I took my car into the shop. The guy was very honest and very thorough with his work. I was very impressed. I ve taken my car to other shops and I ve never gotten this satisfaction that I ve gotten from this garage. I will no longer take my car no other place but here, I give this place a five star very impressed with your work very honest

Greg did an excellent job replacing my power steering rack and cleaning up all the power steering fluid that had drenched the lower half of my engine. The repair was made timely and priced fairly. I had went to Greg one year ago today before making a big move to Florida to have a all around check of my car to assure my family and I made it safe. He was very honest, efficient, and thorough! He explained everything he was doing to the vehicle before it was done and the state of my car. Fast forward to today I took my car to the dealership for a tire rotation and just a all around look of the car in Florida to make sure everything was still great (I have had no issues just a check up while I was there), they told me my car was PERFECT! I have never had a dealership say this to me, dealerships are hard to impress. I payed a great rate for what feels like a brand new car, I recommend Greg to everybody in the Harford or Baltimore county area!

Nice people, seemed quite competent. They have a few cats around who were very friendly, but it s something to note in case of allergies. Our uhaul was a bit dirty and they offered to immediately clean it. The only knock I ll give is the inside (especially the ceiling) is in serious need of renovation. Overall seemed like a great place.

I scheduled an appointment with a proper estimate set almost a week ago and they waited till the last minute to update the estimate to a higher price. All because they didn't update their systems online. Poor organization on their part and it cost me an extra 2 days of business.

Found this location due to endurance warranty. They are 45 min away but the drive wouldn t matter. They really take care of your vehicle, couldn t be happier with my 2011 Chevrolet Impala. Had them replace my transmission and other repairs. Great cost, great company I couldn t be happier. Even when some of my wires somehow got pulled they fixed them same day for me and I was able to pick my car back up the same day. Thank you again!

I needed brakes for my car. Golden Ring Car & Truck came highly recommended, and so I gave them a try. Fantastic experience!! I will refer all my family and friends here. Greg was thorough and very professional. He kindly explained all that was involved in a way that I could understand. Such a caring soul; love the office cats he rescued. All round good guy!! After having to pay approx. 5K worth of work to be done on my car I was told it was fixed and nothing else was could be an issue. I starting having the same issues and took it back multiple times to be corrected. Every time it was something different that they thought was the problem even after I asked the first time if it could it be anything else. I was told no. Took it up there again one last time and it was suppose to be fixed now but I am having the same issue. On a late Friday afternoon, I had an overheating car emergency and after calling Greg at Golden Ring Car & Truck Repair that evening, I was able to bring the car in first thing in the morning. (One of the VERY FEW places that does wok on Saturday.) Greg was EXTREMELY accommodating and after extensive troubleshooting, explained that although he couldn't duplicate the problem, find anything out of the ordinary or tell me exactly what the problem was, he concisely explained possible causes and the cost of possible fixes. Unlike other repair places, he didn't try to sell me on "needed" or unnecessary work and parts. This showed me that he is VERY knowledgeable and has strong business ethics!! He will always get my return business! I highly recommend Golden Ring Car & Truck Repair.

Are they capable and competent to work on cars and trucks? Absolutely! I had brake work done and a couple small odd jobs.replaced front brake calipers , the two small hoses, pads , rotors, rear wheel cylinders, self adjusters, and rear axle seals. 18 hours labor!!! at 100 dollars an hour thats 18 hours. thats two full days plus two hours of a third day to do this work. In my opinion ase certified mechanics should have had this done in half the time?This is a one day job. Fool me once.........Service: Auto brake repair

I've been using Golden Ring Car and Truck repair for a couple of years for both my 2010 Camry and my wife's 2005 Ford Explorer. We have always been very happy with the work.The first time I used Golden Ring Car and Truck repair was to get a 2nd opinion, I was told by a large tire / auto repair chain that I needed a new rear differential on my wife's Explorer. Greg told me the differential could be re-sealed and didn't need to be replaced. I saved around 2k thanks to Greg and have never had any additional problems with the rear differential.Greg is an exceptional mechanic, he does what is needed and at a fair price. I highly recommend Golden Ring Car and Truck repair.

I was so happy to find this place. I had a differential problem I thought would be expensive and they took the time to tell me where the problem was and saving me big bucks. So I asked Greg to look at other areas (since I knew this place has integrity above the usual shops). They fixed two other repairs, safety concerns, and I'm extremely happy with the work. Im finding other areas of my Yukon to be worked on there. I f you find a great shop, keep them. Super happy! E.S.

Honest! This shop was able to take me as a walk in immediately. I was experiencing brake failure on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was told by Thompson Dodge, there were no Recalls on my model and year of Jeep. They expected me to leave my vehicle with them for over a week so they could charge me for the work. So thankfully I found Golden Ring Truck and Car Repair. I limped my Jeep in and they took it back to the garage immediately. Within 30 minutes the gentlemen was back to deliver the verdict. He said he could fix it. But rather than just do the work and charge me (which because of Thompson Dodge, I would have been none the wiser). He did some research and found out there was indeed a recall! I then took it to a dealer that could and would do all of the recalls.Case in point, this shop will bend over backwards to do what is best for you. I myself am a mechanic and he didn't try to play me for a fool or rip me off. I know where I'll go in the future if need be. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!! Thank you again!

