mike were able to diagnose the real problem- faulty wirings. The mechanic kept me updated about the progress and gave me reasonable quote. The problem was fixed- no more check engine light. I am happy about their quality of work and their professionalism. I am happy to give them good review and refer them to anyone who needs trust-worthy mechanics.

Had a very good experience. It was supposed to take them Approximately 8 to 10 days. A opening came up because of a part that was needed for another vehicle that did not show up so they got my vehicle in and got it done in 2 days. Not saying that's going to happen with you, but for me that was a blessing. Rick and Tamara are very pleasant to speak with and I really thank them for their work. Especially living 40 minutes away. Competitive pricing, excellent service, responsive communication...they replaced the transmission in my 2003 Honda Odyssey, replaced the windshield and performed a four wheel alignment. All work was done in a timely manner and the vehicle drives like a new one. Don t go to this place. Dishonest and a total rip-off place. My car transmission was making noise, so I called this place. A guy with a nasty attitude answered the phone, and the way he responded to my questions gave me the feeling that I owed him something. I dropped off the car there anyway and asked how much the cost would be to repair the transmission. They said the car should stay there for a couple of days because they are busy to tell me the cost. They called me after a couple of days and said the cost would be $6800.00 to replace the transmission. I told them my car was old and doesn t even worth $6800.00 and can they just repair it. They said no, but could give me used transmission for $4800. I said no thanks, I would pick up the car. When I went to pick up the car, they charged me $150.00 for labor. I asked them why they had never told me on the phone before even coming to their shop or when I dropped off the car that there would be a $150 fee. The owner of the place and the receptionist (the guy with a nasty attitude) pointed me to a sign 20 feet away and said it was written there. I told them this is a matter of honesty and principle to let the client know in advance and not just point to a sign which is not even visible. I paid them the $150 and took the car to another transmission shop. They replace the transmission for $3200 with three years warranty.

No where else have I received such great service for my used cars before. They are very good at calling and confirming exactly what work will be done with the pricing so there are no surprises on the bill. I also appreciate how they talk us through their investigative process, solutions, and timeline for repairs.The overnight drop off is also great for oil changes and if you need to write anything else down, the forms in the box are legit (it is not just scratch paper). Their record keeping is great and if you are trying to keep a clean record on carfax for insurance or something else this is a great place to go. I say the pricing is fair for the quality and effort they invest in your vehicle.

Found Rick very knowledgeable, and he saved me a lot of $ by identifying an extended warranty (free repair) available through the dealership if I had the work done there instead.

Would give them a zero if I could. I've been there three times and each time they try to upcharge me or get me to buy things I don't need. My car sat for 9 hours after I requested a simple oil change. I asked for no phone calls about other service just call when the oil change was done. No oil change was done, the woman at the front desk was rude and combative, and then tried to get me to pay $122 for an oil change. Worst service I've ever received. DO NOT GO THERE unless you wish to be ripped off.

I would not take my car anywhere but Marv & Mikes. The work is first rate, everything is explained, including what needs to be done and why. Total price is always in line with the estimate given. M&M's knows cars!

My poor Mrs Daisy (2002 Ford Expedition w/210,000+ mi) needed emergency surgery. My transmission gave out. I was referred to Marv & Mike's through USAA. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a friendly smile and great professional attitude. They were straight forward and upfront (No Bullshit) just the hard facts and truth. They gave me the estimate, which was a couple hundred dollars cheaper than other places. YES!!! COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS CHEAPER!!! They even called me to inform me of the progress being made, if there were any complications or parts that might need to be purchased. I have ZERO complaints. I am thoroughly satisfied with their service and trust me I never give a five star rating. Marv & Mike's has my business as long as the Army keeps me in Maryland.

All I can say is be sure to read EVERYTHING posted on the customer service desk (checkout desk)!!! No idea I d be charged $8 a gallon for gas because they had to put some in my car. I was charged $40 for 5 gallons where normally $40 regular unleaded fills the tank on my Ford Focus! I was shocked to say the least and when I asked the owner/manager about it he was very dismissive and rude! He simply told me you should ve read the signs on the desk!

I recently moved to this area and Marv & Mike's is in a very convenient location for me, so I wanted to give them a try. But I was nervous since some of the recent reviews weren't so good. However I had a good experience overall.They were courteous and friendly and took care of everything I needed in one day. Their prices were also similar to, and possibly less than, another place I had called.The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they did not provide an update until nearly the end of the day. I think it's because once they had diagnosed the problem, the solution was straightforward and they did not need to order parts or get approval for additional work. So when they called, it was to tell me the car was ready. I would have appreciated getting a status update earlier, but since they were able to compete the job quickly, I really can't complain.

