Had my truck in at the beginning of December to have them look at the transmission. With in 2 hours they figured out the issue and proceeded to get to work rebuilding the transmission. While there, they fixed the broken sway bar mount that I parts for and had planned to fix after I got it back. Great service and I would recommend then to anyone!

This shop recently serviced/rebuilt the transmission for my Acura TL. Before just blindly accepting the diagnosis and the repair needed, I asked several questions and demanded explanations. The owner, Mike went out of his way and took the time to answer each and every one of my questions, to explain every step of the rebuild process, and (unnecessarily) help me understand the complete scope of the work to be done. I highly recommend this shop for anyone that wants the highest quality of work and attention to detail to be performed on their vehicle at a fair rate. Needed 2 engine light problems to go away to pass emissions. Tire pressure light was one of them, they couldn't help because they had no way to get my tires off. Also made appointment several days in advance and I brought it in first thing that morning. It wasn't looked at till the end of the day so parts wouldn't be available. Took a day and a half to get one of the two problems fixed!

Mike and his crew went above and beyond my expectations to get my Jeep on the road again. I knew deep down my jeep would eventually go down the road of needing the transmission rebuilt, and it finally reached that point in its life. Mike was able to work with me and pinpoint the exact damages and what needs replaced. After a rebuild and change of the transmission lines, Mike and his team got my Jeep back on the road running smoother than it did before. Mike explained before he did the work that they replace the damaged parts with better parts to prevent the issues from further happening in the future. Having never replaced a transmission in a vehicle in my life, I found myself in that position two years ago. I chose AAMCO to do the repairs, because being 65-years old, I had heard their ads on TV since being a boy. AM I GLAD I DID! The repairs came with a 3-year/100,000 mile warranty; and one-year-and-10-months into that warranty the car left me stranded along the road. I am a Premier member of AAA, and they towed me home that day, and on to AAMCO several days later. NOT ONLY DID AAMCO completely repair my transmission FOR FREE under warranty, but it's STILL UNDER WARRANTY for an entire year longer under the ORIGINAL warranty. Impressed?...Yes! Thankful?... Yes! Mike and his team had a lot to assess on my vehicle. There were several issues, which they pinpointed quickly. It was a stressful time, but they resolved everything as soon as parts were in...and right before a holiday. Thankful for their business!

My car was towed into the shop on a Tuesday and I had an appointment for that Thursday. They took over a week to then call me and tell me it was my starter. Which is what I told them that s what was wrong with my car, when I had it towed in. I removed my car from this location because he didn t tell me anything I didn t already know and kept my vehicle for over a week and they charged me a Courtesy check . Poor customer service

Aamco of Frederick MD has always been very reliable and pleasant to work with. Their communications with us have been fantastic. They maintain our fleet of work trucks. They have always been quick to respond and their quality of work would be hard to match. The owner Mike takes a serious hand ons approach and it shows in their customer service. The mechanics are very courteous and take the time to explain everything to you, and they make sure they explain it in a way that a non mechanic can understand. Their follow up is great, and it is a big part of how they communicate.

I called Mike at AAMCO of Frederick, Md. to discuss a transmission issue on Tuesday, July 27, 2012. He was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. The same day, I dropped the vehicle off for service and repair. It needed a fluid and filter change at my request, and the vehicle would not start in the Park Position. The shifter was sloppy and would not line up correctly with the chosen gear on the shifter column. The following day, Mike called to advise the service was finished and the repair corrected. Apparently, the transmission had loose bolts on the linkage, a minor problem. Though Mike could have claimed more serious issues and charged more, he didn't. The cost of repair for the problem...$45. Try to beat that at a dealership. I will be returning to AAMCO Frederick in the future for all my transmission needs. Mike is honest and straightforward. He does not play dealership repair games. Highly recommended.

Took my car in late Friday afternoon. Mike helped me right away and have the work completed by Monday afternoon. The work was quick and inexpensive.Incidentally, I went down the street to Sheetz to wait for my ride after dropping off my car and started chatting with a woman in the sitting area at Sheetz. Turns out she grew up with Mike and her first comment was how honest and affordable they are...apparently her husband used to work there. Couldn't get a better recommendation about how wonderful they are than from a rando stranger who has no vested interest in that recommendation.

Honest and efficient. Had a great experience after a lot of anxiety when I started having problems with my car switching gears. Got an appointment and a solution the next day. They said it would require a rebuild. Said they could do it, but strongly suggested that I look into my warranty. Even gave me a contact name for the person to speak to at the dealership. And special thanks to the staff who let me hang out In the office after hours waiting for my ride on a freezing day.

