Stopped in to see if they could check my tire because it had a slow leak. There was already one customer waiting and only one person behind the desk. They told me that I would have to wait until the manager came back. So I took a seat and waited about 20 minutes. The customer that was already waiting walked out of the business. About 10 minutes later, the person behind the desk walked in the back somewhere and never returned. At this point, my gut was saying get out, so I left and went to Jiffy Lube, and they were extremely pleasant and took care of me in less than 20 minutes.

This company was absolutely terrible. The only reason they get one star is because zero stars isn t an option. I took my car in for tires and an alignment, and the entire experience was awful. There was absolutely zero professionalism, respect, or expertise throughout the whole staff. The shop didn t complete the alignment, at all. When I asked the technician for his name, he refused to identify himself. DO. NOT. GO. HERE. They re blatant thieves, and I m absolutely abhorred with the service. 0/5 stars. Save your time, energy, and money and go elsewhere. The blatant disrespect is unreal. Believe every negative review you see on here, this is the worst company in the state of Maryland, and I m sure the only reason they ve been able to stay in business is from the few poor souls they re able to get over on. The only thing discount about this place is their attitude, work ethic, and morals.

I went to this place to have two front tires replaced purely out of convenience instead of driving to my preferred Volvo dealership in Cockeysville, MD. My vehicle came out with more problems than it has ever had...first, the tire pressure warning light came on less than 2 miles of leaving the shop indicating that the pressure on the front tires were "extremely" low. I stopped at a Royal Farms gas station and took care of it quickly but the next day, the steering wheel started vibrating all of a sudden while I was on I-95 and when I pulled over to check it out, I realized that the lug nuts were also coming off the front wheels while the rear ones were barely hanging on. I immediately called the shop and reported these incidents to the owner but when I showed up at the shop, he showed no concern, was overly dismissive, cocky at best, and plain ignorant with no apologies offered whatsoever. My advice to other unsuspecting customers out there: read and believe the reviews because they are to my surprise TRUE. SAVE YOURSELF, FAMILY AND FRIENDS THE UNNECESSARY HEADACHE AND LOOK FOR OTHER REAL AND NEARBY LOCAL SHOPS BECAUSE THIS PLACE IS CERTAINLY NOT A REPUTABLE SHOP - ANY MECHANIC WHO LET'S A VEHICLE LEAVE A SHOP THAT PUTS THE SAFETY OF PASSENGERS IN IT AT RISK HAS NO BUSINESS IN ANY CAR REPAIR SHOP, PERIOD!

DO NOT GO HERE terrible service and will definitely try to scam you for your money. If you need to get your car worked on go anywhere but here. Unless you wanna lose your money. I went here to get 2 studs fixed they told me it was gonna be 100 but then they said 400 and then they called saying it was gonna be 800 just for one side. They ended up fixing one side and when I got my car back the abs light was on and my bearing was broke and it was there fault but they said they wouldn t fix it and refused to do it even though it was completely there fault and I had another mechanic look at it. The guy at the front is just rude and doesn t care about anything.

Get a second opinion. They tried to charge me 3000$ dollars for a bad headgasket, without even checking under the hood.Turns out it was a small 300 $ issue which was repaired in a half hour at a dealership.

I had a State inspection appointment. A day before my vehicle became disabled. I try calling them to cancel my appointment. The answer machine coming on the shop is closed due to medical emergency. I was able to talk to them next morning. Refused to refund the money. I got charged for the service I didn t get. What a ripoff. Stay away from this place.

Dont ever go to this place if you're a woman. I went in because I had an oil leak. They charged me 1 price and once I got there I was informed that they forgot to charge me for "extra" items that I needed. Mind you that they fixed it and didn't inform me of fixing the problem. So after spending $1500 on a job that should have cost less I went somewhere else for an oil change and was informed "Miss do you know you have an oil leak"!!! I will never go there ever again.

guess I should ve read the reviews first. The girls at the front desk are great very personable. The inspector John is very ignorant and has horrible customer service!! took 15 minutes to fail my motorcycle charges $80 told me brakes, tail light, bars and suspension needed serviced but wouldn t explain why suspension failed. I Didn t touch the Suspension and he told me it felt way better. passed the bike in another 15 minutes. bills me another $20 and Receipt said discount $45 minus $25= $20 said it is what it is and I can pay the $20 take my key an I don t have to come back..thanks I didn t plan on it!!!!!Great way to run a business!!!!

