Just moved to MD and needed inspection and oil change for two vehicles. Stumbled upon this place and gave it a try & they did not disappoint. Very punctual, knowledgeable, & affordable. Definitely found our go to mechanic for all of our car needs

Getting my car repaired or serviced is truly my least favorite thing to do. I almost always feel overwhelmed by my lack of understanding and suspicious that I am being conned and/or ripped off. That REALLY changed for me when I went to Spectra based on a friend's recommendation. Spectra provides you with a detailed overview of their findings, completed with pictures and links, and allows you time to THINK prior to committing to the repairs. They met or exceeded their promised delivery times and they make drop off and pick up easy, fast, and even pleasant. This will be my "go to" place for everything my car needs going forward. Thank you!

Very flexible with appointment day and drop off times. Staff was very quick with assisting with repair and routine maintenance. Explained everything and didn't try to add extra work to the job. Would highly recommend and continue to do business here. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff!

After taking my vehicle here a few times, I have been impressed by this shop s attention to detail. Although I don t always take repair suggestions, I am happy to know nothing goes unnoticed here. I love that I can view a detailed online report before picking up too! My only complaint would be that there are cheaper shops around. But I trust these guys the most. I have had great experiences with Spectra and I trust them to take excellent care of my car. Their free local shuttle is very helpful and so is the detailed inspection report which includes videos explaining the various repairs needed. They are never pushy like the dealership. Just friendly and trustworthy service. Highly recommend!

Similar to others who used their inspection services, I found their practices questionable.Even the Md auto safety enforcement divsion representative shared, that when a re-inspection is required, the shop generally offers the follow-up at a discounted price. Not Spectra.I'm will to consider that maybe Spectra's shop inspector was having a bad day, thus the attitude, but I don't plan on returning to find out.Customers beware.

I've taken my company vehicles to spectra auto services since 2021 coming all the way from Virginia! Every time! And it's been a great experience working with Meagan and Chris! 100% recommended

I am so happy to have the problem with my car repaired. I can always depend on Spectra to get my old car back into shape. Thanks for the quality work that I can always depend on. The first snow we had I didn't take my car out for about a week. I worried a little that it may not start as easily as usual. When I got into the car it started immediately with no problem, just as it always has no matter the outdoors temperature.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Very happy with my first visit to Spectra. They ran a diagnostic test to determine why my check engine light was on and advised on what was needed to solve the issue. My car runs great now and the service was very good. Pleasant and efficient personnel. I was promptly notified of when parts arrived and I could schedule a second appointment for those minor license plate lights.I was given a heads up on needing rear brakes & rotors in the future, but no pressure to do it now.I am new to town and Spectra is conveniently located; I won t be looking for another repair shop if/when I need one.Service: Vehicle safety inspection

7/31/2023: Continue to receive great maintenance and repair service. Very happy with the work performed and their customer service is great. They serviced all three of my vehicles recently and continue to recommend.5/4/2023 Visit: Have taken multiple vehicles to Spectra for service and maintenance - never a bad visit and this visit was no exception. Outstanding customer service, clean explanation of the issues. In addition, they went over and above in completing all requested services by COB. Highly recommend.Update 9/29/2022: Return second vehicle for routine maintenance and multiple point inspection. Once again, received great service - highly recommend Spectra Auto Servies. From dropping off your vehicle until pick up Spectra keeps you informed and provides a detailed inspection report on vehicle. Thanks and see you next time.Update 8/10/2022: Returned for routine maintenance. Again, very pleased with both the mechanical service and customer service - all exceptional. Detailed report on condition of vehicle was very informative. Highly recommend Spectra and will be returning soon with my other vehicles.Update: Since my first visit, I have taken three vehicles to Spectra over the last several weeks for routine maintenance and repairs. My daughter's front bumper came off and ripped apart the hose for the washer fluid on a Friday morning. We were stuck, newly re-located to the area and the first place I thought to call was Spectra as my family has raved about their honest work as far back as I can remember. In a panic, I called and I spoke with Megan and she was incredibly welcoming and reassuring and told me to go ahead and have the car towed there and that they would get to it on Monday morning. They looked at the car on Monday and by Tuesday it was ready to be picked up and was good as new! Not only that, they barely charged anything! No way I could have paid what I paid anywhere else or had the work done as quickly as they got to it. Everyone was so kind and honest and helpful. HIGHLY recommend!