(3 Stars - See UPDATE below)We own two cars that we bought used (a CR-V and a Ranger). For several years now, we've been taking them to Greg whenever either one has an issue.I highly recommend him.He's fixed every problem or issue we've brought to him. The work gets done quickly, and I'd call the prices we've seen completely fair. I feel way more comfortable going here than to a dealership.The cats at the office are a nice bonus (I wish more businesses had pets you could play with in the waiting area).UPDATE 11/02/18:Unfortunately, I have to make an update to my review, and lower my rating. Sorry Greg.To repair some front end creaking, I had purchased and installed a number of Moog suspension components on my truck. I then brought the truck into Golden Ring to perform an alignment once finished (and fix a check engine light unrelated to this update).Admittedly, I made two errors I had placed my new upper control arms on the wrong sides (left on the right, and vice versa), and hadn't purchased and installed Camber bolts.The first call I got from the shop, Greg explained that he needed to add the Camber and Caster kits; also, that he tightened several front end parts that he said hadn't been fully tightened down, and the cotter pins left off (I explained on the phone that the cotter pins were intentional; I still had them in my garage didn't want to add until we were sure that all the parts were good).During the second call he told me there was a still a problem, and he thought maybe I had bought the wrong parts. So I brought in the old parts I had taken off the truck for comparison; also verified with Moog that I ordered the correct parts.On the third call Greg found the "L" marking on the upper control arm I had installed on the right side good catch! Greg still didn't trust the parts I bought, but I told him to go ahead and switch the right and left upper control arms. After that, it was time to pick up the truck.This is where my problem starts. I was charged for 4 Caster/Camber adjustment kits at $54.64 apiece ($218.56 total) but I can see that you can buy a Moog kit for $54, and that only 1 per side should be necessary. Then I was charged a line item to "Tighten Front End Parts Customer Replaced" for $110 (!!!!). The first wheel alignment and install of Camber kits was $399.95, and then switching the sides plus re-align tacked on another $309.95.I got in the truck, and it was obvious within a minute that the steering was not right to go straight, I had to keep the wheel turned slightly to the right. Turned right around, back to the shop, and let Greg drive it. He blamed the parts I bought, and said he would need to buy his own upper control arms and re-do the alignment to straighten out the steering. I declined.So today I just spent $116 for an alignment at Mr. Tire the alignment is now perfect and the steering is true, plus they got it back to me in only a few hours. Clearly the parts weren't the problem.Obviously some of the expense was my fault for installing parts on the wrong side. But the disparity between what I paid (over $1000) for an alignment that still wasn't finished, and my experience at Mr. Tire was rather eye opening. Mr. Tire charged me for the whole deal for about what I got hit with for "Tighten front end parts" at Golden Ring.Bonus: the emergency tire jack was taken out of it's housing and was just sitting with the arm extensions in the back of the cab. Why was this even taken out? Why wasn't it put away??

my wife went to get a new radiator, over charged her 500 when the part only cost 160. the mechanic tried to sell her a thermostat from the get go bringing the total to 660. she Told him do radiator first then test thermostat. After putting in new radiator car was fine. Then tried to sell her AC freon for almost 200. AC was working fine before she took it there now it isn't. she Went to a friend who tested the hi/low and it was fine. These mechanics are not honest and try to up sell. If u need your car fixed don't go here.

I would never go back. I paid $350.00 to have my wheels aligned, 2 light bulbs replaced and 2 nails removed from my tires. And when I asked for an itemized receipt he refused.I checked with the dealer ( Lexus of Towson) and the cost would have been $210.00 .I guess he only my business on that day. NO INTEGRITY SO SAD.FYI- I love animals but to have 7 cat's in your place of business is so out of order.

Thank you Golden Ring Auto and Truck. I have used your services in the past and always been happy. But this time I had a repair and made mistake of going to a "local" repair facility. I knew right away something was not right as they immediately identified my problem but told me to come back tomorrow when the new part came in. I asked if it was something that could be fixed instead of just buying a new part and was told no. What a difference as you have done in the past you took my car in and about an hour later you had it running like brand new. And guess what instead of spending $700 it was a $120 fix. You guys are great and I have learned my lesson, I will make sure I tell all my friends to come see you as you all are the best.

I have an older Motorhome. Greg has been wonderful. It's wonderful having a true mechanic, instead of a parts changer. Prices are fair and he's prompt with his work.

Way over priced. They gave me a price for a transmission replacement after calling around I got the same work done for $700 less and a better warranty. They will try to rush you to get the work done so you don't have a chance to call around. Call around before getting work done there.