I was a Mechanic for many years back in the day. It is difficult for me to find a place I can trust to do any work to my vehicles. This place is one of the exceptions. The owner knows what he is doing and he is very honest. I don't go there to try to make friends. The people there will treat you with respect and take care of any issues you have with your car. I have never been over charged and I will be going back in the future.

Went in for an inspection and was worrisome due to bad reviews. As I was driving there, I was thinking of stuff that might fail and after 1hr, they let me know exactly what I thought it might be and was fine with their fail (windshield wipers). It was rainy that day so I had to either wait or come back another day for them to complete the drive test. I was willing to wait so they worked with me. They needed weather to dry up and got me out of there in another 30-40 minutes. Would go again!

Believe every negative review that you read about this shop. They find ways to fail your vehicle, to keep you coming back to make money off of you. Then you take your vehicle to a more upstanding and credible shop and your vehicle passes because there wasn't anything wrong with your vehicle. John thinks that he's the automobile whisperer he thinks that he can do a diagnostic test and tell you what's wrong with your vehicle by listening to it.

I used to come to this place for my tire needs and have even referred them to people. I'm not sure what happened since I last visited, but the change is disappointing. I came to the shop to get something done and before I even got to the door, I was met by a caucasian man sternly telling me to "move that thing over there", gesturing me to move my car to a location near other cars. I came into the shop to tell them what I wanted done, the receptionist took my information (she was great, by the way), and she then turned to the man to relay what I needed. He then proceeded to argue with her about why he could not work on my car. I noticed that there was a caucasian customer being waited on before me who was treated and spoken to with respect. I told them that was fine (that he couldn't work on my car), took my key, and left. I will never spend my money there again.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE DO NOT USE J C TIRES FOR ANY STATE INSPECTIONS OR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE EVER! THEY HAVE THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL. I AM SO FRUSTRATED AND UPSET WITH THEM THAT I HAD TO UPDATE MY GOOGLE REVIEW.This was my 1st state inspection experience with J C Discount TIRES this year. J C Discount Tires has the worst Customer service and they are unprofessional. I am a Uber driver and I went to them to renew my Maryland State Inspection that is required if you are a Uber driver . I arrived early for my appointment which was at 1pm. The front desk clerk informed me that she had no record of me having an appointment. I then show her the email and text confirm I received from them stating that I had an appointment and after they took $55.00 from me for a cancellation fee to secure a appointment that I made online. The clerk then made smart rude remarks to me and then said I must have cancelled my appointment which I did not. She then informed me that I would have to wait because they had no record of my appointment and I had to wait to see if they could fit me in . That took 2 1/2 hours of waiting to get my car inspected. My 1st inspection failed because I needed 3 new tires and my windshield wipers were squeaking and I needed to remove my steering wheel cover. I then informed the mechanic that my windshield wipers were new he then told me that I just may need to clean my front windshield off and it should stop the squeaking. I then asked him why I needed to remove my steering wheel cover because it made no sense to me. He stated that they slip when your turning the wheel. Okay! My vehicle did not pass the 1st inspection so I had to return for a reinspection 2 week later. My 2nd inspection experience was worse then the 1st experience. I arrived at 1:08pm which my appointment was at 1pm. The same rube front desk clerk from the 1st time with bright baby blue hair( Unprofessional how can I take this business serious when the 1st person I see in your establishment has bright blue hair) informed me that because I was 8 minutes late that it would be a while before I was seen. Really? Okay! While I was waiting I was subject to more unprofessionalism from the blue headed front desk clerk who was talking on her personal cellphone laughing and joking with whom ever she was talking to on the phone again unprofessional. After waiting a hour the same mechanic came out and said he couldn't past me because one of my windshield wipers was cracked. Now I didn't drive that car since the day he told me that my tires were bad so I was driving a 2nd vehicle I have. When he failed me for the first inspection he said my windshield wipers were squeaking not damaged. If I would have known this I would have fixed it and not just clean my windshield off. I then left to get the wipers replace. I came back a hour later to see if he could pass me for the inspection now but the blue headed clerk states you need to make another appointment. Really? How long would if take for you to check off that the windshield wipers were replaced because everything else passed. She states that's the rules. I then informed her about the horrible customer service that they have and I informed her that I would report them to Uber and the Better Business Bureau and she stated she didn't care. I should have known about them having bad customer service because there are sighs hanging in there shop that say and I quote " If you have complaint. The complaint center is 200 miles away. " And " I can only please one person a day and today is not your day and tomorrow will not be either. " Those sighs says it all for me they just don't care .Next year I will not be going to them for my state inspection and I will make sure I email Uber and the BBB about the bad customers service and the fact that they are unprofessional and rude. I am so glad that Uber has other locations in MD now so I don't have to be subject to their horrible customers service.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS! BUYER BEWARE! Arrived at the business at 11am for a reinspection on my vehicle. Only 2 items needed to be checked; a tire patch and and windshield repair. The owner finally gets to my car around 12 o'clock and immediately comes back and says I still have a nail in my tire. So, I drive a mile down the road to a reputable tire repair shop (Ben's Tire) who pulls nail out of tire and discovers it needs no patch so no charge. I return to this place after being told when I left that I could come right back and wouldn't have to wait long being that they only needed to check 1 thing. To my surprise, when I returned the story had changed. Long story short, they didn't finish looking at my car until 4:55pm. That's 6 hrs for what should have been a 1 hr appt.Probably the worst experience I have ever had with any business, not just repair shops but any business. The worst... really.Avoid at all costs.

