Once I had decided between 3 trucks, I found this gem in 2 days, ordered it and it arrived in a week. This isnthe second vehicle i have purchased through CarMax. I was even luckier this time. Happy with the selection. Happy with the process. Did everything online until the truck arrived and signed documents.

I got pre-approved for a decent amount and the car I wanted was in Alabama. Before I paid to get it shipped here, my agent (Kelly) made sure I would be able to get financed for the car once it got here since the shipping fee is non-refundable. I was using my old car as a trade-in as part of my down payment and I got more for my car then I thought I would. I got approved, my car came and the process to pick it up was simple and easy. I had done all my financing and all the hard stuff before my car even came. Once it was ready, I test drove it, signed the papers, and was on my way. Beautiful car buying experience.

First and last experience. It was the worst. I tried for two days now to meet with a sales representative, with no luck. Made an appointment on Monday because no one was available on Sunday due to the wait times. Went in on Monday and my names was no where to be found even after I received a text alert. One representative did assist me half heartedly while he was waiting on his cousin to finish test driving a vehicle. When the cousin came back he abruptly left us without a care in the world. I guess you have to know someone to get quality service at the car maxx in brandywine. No thanks.

It was the best experience we have ever had at a car dealership. They have a very professional set up. We were very impressed with our sales consultant Andre Griffith. Yes, we left with the truck & are very happy with it! Thank you CarMax & Andre!

Dont get the CARMAX Warranty.I bought my truck 3 weeks ago to date. I purchased the carmax warranty to cover truck up until 125k miles. My experience so far has been horrible. When I purchased the truck the key fob was broken so they offered to replace it free of charge and my wind shield had a couple dings.I was told I had to make an appointment over the phone to schedule the maintenance. Easy enough made the appointment for a Tuesday at 1:30. They wont let you make any appointments later than that, cant do it after work. Remember that part.Arrive on Tuesday at 1:30. Key and Window replacement people are running late. Another surprise they don't have mechanics for this in house, so they rely on outside sourcing. No problem I wait. 2 hours later neither has showed up, I have to leave to get kids from bus. Reschedule and take off work again for Thursday (i ask for anything later than 1:30 no can do, policy, also dont work weekends).Arrive on Thursday, window guy runs about an hour late, tells me dings are already filled and shouldnt spread (sounds good no big deal). Key fob still isnt working and lo and behold key guy is going to be running super late and wont make it in time before 3 pm (which he was suppose to be there at 1:30). Reschedule for next Tuesday again this time I ask the key guy come to my home since they are mobile. GREATWaiting at home. You wouldn't believe that the carmax guy didnt show up or call to reschedule the entire day. (at this point im not surprised). I contact CARMAX AGAIN. They call key guy and he says he tried to call but nobody answered and they said they wrote my number down wrong. (doubt) I call carmax and reschedule. I just want a working key fob.Friday, finally the key guy said they will be here at 12:00 pm. No show and its almost 2:00. I contact Carmax. Key guy said they will be here by 3:00 pm. GREAT I JUST WANT A WORKING KEY FOB. I sit here waiting regretting my decision to go with carmax warranty and service options. Will they be here today ? who knows maybe. The service desk ladies seem great, is it their fault they dont have reliable services ? idk. Ive taken off work and sat waiting 4 times so at this point who knows. My recommendation, dont buy the carmax warranty. Get a third party from the manufacturer, at least then you know they have the inhouse mechanics needed.Buying truck was a easy in and out 30 minutes. Sales rep Mike was awesome.Giving one star and will update as the warranty issues arise.

I had a unique & unfortunate situation with a vehicle I purchased. It happens. Not my fault nor Carmax s directly. I most likely will buy again from Carmax in the future. Scott the general manager was extremely helpful, understanding & made it right to the best of his abilities. Integrity is everything. I appreciate the professionalism from him & his staff.

A very smooth initial process being waited on and checking in. The staff was professional and made me aware of the process, and time for how long it may take. Once I was waited on, the staff did a great job explaining the process and my options. I felt very happy and comfortable with my decision, I did not feel any pressure during my time, and I appreciate that.

