Horrible store! Should be shut down immediately!! I was hired as the assistant night manager to assist in the overnight prep to open the store and they fired me because they claimed I had a no call no show ...I was off, showed the assistant CLUB manager my next day to work and when I came in 2 days later they fired me. He called me on my day off around 12 am saying I was supposed to be there, He was short staffed b/c of callouts and wanted to make it my problem, me the hourly worker snd him the overworked Salary employee..they added a day to my schedule in the middle of the week without even letting me know! and expect you to come last minute, in the middle of sleep! Also when hired they didn't tell me that they don't even give 40 hours of work only 34hrs for FULLTIME... how am I supposed to live off of that in this economy as a MANAGER ... .if you get close to 40 hours they'll take a day away from you so you won't hit 40 hours... they pulled me off the floor in 30mins before store opening because i was TRENDING, Not at, trending 45hrs... thats it! And they only reason I had those extra hours is because I had work 2- 13hr shift back to back because of callouts..and that was my reward for my hard work, attempting to help.. smmfh.. it's a terrible place to work!!!!

I've delivered to a lot of BJ's wholesale but this place has got to be one of the worst. The receiving manager honestly has an attitude the likes I've never experienced before. I can understand the load has collapsed. Two pallets of bottle water, which it is not our responsibility to restack. I advised the receiver to reject the load, so I could depart. He decided to except the load but kept me in the dock for over 5 plus hours. My dispatching manager repeatedly tried making contact with the store and they would acknowledge or take the call.I want everyone to know I maintained the professional bearing I acquired during 25 years of military service. In this day and age it does no good to lose your composer with individuals like this. So be advised get ready for a long unload if this individual is working the dock and having a bad day...If I could give them negative stars they'd definitely be getting 5 instead I'll give this place an F minus grade...Horrible receiver running this place...

Employees seem to have their customer service game in order. The manager however DOES NOT. Would not price match what item was scanning for in the price check portion of BJ's app.

Been a member of BJs for over 10 years. Some of the employees and managements at the Bowie location are so unpleasant and difficult to speak with especially at the customer service desk and Managers are even worst. They have the worst attitude. I guess that is the culture at this branch.

Three issues. 1. Sale items are always out of stock . 2. And they're always moving items around with no warning. 3. Cashier/Manager lady a bit too aggressive for my taste. Lady tried to reprimand me for looking at eyeglass frames. Apparently, you're not allowed to enter area unless area is manned......who knew without signage or some sort of obstacle indicating so. They need to give that manager/cashier woman (seniorish lady, 5'4" ish, always walking around with a walkie talkie) a class on etiquette as well as a chill pill. Her attitude doesn't match one of someone fit to deal with the public or lead a team of turtles, much less people.

Simply disgusting. The picture attached is from this Bowie location on 6/25/22. I normally purchase all of our food in bulk at this location but the entire selection of meat was either moldy as pictured or contained a suspiciously high amount of moisture in the packaging. There were no signs alerting customers to the conditions of the food, allowing an extreme health risk. This is totally unacceptable for any store, much less a company that requires a membership to shop.Do not trust any refrigerated or frozen products here!

Conveniently located off I50 and exit 13a, pass Toyota of Bowie, various restaurants and shops, is this location. It's tucked away and not easy to see but worth the experience. They is plenty of parking, the store is configured differently so don't be surprised to discover your favorite items in a different location. That's the one difference from the other BJ's. Also you may find items here that are not available at the other stores. The gas station is separate, service is quick, prices are competitive and lines move quickly.

I love this location. Easy to zip in and out for just a few things or a full grocery list. Not usually much of a crowd when I go so I sometimes stop for something quick easier than going to a regular grocery store. Lots of items that other warehouse clubs don't have.

Nice clean lots of products. Self checkout needs a little more attention. Can be crowded.

Not quite like Costco, smell when coming in the door. Freezers empty, not very organized.Cons: you can scan and shop so check out can be quick, you can order online and pick up.

The no neck old lady who works the door is rude. Non stop attitude for no reason. Let folks with a few items walk to the front of the line to review their receipts so they didn't have to wait. I had 3 items and still waited appropriately. Then while people complained decided to have even more of an attitude. Now because she can't use her scanner , I'm holding my receipt too high for her. She says she's not 6 ft. I'm 5'5 no one was holding anything too high. You stink at your job and need to stay out of customer service. Horrible experiences with her.

I went to BJs for water only, but the cart was full of other stuff. I was having trouble ringing up my stuff, the lady didn't want to help me , so here comes Ms. Denise my great helper. This lady embodies helpfulness and customer service and satisfaction. I love her spirit. Thank you for hiring her, she needs a raise just on helpfulness alone.

Ordered deli catering for a baby shower with a pick up time at 9 am. Ordered five days in advance and received a confirmation email for my order. Get there at 9 am for pick up and they claimed they never received my order and just stared at me like they couldn t help me. Had to get management involved, and still they asked me to come back in a few hours. I already drove 30 min there and had the party in a few hours, I didn t have time. Right Now I ve been sitting outside the deli for an hour and half and still don t have my order. Never order catering from here, or call and make sure they received the order.

Sorry BJs but this family reunion dinner was a disappointment. The Waitres tried her best to work with being one deep, serving 28 family members. Food cold, meat under cook, limited drinks. Disappointment for my family reunion.and work of obe

Store has good deals and selection. HOWEVER, there are always glitches that mess up and waste time. If you order online for pickup, their "shoppers" are LAZY and make no effort to find what you've ordered. Multiple times I've ordered for pickup and multiple things on my order have been "out of stock"... and I walk into the store and there are stacks of them available. Gas station frequently has multiple pumps out of service. If you forget or lose your card, it doesn't matter that you have the app, your member # and ID... you have to go INTO THE STORE to get a new copy of your card (after waiting 15 minutes in the customer service line) and then get back into their loooong gas line. Coupons sometimes don't load and you have to go to customer service for refunds. So, overall, I'm only moderately satisfied with this BJs. I don't know if other locations are better.