I took my car in for the Uber State inspection. I knew there were a couple issues and the car would not pass the first go round. The mechanic John noticed a faulty motor mount that I did not. I fixed the issues with my car and now the car rides and runs smoother then ever. Good quality work.

I've been a customer of JC for over 9 years. I take all of my vehicles there for maintenance and customization. I have had wheels purchased as well as custom parts for my motorcycle. The staff cannot be beat, going above and beyond to help you get the right part for your vehicle. The prices are reasonable and the mechanics are honest, telling you what is truly "required", while letting you know what can wait for a later time. This is the best true mechanics shop around, hands down! Thanks John, Nic, and Rene for a great place to bring my vehicles to!

It's okay don't get anything complex done here maybe a brake job or anything to do with tires is fine but anything past that I wouldn't do it. The guy that takes your information at the front desk kind of has an attitude most of the time so if you can get past that then you'll be halfway decent.

My husband took his van to this place for an inspection and was told that he needed to replace all four tie rods, but they were all new and was told he had a leak with power steering and wanted to charge him $1500.00. He checked with a friend who is a mechanic and he was angry. He also paid for an alignment that doesn't appear to have happened because my vehicle is now pulling to the left. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR ANY SERVICE--THEY ARE RIP OFFS. They also told another customer that to change the rear brakes pads and rotors it would be $600.00! Ridiculous.

Don't go for an inspection. I have a brand new vehicle only 2 yrs old they find reasons to fail ya. Windshield wipers which worked fine when I left, tire issue(that was true i knew that) an already repaired chip in windshield which I had proof was repaired and they had passed previously for uber but wasnt good enough so told i need to replace whole windshield if that was the case then ya rush to get all that fixed to reinspect in time to pay a lower fee for them to magically find a screw in the 1 tire that had an issue very suspicious to me. Also why inflate my tires when they were already inflated to correct amount now they are all higher then they should be which is bad for your tires. Also its a tire shop that didn't even have that tire in stock to replace knowing I would then have to leave fix and pay for another whole inspection again because it wouldn't be possible to get appt for another inspection with the 1000 miles. Like come on.

This review should be no stars but that is not allowed. I went to JC Discount Tires to get a Uber sponsored State Inspection and was told that I needed to replace the CV boot and axle on one side because the guy felt a vibration through the floor when driving the car. He told me he was unable to test the other side because he didn't have anyone to ride in the car with him. I volunteered to drive so he could check the other side but he declined. I was also told that I needed to replace the front rotors and brake pads due to a very small vibration in the wheel when braking. I was also told that the car failed due to wiper blades and a fog light bulb. I was handed an estimate to do the CV boot work ($300+) and I told him I would do the other repairs myself. The rotors and brakes were less than 6 month old and I declined to do the CV boot replacement. When I left, I took the car to a trusted shop and they found several minor things that JC missed and confirmed that the CV boot and axle were completely fine. They also confirmed that the rotors and brakes did not need to be replaced. I addressed the minor issues with the car and was given the passing Inspection Certificate by the trusted shop. The guy at JC was rude, provided no explanation for the "needed work" until I pressed him, and he seemed to be working the State Inspection process to get more work. Slimy Avoid this place.

Very bad service. Came for a patch cause they do not do plugs so they told me I need two new tire cause it was dry rot. The tire they took off didn t even have the nail in it was the opposite tire. Then they told me they would only sell me two tire not one so I asked to put the spare on instead and I would go elsewhere. They still took off the wrong tire (one without the nail). I had to take it back for them to switch out the right one. Went to firestone and got a tire put on for a way better price.