Disappointed with Carmax: Brandywine Carmax's Betrayal and Botched Repairs Leave My Volvo S60 in ShamblesAs a first-time car buyer, my experience with Carmax has been nothing short of a nightmare. I purchased a Volvo S60 2014 from them, and within 6 months, it's been nothing but trouble. When confronted with persistent check engine light concerns, Carmax conveniently directed me to their "sister shop" for repairs. However, despite their efforts, the check engine light remained on, and the car continued to exhibit problems. Frustrated, I decided to take matters into my own hands and brought my Volvo to an authorized Volvo shop, shelling out $200 for a diagnostic. What I found out was beyond belief. The "repairs" done by Carmax's sister shop were shoddy at best. They discovered a litany of bad repairs including a misaligned crankshaft off by 17%, vvt solenoid appeared twisted setting off an ecm code, a broken timing belt cover, neglected coolant flush, exposed harness with rodent-damaged wires(rats!), and the egregious use of aftermarket parts in my Volvo. To add insult to injury, the estimated cost for rectifying these errors amounts to a staggering $4000. This ordeal has not only depleted my finances but also shattered my trust in Carmax's integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction. Proceed with caution; their promises may be as fleeting as the fleeting reliability of the cars they sell.

My overall experience from test driving the vehicle to paperwork completion was perfect. Nathan LaBorie assisted me the moment I stepped into the Brandywine, MD location. He was very patient, knowledgeable, and efficient. Best experience ever with purchasing a vehicle!

The process time from start to finish was fast. Kennith, my salesperson, was very polite and professional, including the young lady in the business office. However, I did notice that once I got home, the front passenger side of my bumper was not properly attached. I will call CarMax today after church service to try and resolve this matter. My overall experience with CarMax was great!

To buy a car is fine, but just try to get in touch with the service department! Good luck. Voice mail boxes are always full. I need them to honor a repair and can't get in touch with anyone. So I'll drive an hour to schedule an appointment and hope I don't miss a call because I'll have to drive an hour again to see what that have to say.

I sold my old Toyota to Carmax. Carmax takes cars in various conditions; it doesn't have to be resale ready. The process was easy. I took my online quote in to their Business Office. Then a mechanic drove my car and came back with a final offer. In my case, it matched the original offer. I assume if you misrepresent you car's condition, the offer decreases. Pretty easy process. They may low-ball you, but you get to walk out with cash in hand in an hour. The process was good. My only complaint was that I was given a wait time of 20 minutes. It took all of 1.25 hours from start to finish. She should have given a more accurate time estimate.

The wait the second time was extremely long we waited over four hours to see an agent. Even though we were told it would in take 30 minutes to see someone. The first car wasn t the one so we went back and exchange it for another. Extremely happy with this car. The agent once we were waited on was exceptionally nice and dealt with our frustration of waiting so long. Once we started the process it took less than an hour and we are pleased. Although one other agent made a rude comment because we asked a question. he didn t think we heard him. We did tell the manager. But they did not apologize for his statement. Overall the experience was great. I would buy from them again.

Scam offers. Car in immaculate shape and always dealer serviced with only 89k miles. Carmax claims that there is a "whining" in transmission on 2018 Honda Pilot and offered 3k less than online offer. Waste of 3 hours of my time and car was MD Inspected and gone over my dealer 3 days ago. Will be complaining to Carmax Corporate. Don't waste your time... they'll make up imaginary issues to lowball you.

My experience with selecting a vehicle was good. The jury is still out on the quality of the vehicle I selected. I have returned the vehicle several times. Providing a loaner seems to be an issue and does not build confidence for me as the consumer.

Recently my wife and I both purchased vehicles from CarMax and Ricky Jones at Brandywine was a huge help. He was able to answer all of our questions and assist us in finding the right vehicles. I highly recommend Ricky Jones at CarMax Brandywine if you are in need of a new car.

The process of buying the car was seamless. The sales team were very nice. The day after, I unfortunately discovered a HUGE GASH in my tire. The 90 day limited warranty clearly states tires and rims are covered. Kevin, the service manager elected to say that the defect was cosmetic. I couldn t disagree with him more.

