I recently had my car worked on at this shop for a simple but crucial part replacement. Initially, they were cooperative and the service was relatively fast. However, I noticed issues with the steering after I got the car back. I brought the car back in and raised concerns about the steering, and they assured me they'd reinspect everything. The next day, they claimed to have thoroughly examined and tightened all relevant parts in the front end. However, the steering still felt off, and when I sought a second opinion at a different shop they confirmed that the part was installed correctly. However, the securing bolt for that part had NOT been tightened at all. This negligence and dishonesty are unacceptable and could have resulted in severe consequences. AVOID this shop at all costs.

My daughter is a student at Frostburg University, one of her instructors recommended Red Ridge when she needed help with a belt noise. They were amazing, completely honest and fair-priced. She's had to take her car there a few times and each time they explain what is needed. I recommend them to anyone in the area, especially students.

I had a breakdown on the interstate at night and they were fantastic! They fixed my car right away and worked with me to get a good pickup time even though I was coming in from out of state. A pleasure to work with!

I have recently moved to Frostburg and am still getting acquainted with the local businesses. Took a chance on Red Ridge after a personal referral and after reading the other positive reviews. Red Ridge employees were professional and courteous right from the start. They were honest about the brake work that was needed (saving me money), and they completed the work in an efficient and timely manner. I am highly impressed with this initial interaction and will definitely plan to take my vehicles there in the future.UPDATE from August 2019:Have downgraded the business from five stars to three stars. I brought the vehicle in for front brake work and a complete safety check prior to going on an extended road trip. This cost several hundred dollars but was expected. My vehicle, which has never had any type of radiator leak in 90,000 miles, magically developed a leaking radiator overnight after it was serviced at the business. I find this to be statistically quite unusual, to have an issue like this that is not related to other work just completed. Since I was about to depart on the trip, I had to spend an additional 500 + dollars for them to fix it. My position is that the business caused the leak somehow, maybe from the poking and prodding of the safety check. I still recommend the business, but with some hesitation now.

I've had quite a variety of car issues recently, and Red Ridge has always been my go-too. They've fixed everything at a very fair price and excellent quality, and I've rarely had to wait more than a full day to get my car. Very friendly and professional people work there, and as inconvenient as car repairs are, Red Ridge makes it easied.

Probably not even going to try them again. I enjoyed the work they did and they did it well till the last time I went they cut a battery terminal wire with out asking and stole my factory terminal clamps ( I had them changed 2 months ago). I went to have them fix it to see if they will own up to it and all he could say is I would pass it for a state inspection ( the company it a Maryland state inspector for many years )

Another happy customer.Came in for a suspected brake job, turns out I had a hub bearing and bushing failing and rust on the front brakes. Red Ridge was able to diagnose , find me the best/right parts, and get me back on my way as quick and for the best price as possible. Turns out the quoted price was LESS than what I paid. RR had passed on charging me for both pairs of parts when only one side was needed. I appreciate their knowledge and commitment to getting the job done right the first time.

Maryland is a tough place to license an out of state car. I failed my first inspection at another dealer. Simone recommended Red Ridge and the car didn't even need the repairs the other place said I needed fixing. Everyone was polite, and service was fast and fair.

Please read.Pro: -Friendly customer service.Cons: -I paid for the car to be lubed. Nothing was lubed. Absolutely unacceptable.-They made a rookie mistake regarding the breaks. Read below.I went to them because my car was squeaking when driven. They did a test drive and decided it was the breaks. They replaced the break pads but not the rotors. I also paid to get the car lubed. This "service" did not fix the squeaking. I brought my car to another mechanic. He explained to me that if either the rotor or break pads are replaced, the other needs to be replaced as well and showed me exactly what was done. He also checked to see if anything was lubed only to find nothing was lubed at all. I don't know a lot about cars so it was easy for them to take advantage of me. You saved a few bucks but lost a customer.I will never return.

I have taken my cars three times at this stage and each time I have been dealt with in a professional manor. The staff is courtesy and there prices are fair. The work is well done and professional. I have not had to take my cars back because the issue I dropped it off for was not fixed correctly. They fix it right the first time. I would recommend them to anyone.

