Met Gil through the GS club some years back. Had him do the interior and top on my '66 Skylark GS. Came out great. He also has done some interior work and a top on my '72 Riviera. His knowledge of materials especially on older cars and doing it right is unmatched. He's straight forward, explains everything and keeps great communication with the customer. Best upholstery shop in the area bar none!Updated December 2023. I just had the driver lower door panel and headliner done last week. Both came out fantastic.

These guys are top notch - effective, efficient and FAST. The roof liner in my wife s Porsche Cayman failed miserably. These guys made the new roof liner look like it was fresh from the factory in Germany. You know the saying, Happy wife - happy life . They saved the day and I say thank you a thousand times.

Gil and his band of merry men are incredible . I needed my headliner replaced in my 2005 volvo and I needed it bad. I called Gil and his team worked with me and my schedule to make it happen. I really enjoyed the personal touch of him contacting me, speaking to me and making sure I understood what I was getting. It felt personal and I liked that I wasn't just another number on their books. The price was great as well, right in my bidget. Even better, the headliner is perfect and the sunroof is perfect. There was a little issue with the sunroof not closing automatically but when I explained the issue to Gil he knew exactly how to remedy the problem and quickly. I highly recommend this family business as they take pride in what they do and it shows. The replacement liner is better than the original. I have received many compliments on it. Had some 60s bucket seats redone by these guys. They turned out absolutely fantastic. They look amazing and they feel awesome too. I will absolutely be coming back for the rest of my auto upholstery needs.

Gil is an honest dude. Very much a subscriber of "don't waste my time and I won't waste yours" He gave an estimate that was a little higher than I like but wasn't unreasonable. The workmanship was worth the price paid and he finished two days ahead of request. I'd definitely bring my business back there.

Tommy, the owner s son, replaced the headliner in our Honda Ridgeline. He did an excellent job! The workmanship was outstanding, the service was professional, and the price was reasonable. Based on the number of positive reviews, I called and initially spoke with the owner- he was initially cordial and informative and we set up an appointment for me to bring in my headliner (I explained that I had removed it from the car). The day of my appt, they had a scheduling conflict (they were working on a van). I explained that rather than reschedule (I had taken the day off for the appt) I might have to take the headliner to another shop. I asked for the owner to call me back but no one ever did. I was going to get the work done by another shop but based on how positive our first conversation was, I decided to give this shop another try. I called them back today to see about a rescheduled appt. I asked to speak to the owner- he came on the call and angrily told me I never brought the car into his shop, so there could not have been an appt. I tried to remind him that, per our first conversation, I was only bringing in my headliner- we had agreed he would need a day to re-line it and I could pick it up the following day. The owner became VERY irate and argumentative. I then decided I did not want to give this man my business- as he went on, I tried to tell him to have a nice day (3 x s), but he kept asking me what did you say? I ended the call, thankful that he never got his hands on my headliner. Bad scheduling + very bad attitude= bad business. It s rare, that I give negative reviews, but public, you ve been warned.

Terrific customer experience. Took my Pathfinder in for a torn seat panel. Gil was very friendly on the phone and provided a lot of information. When I took my car in he promptly gave me an estimate, explained the repair, and assured me of the work. When I picked up my car I couldn t have been more pleased. The repair matched perfectly in color and texture. Gil is not only a craftsman, he also knows how to provide great customer service. I could not be more pleased.Service: Upholstery repair

I emailed the website email address, the guy freaked out because I emailed him after hours. Wasn t like I was calling his phone. He should remove his email from the website if he doesnt want poeple to email him and maybe should stope being rude to possible business clients. Such bad expeince without even actually getting any work done! Surpirse he is still in business.

Mr.Gilbert is outstanding! He was fast, very professional, and my upholstery work done in my car look brand new. Himself as well as his staff are great best shop in Maryland with no doubt. I recommend them highly. Thanks GS!

