There are many auto repair shops in the area and it was hard to choose based on customers review, etc. However, after calling around and getting a feel of the services offered and costs, talking to Mike from Nelson s Service Center over the phone pretty much won me over with his customer service, fair pricing, experiences with hybrid vehicles but most importantly first impression as I had my hybrid vehicle serviced today. A superb job done by Mike and his technicians. They definitely earned my business! Highly recommended.

Outstanding vehicle service. I have had Nelson s take care of my vehicles for several years now. I have the upmost confidence in the staff. Mike the service writer does whatever needed to schedule you and have the work completed in a timely manner.

Very knowledgeable team at Nelson's. I've taken my Kia Telluride to them for my last three car maintenance appointments. They have a mechanic onsite who has extensive Kia knowledge, as well as other team members who have years of experience. They will do only the work that is required, but will inform you of other issues that may come up.Fast an efficient. New tires ordered and installed within a day. (I hadn't planned on tires at the original appointment and this was sorted within a day)Night drop box was helpful, keys were securely stored.Great service.

Took advantage of their oil change special to have Nelson's look into a check engine light. They scoped it out and diagnosed the problem easily. Everything was repaired/completed in a day and my car is running fine now! YAY!!!

I like everything about dealing with Nelson's Service Center. They deliver incredible customer service. When I was recently running some errands at lunchtime, I happened to stop by to schedule my regular service check. Instead, Mike said they could take my car right away, which fit my schedule perfectly. This such a great shop to deal with!Services: Tires, Battery

We've been taking our cars/trucks to Caton Auto Clinic and now Nelson's for well over 30 years. Their staff is always professional, helpful, and honest. Mike and the techs at Nelson's have been great to work with. They are fast, knowledgeable and always look out for us. I cannot express how much I appreciated (and highly recommend!) Nelson's Service Center assisting me with my car this past April! They were kind, quickly diagnosed the issue, and most importantly, they LISTENED to me.I originally brought my car into the dealer with a coolant leak but was unceremoniously brushed off and told there was nothing wrong, that "tank levels fluctuate." Despite my instance that only having an 1/8" of coolant in the tank was not due to fluctuations and reiterating the other concerns, they topped off the tank and sent me on my way.Since the issue was obviously not resolved, I took it to a local shop who confirmed there was definitely a leak but couldn't pinpoint where. They recommended I take it somewhere that specializes in hybrid vehicles since nothing was coming out very conclusive and they were concerned it might involve some of the hybrid components (and I very much appreciated their kindness and honesty!).Finally, I ended up at Nelson's! When I brought the car in they listened to me, considered the other issues I was having, and within 15 minutes had pulled up a Toyota TSB that exactly covered my issues and confirmed where the leak was coming from! According to the bulletin, the entire repair was covered and should be fixed at no cost to me through the dealer. So, not only did Nelsons diagnose the issue, they printed out the bulletin, highlighted everything for me, and made sure I was set to return to the dealer to have them fix the issue (which they did).I would definitely recommend Nelson's and will not hesitate to return to them in the future.

Very fast service, Mike is the BEST. The car had EXTREME electrical damage and Mike quickly diagnosed and replaced everything at a competitive rate. It's hard to find a reliable mechanic these days, and they were reliable when it seemed no one else was. Thanks for everything, Mike

I highly recommend Nelsen's Auto Service and would use it again. I used Nelsen's when my Transmision when out. Mike worked hard and seamlessly to take care of me from start to finish. He shopped around the same day and got me the best price. The service center had me back on the road within the week. Although I wasn't able to use Nelson's service because my car was backed with a warranty that I was only able to use at the dealership that I bought my car from, I could tell Nelsons is a very trustworthy place. The owner is very friendly and made me aware that the part I needed to replace should still have been under warranty and had me check before doing any work instead of taking advantage of me. I will forever use Nelson's for other issues that occur. Thanks.

The service department did a speedy and awesome job replacing my battery which is located in a strange spot under the hood. My Jeeps alternator had died while I was driving to work on a Sunday. Next day I had it towed to Nelsons with no appointment or anything and they made time to get it fixed and back to me same day. They replaced the engine. The first one they installed sputtered and leaked, so they ordered a second. Fitted with all new parts, hoses, connectors, etc. It's been all good since. My first interaction was to pickup a U-Haul at that location. The guys inside were so helpful that I scheduled an appointment for my inspection. They got me in right away. My vehicle was broke down while work delivery and had towed to here via AAA. It was late evening. I was pleased with their communication while I lived out of town. They were able get it done as promised for me to pick it up. If I get car issue in the area, I would go there again. Excellent service and pricing! Great to have a fair and honest family owned service center right in our community. The entire team from Owner Scott, to Mike and Justin are always friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Best choice in Finksburg and the surrounding area! My car (2009 Toyota Corolla) had been acting funky for a day and a half, with the interior light 'strobing' and the headlights dimming for a split second whenever I would use my turn signals, etc. I pulled in to Nelson's on my way home to see if they could do a quick bench test on my alternator, which they were too busy at that moment to do BUT the car forced the issue in any case by refusing to start back up for me! I left it overnight and they contacted me around noon the next day to let me know what the diagnosis was and give me a quote. I had them do some of the repairs, though not all (left one for later), and even mentioned that I thought the serpentine belt might need replacing because I heard it squeal a couple of cold mornings as I was pulling out of the driveway. They gave it a thorough once-over and decided that it did not, in fact, need to be replaced. My point is that I gave them an opportunity to tack onto the bill and they told me it wasn't needed, which gives me peace of mind that they are honest and have integrity. I'm proud to have known Dave, Margaret, and Ken Nelson for nearly 15 years! They have successfully repaired every automobile, truck, tractor, lawnmower, and probably other equipment I can't remember. They always go above and way beyond to make sure their customers are satisfied! A family-owned and operated business you can completely trust.Update: 07/31/2020I recently met Nelson s new owner Scott Steinbach, and their lead technician, Justin Greathouse. I needed the rear brakes on my 2010 Acura TSX checked for wear-out. Turns out the brakes were ok with plenty of brake pad remaining. Several of my dashboard lights were on. Throttle needed replaced. Dashboard lights kept coming back on. It took 3 trips but they kept working the problem until it was resolved at no additional cost to me. Good job guys with a special thank you to Mike for explaining everything to me. My Son has been going to Nelson's for years. Each and every time they bend over backwards to make your all work is first rate and you are 100% satisfied. Nelson's is extremely,honest,friendly and most help answer any and all questions about your problem. These days it is very hard to find honest..trustworthy businesses to deal with. The staff is always attentive and polite and eager to please. A major issue was found during my repair but was able to be covered by the company I purchased the vehicle from.
