Preordered antifreeze on the Advance Auto Parts app for in-store pickup. My order confirmation stated that I could pick my order up within 30 minutes. I arrived to the store an hour later, but the attendant hadn t pulled my order yet. At first he couldn t find my order in the system. Once he found it, he left to go get it, all to bring the incorrect item. I had to tell him that what he pulled was the wrong type of antifreeze, and that I needed the type for european vehicles. I also informed him that I put my vin number into the app, just to be sure that I was ordering the correct item. He insisted that what he pulled for me was the correct item. I had to literally pull out my phone and pull up my order to show him. Even the colors on the bottle were different. Finally, he went back to the shelve and retrieved the correct antifreeze.I felt like I did a lot by setting up a profile, entering my vin into the app, and ordering/paying on online, all to have to tell the associate what I needed and I still had to wait. Also, I arrived 15 minutes before store closing and the door was already locked. I had to knock to get in. Major inconvenience across the board.

I went in t last Sunday 12-10-23 to get a 5 quart jug of oil. There was a cashier and a guy who seemed to be a customer talking to him for about 3 minutes. Turns out they were both employees! I say this because the guy went behind the counter and sat on like a chair.So I ended up returning the oil cause my mechanic took care of my leaking valve cover gasket. Things got even worse with the return, the cashier was a cool young man who called for the manager Mrs. Tina, it literally took her about 20 minutes to come to the front to process my return. While waiting for her I could see her on her phone through the shelves. When she came up she did apologize once and was pleasant but the time waiting was unexcusable.

Knowledge let's talk that, simple things show ignorance. I'm supposed to be able to walk in this place and get expert assistance not "hey what can I do you for" not in those exact words but close. Between 2 returns and everyone looking like it's ok. I know what to expect now. I'm going to have to fend for myself.

Make sure you double check the parts Bima helps you with. I went in to get front/rear pads and an oil filter. Bima gave me the wrong front pads and wrong oil filter. He did give me the correct back brake pads. Meaning, I gave him the correct car info. However, he was too busy chatting and asking me for a job in my company and not focusing on getting the correct parts. Huge inconvenience for me considering how far I live from that location for a return. I would rate this location 1/10 thanks to Bima bad service.

Was on hold for 20 minutes and still didnt get a response. I understand being busy but all i wanted to know what time they closed for the holiday since it doesnt show on google maps. Couldve picked up and asked what i needed first.

*Naomi #2211* - Sherman Owens (GM) at 5826 Silver Hill Rd Dist #2211 deserves a raise. This guy stood ten toes down, took charge of my situation with a smile and great attitude. Excellent 'white glove' Service is what I call it. He went waaay beyond the call of duty to make my vehicle parts experience emotionally satisfactory... Before coming into his store, I had very piss poor service, bad retail experience elsewhere at another service company, and car care anxiety... But Sherman gave me the right service that, in turn, gave me faith in humanity again. Kudos to this manager

The sales rep at Advance Auto in District Heights, Md., answered the phone and was not sure about the product I had inquired about; however, he placed me on hold and another team member knew exactly which product it was, and assisted me with it upon my arrival. Whereas, the Advace Auto in Capitol Heights never seem to keep stock of supplies and often hires people that have no idea what you're talking about and does not want to come from behind the counter to try and assist you with your request.

Today I went in to get a fuse for my cigarette lighter. I stood in the line for 30 minutes to only be told that I have to read the owners manual, because they cannot tell me. No problem! While in line a customer asked what kind of car and said try 20A. However, when I used Google it was conflicting. Thus, I went to my car, grabbed the manual, and back into the store. By this time there was so many people in the line 10+ the security officer told them to wrap the line to the back of the store. After I grabbed the fuses I asked the cashier where can ring up this purchase. The guy yells Miss there's one line for everything. I said but I only want to purchase. He said again, one line for everything. I said so you mean to tell me that I have to stand in this long line to check out? He said if you don't like it, there's other stores in the community. I said wowwwwww! Can I speak to the manager, he said I am the manager. Again, I just said wow. The security officer and all store personnel agreed with me so I stood again in a long line. Good customer service is so hard to find. It's really a shame! I refuse to go back into this store ever again. Because if I want to make a simple purchase, I don't want to wait while customers order parts.... sad part they may look up parts, but doesn't guarantee they're making a purchase.This store can't get good ratings, and it's no wonder why Auto Zone is a larger competitor. They run customers away and after speaking to the manager she said it's their standard. Hmmmm, ok! Well change it!

