The first time I went "Potomac Auto Care" for a technical inspection, they said that my car would cost about $700 to change the tires and about $90 to fix a small problem in the brake system.Then I went to another place to get the tires changed for a cheaper price and the week after when I left my car there for the rest of inspection, after one day they billed me for over $1,200 without even checking the final price with me to agree to.I spoke with an expert at Mercedes-Benz company, where I usually take my car for service, I was told that all the parts they replaced were unnecessary and that there was nothing wrong with my car's brake system.It was my mistake going to "Potomac Auto Care"!Never go there. They look at you like a bag of money!

Worked with Jay on numerous occasions for my Porsche and BMW - from scratch paint and repair, wheel alignment to new brakes - never had an issue, professional and good service.

Jay and his team are experts in any car maintenance you will need. I am out of state and needed quite a bit of work done on my car; breaks, oil, tires, alignment, tire sensor replacement. They were thoughtful, conservative, and reasonable in pricing which made me feel like my car was in good hands. Not to mention, they accommodated my tight work schedule. I highly recommend Potomac Auto Care !

Called to ask for the price of MD inspection-asked me what year /make of my car was. ( BMW), then was told it was $175!Called Liberty ( darnestown rd), no question asked about what year/model of the car, flat fee $99! Definitely best deal around, worth of of driving there!Not sure if Potomac s zip code reason why this MD inspection mark up!

Potomac auto care is by far one of the finest mechanic shops I have been to in over 10 years. Jay and his team, their service, work, and ethics are unmatched. I have recommended them to anyone who needs car work, and will continue to do so in the future. All of that being said, they are not cheap. You will pay more here than other shops, but you will also get a team of dedicated professionals who will bend over backwards to help you out, who will take the time to happily explain everything that needs to be done, and will stand by their work. In my opinion, well worth the price.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Jay and his team at Potomac Auto Care fixed my car quickly and efficiently, making it drive and sound better than in the last few years. I have taken my couple of cars there for repair. I can tell you that this shop has great mechanics with very reasonable rates. Jay the manager on site is a very honest man and caring. His goal is to provide excellent service and make sure you don't keep coming back for repairs! It's hard to find any good honest car repair shop, I'm glad I found Potomac Auto Care, as long as Jay is managing this place, I know where I'll be taking my cars. We got a car from auction and took it to Potomac Auto Care for diagnosis and repair. We were very pleased with the recommendations and services we received from Jay and his people. Jay constantly updated us on the progress of the repair and everything went perfectly and according to the agreed schedule. We're grateful and highly recommend Potomac Autocare.

Spent many years going to a car dealer for repairs and service for my cars while spending lots of money. Was afraid to let any other place take care of my cars. Somehow I began to let Potomac Auto do some small jobs on my cars and as time went by the jobs became bigger. I can only say it has been a good experience as my cars have performed well during short and long trips (to Miami, NYC, Boston a couple of times) ever since I have taken them to this place. I'm happy with the prices as well, the location is convenient, and the people working here have been extremely friendly, pleasant and accomodating.

After multiple failed attempts of myself diagnosing my car's failure to start, I had it towed to Poromac Auro Care (PAC). The PAC crew were polite, honest, and skilled professionals. Their second-to-none work on my car made it function like a new car. I highly recommend this establishment .

We got rear ended back in early December. Every shop around said it would be at least 3 weeks to get in, and 3-4 weeks to order a new lift gate. So the soonest we could get our car back would been 6 weeks. Jay was able to get me in, found the part and had it shipped here and did the repair in 3 weeks. The shop did quality work. Avoid this place at all costs. It is a complete rip off. We took our 2011 Toyota Rav 4 for an oil & transmission fluid change. The manager Jay calls up in the evening and told us that the left & right control arms need to be replaced (apart from that he said that all 4 tires needed replacement which we declined). He gave a quote of $400 for the parts. When we went back to pick up the car, they handed us a bill of $1970. This included charges of $175 for changing the air filter, $220 labor charges for replacing the air filter, $595 for the left & right control arms, are $178 for filter spark plugs & more. When my wife asked for the receipt for the parts, Jay said that the receipt they gave us is all they can provide. None of the additional charges were discussed with us upfront. We would never use this place again even though we live a few miles awayService: General repairs & maintenance

Happy to recommend Potomac Auto Care. Brought in an out of state vehicle for MD inspection knowing there was some work to be done. They diagnosed the problems and repaired the car on my timeline, which I really appreciated. We removed and replaced front brake pads, front rotors and rear brake pads. The car stopped with the alarm, but it had a weird noise, it was a safety issue, so we did the work with them.They charge me 800 usd. by phone, then when we got there, they added labor over 300usd. That's not a fair practice.Two weeks later I went to my garage, they did not have an appointment sooner (because they are good and fair) and one of the issues is the brake pad, because the brand is too cheap not for this model car, that the needed to replace it again.Service: Brakes

I had an excellent experience at Potomac Auto Care on Saturday. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change the day before and brought my car in at 11am on Saturday. Jose was prompt, polite and so kind. AND he said it would be done in 45 minutes and he was spot on! I came back and my car was ready for me. I was so happy with his excellent customer service and will definitely be back. I'm not a big reviewer...but felt the need to share this really positive experience.Service: Oil change

