I recently purchased a 2017 Toyota rav 4 and have had an amazing experience with the dealership part. The service department on the other hand, I did not have a good experience with. First, when I purchased the vehicle, inspection apparently went well but when I went to turn the back windshield wiper on, it did not work, it had the wrong blade on it which was replaced the day I bought the car. The USB charging port was also not working in which had to be replaced as well and I had to come in for that. Well today I came in for my first oil change. I waited over an hour, Brendan Mahns came out and told me after the oil was changed that the oil house filter was broken before they started the oil change and needed to be replaced, stating my car wasn't drivable. He also stated the filter was broken as well. Well I refused to pay for the replacement because I wasn't told anything about it beforehand and told them not to replace it because I was not informed that it needed to be done until after the oil was changed. I asked him to have the original filter put back on and they said they could try but it would need to be replaced as soon as possible. I tried speaking to Kris the manager about it and all he said was that he would ask Brendan if my car was under warranty and when I complained about how long it took, he said that it normally takes 2 hours. It's not under factory, but it is a certified vehicle, so I at least thought something should have been covered. When i also asked Brendan on why I wasn't contacted about it beforehand, he stated that other places would have told me the same thing that it needed to be replaced and they didnt realize it was broken until after they took it off but he told me the first time he came out that it was broken before they even looked at it. Well I had my friend who is a service tech check the car because I have had a busted oil filter before in my old car and I noticed this car didn't have any oil spills or tracks or anything and I know I didn't hit anything because I've only had it for about 2 months and I would know if I hit something as I've been very careful. Well he checked the original filter, the original housing and everything was completely fine. He even said that he had a little trouble getting it off because it was tight. I noticed that on the invoice of the oil change, they charged me for 1 replaceable element, 5 b4 gtmp 0w20 bk sn wty, and a gasket. I'm not sure what that it is but it sounds like they charged me for something even if they didn't replace it. With that being said, I spent $78 on a service for oil change, tire rotation, inspection on wipers and safety inspection when I only asked for the tires and oil. I did end up buying parts for the oil housing filter that were not used because the original was fine and I have pictures and video to prove it. I feel that the service people tried to rip me off and lie to get more money and I'm not comfortable with that. I hope this is able to get resolved because like I explained, I had no trouble with the dealership, they were amazing, it's the service part. I have attached pictures of the ORIGINAL parts that they stated needed replaced.

Came in for an oil change and tire rotation. My appointment was at 10. I was told it would be an hour to an hour and a half for the service. So I decided to wait for my vehicle. After 2 hours I decided to check on the status of my vehicle. I was told they were just finishing up and it wouldn t be long my vehicle wasn t finished for another hour and fifteen minutes! Three hours and fifteen minutes for an oil change/tire rotation and thats with an appointment.I should ve known it was gonna be a problem when it took 3 calls/3 days of calling to finally speak to a service person to schedule an appointment for me. Very disappointed with this service and will be looking for a new place to have my Toyota serviced. Sad too because I purchased it brand new from this dealer.I definitely would not recommend this dealer for any car needs.

Had to have my truck towed to the service center for a flat tire repair. I didn't have an appointment and they were very busy however Darlene helped me as soon as she could and was very polite and welcoming. It was a stressful morning made better by good customer service.

Booked an appointment online on 21 March for 30 March at 1200. I came to the appointment only to be told there was an error on the system so they cancelled all afternoon appointments. No apologies or courtesy call/text given. Will not visit here again.

I should have read the reviews before entering this service center in Glen Burnie. I am so glad that I left even before my car was taken in and registered. I left my scheduled appointment when one of the employees at 9am in the morning shouted for me to pull up all the way to the line in the service garage as if I had intentionally sat in my spot without moving to irritate him. Really did not want to deal with rude employees. Another employee approached to begin registration while I explained that I felt uneasy about the initial interaction. This second employee said that I didn't need to take it out on him. I was talking in a normal voice and explaining the situation. I said geez this is not the right place for me. I see with previous reviews and wait times, I am just glad I turned away instead of continuing to receive service. Customer service is VERY POOR!

Service center used to be good, now an oil change takes 3 hours. The people here aren't the friendliest, and act as if your time isn't important. I go here because cat was purchased here...but I'll be finding another place to get car servicedServices: General repairs & maintenance, Oil changeServices: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

One of the best Toyota dealerships, or even dealerships, I've ever been to. They are courteous, honorable (a legitimate positive in this day and age), and reliable. I moved my maintenance to here because of this.

