We were happy with Benchmark before. They detailed my teens car once before selling and did a great job and we have also gone there for simple maintenance. Always been happy customers there. Now though we are ecstatic patrons! Shawn performed a miracle on my total mom minivan. You know the kind crumbs in every crevice from the last 8 years that no car wash vacuum can make a dent in. Kids gunk in the cup holders that I had given up on keeping up with because the whole van was just tired. Today I picked up my van that Shawn detailed and it feels like new!!! Blew my expectations and even my highest hopes! I am truly grateful and highly recommend treating yourself to a Shawn detail at Benchmark. PS don t forget to tip, especially if you take in a vehicle like I did.Service: Auto detailing

I dropped off my 1986 E30 with them over the winter while on an out-of-country work trip. The work to be done was discussed beforehand. I had high expectations for them after visiting their shop and talking to the techs, but I was left with major disappointment.There's no way to contact them other than phone calls. No activity on social media or emails. I was provided an email address by them before I left, but all emails went unanswered. The email on their website was also non-responsive. I tried reaching out on social media, but those went left unread, too.When I finally got home and could call them, I was alarmed to hear they only completed half the work. So I asked them to complete the remaining work ASAP, but I was required to call them anytime I wanted an update because they never called with any progress updates.Before I left for my trip, I requested they replace/fix a window regulator ASAP because the passenger window was stuck partially open, but that hadn't been done. So, my interior sat open and exposed over the entire winter.In that time, they did a differential replacement for me but scrapped the original differential without contacting me. It was a reasonably rare 3.25 differential, too. I was not even given a discount, refund, or core replacement. They told me they would source a replacement diff, but it's been weeks without contact, not like that's been a surprise.I hate to leave negative reviews, but overall, I would not do business with these guys again, nor would I recommend them to anyone else.Overcharged and undelivered for technical service. Poor customer service.

This business is excellent in service! Went in because my A/C was making a weird noise. Somehow one of my receipts got caught into the blower motor. They had me in and out within 15 minutes! Best part is that it was on the house. I'm sure any other place would've charged an hour of labor. The staff is very honest and professional. I would definitely recommend. Thanks Rob!

I was recommended this place by doug at fresh designs. I love it . Don't bother with the porsche dealership unless your under warranty. Benchmark has saved me alot of money by being honest with me and not give me the "porsche tax". They are always very professional and upfront with the costs. I will continue to take my cayenne here as long as I own it.

Went for the first time yesterday and will be back with all our cars! Clean shop, friendly staff, easy to schedule, and fair pricing. This place is the best. Rob who manages the front always gets my Audi in keeps me in the loop with my Audi s progress.From Danny to Jerry and every member of their team, they re all personable and truly are amazing at what they do. Being broke down on the side of an interstate is never fun. Not knowing the area and which shops service BMW's I did a quick search on the phone and thankfully found Benchmark. They were familiar with my issue and were able to get me in SAME DAY! I was very please with the work performed at a reasonable cost. The staff at the shop was very friendly and it was a very clean and modern shop. If you are in Howard county and need European car repair I highly recommend Benchmark Motors.

This place is legit and Rob the guy from the front desk is really really nice. I can tell this place will not ripped you off. I know were to go now next time i have problem with my car!! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!

Good work done on my car. Lack of follow up with communication led to poor customer service. Very nice folks and set a good first impression, including meeting the owner. I had a lot of work performed on my BMW for almost a week and paid A LOT of money. However the status updates were lacking even when promised I'd get a phone call. And then they lost my car key to another customer and despite promising to get me a new key ASAP, they took too long to get it back to me, again with no status updates. I had to call them to get updates. I'm giving them 3 stars instead of 2 because they were nice enough to fix an issue in the repair area for no charge.

My wife and I have been using Benchmark Motors for the past six years for our cars. They have consistently done an excellent job at a fair price. Their mechanics are excellent as is the front desk staff. They have solved some complex problems. We trust them and highly recommend them.

Called into make an appointment for tire balance, rotation and 4-wheel alignment for a BMW X3 and was scheduled in the next day morning. Dropped off at 9am and the prescribed work was completed by noon. During dropoff Dan was very kind to give me a ride back home. They called me when the work was completed. During pickup they explained in detail the results of the work and the price was reasonable. They were friendly and professional. Highly recommended.Service: Tires

Fantastic customer service. As a new customer, formerly taking my car to the dealership, the Benchmark team was able to save me several thousand dollars over the repair quoted by the dealer. They actually found the correct root of the problem, which was based in fixing several points where oil was leaking into the electrical system while restoring (rather than replacing) costly electrical components. Car runs great and now I will keep it and bring it to Benchmark for here on out. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Kevin kept me up to date on progress every step of the way.

