Came in for an oil change, and they gave me a tire rotation at no charge, as well as an inspection. I noticed as they pulled my truck in, they were working together testing all the turn signal functionality, among other things. In and out in 40 minutes. They have good organization, work well together, and were honest. Great shop!

We typically take our vehicles here for work. Majority of the time they are reasonably priced and have great work quality. Josh usually is the person I speak to and has been professional and helpful.Had my nephew take his truck here too and they took care of him quickly and reasonably.

My check engine light came on while passing through on a road trip. They were kind enough to help us out and look at it right away. 10/10 service!!

Passing through from Virginia to Ohio when my temperature gauge started indicating problems. I pulled in to Smith and son and they were able to see me quickly and help me out with a coolant refresh. Great service, very helpful

My F-150 had engine issues on I-70 and we made it across the street from Smith & Son one night before the holidays. Josh kept me up to date throughout the repair process, which took a while due to backordered parts. I had some issues after the repair, but they stood behind their work like no repair shop I've ever dealt with! Truck is running great again, and flaky rear door sensing is fixed 100%.If I didn't live 1.5 hours away, I would take my vehicles to Smith & Son for all service! Great customer service.

Excellent services and extremely professional. I recently had gas guage problem, and Rodney was the only one there at the time. He professionally looked at everything concerning the issue. Luckily, there wasn't a fixable problem. He explained everything for me to look for if a problem actually occurred. They are my mechanics, and I highly recommend Smith and Sons.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment

On our way from PA to Chincoteague VA, we began to have some trouble with one of the wheels on our SUV. Upon pulling off and inspecting the vehicle, it was clear that we couldn't make it much further. Luckily Smith & Son Automotive was right across the highway from the Pilot Station we pulled into and the doors were open! The problem was quickly diagnosed parts were delivered and our wheel was fixed up within an hour or so. The price was very reasonable especially considering it kept us on track for our trip. He also made contact with and had us on our way to Firestone tire (also positive experience). Smith & Son Automotive saved our vacation! Thanks Again!Services: Tires, Wheel alignment

My flex plate broke in my 2500 3 times had fixed by 3 different shop it kept sheering off around bolts, last time it broke I was pulling a trailer and had it towed to smith n sons I believe his name is Rodney Smith, he is the only mechanic that knew that the aftermarket flex plates u have to take extra washer/shims out behind plate bolted it up never had another problem with it. I take all my cars and trucks to him now. I gotta tell u after 3 mechanics this guy knows what he is doing, that makes me wanna pay full price even thoe he is very good on pricing 5 .Service: Engine repair

They were super kind and helpful. He made sure we got the lowest price possible and even called around trying to find us the best deal on a new alternator. The mechanic also informed us on any other issues he saw, topped off the coolant, and dealt with us in his waiting room for a few hours. As someone who has been taken advantage of in an auto place it was nice to know they were genuinely trying to make sure we had a good experience. 10/10 would visit again hopefully not with the same problem.

Rodney and his team are honest, hard working, and won't waste your time. I took a vehicle here for a new transmission, works great. The salvage yard we bought the transmission from tried screwing me over multiple times with beat up transmissions, so Rodney stepped in and took care of business. He won't try to upswell you, and he does quality work. I was so glad to find a trustworthy mechanic I took my second vehicle in for a new brake line. Great guys over there. Will be my mechanic for years to come.

Smith & Son took care of my car last year. I loved the fellas working there. Nice fair and did a great job. I sent my son recently to get work done on his truck. He found the same experience. Nice friendly helpful and knowledgeable. A great team there!!!!

Rodney and the guys at Smith and Son do an incredible job!! I was in desperate need of help with my travel plans for this recent holiday, and they were MORE than accommodating!! Had an issue with my jeep not firing correctly and they were able to do a high level diagnostic in a quick manner over the course of a day, and we're able to give me every option to repair it, and we're able to work with me to come up with the best solution for my budget. Truly an honest place to get your auto work done at! Will be continuing to go to them as well as the rest of my family, and anyone that asks for automotive help!!

You will not find a more qualified, or reasonable price garage, and person, like Rodney. I have known Rodney for many year`s, and he has helped and assisted with all my recent and past vehicles, and has done a great job on them all. My last repair i had three quotes for, and S & S Auto still came out the cheapest. Use S & S Auto, and Rodney, for all your car needs. Your wallet will feel better for it.

Absolutely the best mechanic experience I've ever had. Traveling on a tight schedule for a wedding, we got a low tire pressure warning, pulled into the first gas station off the interstate, and realized we had a nail in the tire. After a brief panic, we saw Smith & Son right across the street so we rolled in, not knowing whether they were even open (it was early morning Saturday). Luckily the family was there, but doing some chores, so it still wasn't clear whether they were officially open. Nevertheless, they were EXTREMELY friendly and more than happy to take a look at our tire. He re-inflated and patched the tire, double checked, and had me back on the road less than 10 minutes after we had pulled into the gas station across the street. And on top of the overwhelming hospitality, he refused any payment for the work. The wedding was great, but our stop here completely made our day. If I lived close enough to be a loyal customer, I would not hesitate. 5++!!

I had a lot of repairs to get done before my car could pass inspection, and I am so glad I chose to go here. Craig personally took his time to go over everything I needed to get done, and didn't add a bunch of repairs on top to make more money, which has happened to me in the past at other shops. He kept me updated throughout the process and I have had no problems since he fixed the issues. I will be going to him for all of my car needs in the future, and highly recommend you do the same!

