The attendants are very reluctant to take your car, exaggerating potential wait time. Then when it is done, they call you but it can take another half hour just to pay and get the car back! Waiting line at the cashier is so long!

I ordered a battery and went to this Germantown, MD Walmart to have it installed. To my surprise, the mechanics at this location have a lack of skills in changing batteries. I had to take my Chevrolet Malibu 2019 all the way to the Walmart in Landover, MD. A mechanic named Albert at the Landover location got the job done immediately.

Rip-off alert! I haven't had an oil change nor tire service at Walmart in a few years, and after today I won't be back. Please read your receipt when you leave this place. Mine said I declined all sorts of services, which I didn't. Despite the website saying standard fluid checks and air filter change are part of the package, the shop manager Mr. Ali said they no longer offer it. Very strange.He said the standard oil change service was not available so I had to pay for a higher level one. Even at the higher price point, his claim is that it did not come with standard fluid and other functional checks that I could get for the same price at my neighborhood auto shop (White Flint Auto). Second, I only needed two tires replaced. When I look at the quality for what I paid, my other two tires purchased from a different shop of the same price were MUCH better quality. In addition, Walmart charges a standard lifetime rotation and balance fee per tire that ends up making the tires more expensive. Basically you pay more for less quality tires. For example, my tire cost $65 for one and there was an automatic charge of $14 per tire for lifetime balance and rotation, bringing the total cost to $79. Meanwhile, my other two tires cost $75 each and were much better quality than what I got today. Also, the other tire shop balanced and rotated my tire and no extra. Walmart didn't even rotate and balance my tires today because they said I only bought two tires - yet, they still charged me the lifetime rotation and balance fee. The value of using the oil change and tire service is no longer there. I'll stick with my neighborhood tire service company and mechanic to get better service, value for money and better quality parts.Services: Tires, Oil change

VERY slow service. The employees have no incentive to work quickly, so they take forever. I don't blame them working at a snail's pace. They have no incentive to work quickly. Not likely the folks in charge will realize that if they incentivized quick service, the company would make more money. I can imagine this place is very similar to what it must have been like to have one's oil changed back in the USSR.

I have always had a very pleasant experience with these guys - Mr Ali who manages the customers and schedules services is great. He will inspect the vehicle before accepting it for service and will alert you in case he sees any issues which cannot be handled by the shop thereby setting the right expectations. Honest and a respectful individual.Their team is also quite fast and the text alerts kept me informed on the progress. Will surely be using them for all my oil changes.Services: Tires, Oil change

It took a week to order my tires. You cannot pay cash at the walmart tire center because they will not order the tires for you. I attempted to call them numerous times to inquire about specific tires and there was either no answer or they told me to look online. If I knew what I wanted I wouldn't be trying to call for recommendations. I ended up calling friends for their opinion so customer service is subpar. Then it was my responsibility to call and make sure my tires were in which was also a pain to do. A simple phone call from customer service would have been nice. I also had to make my own appointment online. They wont do that for you either. All in all I spent about 650.00 for 4 tires including putting them on my vehicle. Not the best price but average for my area. Installation was fast (about an hour). Bottom line is you need a credit card/debit card and a whole lot of guesswork and patience if you've never bought tires before.

This Auto Care Center is notorious for not taking on tire jobs, and not even genuinely checking to see if tires are in stock. They don t want a longer line of jobs. Even other Walmarts attest to this.Two stars for the purpose of grabbing your attention to read this review.

The short Hispanic lady, the heavy set dark-haired lady and Andre are all amazing and it was so nice working with them! They continue to impress me and I will be coming back for life for my tire rotations and for new tires.You guys so much for being awesome!

Mechanic told me the battery he had just sold me didn't fit, when in fact all he had to do was snap the adaptor off the top and snap it on to the bottom. Awful waste of time. Combined with long waits and staff that don't know how to do a battery installation or a return, I will never go to a Walmart Auto center ever again and would never recommend them to anyone.

The worst worst ever Auto Center; they have no any empathy or concern; I towed my car as one tire of my vehicle was bursted and wanted to replace all 4 tires; first they said, I need to come tomorrow as they are fully booked for the day, so I requested, they can replace tires next day and I can pay for the tires but they said, they can t make an appointment for next day, I need to come next morning at 7am; I requested them, please don t ruin my weekend and why do they want me to come next morning at 7am & please place my order today. I also requested them, if they can check, if tires of my vehicles available with them and she checked system and confirmed that, they have tires available. I visited them next morning at 7am and another lady told me, they have only 2 tires available instead 4 tires. On my request, she ordered 4 tires of another company and said, she also entered note in system, when the tires will arrive tomorrow then they will replace the tires and will inform me once my vehicle is ready for pickup; I told that lady, you guys should have done same thing yesterday instead wanted me to come this morning. Next morning, I received text,my tires delivered but keeping in mind their previous irresponsible conduct, I called in middle of the day and ask for status of vehicle and lady told me, though tires delivered but I don t have an appointment for replacing tires; I told her check your system, there is a note for replacing of tires but she insisted, I need to come next morning again, if I want to replace tires, my frustration was at peak and requested to speak with a manager but after few moments another guy came on phone and said, they can t replace tires on my Dodge Caravan as their system can t lift my car; I told him, tires of same vehicle were replaced in same store but they refused to replace tires and then towed my car to Pep Boys (another long story). Pep Boys replaced tires without visiting their store and discussed everything on phone but Walmart folks are living on other planet and their business model really sucks.Service: Tires

