Made apt for 2:30p, got there at 2:15p they said regardless of my apt time it would be 2-4hr wait, I had a nail in my tire that needed to be plugged so I said I would wait. The guy looked at my tire and said they can t fix it that it wasn t on the flat part so I left because I knew they just didn t want to do it. I went somewhere else and it was fixed. I don t recommend going here and definitely don t recommend online apt cause they don t care about what time you make it for they treat you as a walk in.

I suspected a transmission issue. After dropping off the vehicle low oil level was found and full a diagnostic was done. Total $220.No other issue.After driving 70 miles the transmission failed completely and the vehicle had to be towed.Not a happy camper.I have trusted Pep Boys for over 20 years and always had a good experience.Unfortunately this time it was not diagnosed correctly.

Wish I could give a better rating. Especially since the service staff are friends. I've had 2 appointments to have my tires rotated and balanced. First visit, last Sunday, I was here 10 minutes before my appointment. Employee told me it would be about an hour wait. No problem there. An hour passed, my vehicle never moved from the original parking spot. I couldn't wait any longer, I had to leave. When I spoke with the manager on the phone, I was given an explanation (excuse) of why my vehicle was delayed. I made another appointment for today. Don't get me wrong I understand things happen. A vehicle may take longer than expected, short staffed, etc.... I specifically asked if to call or text me if there would be a delay or the shop was behind schedule. I was willing to move my appointment later today. Upon my arrival, Pepboys wasn't ready once again for my appointment. Never received a call or text.

David at Pep Boys in Frederick MD was fantastic! Personable, courteous and got me in and out in less than an hour. I would not hesitate to go back for service if I lived in the area.

I went in to have my brakes looked at. I have a Toyota Corolla Hybrid with 50k miles. I was told that I still had 80% of my brake pad life left, which is amazing. This is my first hybrid and I wasn't expecting that. Thank you PepBoys for the good service and honesty!

I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change, though, was slightly concerned about how long the service may take as they seemed busy. Sarah ensured that they got the job done as quick as possible. 45 minutes in and out. Not to mention great pricing. Thank you!!

Had communication issues on an MD state inspection report being sent to the MVA, which we found out at the MVA appt. Called to communicate this and the manager was incredibly helpful. Got us sorted, and helped us figure out another option to get tags and titles done. Even offered to put the new tags on for us. The girl at the shop (sorry I didn t catch the name) was incredibly helpful putting our tags on for us. Glad the manager mediated the situation and got us sorted out.

Dropped off a 2018 F-150 for Md state inspection. Thought this would be an easy process as the vehicle is in perfect condition and only 6 years old with new tires and brakes. I usually go to my trusted mechanic but he s out of town so I figured for $75 let s give it a shot. I was told to drop it off and it would be completed by noon the next day. I call at 1pm the following day as I haven t heard anything and the app doesn t seem to change everytime I check it. I called 3 seperate times to check on it and it s finally done at 6pm an hour before they close. Guy calls and tells me it failed due to the front shocks and rear passenger shocks are all leaking and continued to give me a quote for repair and asks me if I would like to proceed with these repairs for $1475. I recently sprayed wd-40 around some minimal rust in the surrounding area which got on the dust covers around these suspension components before taking it to pep boys in Frederick for inspection. Any credible mechanic would know this by looking considering they don t leak out of the top they would leak out from under the dust cover. I explained this to the guy on the phone and asked to speak with a manager. He tells me the manager is there but not working, only there to work on his personal vehicle in the shop. So I ask to speak with the mechanic who failed my vehicle and made this decision. Ofcourse the guy at the front desk tells me the mechanic s gone for the day. So I take my truck to another inspection shop and it passed with flying colors and they laughed about the suspension and said it looks and is operating perfectly. Long story short this place is offering a $75 inspection and ripping off people by failing on state inspection for quick easy repairs and charging a ridiculous amount for them. Do not recommend!! I called for a refund after the other shop/mechanic passed it and was told by the manager at pep boys to show up with a md state trooper to prove him wrong and then I would be offered a refund. What a joke

Customer service was excellent checked in and kept in touch on the process and was able to get some repairs that were neededTechnician did a great job working on the vehicle and in a timely manner I was very pleased with my second visit to the Frederick location , will be returning for more services in the future

I got a flat tire in my tesla, I called over 40 tire shops and no one even helped me out... Cedric and Darwin made sure I got my tires today and went beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Would recommend this Pepboys 100%

Failed inspection of my wife's car for a small nick in the windshield. Got it replaced and brought it back for a free re-inspection. Was told it would only take a minute. I sat in the waiting room for 1.5 hours because nobody communicated that the re-inspection was done. Just poor customer service.

