Amazing team. If you have questions they have answers. Even the energy between the associates was great. They seem to truly enjoy their job. If I owned a neighboring mechanic shop I'd recruit from Valvoline.

Got a very much needed oil change a few weeks ago and the service I experienced was 10/10. Tamal and Taylor took great care of my car, changed my filters, and even educated me on why I shouldn t wait so long in between visits. Def gained a loyal customer! If I could give more than 5 starts I would :)

They have a scam running here. They told me I had a severe oil leak and urgently needed to have it fixed. They also said that the oil in my car was sludgy and the engine was dirty. Then, one of the men asked if I had a mechanic I trusted. When I said "Yes", he asked, "Are you sure?" He went on to tell me that he knows a guy at a mechanic shop down the street and if I tell him he sent me, I would get a good deal. I took my car to my trusted mechanic, and not only did I not have a "severe" oil leak, but they took a picture of my engine and told me for the age of my car, it looked very clean. I saw another review that basically said the same thing. This place used to be good, but no more. I'll take my business to my trusted mechanic from now on.

I arrived at the 4215 Montgomery Rd location around 6:30p. I knew they closed at 7p and wasn t going to stay if there were multiple cars being serviced but there was no line. There was one technician that was cleaning floors on bay 2 so I assumed it was closed. I parked behind the truck being serviced in bay 1. After a minute or two the technician in bay agitatedly waved me into bay 2. There was no greeting, just a list of commands. The technicians tone was seemingly annoyed. Presumably because I arrived near the end of the work day. Every command I was given was done facing towards the screen and spoken very quickly so it was difficult to understand what they were saying. I had to ask multiple times for them to repeat themselves. I, like most consumers don t expect a red carpet. However, I also don t like having to feel like an inconvenience when I m spending nearly $100 for an oil change. There was another technician that was checking air filters and tire pressure who actually exchanged niceties. Good marks for that technician. But the experience overall was very poor due to the behavior of the technician who processed my order.

Leaving this review for someone who took their car here:This is the Ellicott City, Maryland location.DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE UNLESS YOU PHYSICALLY STAND OVER THEM WHILE THEY DO YOUR OIL CHANGE!!!I took my car to get an oil change, and these people did not put a drop of oil in my car, which has now ruined my car! Then these incompetent people put that I had 1,000,000+ miles on my car invoice!! I called the store manager, Jordan, and she's the biggest liar on earth! After I caught her in a lie, she lied again about the lie and my car!I reached out to the corporate manager, and he claimed that he saw a video and heard the conversation about my car-so they are recording conversations without people's consent...anyway the corporate manager covered for the lying manager-and I even have a witness to PROVE these people are lying!! I even have proof from my car dealership showing that they ruined my car!! I will be doing whatever I can to expose this place and save others from having their cars ruined!And don't get me started on their "customer care" hotline-everytime I called, there were 13+people ahead of me, and I know the people weren't all calling for appointments.IF YOU GO TO THIS LOCATION, CHECK YOUR OIL BEFORE YOU LEAVE and take your own phone out and record them!! Don't sit in your car or wait in the lobby!!

One of this worst experiences I ve had here. Not only were that avg incompetent but they didn t ask me if I had any coupons and they put a newbie on my car who clearly didn t know what he was doing as several people had to assist him.When I asked about a tire rotation because the screen was letting me and them know I was due I was told they were short staffed. Absolutely poor customer service. My main cabin filter was highlighted as well and coolest flush but none of this was offered. The staff appeared to be annoyed and very unfriendly.I ve never been treated like I was just a number here. But this just turned me off this place.. poor management and customer service. I will take my business elsewhere.

Asked the service technician to drain the oil 3 times and was ignored. Then was told that they couldn't unscrew the drain plug because they are afraid of stripping the drain plug on cars. Then proceeded to ask if I wanted them to service my car. Umm no you can't unscrew a drain plug you sure are not touching the rest of my car. Save yourself and your car from trouble stay away from this place bad news!

I had to get a few services completed, and they walked me through the whole process. I have never had any problems with service here. Yes it s a bit on the pricey side, but you re absolutely pay a premium, but it s way worth it.

