I did not come for actual mechanical work, but they were good to me and I always appreciate a decent person these days...They got the job done in a timely manner, communication was thorough and expectations straight up before arrival. I was in & out much quicker than expected, In general, I'd say I was a satisfied customer who would both recommend & return again.

Where do I start. Took my truck in on a Monday for a whining noise in the rear. Was told that it was the front differential, $1074.00 to fix it. They got one used from D&D with a 30 day warranty. Then I was told that my truck also needed inner& outer tie rods, pitman, idler arm, upper & lower control arms which would have been another 1200.00. I had the driver s side control arm replaced 2yrs prior from a different garage, so I said ok to replace everything but the control arms. Picked my truck up that Friday after they were closed, and let me tell you that I now have a new noise, and the initial noise it went in with, is still there. I called them back the following week and told them. Took it back over there on Wednesday and took the mechanic for a ride. He proceeds to tell me that the noise is coming from my tires since they are slightly cupped, and to drive it they should flatten out. Well I got 4 new tires put on that Friday at Buchanan Trail Tire and needless to say the noises are still there. I took my truck for another alignment, due to getting 4 new tires put on at Stines Alignment and I asked him if my upper and lower control arms were bad. He said NO. So needless to say, Dwayne s Shop was basically picking apart my truck (due to age of truck) saying that my truck needed all this extra stuff replaced (above my normal complaint) when really it didn t. So I m $3400.00 into it and it s still not fixed. I will NEVER take my truck back to them and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them unless you want unnecessary repairs and like being ripped off! If I could give them 0 stars I WOULD! I hope they feel good about themselves ripping people off!!

Bought a new engine at the end of 2020. Recently found out through investigation it was a re-manufactured engine and have had nothing but problems with it. I discussed with Dwayne and he says he can't remember back that far but assumed he would have told me it was re-manufactured. Even the receipt says "new engine". If I could go lower than 1 star I would have.Service: Engine repair

My experiences with Dwayne's Auto have been very good! I've got issues with my 2016 GMC Sierra truck. The guys are working to clear the issues that I can trust to anyone else... Not even Fitzgerald Chevrolet!While the problems with my truck are a work in process, I have nothing but praise for the guys working out of Hagerstown!Update...Got my truck back after three months of work! My truck is FIXED, and I am happier than a pig in a sty! Logistics and acquisitions were the reason for delays!My hat is off to the Dwayne Auto Repair team! All my cars are going there for any work... simple or complex!

I had my car towed there due to a blown tire. Both the technician and the lady in the office were friendly and helpful. They had to order the tire that I wanted and told me it would be ready the next day around 12. To my surprise at 11:00am they called to say the car was done and ready to be picked up. The price was very reasonable and I will definitely use this auto facility again.

I ve had my Explorer to Dwayne s twice in the last 3 months for various repairs. Most recently to diagnose and repair a noise in the front end that other garages couldn t fix and to replace a busted radiator. The noise in the front axles is now gone. I don t believe this vehicle had ever drove as good as it does now. Excellent job. This is the best auto repair shop in Hagerstown. He is very honest about what's wrong with your vehicle and what is needed to fix it. He does not gouge hike his prices like corporate garages do, and if you need it fixed right, he is the guy to take it too!!!

I would 110% avoid this place like the plague!! My husband took his car here to have them look at it and see if they could repair whatever this burning smell was and a couple other things. First red flag: they said that they needed to replace a valve that him and I JUST replaced only a week prior. My husband paid the $100 fee to have the look at it and the $1100 to have them fix all these issues it suddenly had. Well second red flag: they didn t fix anything! Car still has the burning smell and it s lack of power had little to no change. Third red flag: He calls them to tell them that his car still smells and they tell him that they don t know if they can look at it again. If you say you fixed the problem and you don t fix the problem, having to take it back should be free of charge. They may be friendly but they aren t real mechanics. Very infuriating.Service: Auto maintenance

