Terrible business. Customer service is outright unprofessional. Service advisor Darrien super nonchalant. Zero communication with updates on my vehicle they've had over a month. Forced to call and even stop by the shop numerous times to get an update. All they do is blame the warranty company which I've been in contact with since day one that also say they've hadn't had an issue approving any claims that were submitted. When asked to speak to the supervisor, the service advisor was very dismissive. Simply told me his names Ed.., he's not here and he doesn't know his number just call the shop. This is a back door hole in the wall place save your time and money. Zero stars

Kind, honest group with great local service. I got my car inspection done here earlier in the year, and they were so nice. Today before I was on the road for a long distance road trip, I noticed my splash guard was detached. Called in and they were kind enough to take a quick look and reattach it for a great price. I really appreciate all their team members!

My Auto Repair Family at Pugh s Garage always gives me excellent service. They do a nice job and are always honest about what needs to be done. They truly care about their customers and it shows in the way we are treated. Many blessings to them!

Seems they operate by appointments only. Fine! Recently had my rear main seal replaced. Took 2+ weeks to finish. Sat for 1 week before touching it. Fast forward. Too much transmission fluid was added to the vehicle that s ONLY driven on weekends. Now it costed me a $400 tow and a Transmission replacement bill. Shop around first. They say, You pay for what you get. Being as though they are NOT cheap, I thought I was getting quality service. Shop around first

Pugh s Garage workers are always friendly and efficient when I bring in my car in for general maintenance and oil change work. I appreciate them spending the time to answer any questions I have about the repair work. The garage is also conveniently located near the College Park Metro, making it easy to move around while my car is getting repaired.Services: Steering & suspension replacement, Wiper blade installation, Auto maintenance, Oil change

This place is now my forever mechanic! I had an insurance claim that was denied but they fought for me and instead of me having to pay $2700 for a new transmission the insurance paid all but my hundred dollar deductible thanks to them! I am an international grad student at UMD so I was having a hard time finding a good mechanic that would match my budget and would be close. I am glad I found Pugh s Garage. I love that they won t do anything without your approval and they send everything to you in a link where you see exactly what they suggest you to do and the detailed price. You can then approve or deny whatever you choose. That was game changing for me since I needed time to search the terms and understand what was being done. So much better than just communicating through phone call.They are also very responsible. After repairing my break pads I was hearing a noise. I took my car back and they were so helpful. They took full responsibility in finding out why that happened and fixing it without any extra charge. I really appreciate their service and will keep going back every year for maintaining the car.

Having recently moved to the College Park area from out of state, we needed to have safety inspections on both of our cars. One car needed more work than the other, which we anticipated, and we were given explanations for all the work as well as an online estimate. Since they had to order parts, it would take a couple of days, and we were given the option of picking up to car so we could have it for the weekend. The parts came in quickly, so we were able to pick it up after only one extra day. There was a small issue with a missing hubcap, but it was handled efficiently. I appreciated that they texted us to check in a few of days after the work was completed. We will be taking both cars back when it s time for more routine maintenance.Service: Vehicle safety inspection

Sent car here thru warranty .. barely communicated to us or warranty. Had the car for 3 weeks just to tell us , they couldn't do the work and all they could do was say sorry and then charge $177 for a diagnostics. Also I repeat they never even called warranty and let them know they couldn't do the work . Maybe locally they are better but as far as claims work .. beware . Any shop on repair pals but this one .

Really bad experience:1. the price is NOT affordable! Went there for a state vehical inspection - it costs $80, which is a fair price. But they called me when I left my car there for inspection and told me that my headlights are too dim to pass the Maryland state inspection and it will cost another ~$200 to test the headlights. I agreed to do that test and then they called me saying both my headlight housings need to be replaced, and it will cost another ~$1300!!! I was totally shocked by this unreasonable quote and declined it! Then they told me that can give me some discount like about $50 (can't recall the exact discount amount) and they also said the headlight testing fee is reduced from $200 to $80. While I still declined it and picked up my car back. It is not affordable! For me, the $160 I paid is for nothing.....I still need to find another place to do car inspection.2. the front desk person calling me is very rude. The old person helped me when I delivered my car is nice, but the younger one is super rude when he called me about all these issues. He was super impatient when I try to ask more details. In the very begining, he said he is the manager taking charge and they can not give me any discount on the $1300 quote. Then I said I would rather decline their replacement request and get my car back (and pay $160 for nothing...). After that, the man said he can give me some discount.... (~ $50, as I mentioned above)3. after I paid the $160 inspection fee, I asked for the formal report of my headlight issue - they rudely told me that there is no report on that.....4. I have not got the report form for the failed state vehicle inspection yet, they said they will take a picture and send me by texting later (and they do not support sending inspection form by email....)Service: Vehicle Inspection

Highly recommend Pugh's Garage. Douglas Deputy is the best. I don't generally do computer reviews but Mr. Deputy has the knowledge and skill to repair a car correctly and the results have always been a positive experience for me. Person at front desk is just rude and doesnt seem to care about anything other than going home thats the impression his musty looking self gives me always breathing hard and he sitting down. it seems like he hates his job please fire him and bring in somebody that actually wants to help people.