Overall process was good, but the price I was told was almost the half that I was charged after doing the maintenance, I understand human mistakes is part of any experience but they should offer a better solution that just said you need to pay the correct amount or work can t be completed, after tough discussion was able to receive a discount because it s my fault it should came from them and no me asking for it. They did follow up about the service and provide great advice about what should I do to my car, they fix it and now is working great!

Im a young guy who went to a separate mechanic who gave me a false State Inspection which had repair costs around $10k to repair for passing. Dorwin and Sara helped us get a real inspection without discriminating against my age, knocked my repair costs down to $400 and passed me, thank you Pep Boys!

This is going to be a bit lengthy, but maybe it will help out another customer. My recent visit to Pep Boys on the Golden Mile in Frederick was one of the worst I can remember. The lesson--DO NOT use the website to book your appointments because it really means nothing when you get there. I picked the 4 new tires I wanted installed on the car, scheduled the appointment for noon the next day, and arrived the next day right on time. Upon arrival I saw my tires, but was immediately told it would be a couple hours. I drove alone from PA to Frederick thinking I had an appointment. So, I told the Advisor I had to stay in the area. I thought I could grab lunch, hang out, then monitor the app to get updates. I received an inspection report within an hour, but the app indicated "your vehicle will be ready for pickup at 3PM" (3 hours). I wasted some time, walking through some local stores, then arrived back at 3pm...happy to see new tires on the car. When I went inside to pick up, I was told by a different advisor that the tech had put 2 wheels on backwards (the tread is directional on the tires I selected). In reply to my question as to whether he had an ETA, the Advisor replied "I don't." I sat down in the waiting area and after an hour, I returned to the desk to see if my car was brought back into the garage. The Advisor saw me and said, "Your car's not done." (now 4 hours in). I pointed out to the Advisor that I arrived 4 hours earlier for my 12pm appointment and pointed to where my tired were 4 hours earlier. He then appeared to blame me for the time it had taken since I used the online system and didn't call. I responded that "If the technician had installed the tires correctly, I could have been on my way home an hour earlier." At that point, he saw that I was angry and said "We'll prioritise your car." I walked out and came back 20 minutes later to find my car complete. The original Service Advisor I met with at noon was now there again and applied a 10% military discount because I had to wait so long (I'm an actual military veteran so i was probably eligible for that anyway).I now have nice tires on the car and am happy with the product, but the process was horrific. I'm so glad I didn't lose my cool, though it might have been justified. Big question my 14 year old daughter asked when I arrived home... "Why have an online appointment scheduling system when it really doesn't mean anything?" Someone really needs to answer this question!

Booked appointment for 4:00 on a Monday. Arrived 15 minutes early. After 45 minutes of waiting, nobody s touched the vehicle or communicated with me.This was literally just an oil change for a work van. If I were allowed, I d have rather done it myself before going through this nonsense.

Pep Boys got my car in and out quickly for a Maryland state inspection. Their online portal gave me real-time updates on the status of the inspection, they issued a complimentary report separate from the state inspection report, and they promptly called me after the inspection was complete to tell me it was ready to pick up. The cost was also reasonable compared to other options.

Had a flat tire and out of the many tire places I called pep boys was the only place that said I could come immediately. Let me know about recommendations on other things my car needed while servicing my car and finished my car at the time they said they would!

I was in a tight situation with a tire that needed immediate replacement and a long drive ahead of us. Manager David was very helpful in offering me an option that got us out the door and on the road again with minimum delay or difficulty.

This place is a joke. My truck sat outside all day and didn t get worked on when they told me to drop it off. Then when they do work on it they don t listen and put the old rim (that s bent) back on the truck when the new rim is sitting in the back seat. Nothing but people with no brains up there playing on their phones. What a joke

I had an appointment for an oil change at noon with the "I will be waiting for my car in store" option, got there at the time of my appointment, and asked for my keys to leave without my oil change having been done at 2:20 pm. If i wouldve made an appointment with any other place for an oil change, my car wouldve been serviced at my appointment time.

While I was out of town for work I got a nail in my tire and while all other shops had hours to a few days worth wait, Pep Boys was able to get me in short notice and get be back home safe and sound! Couldn t thank them enough!!

While on vacation, the AC on my 2011 F250 stopped working. Took my truck to Pep Boys, even thought I had my truck camper on the truck so it didn't fit inside the bay, they put the front-end in and did a thorough test of the AC system. Determined that the only issue was the charge was a little low. Recharged it and now it is working fine.