They did a great job diagnosing the problem and replacing the Clutch Assembly on my 17 YO Toyota Echo with 230K miles on the odometer. The cost of the repair was very reasonable and they gave me a AAA club discount on top of that. Thank You Guys for keeping my beloved old friend still going.

Best shop around! Honest knowledgeable techs that do the job right the first time at a very fair price. I was a auto tech for more than 14 years and physically can't do it anymore. I have had multiple bad experiences at other shops and lucked into finding Red Ridge. They are the best!!

I can't say enough about these guys! I am a single mom with 4 kids and work as a nurse! My car is very important and they really understand that! I also tend to get very upset if something is wrong with my car! Every single time, whether it is a simple oil change or a sizable repair, I can count on Red Ridge for everything. They are very honest and take the time to answer my questions and explain everything. I was once driving out of town, 2 hours away going to see family and my check engine light came on. On a turnpike, alone with 4 kids, I freaked. I pulled over and called my guys at Red Ridge, they asked me several questions and calmed my fears and said I was ok to drive it. When I got to my family about 2 more hours away, I took it in. Of course, I had to call Red Ridge and talk to them about what this shop was saying was wrong and confirm with them. What mevhanic takes the time or has the patience to do that! They are amazing, fairly priced, timely with their work and always go the extra mile! Highly recommend!

BrakesI have an 11-year old car for local driving. It had been 4 years since the last front brake replacement (pads and rotors). Toward the beginning of summer, I noticed a subtle squealing sound coming from the front usually after about 10-15 minutes drive time. The sound began to become more prevalent as the summer wore on. I suspected the brakes, but gave it time. When I finally took in the car last week, Red Ridge confirmed significant rust build up on the rotors. The explanation of the problem was very good and I appreciated the honest discussion about my repair options. Since the car is not my primary vehicle and gets low miles per use, I decided on a full brake repair. I am happy with the service as usual.

The guys were very pleasant to talk with both over the phone and in person. Customer service was great, even when I changed my mind and asked them to do something with my car that I originally said I didn't want done today. New to the area and had called around to several places, most of which seemed to act like they would be doing me a favor by even scheduling me. Also, best price quote I received for state inspection.

I had to have my car towed from Hancock MD. I was on my way to Frostburg from Easton PA. Triple A arranged the tow. I inadvertently damaged the air dam. This garage fixed it well enough to drive my car back to Easton PA. I'm very thankful for the work they did.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Absolutely refused to install anything that wasn't purchased from them. I am new to the area and have been looking for a repair shop I trust for our vehicles and after my experience today it's clear I will have to keep looking.

I WILL NEVER TAKE MY VEHICLE BACK TO RED RIDGE AUTO REPAIR! THEY CHARGED ME $3,577.08 WITHIN THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS!!!! MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON AFTER THEY DIAGNOSED AND SUPPOSEDLLY REPLACED THE "RIGHT" PART MAF SENSOR WHICH THE PART ALONE COST MY $208!!!! I HAD A OVERHEATING PROBLEM WHEN I FIRST CAME IN AND AFTER IT WAS ALL SAID IN DONE I SPENT $3,000 ON A WATER PUMP R&R, THERMOSTAT HOUSING REPAIR, AND THEN THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS WARPED AND HAD TO PAY FOR MACHINE SHOP REPAIRS ON THAT! THEN TO TOP THAT ALL OFF I WAS DRIVING MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND THE FRONT ENGINE MOUNT BOLTS BROKE AND FELL OUT BOUNCING UNDER MY CAR THAT THEY WOULD HAVE REMOVED TO R&R THE WATER PUMP PLUS TO FIX THE CYLINDER HEAD AS WELL. SO MY ENGINE WAS JUST LAYING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND COULD HAVE KILLED ME AND MY CHILDREN! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE IF YOU WANT TO LIVE AND/OR SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! I HAVE FILED A CLAIM W/ THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AS WELL. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!