My appointment was on 2/14/2023 at 11:00am to replace 4 tires. At 7:26am the same day, I received an email telling me that my ordered wasn't picked up and appointment had been canceled. I took the whole day off just for this appointment. Waste of my time. Terrible service of Walmart. Don't trust them.Service: TiresService: Tires

These guys work fast, definitely recommend coming here as early as you can to avoid dealing with scheduling and such. First come first serve at 7am. The manager, crew in the shop, and support staff behind the desk for the automotive work hard all day. They are flexible and willing to take your car in even on a busy day with one bay open. Everyone's kind and accommodating. Thank you for helping me get my car back the same day!

I arrived at about 6:50 am on a Friday morning, at the end of a terrible week, at almost 34 weeks pregnant. The Auto Center hadn't even opened yet (no appointments are taken on weekdays). There were only 6 people ahead of me in line. All I needed was one tire changed, because I ran over a nail in the road. IT TOOK THEM 5 HOURS TO CHANGE MY ONE TIRE. I checked in with them after about 2 hours to ask for a status update, because I hadn't heard anything. I was told that there were still 2 people ahead of me. I was very confused, because at least 1 of the 6 people in front of me in line that morning was not even there for a tire change. After asking for a status update, I still had to wait THREE MORE HOURS. This means that they averaged one car per hour for tire changes, and they had two guys working tires that day (towards the end of this long morning, I was excited to see them bring my car in to the shop, but then it just sat there for 15-20 minutes before anyone even worked on it.)To make matters worse, I was told upon payment that I did not have road hazard protection on my tire, when I very much did. I was told that I had it on the three other tires. Why would I buy four tires and only pay to protect three of them? They also claimed that they couldn't see proof of the purchased road hazard protection in their system. Now, the protection was purchased at a different Walmart in a different state, but it's 2019!! Why is there not a universal system? I tried to show them the receipt, but the one that specifically laid out the road hazard purchase was missing. Upon going home and talking with my husband, we realized that since we had all the other purchase documentation from the out of state Walmart Auto Center, the receipt *may* have been accidentally kept by the Germantown Walmart Auto Center (we had another tire changed a few months ago and we used the receipt to prove the road hazard protection).I would give 0 stars, but the staff behind the counter were actually very nice. They told me to contact the other Walmart to get the receipt emailed to them and they would reimburse me for whatever extra I was charged. However, I called the other Walmart and there is nothing they can do.

Called right when they opened this morning to see if I could get an oil change ASAP and was told yes. When I got there I was surprised because most people that work at Walmart always seem bothered lol. EVERYONE is the auto department spoke to me asking for my morning was and offered to play something on the tv. They need more than the 2 stars that are showing on here because they were absolutely a pleasure to be around when I was not having a good start to my morning they made it better! Thank you all!

It's just okay! Had to get some bait and a fishing license. More organized on the shelves than I've seen with other Walmarts. They had a really cool lego selection. Expensive but really cool. They also had a nice variety of fishing rodes and reels.

I brought brand new tires at Walmart and I came in 8/9/2018 around 9:30am for my passenger tire air was leaking. So I shopped around for a while and returned, however I came before some and they left before me . Anyway, the service manager tried to see what was going on about the tire and then the service manager stated I am going to get someone to look at your car around 10:30am. Then I was finally called around 11:35am about my car the whole time the service manager was talking to this Spanish customer for about 30 minutes, I am disabled and standing and sitting is an issue. I believed she could've checked me out as she talk to the customer as a line was beginning to form. I believe good customer service is checking the customer out in line not having a 30 minute conversation with one customer ignoring the other customers in line and holding up the line just for one customer. I had to say something because I found that unprofessional and rude, more and less poor customer service. I believe that John the store manager need to do some operational improvement in auto department. Need to have atleast 4 cash registers and 4 cashiers ( no one take a break at the same time), hire more mechanics, have a monitor that shows a number when a customer car is done they could see the number by the monitor on the wall ( not disrupting the cashier) and the three lanes have two mechanics working on cars- 1st lane for oil changes, etc., the other two lane lane tires. Open at 7:00 am 3 mechanics should be working, by 9:00 am 6 mechanics working and then 2 mechanics come in by 11:00 am ( to start breaking the early mechanics) and rotate. Management must demonstrate more care about their customers to ensure efficiency organized and productivity. I am sure if there an effective operational system it would increase Walmart auto department financially.

i have got tires from here and often get the oil service. the price is great but that is about it.it feels like walmart doesn't want this in their portfolio. the customer service needs a lot of work. when ever i have come here it feels like they do not want the business. it does not feel like they care which service i am here for. it feels like they just want to get me out the door. there is always hours of wait time and if you end up coming for a tire rotation too, then forget about it. it is going to take the whole day. i keep calling to check if tje car is ready. i have called three times now. the first time i was on hold for 10 mins the next two times the phone keeps ringing and nobody picks up.its really difficult to get a status from the team at the auto center.

