Two adults visited this small, free museum for a couple of hours in mid-June 2023 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It consists of two floors with the second currently under renovation and not open. The first floor has an interesting mix of items relating to transportation including restored vintage autos, a fire engine, buggies, bicycles, toys, tools, etc., with many informational placards. Well worth a couple of hours to browse the items. Elementary or older children will find it interesting. The B&O Railroad museum is across the street and the Garrett County Historical museum is also nearby.

Lots of interesting information and displays in a small museum, it's rather impressive. There's also trains and an old station outside by the still active tracks. That entire small section of Oakland, MD is really nice. Several eclectic, mostly well kept small town businesses and a farmer's market (in season).

This museum denotes the modes of transportation throughout the years from boats to cars to trains and is very well done the displays are thoughtful. It has 2 levels and is easily accessible by stairs or elevator. The Packard 160 on display is immaculate you will not be disappointed. This is not just a car museum. There's so much more to see the memorabilia are something to see in itself.

Amazing historical items on exhibit. There is a 1916 Ford Model T, a crank-start fire truck that still runs, a beautiful model of the old Oakland train station and tons more. My 2 year old enjoyed it as much as my Mother. Really a great stop when it's too hot or rainy to enjoy the outdoors in Oakland or Deep Creek, Md.
