Ray and Desmond's are the top notch, especially for aircooled VW work. After another shop completely trashed my engine attempting a rebuild, Ray took the time to find the right parts that worked best with what was salvageable from my existing engine. No more oil leaks or knocks. Engine is super smooth and has awesome power. I've dealt with three other aircooled shops in the area for various repairs and they are by far the best. Super honest and super fair pricing. I will definitely be returning for service when needed! I cannot speak highly enough of this shop.

We absolutely love this shop! The team is friendly and knowledgeable and repairs are completed quickly and accurately for a very fair price. My entire family brings their Hondas here. Thanks Tim and team for everything!

Honest, straightforward, and reasonable prices! Took great care of my car and also took the time to explain in detail everything they were doing, and called during the service appt to keep me updated on everything. I appreciate this so much! The guys at Desmond's are the absolute best. When the business sold a few years back, my wife and I were nervous because her family had been using them for years and wondered if the business would change. Sure, it has changed (modernization etc) but they are dependable and honest. Nothing is more important than this when talking about a service like auto mechanics. I could not recommend them more!!

A neighbor who owns a Volkswagen suggested I take mine to Desmond's a few years ago for service. I have been going there ever since. I just want to say that the guys that work her are very good at what they do I recently had my 2012 Volkswagen Beetle fixed at a reasonable price. The dealer was going to charge a outrageous amount to fix the car and come to find out what they said was not what was wrong with my car. I had my car towed from the dealer to Desmond's they had my car fix within two days -- Needless to say I love the work they did and the price will be taking my car back to them for regular maintenance. I highly recommend them if you drive a Volkswagen.

I'll just reiterate what everyone else has already said. I took my Volkswagen to Desmond's on Taylor Ave to have new tires put on and to find out why the check engine light was on. Tim and Ray were excellent to work with throughout the entire process and communicated with me daily. I'm very happy with the service I received relative to the money I spent and would not hesitate taking my vehicle there in the future. I would recommended them to anyone with a VW or Audi, since these are the vehicles they specialize in, although they do work on all makes and models.

This is the best auto shop in Baltimore, maybe even Maryland! Everyone who works here is helpful and respectful and never talks down to you, which I appreciate. Their prices are more than reasonable and they always have the job completed in a timely manner.

I love this place! Desmond's is the only place that has touched my VW Tiguan since I bought it and they are helping me keep it running (200k+). They are honest, dependable, and have great communication.

Desmond's is the only place I trust.I've been going to Desmond's since I got my Jetta in 2014, based off of a recommendation from a friend who's been taking their VW for many years. Besides, my father (who is a mechanic), possibly the dealership, Desmond's, is the only shop I trust to work on my car. The customer service is phenomenal. They explain everything they're going to do for your car, break down the issues in an understandable fashion, and will even give you a plan of action if you can't get everything done at once. The fact that they mostly work on VW is comforting to me because I feel that I can trust that they're very knowledgeable about my car. There is just something about Desmond's that makes me feel they're in this for the love of cars and not to scam/ rob and I never feel like they're trying to upsell me. They're very fair with the pricing and will even give you a price comparison from the start. I come across town to Desmond's no matter what.

Desmond's is the best. I always recommend them to VW owners, even if they don't live close. Very honest mechanic who doesn't take advantage of someone like me, who doesn't know very much about cars.

I've been taking my VWs to Desmond's Auto for 8+ years now and not one complaint. They are very quick, friendly, professional, and VERY reasonable considering how expensive VW parts and services can be. If you are looking for a reliable auto shop that specializes in VWs, look no further!

What a great little shop. Extremely friendly, very honest and cost friendly. And I got 3 months of satellite radio free after my visit. My new go to auto shop since my old one closed up.

Extremely honest shop, They really take good care. Had the alternator replaced in an 03 Passat V6 by the close of the second business day. Speedy considering you need to remove the front end to access it. Very nice price as well. Hands down the best VW specialty shop I've ever dealt with.

Great as usualI took the car in for routine maintenance. Tim told me that the flange between the resonator and muffler needs to be replaced, but that they couldn't do that, they would have to replace the whole system. He referred me to a muffler specialist that would do what was needed for much less. That's the kind of service i like.

I have been taking my 2010 VW Passat SW to Desmond for the past 3 years and I could not be happier.Besides the fact they are extremely competent and helpful, this is the first and only car shop I have ever been to where they don't try to push unneeded repairs down your throat.

I know you won't find a more honest person! I've dealt with many mechanics who just steal your money. If it's not broke...they don't fix it!!! You never have to worry about getting charged for unnecessary repairs! They are highly skilled, professional and great people who care about their customers!!! Recommended by my mail carrier who said she and some of my neighbours take their VWs here, I was impressed by their professionalisn, their honesty, the quality of their work, and the cost of the repairs. Truly, if you're looking for someplace to repair your VW, take it to Desmond's; I'm pretty sure you'll be as pleased as I am!

I drive from DC to Parkville to go to Desmond's. I have an older VW TDI and they are very knowledgeable. They are also honest and disclose things like minor oil leak or a noisy fly wheel but acknowledge that in a car so old, it's not worth fixing. They are the only mechanic I trust with my car!

Desmond's is the place for you If you have a Volkswagen ( those notoriously crazy-to-work-on vehicles! I trust no one else... not even the dealer... with my car. If you have a VW, you likely have a turbo... so don't mess! People come from outside the state to bring their beloved VWs to Desmond's. The array of older vehicles in the lot awaiting the staff's TLC says it all. Family-owned since the dawn of it's time, this team is TALENTED and beyond honest. They'll never charge you for a thing you don't need. Desmond's was recommended by a community director who knows every business within miles and who owned a VW himself. I knew my source was sound! For 5 years, Desmond's had kept my 09 Passat as racy as ever. I also have another friend with a different foreign make/model that's older than dirt --- how Desmond's keeps it running is beyond me. Needed tires last visit and I didn't even question what they were putting on. The price was so amazingly reasonable, I knew they'd be the best value and no reason to even question. Yes, I'm a female, but I'm a gear head, so we stood and chatted about the newfangled injector cleaner they are testing --- and talked about how to create a study of its performance! Nothing is going to be new that these guys won't test. They are smart, smart, SMART! I'm writing a great review because they deserve it... I actually kindly request that if you don't have a VW... go someplace else because for VW owners, Desmond's is ours, ours, OURS!!! We're devoted and plentiful clientele. Go find one that services your brand of car, LOL! ;-)