Very disappointed. They are great until you need something other than regularly scheduled service. They claimed my issue wasn't covered under the warranty and then charged me $495 for one hour of service. I left feeling completely scammed. In addition, I have never had a service person completely ignore me for at least 5 minutes as I stood there waiting. Clearly he just chose to not deal with me by ignoring me. The person who brought my car out was also incredibly rude. I have been using dealerships for years - I have never been treated this way. Do NOT recommend this service department.Service: Electrical

Purchased Corolla Cross LE (Sept. 26, 2022), my second Toyota. A big thanks goes o Heath DeFranks for making my buying experience a 10! His taking the time by keeping me informed, his straightforward communications and customer service was amazing especially in this new car buying environment with mark-ups, add-ons and must have warranties (Brown's doesn't do this). He is a true salesman. Everything from choosing which model fit my needs, straight through to financing was painless - done in 2 hours! Again, thank you.

I had a 9:30 appointment for service and decided to wait. They told me they'd be in contact with me when everything was done. The car is fairly new so I didn't anticipate it taking very long. No one contacted me after almost 6 hours. I was waiting in the lobby the whole time. No one responded to my text response. I finally got tired of waiting and they said my car was ready. When I asked them how long it was ready they refused to tell me saying things like "there's no way for me to know that". I asked about the time on the sheet saying it was ready at 10:35am (it was almost 3:30 at this point) and they said that's just when they filed the paperwork not when it was ready? No one apologized to me for making me wait 5 extra hours and never letting me know my car was ready. Mistakes happen. Just apologize and be truthful instead of trying to hide and make me feel like I was in the wrong.

Went to this service in January because my Camry was making a loud noise when I reversed. They told me I needed new breaks, rotors, and tires. Paid for all of that. It's now June and the noise is still there. Went back on Friday and was told it's "just dust build up." They "cleaned it" and said it's fine. The noise is still there. So basically paying for all those things was to what end?

Purchased my second vehicle from Browns Toyota in July 2023. Straight forward pricing, no market adjustment fees, no extra charge for not having a trade in. They were transparent and easy to communicate with. Would like to say thank you to Ryan Mikelonis and Miguel Guzman for their excellent customer service during this buying process. I will continue to patronize Browns Toyota and refer family and friends who value a transparent car buying experience.

I have been taking my vehicles to this dealership for years...and had been extremely satisfied until recently. Unfortunately, service and quality of work has taken a dramatic downturn since Safford purchased this location. Extremely long waits and lack of communication had become the norm now...but this last visit was the last straw.During my last routine maintenance visit on my Rav4 Prime that I had purchased from Brown's back in 2021, everything seemed to be normal...but when they said they were done and would bring the vehicle out front of the dealership, it took almost 20 minutes for them to bring the vehicle up. I had to walk back inside twice to see what the hold-up was. After I returned home, I seem to have seen why it was taking so long: there was now a series of large scratches above the wheelwell that were not there previously. I can't be sure, but I suspect that they realized the damage they had caused...and were trying to decide what (if anything) to do about it. Ultimately, though, I was not informed of this damage, and just happened to realize it upon my return home.I immediately returned to the dealership...and they said they would repair it the next week once their best buffer-guy returned. They told me to call them the next week. I did...twice, and they didn't return my calls. I returned in person since I apparently wasn't a high priority, and the service advisor acted quite annoyed that I had returned to have them repair the damage they caused. The advisor told me to return the following day. I did...and the advisor wasn't there, so I had to go to the manager to get the repair conducted. He was similarly annoyed at my presence.Their buffer guy attempted to fix it, but there is still quite visible scratches remaining. So, after damaging my vehicle, not telling me about it, ignoring my phonecalls, and being annoyed that I continued to press the issue, they failed to fix the damage. They offered no compensation for my inconvenience or the remaining damage. Unacceptable.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Has been the third time it happened to us, they charge for services they don t perform.Every time we took the truck the oil was black and smelling burned but this third time we noticed wast oil empty, so we called them right away and they made us to take it but wanted us to pay again and saying that wasn t them fault because probably an animal gets in and somehow made the oil disappear, even that we don t have dripping proof on our driveway but they said that must be something alike. The truth is that they just want our money without any labor done, what s wrong with this world, everything and everywhere is getting full of none sense people that won t accept any responsibility but your money, please don t let them steal your money, I will just never go back there again for any service.Services: Wheel alignment, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Whenever I come here for simple service, e.g. oil change, tire rotation, it's always an almost all day event. They give me a time frame of 2 hours, which always turns into 4-5 hours. This will be my last time coming here for service.Services: Tires, Oil changeServices: Tires, Oil change