I usually visit this location occasionally for basic oil changes and to purchase tires when needed. I arrived at this location on 02/07/2019 at 8am for a basic oil change. When I arrived i was told it would be a 2 1/2 hour wait for a oil change and I decided to leave. Everytime I come to this location they are either short staffed or they have people taking their time to perform basic tasks. I m not asking this location to expedite their services at the risk of safety but I just think this will be my last time dealing with Walmart auto. I did purchase tires from this location last year but even that was a headache when I needed to utilize the road hazard warranty. I think everyone at this location get overwhelmed and flustered easily and then it leads to poor attitudes and customer service. I don t recommend anyone coming to this location unless you are the first one in the door right when they open. I enjoy Walmart but I think I m done dealing with the auto care side of the establishment it s just to many issues that occur at this location. I have visited other Walmart care centers in Frederick and Hanover md and I believe they have better service and representatives. Be careful entering this location you may be subjected to a host of problems enter at your own risk!

SAD. This Walmart is terrible. Made 7am appt for new tires. I was there a little early 6:55. Crew did not show until 7:30. And had to do car from previous day that they didn t get to first. If you have all day to wait, enjoy. Want great service, go somewhere else.

-had 4 tires shipped to store in a few days-made appt for 7am that Sat and seen within 10min-was told tire replacement would take 2hrs-got a call 2hrs later that car was done-picked up car and paid no problemsFast, simple, cheap, good quality tires/work. Staff was nice and helpful.

After reading the reviews, I was a little nervous about coming here. To my surprise it was the total opposite. The service was great. The staff were respectful. I'm pretty sure Walmart doesn't reward their staff for a good job well done but Brandon deserves to receive acknowledgment.I was here 8:00am on 10/10/2017

So here's the deal. I went there at 8 am (1 hour after they opened) on a monday morning to have my tires, which I already picked out and reserved on a previous day, to be installed only to wait over 30 mins in line and for them to tell me they can't get to my car until noon. The prices are cheap, the warranties are great, I always double check their work after I get my car back and I've yet to find any faults, but the inconvenience is a bit frustrating. I just wish they hire more mechanics or expand.

I shouldn't write a review but their phone number isn't listed correctly and if they transfer it from the 6700 lines they don't pick up. I called 3 times. This would be ok, except that it's a sign things are not working right. Balancing tires is a complex technical skill involving complex machines that, if done poorly, will damage the front end parts. It's not worth the savings or risk to your car if they can't answer the phone.

I went there two days in a row to have 1 tire looked at for a slow leak. I arrived at 6pm, they close at 7pm. I was told that they stop taking people at 5pm. Both days there was onlyb1 car in the bay, and no cars waiting. They used be very good, and now they are horrible, and store management does not care; I know this because I went to the manager on duty. Thank you for nothing.

It was very hard to get questions answered and they didnt verify prices with me before they did the work. It took almost 3 hours to get my battery changed and they didn't give me an estimate of time before hand. I had my 1 year old with me. The woman working the service desk acted like she really did not want to do her job and I wasn't called to choose my product. I don't know. I feel uneasy over the whole thing, and would NOT recommend to use this center.

I went this store to get a wheel balance and rotation. I was told there was a 4 hrs waiting and decided to leave the car there and took uber home. after 3 hours I received a call from a lady and told me my wheel locks needs to be replaced. I said ok go ahead and replace it. She said I have to take the car somewhere and get it done. I asked to speak to the manager since they replaced my tires there a few months ago. She took my number and told me the manager will give me a call. While I was waiting for the manager to call, 28 minutes in to, I received a call from the same store, it was not the manager. I was told my car was ready to go. I went to pick it up this afternoon, the same lady I spoke to yesterday handed me the key and told me again the same thing, unless I replaced the wheel lock, they couldn't do anything. I was mad. I asked for the manager, she told me she is not available. So sad. I had a lifetime rotation/balance on the tires I bought from them, they refused to do so.

Worst service if it comes to go to a store for the return of a productWhich you purchase online from them. When you go there for return most of the time their system I found was not working because of that I had to go to the store again with 4 tires of my van and worst part is this nobody is willing to help you with this kind of oversized and heavy product to load or unload and then to bring inside the store for return.