I have been using Benchmark Motors for several years. This summer my BMW would not start so I used my BMW motor club and they towed the car to the Dealer on Route 40. I was told they could not tow it to my repair of choice. However this was wrong. My customer rep at the BMW dealer has always been great. However we came to a parting of ways when the bill came to over $5,500. I paid for a re- tow to Benchmark and ended up with GREAT SERVICE!! A BILL of $1800 for the same work the dealer was wanting to change over $5000 for. Granted I did not do everythin on the dealer list. Which by the way was not needed. I will continue to use Benchmark without hesitation. BMW motor club or not.Thanks so very much

After receiving high estimates for some maintenance work on my BMW, I had Benchmark do the work for a very reasonable price. Dan also let me know that some of the work was not necessary, saving me even more money.Dan and Greg were both pleasant and highly professional and the work was completed promptly. I highly recommend Benchmark.

Absolutely top notch service. It's a really nice place, they obviously deal quite a bit with high end cars. I have a trip this weekend and my 2009 Subaru Forester was running rough so I called around and nobody could fit me in except for Benchmark Motors who took a look at the car while I waited in their waiting room, which was so comfortable I almost fell asleep in the chair. I requested an oil change while there, which they took care of fairly quickly, and they were able to make some minor repairs to my car to greatly improve how it ran. They also mentioned that the brakes just had a little rust but the pads were fine so I could hold off on expensive repairs. I just moved to the area and these guys are definitely going to be where I bring my car from now on.

Honest professional friendly service! A BMW Dealer said one of my cars needed over $4,000.00 inservice! Benchmark inspected my car and found nothing wrong! Two years later and 30,000 milesand no problems! Benchmark provides excellence service for my 2002 BMW M-3, 2006 BMW 325Iand a 2008 Honda Element! Also an Audi we sold! I trust them and recommend them!

I brought my SUV in for an oil change and bulb replacement. The mechanic, Stuart, claimed he replaced the bulb but could not reset the warning light. I thought this was odd but assumed it would reset in a hour or so. Later that night I check and the light bulb still did not work. This would explain why the warning light would not reset. After paying for the repairs, I drove about 20 yards and hear a strange sound coming from under my vehicle. I immediately returned to the shop and told them about the sound. Stuart said he would look at it. He returned and said a part that connects the skid plates had broken. There was no mention of a broken part when I paid for the repair nor was there any info about this part included on my receipt. If a mechanic has problems performing simple repairs, I have little confidence they can satisfactory complete more complex repairs. I would avoid this repair shop.

Danny and the entire Benchmark team continue to provide excellent work at a great value. They cared for my 2005 BMW 330i for years and today our 2006 Saab 9-3 is running better than she has in years thanks to their diagnosis and repair. Other shops had quoted us $3000.00 and up but Danny returned it running perfectly for a fraction of that. Highly recommend Benchmark for all of your automotive maintenance needs.

We just started taking our vehicle to Benchmark. So far, we are very impressed with the thoroughness of the assessment of the problems and the help we received to rectify the problems. April 2016The last visit to Benchmark was very pleasing to us. Service was performed as promised and things seem to be working fine.October 2018Benchmark Motors has been consistent in providing quality service withcare and concern for my vehicle. The front office staff and the mechanic are very thorough in addressing our concerns and the needs of my vehicle.

Was told to bring my vehicle in on a specific day so they could take a look at it the following morning. Called to confirm before towing and they said that I would have to wait an additional week now. Don't know if they do good work but communication and reliability is a one star.

As always, over the past 10 years, Benchmark Motors has exceeded expectations. They have dutifully worked on my classic 88 MB560SL numerous times as well as two Lexus . Always knowledgeable, pleasant and talented.....traits often not found in such establishments. Facility is great and waiting area is clean, comfortable and provides coffee. You will not be disappointed.....give Benchmark a try!!

I got all my four tires and back brake pads and rotors replaced with the tires and brake parts I ordered from Tirerack for my BMW 335xi. Dropped of my car in the morning and collected it back in the evening. They even dropped me at my work in the morning and picked up in the evening as I didn't have anyone else to pick or drop me off. Although I had to come back for alignment as they forgot to recommend the four wheel alignment which is always needed whenever you get in new set of tires and I also forgot to ask. But other than everything went smoothly and I am very happy with them. Will definitely use them again.

Danny and all at Benchmark have always been honest and helpful in getting my cars repaired. The true test is how a business owner handles the rare problem, and recently they quickly corrected an issue at their cost, making my experience exceptional in the face of difficulty. They have earned my business as my first choice for all repairs that I cannot do myself. Over the years I have confidently referred them many times to my friends with European cars.