Outstanding!! Had to stop by there today with one of my commercial box trucks, having electrical problems on the way to DC. Gentleman was working on another vehicle and came out to greet me. The next thing I know he had the dash off and fixed problem within 30 min, and we were able to get back on the road. If i was local I would take my personal and fleet vehicles to them for service. A good/honest mechanic shop is hard to find....Dont hesitate to make them yours...

I wanted to let everyone know how WONDERFUL Smith & Son Automotive is! They got me an appointment immediately that worked with my schedule and only took 2 hours to get done and was very flexible on when I picked it up. I was so happy with my experience and how professional and helpful they were! They even did a look over, and didn't even try to upsell me! I will continue going back to them for everything I need done with my vehicles!

This place is awesome..I just relocated to Hagerstown from California and my car needed to go thru hell n high waters to pass through Maryland's state inspection . Smith and son's gave my car a safety inspection as if it was a car of their own. They treated me and my ninja turtle (lime green ford fiesta) amazing. They gave me updates often as to the care my car was receiving and what my next steps are to finalize the transformation from California to Maryland registration. This was my first stop for auto care it will remain my only auto service center .. ..Highly recommended you'll be treated like family from Smith and son's..

Can t tell you how great Rodney was to us and how helpful him and his Staff were. Not only did we come across them by happenstance and some misfortune but Rodney went above and beyond to not only get us on our way but was more than honest in his assessment on our vehicle and what would not only be best for us but also our wallet. Very much appreciate the help and if I m ever needing auto help in Hagerstown, I know exactly who to call.

Fantastic people working here. I picked up a large chunk of metal in the rear tire of my car and as luck would have it, my car has no spare tire (2017 Mustang GT) and the attempted repair of the tire by the "Crew" at Smith & Son was not possible due to the location of the damage. With that, they jumped on the phone and found the size I needed at a tire shop down the road, and that was not an easy task due to the size. Mr. Tire was contacted and had exactly one of my size in stock. Mr. Smith's son the one indicated on the sign out front, actually pulled my wheel and tire off, while another crew member offered up his car so that my wheel and damaged tire could be taken ten miles down the road to the tire shop for replacement. They put the thing back on and got me back on the road in no time. This type of service is not what I'm accustomed to where I live in the Pittsburgh area. Again, fantastic group that save me a ton of aggravation and time. FIVE STARS!!!

When my car started acting up on my way to Topsail, NC from Western PA, I thought I was in deep trouble. I pulled off interstate 70 and noticed Smith and Son Automotive. A young man quickly helped me and looked at my car, even took it for a ride to experience the issue. He also hooked my car up to a computer. They found nothing wrong and didn t want to charge me anything. Three out of state women with very little car knowledge could easily have been taken advantage of. If I breakdown I want to breakdown in Hagerstown, Maryland! Thank you Smith and Son Automotive!

I had Smith And Son s put an aftermarket muffler on my 2019 Dodge Ram.....I had bought the mufflers not realizing they would not position right underneath...Rodney walked back and had a different muffler that would work and installed it at a GREAT PRICE!!!! Very friendly shop that cares more about people than money I will definitely be going back for ALL my trucks needs!!!!!!

Took my GMC Envoy to another mechanic about a year ago to fix a problem which should have been taken care of for a good amount of time. Unfortunately the same issue happened and we decided to take it to our local automotive repair whom happens to be Smith & son. During the repair we found out that there were holes drilled where they shouldnt be and even parts dropped and forgotten about within . We felt that our money was well spent and now I a mother of 5 can drive my little ones knowing that care was taken in fixing my vehicle properly. Thank you so much for taking care of our family!

Super awesome dudes. I blew a line and dumped all my coolant across the street. I ran over to the shop after hours and he still answered my questions, gave me some advice, and was ready to help me when he returned in the morning. I was able to replace my part in the parking lot with his advice.

We encountered an emergency (some knocking noise) on the highway and had to make a stop at Smith and Son Automotive. Nate was absolutely amazing. He carefully diagnosed the problem and analyzed the best way to fix it. He and his father helped us resolved the issue and did not even charge us anything. We were almost out of options and hopes but Nate was a life saver.

I feel like part of the family! My car was making some weird knocking noises and I was at work. They didn't want me to drive car anymore until car checked out. They sent truck all the way over to Thurmont where I teach to pick up the car and within hours the problem was solved and the car returned to me! Thanks for taking care of me and standing behind your work! Now my car is running like new and it is over 10 years! These are some of the best young men I have ever met!!

Very honest and is willing to go the extra mile on making sure your satisfied. Also willing to educate you and spread knowledge about your vehicle where most places wont, even if its something you just want to stop by and ask. Highly recommend bringing your vehicle here if you want honest people with an honest price..

Great place. May take them some time to get the job done because they are so busy but they are busy for a reason and that because they do great work. Even got my truck fixed quick after part went bad after they replaced it alread. I highly recommend this shop

This is a fine family. We stopped for gas across the street, and had trouble starting our car. We were driving from Milwaukee wi to Virginia beach. It was scary wondering what we were going to do on a Saturday so far from home. But an amazing bearded man -both man and beard were amazing- stopped what he was doing, put a new clamp on our battery, and refused payment. Who knew there were heroes in Hagerstown, MD?