The headliner on my Honda Pilot started to sag, so I wanted to get it replaced. Gil and his employee Jeremy were wonderful to work with! I was able to get an appointment quickly and the new headliner looks fantastic. I had picked out a fabric color for the headliner that looked to be a close match to the sun visors. When they started to work on the headliner, Gil and Jeremy realized the fabric I chose was a few shades off. They called and asked if they could keep my Pilot an extra day so they could order a fabric that more closely matched the sun visor color; this was fine with me. The new headliner fabric is a near-perfect match to the sun visors! And then Gil THANKED me for allowing them to keep my Pilot an extra day to do the job right. I would highly recommend this place for any auto upholstery repair needs.Service: Upholstery repair

2009 Jaguar XF headliner repair. Gil took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do. He fixed a minor issue with my sunroof for no extra charge. The work was done within 24 hours and it looks great. The price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend them.

Gil, the owner was very professional and easy to deal with. They replaced headliner on my Volkswagen Beatle in a few hours. It looks fantastic now, like a brand new car inside. I would recommend this business to anyone in need of car upholstery repairs. Thanks a lot!

I am new to the area and wanted to replace my mini van headliner. I called/emailed several auto upholstery shops for quotes and chose GS upholstery not only for their fair and reasonable quote, but also for the excellent and professional customer service I received on the phone from the owner, Gil.From my first phone contact with Gil to the completion of the job I was very impressed with the professionalism of Gil and his staff. As a newcomer to the area, I was deeply appreciative of the hospitality shown me in the waiting room.When my husband and I picked up the van, my husband, who is pretty hard to impress, was very impressed with the quality of materials and workmanship. Later that week my adult son took a look at the job and said, "Wow, this looks great".I will not hesitate to highly recommend GS Auto Upholstery/Gil to anyone needing car upholstery service.Thank you Gil & staff for your incredible workmanship and warm, professional customer service!

I am a car salesman from called from Florida, and I sold a Maserati to a client in the Annapolis area. There was a minor issue with the B pillar causing the passenger side seat belt to not function correctly. I spoke with Gil and asked him if it was something they could take care of and if I could pay him with our company credit card over the phone after correcting the issue. Gil said to send my client in and he would diagnose the issue and set an appointment with my client to get the issue fixed. I called my client and he said he was nearby and he brought it over immediately. Within 30 minutes I received a call from my client saying he went by and that GS had already corrected the problem and that they did it for no charge!! An issue like this could have been expensive considering we couldn't look at it ourselves from across the country and many companies out there would and could have used that against us and charged fees for things that weren't necessary at all. What a first class organization! Thank you so much Gil, and thanks to your team there for helping us and my client out, 5 stars across the board! I definitely recommend GS Auto Upholstery to anyone with any upholstery needs!

Gil at GS Auto Upholstery was fantastic. I had leather seats installed in my Ford F-150 and he thoroughly explained the process and timeframe. Great experience at this shop; Gil and crew were very knowledgable and did an excellent job with a full interior leather replacement for my 07 Acura TL Type-S. Very straightforward and honest, no BS. Gil was very helpful and understanding on an unusual fix on my convertible top. My car kept throwing up issues but not once did he hint at giving up. He was very understanding of my situation and kept the price affordable even after so many problems.

I went to GS to have my Mustang Convertible top Replaced. Met the Owner and he was extremely knowledgeable and was able to go over the complete process. The convertible top was replaced perfectly and I have had no problem since. I highly recommend!

My driver seat was ripped and really bothered me. I had in fixed by one of these leather repair people (quick fix) and it lasted about 2 months. Gil replaced the whole bottom seat. I got vinyl but you can't tell the difference from leather. Looks like a brand new seat from the dealer. Also for some reason the carpet in my truck was going bad like someone spilled some kind of chemical. He replaced the carpet and its better then when I got it new. Hes a little expensive but I didn't mind because the quality of work was superb. All I can say is excellent craftsmanship....

Worked with Gil who owns the shop and seems to be really good people. He is very personal and upfront about his pricing. Work was neat and completed in the time he estimated and under quoted cost. I recommend him.

These people are magicians...the seats in our 2009 Equinox looks brand new. We delivered the car at 10 and picked it up at 2:20. Gil, the owner could not have been nicer. It's hard to impress me, but they did it!

I was very pleased with this company. They replaced the drivers side seat cover in my 2014 Benz. They were courteous and explained in detail the process. They were quick; I waited at the library in Severna Park during the repairs. Very happy with this company.

Fixed my headliner in one day. 2003 volvo v40. Stupendous job. Great eye for detail. Honest and up front business. Very personable head honcho in charge of the operation.
