I have been going to Auto Italia for years. Up until my last visit in Dec. With my 1985 El Camino I am very disappointed with the installation of new headers and replacement of valve cover gaskets. I discovered accidentally the bottom part of the header was not tight to the exhaust. Further the right valve cover was not tightened properly and oil was running down the side of the. engine. Further ,I was charged 1900.00 dollars for a job worth 1200.00. I would not recommend them to my worse enemy. Overall, they are not trust worthy and Steve is not trust worthy! I own PG Builders for 45 years and I M totally disappointed in Auto Italia!

These guys are crooks and shady brought my vehicle to get get maryland inspection and they lied about half of what they failed there just tryna get extra money don't waste your time with these crooks

Called to have my wheels serviced and they took me in within an hour of calling. Did an excellent job and walked me through the wheel lock system (Rimgard) that I had installed. I will bring my car for all of my servicing needs moving forward. Shout out to Chris for amazing service!

I have an old 86 El Camino that's had a few issues over the past few years and Steve and the team there have always done a great job of getting it back on the road for me. From replacing my engine, to minor fixes. Professional team, good quality work. Def recommend.

My wife and I have known the owners for nearly 40 years, entrusting our six or seven cars in all that time.We consider them as friends.They and their team provide honest, efficient and high quality service.For mechanical or auto body work, you'll be in very good hands at Auto Italia.

Do not recommend.I've been coming to Auto Italia for years at the recommendation of a family friend. I typically get oil changes and various work done. In the beginning, Auto Italia was a great place. The service was good, they called you with any issues, they fixed your car on time.Over the past few years, the quality of work has significantly decreased. My first problem was a year or two ago. I got an oil change without any problems. A few weeks later, my car stalled. I was able to restart it, but something was very wrong. It was not shifting properly and the check engine light came on. I took it to a nearby Toyota shop and they said I had almost no oil. I assumed Toyota was mistaken so I asked them to check again. This time, they brought me into the shop and took out the dipstick. The oil was a crude black and very very low. I was very upset at Auto Italia, but didn't say anything because they were friends of our family friend. I never got another oil change there.The next time I returned, my car failed its emissions test because the check engine light was dead. I brought it to Auto Italia to fix. They said they fixed it. I took back to the emissions test where it failed again. They showed me the light doesn't even come on during ignition so the bulb is still dead. Instead of taking it back to Auto Italia, I took it to another mechanic. I found out the light assembly was gone. I felt very cheated and have never returned since.To be fair, I did not approach Auto Italia with my problems. In retrospect, I probably should have, but did not due to a mutual friend. I did not want to accuse them of anything nor strain any relationships. There could be a reason, but they should not have told me my check engine light was fixed. That is something they cannot explain away.In summary, my latest experiences with this car shop have not been good. The quality of service has drastically changed and I no longer recommend this shop to any of my friends. There are plenty of other shops in the Rockville area and I suggest you avoid this one.

I have used AI for several years at the recommendation of a friend. I love their service! (Disclosure: I know how to work on my car). I have changed rotors, brakes pads, shocks, belts, water pumps, hoses, and thermostats. I change my own oil, how simple could it be? On occassion however I find a problem I cannot fix because I either don't have the time or the tools. I do my best to tell them what the problem is and they know where to search in diagnosis (most folks do not know their cars I admit).I have 185,000 miles on my BMW and plan to go another 100K at least. These guys are phenomenal! They know cars of all types (Audi, Alfa, Mercedes, vintage Pontiac, BMW, Lexus, Toyota, VW to name a few) and can fix, repair, and restore anything! I would recommend the AI team to anyone. Quality is top notch. Service is even better. Do not hesitate with your friends and neighbors - these guys are serious and excellent!!!