Had a Groupon for Valvoline full synthetic. Said they were out of stock of their own brand oil and tried to up sale me on a more expensive oil. Came back when they said it would be in stock. They then said my oil cap filter sounded like it was cracking when trying to loosen and would not take liability if it cracked and tried to up sale on a new oil cap for $70. Never heard of this happening in over 30 years of getting my oil changed. Went to the Valvoline in Glen Burnie. NO PROBLEM with my oil cap filter. Service was professional and excellent in Glen Burnie, they did full check of lights, signal lights, windshield washer, brake lights and cabin/ air filter... Service I DID NOT RECEIVE from EC Valvoline. I felt like I was being scammed in EC. They do not follow their Values at this location. Highly recommend going to the Glen Burnie location to avoid being ripped off!

I gave a full week for response of my complaint before posting this with no response from corporate.I went to get an oil change for the first time at the recommendation of my neighbor. She said it was very easy. In and out. You don't even need to get out of your car. As soon as I entered, I went to go into an empty spot and was waived to go into line behind another car. Then after waiting 5 minutes, they waved me into the initial empty spot I was going into. After I pulled in, they proceeded to empty my oil and fill with synthetic. Then they told me that they could not change the filter because they could not get it out. They said there was a housing that surrounded it and they could not remove it. They proceeded to tell me that even though they could not give me a full oil change, which is what I asked for, I had to pay for the oil that they placed in the car. I asked if I could just get a filter change somewhere else and they told me that I would have to get a full oil change somewhere else. Therefore, the oil that they placed in there would end up having to be replaced all over again. I have now been at this business for at least 40 minutes. I asked to speak to a manager who then told me that corporate does not value their input.He stated that he would not have a job if he let me leave without paying for the oil. I let him know that it was poor business and poor customer service to not offer a courtesy to a first-time customer. I had planned on bringing a minimum of three other cars here, however I will not frequent this company in the future. I reached out via email in order to have an electronic trail with the company with no response. I paid for the oil and left knowing that I would have to resend time and money for a full oil change somewhere else. Very disheartened at the response of the manager, who clearly did not receive the appropriate leadership training and for the way he felt about his position and his input.

Excellent service always. I get my oil changed and other small repairs like tire rotation or light bulbs replaced. The techs are always extremely pleasant and patient and kind when explaining when unexpected things show up. There is never a hard push or press to up sale you services you didn't come in for. I always appreciate a business that gives you good service and no uncomfortable hard sale tactics

I brought my car in last month for an oil change and was told that I need a new battery. I asked, Why is that when I got my car serviced and the battery replaced in June by an auto-mechanic out of the area? Then the guy told me that I have a severe engine oil leak that needs immediate attention. And as I look at my receipt, it s noted that the power steering fluid level was checked OK. However, in taking my car to a nearby auto-mechanic today because it was making a loud humming noise, the mechanic said that I needed power steering fluid, which is the reason for the noise and that I also need a power steering hose/pressure hose. Nothing is wrong with the battery. Nothing is wrong with the engine. Smh. Just for lying, I won t be bringing my car here anymore for oil changes.

Super easy! First time trying this place, I've been always an old fashion when talking about my car maintenance, you know, taking the car to a mechanic for all related with this. I was in a rush, and I thought I don't have the time to take my car to the mechanic and leave it there for all day... So, I came to Valvoline instant oil change. For my surprise they offer you different services, is not only change the oil (I know, maybe many of you already know that). They check all fluid levels, filter, changed the oil and my wipers. Super satisfied, the employees are super kind, gave easy instructions, offered to review different things. It was a really nice experience. I'll definitely come back. :)

Staff here is great. Courteous and helpful. Had my oil changed and the skid plate on the front of the car came loose. Taylor put it back on and made sure it was on tight. They even put in new clamps to replace the rusted ones, when I came back. Austin was a great help. Will definitely make sure I come back.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

The quality of service at this location is going downhill. A month ago I had oil changed for my car. Was not asked to perform standard checks (lights, signal, wipers), other checks were not performed either (tire pressure, battery, fluids, etc) as I was sitting and observing the whole time. Got home and day later found the oil filter under cover for my car was held in with 1 screw, dragged, and was destroyed by the time I figured out where the noise was coming from.Back again today with my truck. Ask attendant at door if the bay I was at was good for tire rotation, said yes. Got oil change for my truck, no checks performed again, this time I spoke up and made them go back and do them. Was then later told, due to shift change, they were now understaffed and wouldnt do my rotation, spoke with manager who provided no resolution. Manager said it was a safety issue, another attendant prior said it was because they were too busy. Seems to my like my $40 service was suddenly not worth doing when they had an $80 oil change in line behind me. It was effectively a bait and switch for the service I wanted and expected today.I write no reviews, not usually worth my time. My experience was so bad I called the hotline to report it and am now also making this review to warn others.Be attentive to those boxes they check complete on your invoice, you may just find the service you pay for not being done.