Great place to go for tires. Got 4 wheels mounted and balanced. Had me in and out within an hour. Nice people and professional. My dakota now drives better than before. Will do business again.

Front desk guy with a flat top hair cut was to busy shoving a sub into his mouth to be worried about selling me a tire. Very dismissive, and unprofessional. Will NEVER return! Do yourself a favor and go up to Bens Tire (2 miles west on the left) where they are fast, courteous and professional

Worst place ever , I mean it was crazy from the time I was there each driver fail the inspection and this John told them they need to get this and that and they have it available right here in their shop at low rates so my car is brand new they couldn't find anything on it they decided to told me my wipers don't cleared up well so I need to buy a new one from them and it is $ 40 dollars So I went to Jerry Toyota where I got my car from to have it replaced & the man check it he said honey you don't need to replace it there is nothing wrong with it and he ask me why I want to change it anyway, I mean I am really disappointed of that place They take advantage of uber drivers to make extra money despite the fact that they are getting paid by uber. They can go really down for money.

Whoever answers the phones is completely unprofessional is just socially awkward to a point they can't handle basic conversations like a normal functioning human being. Glad I called before going into this clown show.

The Man (Owner) is very rude and full of himself. I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes earlies - he asked what bring me there; I explained and then gave him my car keys. When I was still talking to him another gentleman arrived - he immediately ignored me and started conversing personal business with him, I reluctantly took a seat. After a while I got up to ask more questions: he looked at me from head to toe and continued his personal conversation - talking about his six car garage home in jopa, big house in belair, vacationing in Florida and taking some teaching jobs - I was not amused. I stepped back and continued to wait patiently; when I got up again to ask him a question, he rudely stared at me and asked me to excuse him as he continued with personal conversation - I finally got help when his wife (I suppose) walked in. She seemed nice. Stay away!

Don't know bout you... but I don't thing I will ever return to J C Discount Tires. Went there for an UBER inspection... and had to stop them mid inspection...My car, recently purchased, is in great condition and does not have any issues... and i Don't need any Free UBER Inspection Stations creating major damages to my car. Here is briefly what I experienced today:Initially, I arrived early (around 8:15 am) for my 8:45 am inspection appointment. I show ed the lady my UBER application, and she filled out the paperwork for the inspection. Gave her my keys, purchased an A&W Root beer... for a dollar.... then sat down. Something inside me said... go outside to watch the inspection.... So i did. Glad that I did... cause what I witnessed, made me tell them to STOP THE INSPECTION NOW.Two gentlemen, were working on the car.... one younger and the second, an older gentlemen with tattoos. Appeared they were having difficulty removing my right rear rotor.... so they started hitting the rear wheel, VERY HARDLY with a sledge hammer!!!!! Bam Bam Bam... Numerous times .... (> 8-10 times total) .Then the older gentleman began prying it with crowbar and began alternating the prying and beating... I could not take it anymore.... So I told him to stop the inspection Now.The older gentleman appeared to become angry, and said, "I have been working on cars for over 50 years... I know what I am doing"Maybe so... but if there was any damage caused by him to my car... I seriously doubt he would repair the damage. It was blatantly obvious to me... that WITH SUCH GREAT FORCE the rotor was to come off.... it would have resulted in MAJOR DAMAGE to my vehicle.... My regret is that I did not stop them from brutally beating my wheel after the first sledge hammer strike.Case and Point: My father told me years ago.... NOTHING in this world is free.... cause you always get what you pay for... and sometimes free will cost you a lot more in the end.I do not visualize another visit to "J C Discount Tires" for me.

I went to this shop to have an Safety Eval on my car for UBER. The only things that were needed was for me to take the wheel cover off of the steering wheel and to replace a bulb over the license plate. I stated that I would replace the bulb myself. The guy and the heavy set girl thought I said replace it. Once I stated that I was not paying $15.00 for him to change my bulb and for him to put it back. He got angry and did not finish the eval and wanted me to come back on 25 April 16. Now Uber was already paying him, why would I pay him $15.00 to change a$3 bulb, which he should of charged me for the bulb and change free of charge and I could change myself , as I did. The girl lied state the another appointment showed up and I would have to schedule an appt. due to the eval would take another 30 mins. Before leaving I over heard another customer state he was coming if for a wheel. The guy stated a price and the customer stated that was a way higher price then he paid for the same tire a month ago. Please take you Business Elsewhere. Poor trash giving trash like service.