My car had numerous problems. The one was me hearing a grinding noise, quitting and starting up again virtually right away no matter the speed I was going. The faster I drove the louder it gotYou also need to know that I'm practically deaf even with hearing aids. They found all the issues with the car, called to explain what they found and what it would take to fix including costs for parts broken down for each repair including taxes. They even allow you to pick the ones that are immediate repair.Great way to give customers a chance based on their budget.Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto brake repair, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection

I was very pleased with my experience at Pugh's. I had received a quote from the dealership to fix a leak for $1,400, and they were able to do it for half that. Great customer service and reasonable prices. I took my car to another repair shop for an estimate to get my car through inspection, which turned out to b a ridiculous amount. I went to Pughs for a second opinion and found out that the other shop made up inspection failures. I had Pughs fix what little repairs I needed done & I was very appreciative of their honesty. The prices were reasonable and came with no extra sales pitches. Most of all, I didn't feel taken advantage of because I'm a woman. The garage is directly across from the Metro rail station so that was a bonus as well. I don't mind traveling 40 miles to get my vehicles repaired there...it's worth it!

Made an appointment with the owner Ed to bring my car in at 7:30. Got there at 7:40. Gave them a list of things that needed to be done. On the list were a few concerns and noises and asked them to call me when they checked it out. Did not hear from them, so I called them at 1:45. Of course the person at the desk, Chris said he was just going to call me. He sent me the quote, I called him right back with a couple of questions, then sent the approval back within 30 minutes. At that point is when he let me know that a part I needed wouldn t be in until the next day. (Wondered if the car was checked earlier, if the part would have made it in that day. ) I asked Chris if I could get the car as early as possible as I had to go to work. He said it should be done by 12:00. The next day I called at 10:15 to see if the part had come in. I was informed that it had, but the mechanic had a family issue to attend to and he would TRY to have it done by 4:00.I m sorry is there only one mechanic or did I just draw the one that had a family issue. At this point, I was not going to take the chance of them having my car for a third day. So I went to pick it up.It doesn t take much more to know an incompetent company. Chris had the nerve to tell me there was no charge. Absolutely nothing was done for the day and a half that they had it. No oil change, nothing.I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone. Unless you have all the time in the world to wait until they get their act together. Incompetent and inconsiderate of people losing work. That was the idea of bringing the vehicle in early in the morning.Pathetic Management.Services: Auto maintenance, Oil change

I when to pubgh garage with my bmw they gave me estimate, I thought the estimate was toomuch, I decided to trying another garage, what the gave me as their estimate was two time than what Pugh's garage gave me. The follow morning I called Pugh's garage and told them I will brin back my car for repaired for the amount they gave me. They don't over price the customers.

New to the area where elderly, disabled family member had let maintenance fall way behind - ex: no oil registered on dip stick.Pugh's was recommended.Wonderful to have confidence your money is well spent. Reliable work warranteed, and shop is diligently managed.Have needed diagnostics, timing belt, sensor replacements, injectors, battery, brakes, tires to catch a 2004 vehicle up to reliable. My engine coils had to be replaced. I called Pugh s at EOD of business on Thursday, they let me drop the car off then. There was good communication on Friday and my car was ready by that afternoon! WOW talk about parts gouging. Stay away. 4 spark plugs cost ?$139.00. $36.00 each. The very same plug comes in 4-packs ranging from $28.09 to $48.00 depending on how you buy them. They bought the single most expensive option they could, one plug at a time. I am a mechanic and have never seen that in 59 years. I guess my wife dropped it and picked it up so they took advantage. Shameful. I have lived here for one year and taken my car and truck there three times because it was convenient and yea I knew I was paying a little more BUT now I know why they always have space available when everyone else is slammed. The only reason I am giving them 2-stars instead of 1 is because they did do the work when they said they would do it. Stay away.Services: Auto engine tuning, Oil change

Ed and Brandon are friendly and helpful. They explain a lot to me what is wrong with my car and how they can fix it. Not pushy at all unlike some of the dealer. Recently they spotted my leaking CV joint and prevented me from breaking it further.

Chris is awesome. He is very helpful when explaining the issues with your vehicle. The mechanics are very thorough. I have been a customer for less than a year but this will be my shop to bring all of my vehicles. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pugh's Garage for your car repairs/services.

Highly recommend this garage. Came here after Midas tried to scam me and I couldn t be happier. Fast, communicative, helpful and a good value! I d definitely recommend this garage.