I m definitely pleased with my experience with Potomac Auto Care! Jay was nicer and more helpful than the several other places I called and visited before landing on this place and was able to get me in and out in half the time as well. Also a good location to wait as there s the entire Cabin John Village to hang out in instead of a stuffy office with bad coffee lol. Took both of my vehicles in for service. Service was prompt and the work was done with great care. Jay made sure all of my concerns were addressed and followed up afterwards to make sure everything was okay. Jos� takes great pride in his work and even showed me exactly what he worked on when I came to pick up the car. Potomac Auto Care and Jose are wonderful. I pulled in a few weeks ago with a screw in my front left tire, and a world of problems I was handling - and really needed a quick tire fix. Jose understood my situation, fixed the tire, and made sure all the other tires were properly inflated. Great service, and a really nice guy! You owe it to yourself to work with Potomac Auto Care and Jose...Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

On May 17th 2022, I came to Potomac Auto Care because while driving to work my car dashboard showed me high coolant temperature and engine overheating. When I took it to them, they said they will call me the next day because it was towards the end of the day. I was told the next day that there was a leak in my coolant system and certain parts needs to be replaced it will cost a total of $730.86 to fix it. I paid that money in full. On July 12th 2022, the same car that they fixed began to display the same thing, high engine temperature, engine overheating but this time, the car stopped on the highway and wouldn't move. On that day, it was raining, I have never been stuck on highway for a long period of time under the heavy rain. It was a sad frustrating experience. I would not be doing any repairs here and I don't recommend them at all. How do you charge a ridiculous amount and not fix the problem??

My husband took the car to Potomac Auto Care on August 6, 2021 for air conditioning issue. Because he didn't bring back any estimate of cost, I called the shop asking for details the next day and asked for the car back because we had to use the car for some urgent business. I was told the car was undriveable and was taken apart and they had to put in a new radiator. I was very surprised as we had a new radiator just installed two years ago and we just topped-off the coolant a few days ago and multiple people had driven the car since until it was announced undriveable upon arriving at the shop. I asked them over the phone if we could have the problematic radiator back and was promised such, but when my husband went to pick up the car on August 9, they told him the old radiator was discarded. They charged more than a thousand dollars and the air conditioning wasn't fixed at all. Without a car on the morning of August 9, I had to escort my son to ride a bus, which his first time, to attend a school program 4 miles away and on his way back he got on the wrong bus.Service: A/C installation & repair

I took two cars there for repairs and general check up and got amazing service and price there. The staffs were so friendly and constantly give me updates of my services. I can t say enough how surprised I was, the shopping center was super fun as well, and have all kinda banks and restaurants so I always have a great experience throughout since you can really get so much done for the trip.

1/16/2022. What a delight to work with Jose! Yesterday my tire indicator light came on; I pulled over, checked all of the tires and discovered that I had a probable leak in the passenger front right side tire (with significantly less tire pressure than the others, who were all at 36). My usual "go to" repair place was closed on the weekend. I called Potomac Auto Care about 11:15 am, as they were nearby and I had seen the "Under New Management" sign next to the Sunoco for several months now. I'm glad I called! I told Jose the nature of the problem; he said he could see me at noon. I confess to being a a little concerned initially, as I noted his closing hour was in less then two hours and I feared I may need a new tire. By the time I got there, it was apparent that the tire was even even lower (but not yet flat). Fortunately, Jose was prompt and ready just at the time he promised. And in less then thirty minutes, he diagnosed and dealt with the issue: a damaged rim (probably from my driving through too many potholes near Montgomery Mall!) and the tire was separating from the rim...hence the leak. Not a nail or a botched patch job from any previous repair at another merchant. Jose discovered something new and then repaired it at a very reasonable price. No more tire indicator light, and I made an appointment that afternoon! This was my first time to visit his shop and I will be back. Bravo, Jose, and thanks for the help!Service: Tires

Shamelessly exploitative. Took my car in for squeaky brakes and was told I'd need to spend almost $1000 for new brake shoes and new rear tires. Took it to NTB for a second opinion and they said brakes are brand new (which they are) and probably just need to be cleaned. Cost me $35.

I called to make an appointment for a state inspection. Very friendly the next day early in the morning. All good. I bring the car up. I see only one guy working . 4 bays available. Drop the car. Fill up a form. No receipt. No nothing. I asked him how long it will take. He tells me 2 hours maximum. This was 9.10 am. At 12 pm I go there to see what's the status. No one touched it. They came up with the story about an inspector been busy with another car but by 3 pm will be done. Lies. After 10 min they called me scared that they can't do it, inspector is busy. Lies. There was no inspector. It is only 1 guy working. And By the way the state inspection is 135 when everywhere else is 80. Do not even enter in this shop. Avoid it. Total unprofessional.

Quoted $595 for parts/labor and the next day when it was ready, charged $1200. Extremely dishonest. We will be filing a BBB complaint and contacting all our elected representatives.