Dropped off my vehicle 4 months ago and they could not get parts on time, which I understand since its an older vehicle but no one bothered to call to give us updates and when we would call no one would answer. They gave us an estimate of $1500.00 to repair electrical, 4 months later and they returned a non-working vehicle and still charged us $1500.00 They did not fix the problem, they seem to not know what they're doing. AND to top it off they got the key stuck in the ignition and didn't bother to fix that. Absolutely unprofessional.Service: Electrical repair

Highly recommended, very polite and helpful. I would send my family and friends there with no hesitation! Reasonable prices as well. I m a traveler that ran into brake issues on the highway nearby and had to get off immediately. We called everywhere and naturally everyone was busy and did not have time for any questions. The staff at Dwayne s Auto Repair however were polite and helpful from the beginning and managed to fit us in first thing in the morning so we can continue our trip. An employee Brenton arrived earlier to meet me there and truly made this ordeal a stress free process. Thanks again!!

Called around to many repair shops in the area, checking pricing. Dwayne's offered the best deal by long shot. Not only was the price of service the best around, they went out of their way to offer a great customer experience. Provided me with a ride home to wait while repairs were being done and offered to come and pick me up if needed. I can't recommend this family owned establishment enough! Great all around! Will definitely be my "go too" auto repair shop for any service needed in the future.

My brother in law had his truck repaired here, I just gave him a ride to pick up his vehicle when it was done.However, the owner was so kind and inexpensive. He actually gave him the option of buying the parts for his truck at a parts store, and he just installed them for a set price of $100. It saved my brother in law about $300. Took my car here for a clutch replacement. There quoting for price and time is terrible. Do not quote someone that it will only take you two days and it end up taking a week. As well as I was charged an additional $179 on top of what I was quoted, that is substantially inaccurate as far as quoting goes. No heads up either as far as the increase in price, as you did have it for a week. You could have called and informed me. I get my car back and the clutch absolutely feels janky and is unbearable to drive. I should not receive my car back from a mechanic and it feel as if it s going to break.Then I get the told something along the lines of, Oh it s a new clutch, it needs to break in. I give the benefit of the doubt and say okay and put some miles on it. A few hundred miles later the clutch is still biting super hard.Now to get onto a real issue. I had noticed shortly after a leak coming from the repair spot. You replaced the clutch and CV axle but didn t think to replace the seal that seals the connection between those two parts? (which the seal is obviously shot)Almost seems as if you wanted me to bring the car back, because when I asked if you could look the leak due to your malpractice out of some sort of honor, I get charged for that and told by the tech. We ll take the cost of putting it up on the lift today out of the cost to fix the seal. You gotta be kidding me if you think I am taking my car back to that shop.STAY AWAY FROM DWAYNES AUTO REPAIR!!!Service: Engine repair

My name is Shane George and I own Sams Sealcoating. I ve been looking for a place like this to fix my work vehicles. I have a line of vans that they repair every time it s needed. This place is the Best Pl., I ve ever had work done! I am 52 years old and been around the block a couple of times LOL. I know good work and I know honesty and these people are very honest they do what they say and their prices are very fair! I would recommend them to anyone thank you guys for everything. And also the lady working up at the counter is also great LOL she s very nice and very knowledgeable. Services: Transmission, Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

I thought my engine died, but Dwayne s Auto Repair found a cracked thermostat housing and torn hose. He was able to repair it over the holiday weekend and I was on the road quickly to be by my dying father s bedside. I can t thank them enough.

Locked my keys in my car at my Drs appt and was totaly stuck, called Dwayne's Auto and they had my vehicle unlocked and ready to go in 15 minutes!! They are SUPER friendly and very knowledgable about what they are doing!!!!! Definetly use Dwaynes Auto for all your car care needs!!!!!!

Grate, it's a nice well kept facility and the best service I've ever had. His quick to answer if you have a problem and if something happens often you've had your vehicle serviced he will get you back in immediately.