I bought my car from Brown s, brought it for routine services, and have never had a problem with them in the past. I had QUITE the opposite experience this past weekend. I dropped my car off at 2, and was told that they close at 4. They said that I would need to pick my car up by then, and that they would call me when it was done. They called me to pick my car up at 3:40, and I immediately hurried up to get there. I got there at 3:50, and I am unsure if the girl working at the cashier desk was frustrated that she was dealing with a line of customers up to closing time or what, but I was met with the BIGGEST attitude. I am a very understanding person, and I know working customer service is HARD. I know NO one wants to work after close, especially in a Saturday. I also don t believe in the customer is always right motto- if a customer has an attitude, you should be able to stick up for yourself. But, when I do nothing to warrant an attitude, there s a problem. At first, I was in such shock at the way she was talking to me I laughed, and thought that it had to be a joke. I even tried to reason and think maybe I was mishearing her tone, but nope. At the end of checking out, she mumbled under her mask the process of getting my car/keys. I couldn t hear her, and asked her to repeat herself. She rolled her eyes, and snapped back with an attitude go outside and they ll have your keys and car! I finally had enough and snapped back JEEZ , and walked away to find a manager.I have never had to complain to a manager in my life.I think Karen s are the worst, and should be banned from establishments. But, I honestly have never been talked to like that in my life. When I explained to him what happened, he replied the young one? Iris (I think that s her name)? Oh yeah, we ve had issues with her attitude in the past That s unacceptable. I get we are in a pandemic, and finding employees is tough, but she shouldn t be working customer service if she is going to talk to people like that for absolutely no reason. Honestly, I love Brown s, but if I have to deal with rude customer service employees again- I m not coming back, and not recommending them to anyone.

Their service department doesn't want to cover warranty repairs on my new vehicle still under warranty. They claim leather pealing isn't covered under the new vehicle warranty, which it is. They also claim the heat that's blowing out only cold air is normal, on my new vehicle. I recommend avoiding this dealer.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Extremely inconsiderate of customers time, time and again. Service department is short with you and will continually lie about when service will be completed. I once was stuck waiting for 4 hours for an oil change (after being old "just a little bit longer" countless times). To avoid that, today I dropped off my car off at 7am. I was called at 9:43 and told my car was ready for pick up. I left work immediately and have been sitting in the lobby 60 minutes later waiting on my supposedly completed car to be pulled up so that I can check out. Why lie? I could have come later. Again, complete lack of consideration for anyone's time. Unfortunately there are no other Toyota service centers in the near vacinity.

Great service department as far as trying to get them on the phone to speak with them is a different thing. Cashier was great and they get your car out to you quickly very nice people.

I really enjoyed bringing my car here years ago. The staff was very attentive, they would call with service reminders. In cases where I forgot my coupon, a customer may have left an extra or the service manager may have had one I could use. I wasn't comfortable with the analysis of the problem this time and took my vehicle to JBA and got my car repaired for less.

Worst dealership service ever. We ve been Toyota owners since 2015 so this is the first complaint we ve had as Toyota care is normally pretty great.I called to schedule an appointment that they said would only last an hour (5k checkup). When we arrived they said an hour and a half. After an hour and a half they are now saying another 1/2 hour who knows how long I will actually be here. In addition, I went into the service area (with 5 people sitting at computers and only one customer being helped). 3 workers ignored me, the 4th (Chris) gave me an attitude saying they were helping the next person in line (there was no one in line) and I simply stated I just wanted to know the status of my car.I purchased my sienna in Bowie and made the mistake of coming to Glen Burnie for my first service clearly I ll be headed back to Bowie from now on. If you re too busy, don t accept so many appointments if you can deliver on the time you quoted. If you have the option do not come here for service.I will say our service person apologized for the wait and for the rudeness of the other person. So at least there s that.Service: General repairs & maintenance