The phone customers service is horrible. The girl today that answered the phone was rude and unprofessional. This is all the time. I m about to stop spending my money there if they can t hire better employees. Then most of the time they don t know how to use the computer or help u cause they know nothing about cars. Not even basics. Advanced auto is a former shell of itself. 12:16 was when I made the call girl is untrained or they just that ghetto.

Ok shop sent me over to get parts, said it would be quicker, went in spoke to 3 different people looking for guy the shop spoke to. Could not find him, didn't matter guy help me out big time! Saved me $85 dollars, all I needed was a screw, a damn screw to pass MD inspection, got it, passed. Thanks to them, I'm rolling.

Calling this place at 8:30 AM and you need to be put on hold for over 10 minutes? That literally makes no sense, especially when the activity/foot traffic tracker clearly states you guys aren t busy at all. Please hire better employees and throughly vet them.

When to buy a pair of CV axles. I ordered online I picked it up the next day, everything was fine up to that point, the problem was when I had my Jack up and most parts removed. Advance Auto parts gave me the wrong parts and not only that they gave me a part that was previously been used and returned because the axel nut threads were strip really bad. They only good thing I can say is the return policy I return it no questions asked but I had a bad experience with them. Maybe it was my fault for not opening the box in the store.

A must for any diy wrench. This place has a great selection of tools and parts, and you can even order online and pickup in store within an hour or so. The staff helped me troubleshoot a problem, and made sure I had the tools for the job. Hands down the best service out of any auto parts store!

This facility is so clean and organized! The technicians, service staff are friendly and professional. Wait time in line was minimal. They greet you and ask "how can I help you" Amazing!!!!

Just to be clear I never write reviews on anything, but feel I need to GO OUT OF MY WAY to inform potential customers to GO ELSEWHERE!!!I was online ordering some routine maintenance products for my SUV (Gear Oil, Thermostat, Dex-Cool antifreeze and headlight bulbs) and was pleasantly surprised when I saw this was the only store that had my Thermostat in stock, little did I know what a nightmare I was walking into...I went to pick up my order 5-6 hours later and expected my parts to be pulled and waiting for me under the counter (as was my experience at other Advance) but no, they hadn't done sh**t and I had to round up my whole order from one side of the store to the other with no assistance whatsoever!Things weren't over there, no, I waited OVER AN HOUR!!! on my day off (Sunday) while they looked for my headlight bulbs, and only after that I found out the employee had been helping other customers and had forgotten about me!!! (an african american man wearing a beanie who was also VERY RUDE about the whole thing!!!) So he proceeded to casually let me know that my part was "out of stock" even though their website said it was IN stock (simple 9005 bulbs).After that they also informed me they were out of Dex-Cool anti-freeze concentrate even though it was listed as in stock at every store in this area including this one!!! So I proceeded to ask if I could just go pick it up at another Advance in the area, and after another 30min and an argument among employees they finally decide that that isn't possible and that they have to refund the two supposed "out of stock" items back to my card, and send me on my way to another store.After what seems like an eternity the slow moving employees FINALLY issue a refund back to my card and ring up the rest of my order.So 2 HOURS LATER I finally walk out of this sh**tstorm of a place with half my order and no time to work on my car until next week. Oh and I'm still waiting for that refund to appear on my account, if it's not there by tomorrow at noon I'm calling CORPORATE and involving them.I've had enough of the SLOW, USELESS, RETARDED, RUDE EMPLOYEES at this Advance auto parts and will NEVER GO BACK!!!

Spent hours looking for some parts at different advance auto parts stores, and couldn't find them. Then, I was told that this was a big store, and that I could find anything I needed, and they were right. I found the muffler and tail pipe replacement for my Dodge Dakota 1999.

They are always busy but do not carry alot of products as other auto parts stores at least not what I needed on a few occasions. Customer service is okay.. There is parking.

The service at this store is lowsy,when asked the assitant mananger why everytime I come here no body is working or not enough people on staff. His reply was theirs not enough employees here to run this store effectivly. I told the mananger that at lease 7 to 10 people walked out if I was the owner I would be sad to see that much money walk out. ADVANCED AUTO PARTS GET IT TOGETHER.

Horrible costumer service. i was waiting for someone to come up and help for a long time and nobody even bother to ask if I was being helped by any other associates. So at the end I end up leaving the store with out making a purchase and an unhappy.
