Went to J&M for a few minor issues with my car. Mechanic acted irritated and rude. After 8 days the car was fixed and I went to pick it up. I was quoted $900 to fix the 3 issues. Upon arriving at the shop only 2 of the issues was fixed and Mechanic claimed he didn't know how to put on a door side panel. I was still charged the original quote that was for all 3 repairs. Not sure if this Mechanic plays dumb or is actually intelligent and is just scamming people out of there hard earned money. I have my attorney reviewing invoice given to me. However regardless of the route I take from this point I STRONGLY!!!!!!!! Advise any and all to avoid this immoral scamming company at all cost. People there are many well qualified friendly fast and efficient mechanics whom do the work correctly and at decent prices.P.SAlways take/ask for a invoice of the work performed, parts ordered, etc etc...

Great service by Joe.My wife, her son and I trust J&M with our vehicles. Joe got my vehicle in the next day. He replaced the part I thought was defective and found that my back brakes were due to be replaced. At 65,000 miles it was time.

My daughter is in college at St. Mary's. I live in Baltimore. Her car broke down and I found J&M by reading their reviews. I was able to work with them over the phone to get her back on the road. It's all true. Fast, friendly and affordable. I highly recommend.

Joe is great and very fairly priced. Always able to get me in ASAP and does his work quickly. One of the most honest mechanics out there and I can't recommend him enough. My whole family goes here and we haven't been disappointed yet

Recently took my wife's Sienna minivan to the Toyota dealership for oil change and tire rotation. Dealership gave a long list of recommended repairs that totalling over $4000 on parts they did not have or no estimated date. J and M did the repairs next day with ordering replacement parts. They did not double charge on labor and gave us honest pricing. They even showed me the replaced parts and the damages on them. They saved me a lot of time and money. My daughter goes to St. Marys College and broke down at 6:45PM on Friday of Labor Day Weekend. We had it towed by PJ's (also awesome and recommend highly) who towed it to their shop since nothing was open. J&M is located right next to PJ's and read the reviews and they were highly recommended. Call Joe on Tuesday AM and he said he would look at it that day. Did not disappoint. Joe was awesome and had my daughter's car up and running in less than a day with a reasonable price for the repairs.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

I had a weird whining sound in my 2014 Volvo and the gentleman behind the counter was very considerate in taking his time to leave the counter to listen to it and take it in to stethoscope without charging for a diagnostic. Once they got the part in, the repair was straightforward, timely, and plenty fair priced.I also like the transparency they have in their shop on the cost per hour and some of their other services. I'll definitely be returning for my future car maintenance needs.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I want to share a great experience I had with J&M Auto Service owned and operated by Joe Gould. I brought my truck in that sat for a few years four to be exact. I gave Joe an open checkbook and said fix whatever needs to be fixed. Not only did he do great work he did it at a fair price. Two thumbs up and I highly recommend J&M Auto Service

This is the only mechanic I will be bringing my vehicles to. We had two to be inspected, started with one, and when it was all done, did the other. The owner (Joe) is honest fair and reasonable. He is upfront about his costs and transparent about the work he does and needs doing. He will even let you bring your own parts, so you know what is going on your car or so you can try to find the parts cheaper. He has been flexible and accommodating about our repair needs and he is generally helpful.As a woman going to a mechanic, it can be a concern whether you will be treated as a person with knowledge and understanding, and Joe absolutely does that. I have nothing but good things to say about this shop, and I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend them to any and every person I know.As a bonus, I have two toddlers, and this shop has been considerate of that and worked to prioritize my needs when I have had to wait in the waiting room (a very clean, comfortable space), especially when I have called ahead.

Seriously you all, if your vehicle is EVER in need of service, do yourself a favor and bring it to J&M! I know of people and family members who had followed Mr. Joe when he decided to branch off and open his shop because of his strong work ethics and the honesty he has always provided his customers. Mr. Joe and his team have always been courteous and professional. J&M is the type of business you can trust I know it's hard to believe because they are hard to come by these days, but I would NOT leave such a review if I didn't think highly of them and the services they provide. Just give them a try what do you have to lose?

The folks at J & M are TOP NOTCH and I would happily recommend them to anyone needing great automotive work at a fair price. Joe Gould is personable and explained everything to me what was needed to be done and the bill didn't give me a heart attack. This is an honest repair shop and I'm sure that you won't go wrong trusting them with your repair needs. Thank you J & M for making me believe in auto mechanic shops again!

I cannot praise this mechanic enough. As a woman taking the car to the shop, I ve been ripped off so many times especially as my car is European. This will be the only place I now take my car. Joe was professional, courteous, and actually told me he couldn t charge me anything because there was nothing to fix. When does that ever happen? What an incredible place. Please take your cars there. J and M Auto are totally honest, professional, punctual, and just perfect. I cannot rate highly enough.

I trust very few people, especially mechanics. Joe Gould (owner operator) is one of those few. If I can't do it myself or need something done to get the warranty he's the man. I've known him for a few years and his reputation proceeded him as an honest and giving family man. When he's not helping people at his garage, he and his family have been helping the community thru volunteer fire and ems. No matter how busy he is, he always takes the time to answer even dumb questing and lend a hand. Don't take my word for it, stop by the shop and talk to him. Then make up your own mind.

Very top notch service, I have my entire fleet serviced here. Honest, trustworthy, to the point.Just had a full engine and transmission replacement done. Truck hasn't run this good in years. Incredibly good prices. Offers fire service discount. Anything from brakes to full rebuilds. They have replaced my ac unit, brakes, tires, tune ups, engine codes, heater cores, no problems. Hopefully they can get a alignment machine soon, wo I can do all my business there. To the owners and staff. Thank you for keeping my business rolling

It was a bit expensive of an hourly rate of $100 per hour, but it was worth it how fast, professional, and good they were. They put in a new alternator for me in 30 minutes.

Took it to change my fuel pump on my vehicle since I didn t have to tools or manpower to do it. I was told it could be done the same day and same day it was! Bought my fuel pump prior and they changed it out for me no problem! Great service overall and would definitely take my car back again if need be.

I developed a radiator leak, I was putting in fluid and it was immediately flowing onto the ground and I couldnt drive more than 2 minutes without my engine overheating. J & M were able to see me on short notice, and repaired the issue in less than a day. I dropped it off on tuesday at 2:00. They had it back to me by 0900 on Wednesday.Best car place in southern Maryland, Go there for all your needs!Service: Engine repair