We hadn t put anything into our Infiniti, aside from oil changes, for several years, but cars need some TLC too and Spectra was just terrific. The car drives like new, which it hasn t for several years.Everything was detailed, explained, discussed and then fixed or replaced at a reasonable price. Shocking, right? I just looked on the internet for highly rated auto repair places in Frederick. Spectra was rated very well and now I know why. As always everyone at Spectra Auto takes a real interest in you and your car. They talk things through every step of the way and on top of everything else provide a shuttle service to and from their shop which is beyond helpful. We are relocating to the area and my husband wanted some things serviced on my SUV. He called a highly rated shop, provided them all the information but asked them to call me to schedule when I could take it in. They never called.Then my Infiniti QX56 started having a weird shaking steering wheel issue when it was just my kids and I. I stopped IN Hagerstown at the national mechanic shop we had used for years in Wi. We were happy with in the past but the guy at that location didnt seem to care AT ALL blew me off and rattled off a bunch of jargon and said he couldnt look at it...I just wanted to know if I was safe to drive! They were helpful.So I looked around for another shop and called Specra. Wow. Megan was soo nice and helpful! They were full but she offered for me to drop my car off and they could try to look at it between appointments. She was intelligent, involved and genuinely seemed to care. Unfortunately, we were able to move into our house in WV earlier than expected so ended up canceling so I didn't have to drive back to pick up the car..but if I don't find a wonderful mechanic in WV I will just drive back to Spectra. I hope they know what a exceptional job Megan is doing with clients! I received exceptional service from Spectra and would highly recommend them.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Made a same day appointment for a state inspection and they were great, even calling ahead to tell me if i could get there early or not (based on me mentioning i may arrive ahead of my appointment). Professional and trustworthy based on the interactions i watched for the hour i was in the waiting room. Very stringent with disinfecting high touch areas in your vehicle and their shop. The waiting room is very old school, no thrills, so if planning on bringing an easily bored kid beware. Will happily come here for all of my future services.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The staff here is amazing! Also, The technicians really give you a comprehensive overview of your vehicle and what you'll need urgently and what you can possibly do in the future! Spectra really helped me plan out some of the items I needed from my car to ensure I'm running safely at all times! Spectra is an incredible breath of fresh air if you are used to the traditional feeling of most Auto service places. For starters, they are happy to see you walk in the door. Willing to make an appointment and their ability to follow-up is astounding. They perform quality work and seem genuine about the safety and reliability of your vehicle. I can see why this shop has won Best of Frederick over and over again.

It's only been a week or so and I continue to have issues with my car pulling to the side (left side now), though I was informed that there wasn't anything left to be done aside from replacing another tire.The service I received was prompt, and I was given several options before any repairs were made. I felt much more respected than I have in other shops, and though I would have liked to speak with the mechanic who worked on my car, everyone I did talk with was very pleasant.In short, I'm not happy with where my car is at, but I am happy with the work that Spectra has done on it. I would recommend others to this business.

I cannot express how professional this business is. We have been customers for over a decade, and would struggle to go anywhere else. Went to spectra yesterday for a state inspection. I fully expected to fail for a few things and surprisingly passed with flying colors. They had me in and out within 2 hours and were very courteous and respectful. Definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a shop with good communication and friendliness.

Great local place! The staff are super friendly and understanding, and they have a "taxi" car to pick you up and drop you off if you don't have a ride. I'm a big fan of their online inspection summary and how responsive they are. They let us leave our van at their shop after the transmission blew out for about a week until we could get a charity to come get it, which I really appreciated. Their prices are very fair and they are straightforward with what work you do and don't need to have done.