***Lengthy Review***We shipped a car, paid the fee and it was a very easy process, the car came got inspected and purchased it when it was ready (about a week and a half wait). Cecil our sales associate was awesome, he took care of us and got us in and out in an hour. If it wasn't for Cecil this would have been a 1 star. The reason for this review is because of the Service Department. I've just purchased a car 3 DAYS ago and noticed a few things that needed to be fixed. I've called 3 times yesterday and left a voicemail but no callback. Today I was able to reach somebody to make an appointment 2 weeks out (i would hope that they take in new customers first to fix any issue within that 30day period to put in a good first impression but they don't), I was told that since it is an electronic issue that they may need to keep it overnight due to their radioguy only being available on certain days. I live an hour away and I asked for a loaner if I'm getting one and I was told that they won't be able to provide me any info until 330-4pm and that I needed to hang around, carmax were willing to pay for uber or lyft but due to how far I live it is almost impossible to get a ride. All I wanted was a reassurance. If they are keeping it that I will be provided a loaner but I just didn't get that and just felt stranded. So we've decided to return the vehicle TODAY. If this is the type of service we're getting now only being 3days in our new vehicle, I just wonder how it is when we're past that 90 day mark. So no thank you Carmax Brandywine.

Got my truck appraised online. I came in and there was no issue getting my offer letter. I walked the lot found a truck I liked tested it out and the rest was history. The no haggle pricing makes the process so much easier an stress free. Mark was our salesman and he was absolutely awesome. He was familiar with the way my pay off worked along with the process to transfer my out of state tag.

I had a great experience selling my car to Carmax. All the agents are very friendly at the Brandywine Maryland location. My transaction was smooth and quick. They were even friendly to my two year old son. Excellent customer service and I will recommend them to all my family and friends.

Everyone was friendly and professional. The amount they offered my on my Van was what I wanted. The whole process took under an hour. I would recommend this to someone selling a care no hassle.

The experience and process of purchasing the car was smooth and easy. However, the process of fulfilling my claim that was submitted within the 90day period has been hellish. My claims advisor is effectively MIA and will not respond to my emails on getting a letter from the mechanic to give to the inspection team. I have called with no response. I have called the service manager at another branch and had them ping the Brandywine location, still no response.I understand there may not be an answer, but staying consistent with update even if there is no update is better than being MIA for months and leaving me on the dark.I am very dissatisfied with this experience and recommend having a manager involved to avoid the year long tag that is most likely inevitable.

I bought a car from carmax on Thursday, engine light came on saturday. Brought my car in on monday night to be serviced tuesday morning. tuesday afternoon I was called saying the engine light was on because the oil filter was loose and the oil was leaking so they did an oil change. I came to pick it up tuesday evening, the engine light was still on. I went inside and talked to the lady who gave me my key and she said the technicians left an hour ago so there s nothing she can do. I had to leave my car there after a conversation with the manager, in which he said he would talk to the technician who worked on my car in the morning and let me know. it is now Thursday night and I haven t been called or reached out to in any way. I have called multiple times over the past two days with no answer or call back. I live in DC and can t just drive by the carmax so now i have to plan a time to go up there just because they didn t fix my car yet told me they did, and won t answer the phone or commune with me about the car I purchased a week go. would never recommend carmax and will definitely in fact tell anyone to never use carmax

Today I traded in my 2016 Honda Civic for a 2022 Chevy Trailblazer. I paid the $99 fee to have the Trailblazer ship to the Brandywine Car Max from Georgia. It took about a week but an agent (Kennith) promptly called me to set up an appointment. Kennith was very friendly and professional on the phone. Mark was the agent who helped me purchase my car. He was fast and efficient. I got to Car Max around noon and left with my new car around 3:30. It was an overall positive experience. One thing to note is if you do the online appraisal, bring it in the store within seven days so they will honor the price, even if you are waiting on the car to ship from elsewhere. I would recommend Car Max to my friends and family and would re-purchse from here again. One other thing was the facility appeared to be very clean. All staff were very friendly.

The process to sell my vehicle was extremely quick! The sale amount was exactly what I was quoted during the virtual appraisal process. I received an equity check in minutes, and payoff to the lender occurred in 2 days. Would definitely recommend Carmax to anyone selling their vehicle!