Took my car to Marv and Mikes for a break assessment after being told by a different mechanic I needed to replace my breaks. The assessment at Marv and Mikes took one day and they were honest that my breaks didn t need to be replaced. I have been using Marv and Mikes for maintenance for years. They are always thorough, honest and fair. After my daughter had a run in with a deer I decided to try them for the repairs. The work looks great and the pricing was way better than other quotes I received. My family has been going to Marv and Mike's for many years. We have always gotten great maintenance and repairs. I very much appreciate getting accurate estimates before mechanics make repairs. I think the price is fair given the high quality of the service. I also appreciate being able to make choices about which repairs to accept and which to defer until later without getting pressured. I have no hesitation recommending Marv and Mike's to friends and neighbors.

If you've never tried Marv and Mike's for auto repair etc. You're in for a real treat. I've been taking my cars to them for 40 years with excellent results. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They are extremely competent and very reasonable. They even correctly diagnosed and fixed a complex issue this year on my 1989 Oldsmobile. Rick, the owner, is great and a real pleasure to work with. They recently expanded the shop to a new and bigger location next door, which is truly beautiful. You must give them a try!

I have been taking my cars to Marv & Mike's for years. They do a great job. Their prices are very fair and honest. I would gladly recommend this business to anyone. I appreciate how Rick, the owner, calls me up to tell me what his mechanic sees, what his recommendations are and why, all the while leaving me free to make my own choices.

I ve found Marv & Mike's to be a very honest, reasonably priced, and reliable auto repair/maintenance shop. They are very capable when it comes to diagnosing and resolving issues when I ve encountered them with my vehicles. They kept my 1997 Toyota 4Runner running well until it nearly reached 300K miles (made it to 293K before I had to finally get a new truck in 2016). It is for this reason I ve been a customer of theirs for over 10 years now and have recommended them to several friends. - Greg

Marc and Mike s not only do great work. They are honest! Yep, you read correctly.I asked for several services to be performed on my vehicle. I latter got a call from Rick letting me know that I did not need to do one of those. Any place I have been before they do the service anyway , hey you told us to, not at Marv and Mike s!I highly recommend them. The replaces a transmission for me in my old vehicle. It ran like new with 252k! I sold it to a guy with a tow company and he gushed about how well cared for the vehicle was.

So I have gone to Marv and Mikes over the years. But recent experiences have convinced me to change the rating. I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. Tire rotation, oil change, spark plugs. Dropped car at 9:15 AM. Told them again what I needed and they said they would call. I made arrangements. Booked with Lyft for a ride there from metro. They used to offer shuttle service but no longer do. Brought dog to day care since I would not be home. I called around 4 PM to see if the car was done. They said no and my car was next. I arrived at metro and called Lyft and they picked me up to go to Marv and Mike's. I arrived just shy of 5 PM. I saw my car was still parked where I left so thinking they had done the work. I went in and they said they had not gotten to and were very behind. I had somewhere else to be so asked for my keys and left. No calls about delays, no I am sorry, and numerous dollars spent to accommodate this service. Don't waste your time. Just go to Jiffy Lube. Won't be returning here.

I have been taking my car to Marv and Mike's for a few years. It's a 10 year old Matrix and still running fine thanks to them. They are always dependable and trustworthy in their recommendations and advice. They tell me straight up what can wait to be done another time and what needs to be fixed now. I appreciate their truthfulness and know that I am in good hands when I get my car checked there.

I love going to Marv and Mike s everytime I have a car issue. My sequoia had an incredible amount of work that needed to be done to it after a car accident from last year. They fixed everything in an appropriate amount of time and always stayed in communication with me. With the list of problems my car had I was very happy the customer service, price, service and time. I always appreciate their business everytime. I ll definitely be going back again.

Not the first time I have posted a review about Marv & Mike's. As usual they are consistent with their excellent service. Rick and his staff are what you need to lessen the worry about anything going on with your car. There are 2 things one must have, a great doctor and a great mechanic. I can honestly say" i've got the second one covered ", but the first one is an ongoing process.

We have been taking our cars to Rick (who owns Marv and Mike's) for over a decade. We trust him completely with all our cars as he always gives us sound and honest advice. He tells us what needs to be done right now and what we might be able to put off for a while. You've got to have guys you know and trust and for cars - Rick is our guy.

Great shop- friendly folks who are honest. Upon bringing in your car, one of the mechanics (Rick) always calls with a diagnosis and presents a very thorough explanation of the problem(s) with possible solutions and their corresponding costs. Our family has been pleased with the service that we have received on our all 3 of our cars so far.