Used to be good. Service has gone downhill with a questionable practice. They used to show you three choices for oil change but now they only show you the two expensive ones to guide you to pick the middle one which is a maxlife. Scam oil changers, everytime I go here something breaks within a few weeks (ie battery, brakes). They also charge $120ish for an oil change but oil life plummets in less than 2000 miles / 2 months.

Solid place for a quick oil change. Workers are pretty nice, but my only concern is that they move pretty fast and you're never really sure how well they're checking things. Please ask questions if you are at all confused...

The staff was great in their step by step explanations and attention to details! I also had my tires rotated which is usual for me. Everything done while comfortable in my vehicle! Again, great staff and team work!

Boo!! Don t listen to their warnings and recommendations ! Liars! I was told my battery was corroded and serpentine belt was cracked and almost breaking. That my car was in a dangerous state and my toddler was in the back seat at the time of the oil change. They wanted hundreds of dollars for the repair. I took my car instead to a trusted mechanic who found NOTHING wrong with my year-old battery or the serpentine belt. Shame on those employees for trying to dupe people! Shame on Valvoline! TLDR: Please save yourself some time and money and do not go to this location. I had heard good things about Valvoline and recently moved to the area to find out that they had a location fairly close to my house. I needed a quick oil change on a Sunday before a long road trip and other places like Jiffy Lube and Lube Center were closed late in the afternoon so I was happy to see that this location was open until 5pm only to be disappointed when i got there because the technicians have no basic knowledge of oil viscosity and told me they could not service my vehicle.When i got to the location the technician that guided me into the bay seemingly seemed like he was very annoyed that I was brining my car in (it was about 20 mins before the shop closed) and the entire shop was empty. I told the technician (forgot to get his name because i was soo annoyed) that I have my own oil and filter and I would like to use that, his immediate response was "dont even worry about your filter we have those". Obviously that was not the point of me bringing my own filter because i like to use a specific brand for my car. The technician then proceeded to get my information (still talking like he did not want any part of his job which he is getting paid to do) and asked me where my oil is. I pointed to the back seat and advised that the vehicle recommendation is 0W20 viscosity but because of the recent harsh summer temperature that we are having I want to use 5W30. His immediate response was "Ohhh naaah braahhh we dont do that here, close this car up. We dont want any liability claims for using this oil". At that point i didn't even want to argue or say anything about how this person knows nothing about engine oil and what the difference between a 0w20 and 5w30 oil is as he had already started ordering the rest of the team to close up the hood and started deleting my order from the system.For having "Experts you can trust" as their motto says, this technician that I dealt with was far from one, had a terrible attitude about his job and really seemed like no one wanted me to be there and essentially found an excuse so that they did not have to work on my car late in the day. Save yourself some time and go to someone you trust or would be able to provide you good customer service if you decide to spend your hard earned money there.

Felt misled and duped...Showed them my owner's manual and the cap on the engine recommending 5w-30 oil. They promised and assured me they would do use that correct/manufacture recommended oil for the car. Five minutes later after the job is completed, I asked them to confirm the oil and they said they used something else. They can't keep their word for five minutes? Promising one thing and doing another. I'm not trusting them with my car anymore.Service: Oil change

I went in to get an oil change, 4215 Montgomery RD, Ellicott City MD, the technician ask if I wanted my tires rotated for 39.99, I agreed my tired light was on after the rotate, when I left the valvoline shop, so I thought it would go off soon. The tire light didn't go off the next day, I returned on Tuesday December 27 about noon to the shop to ask them to reset the tire light, the man whom was the so called manager said they didn't reset the tire lights and I needed to take it to a tire shop, I responded wait you solicited a service but you cant reset a tire light!! (complete the job). He responded that's not what they do! I left that shop very confused and annoyed, call my mechanic, He told me the so call manager likely didn't know how to reset the tire light. My mechanic walked me through it, I set the tire light in three seconds! so If they offer you a service ask if they are certified to complete the job (resetting the tire light). My daughter and I will never do business with this shop again.Services: Tires, Oil change

Been here maybe twice. Each experience was pleasant. I noticed they have women working here now which is nice to see in any capacity. I didn't understand the suggested service and the tech was able the break it down for me. The other tech was very personable when I asked questions regarding my AC. A kind well manner young man took his time to demonstrate what I needed done. I certainly appreciate extra care when being spoken to about the maintenance of my car.