Wanted to thank Mike and his staff for fixing my Honda Accord. They rebuilt my transmission in 3 days just as I was told. Got my car back and it is working better than it ever has . I will used them if I need any other repairs in the future!

My brother was on his way back to eastern shore Maryland when his transmission failed. Mike came in on a Saturday his day off and fixed my brothers transmission. He repaired the problem and flushed his transmission and my brother said the truck drives incredible now. Customer for life not only for my brother but for me as well. Thank you Mike and crew for an experience neither of us will forget.Lee Lucas

Great place and wonderful experience, had transmission issues and appointment scheduled promptly. Mike is a pleasant guy that obviously enjoys helping people. Service was quick, efficient and less costly than what I was prepared to pay! Tried other shops for repairs/oil changes but will be returning to AAMCO from now on. Very knowledgeable, caring and trustworthy. Glad I found this place and I'm spreading the word! Don't go any place else!

Took my car here thinking I had to replace the transmission. Nope. Mike took care of my prpbl2m for $400. If you want something done right for a good price don't go anywhere else. This place is the best and I keep coming back

I had my Honda Accord towed to Aamco in Frederick. The car broke down on my way to work. When I got to Aamco, Mike helped me get a rental car so I could get to work. He called me 2 hours later and explained that the transmission had failed. My thought was OMG! After the shock Mike said that transmission could be rebuilt and gave me price. I checked around for pricing and warranties. Aamco was the best deal. I got my car back 3 days later and was very satisfied with the work. Mike and his staff treated me Great. I will take my car back to them for other repairs in the future.

Mike is outstanding!!!!! I was in Cascade Md. for a weekend event. I had just had a re-built transmission installed at my local Aamco in Nj. I broke down at 3pm on a Friday afternoon. Frederick was nearest. They are closed Saturday and Sunday. I was facing having to spend another night with the hope of getting fixed and home Monday. Mike stayed after hours to get me back on the road Friday night. I can t say enough good things about this experience with Mike and Aamco of Frederick MD.

Wow al these great reviews. They must be under new management or who s writing them? Too bad I had to give 1 star to comment. I went and had them look at my check engine light and was charged $80. I asked why charge to check the engine light which should be free according to the sign and advertisements, the guy at the counter said we checked more than that. Now did I ask to do that? NO the guy was totally rude and raised his voice at me when I challenged him. I had to pay otherwise they would not release the car to me. So with that said make sure you are clear which I was when it comes to checking you engine light. Lesson learn. Never again I will go there. Please make sure you contact the headquarters and express your concerns if this happens to you. Amoco is a franchise and have to abide by the rules. My opinion from experience!!

I would like to extend a special Thank You to Mike and the AAMCO mechanics for helping me with a replacement Ford AODE automatic transmission for my 1994 Ford Mustang GT. It was replaced under warranty, with all the costs covered by Transtar, the transmission's re-manufacturer. Mike's team also did a great job installing a mid-pipe and cat-back exhaust kit from Magnaflow, and then tuned up my Ford 302 (5.0) V8 so it runs great. Very reasonable costs, nice folks, and very honest. Look forward to using AAMCO Frederick again, for my other vehicles. Thanks again!

The gentleman I spoke with helped emmensly. He seemed honest and was eager for my business. Even though I did not do business with them they checked my engine light for free, and told me what they think the issue was. He even walked me though pricing and cost. If there is ever work for my car that I cannot do myself I will definitley use them.

I've talked to someone on the phone only. After explaining my problem and what I thought the cause to be I was guided to 'reset' my conversation i.e. "What do you want me to do for you sir/" and I guess I was supposed to respond "please let me bring my car in and diagnose my problem sir." I am a mechanical engineer and I am familiar with cars. I guess if you're ignorant about cars and transmissions these guys may work. If you're not they're not helpfull.

Took my car to Aamco for the Free engine light check. It took them about 30 minutes to check the car. The service guy said that I had a engine sensor problem. Then He said he had another customer with the same kind of car and the exact same problem and there was a recall on that part. He recomended I call the local dealer. The dealer fixed the car at NO CHARGE. Aamco was honest and helpful. I will use them in the future for service work on my families cars

The gentleman that runs this place (Mike) knows what he is doing and has a crew to back him up. This is the only place I will go for transmission work. Pricing is fare for this industry.

I have tried to schedule a transmission appointment three times, and every time some cranky old man answers the phone and gives me an attitude and flat out refuses to make an appointment for me.Really unprofessional.