Good gas prices but always seems like half the pumps are down or the gas filters are clogged and pumping slow. The one time I tried to get propane filled here I waited 10 minutes for an associate only to be told it would be a 30 minute wait...what a waste of time, not worth the savings.

I am a longtime Costco member who wanted to see what BJs was about. I went with my sister and I was not impressed.First let me say that the only reason I am not giving one star is because the employees at the Bowie BJs were very nice. Beyond that though I would never go back and recommend others find some other warehouse store.I'll be brief with my criticisms:- One of the worst things is that there were constant announcements over the PA that started with a loud tone. Absolutely horrible experience. It was like I was getting thumped on the head each time the tone occurred and it couldn't have been louder. Reminded me of K-Mart in 1981 or something.- Although there was probably a bigger variety of products, the prices definitely weren't better than Costco's and the there weren't as many organic options. Lots of the products were the exact same. Best thing I can say is that they have a much larger selection of cat products.- A huge line for the registers that almost reached the back of the store. When we finally reached the front, we elected for self checkout. One of the worst self-checkout experiences I have ever had. The system stopped for "customer assistance" 4 times during our checkout. So we had to stand there and wait for someone to come over and scan their card for absolutely no reason (The rep said there wasn't any actual reason for it.) No wonder the lines were so long.- Then the line to leave the store was long and slow with one person carefully checking each receipt. This happens at Costco too, but it seems to go much faster. My recommendation is to avoid this store. People in Bowie and Crofton have other choices besides this dimly lit, slow moving store.

Service levels have continued to drop at this location. Today I left a cart of items at the checkout because the cashier walked off without saying a word. Another cashier asked me if I knew where she went and then paged her, to no avail. The lines at this particular location are longer than any other place I shop. I ve really tried hard to keep my business local but they are making it very difficult.Costco nearby continues to do a better job with shorter lines and more attentive cashiers. I attempted to call and speak to a manager to directly address my concern, however after 10 minutes on hold I just decided to give up.I am working extremely hard to gain the benefits of this costly membership, only to be forced to leave and shop elsewhere.I noticed a reduction in staff. It begs the question, is staff reduced because it a lack of business or is business suffering die to a lack of staff? Shelves are not very full and I see NO ONE cleaning.I m rambling on, shop elsewhere!

I absolutely will not be renewing membership here. Tired of being bombarded by sales reps walking the store trying to sell home improvement services, energy, etc. As if shoppers don't have enough to worry about with inflation and increasing food prices. Do better BJ's!!!

Some good values here, esp if you can use their coupons. Unlike some wholesale clubs BJs accepts manufacturer's coupons as well, even if you use a BJs coupon. If you can buy in bulk obviously you can save money.Gasoline is usually at least $0.10/gal less than retail but the line to get to pumps is sometimes daunting.

July 19th 7pm. Terrible customer service from the person viewing the receipt to the front counter. Stood there for 10 min because I needed somone to help get this 108 large long rug so I can buy it. Noone at the customer service counter. Someone said she'll be right back. Never came. Finally the lady behind the cage just stares at me and she said there won't be noone at the counter for at least 30 min. I said "well thanks for letting me know after 10 min or more of waiting" I ask is there somone to help get the rug down and put in my car. She said "no " wooow really. Poorest customer service at this Bowie location. I'll visit the one in Pasadena, MD way better and I rather give my money to a better store anyways.

Very rude staff working at this location. Do not recommend at all. Had a staff member rudely argue with me over a membership discount I was supposed to receive. The staff member literally argued back and forth with me and got aggressively rude with me when I was in the right. Always have an issue at this location and even had the rude staff member tell me Go to another BJ s . The one in Columbia is much better.

I wish it was easier to shop at this store. The checkout lines are ridiculously long and then you have to wait in line again to have your receipt "checked" in order to leave the store. And why is the store still requiring masks for all customers when Maryland ended the mask mandate due to the evidence the COVID vaccine is highly effective?

We are current members at BJ's and has been for many years. On Friday 2-26-21 Approximately 3:45pm my husband and I went shopping at BJ's in Bowie Maryland. We paid for our items, received our receipts in our hand. We gave our receipts to the employee at the door who checks receipts. The door employee told us he has a concern with one of the items in our cart. I told him to look and read the receipts. He then told us to step aside he needs to call for a manager. The manager took a long time to respond. I went to the Service Cashier Desk. I saw the General Manager on the phone, when his call ended. I informed the manager that we made purchases and have all our receipts and that my husband and I are being detained and delayed for no apparent reason. We have receipts for all our items. The General Manager and the employee did not understand or recognize new items in their store nor did they understand how to read and have knowledge of understanding their own receipts. We were delayed Approximately 30 minutes after we were done shopping. The manager and the staff were not knowledgeable on their own store products. Shame on you BJ'S!! My husband and I are Senior Citizen and we don't want to be standing around in nobody's store unnecessarily with Covid-19 still around.

I try to be understanding when I get delivery/curbside pickup and the quality is not what I would choose for myself, but today, three items I received were not in consumable condition (gray meat, pierced packaging and rotten fruit).I will try and be generous enough to assume that they were missed by whomever pulled them for my order, but after calling the store and the corporate line and being told that the only way to resolve this issue is to come into the store and return the items in person, I am extremely unhappy with that option. The customer service representative demanded that I explain to him why I couldn t come into the store, and made it personal by saying that he still has to work as an immunocompromised person. It shouldn t be on either of us to divulge that information. The fact is that I never would have ordered curbside if I knew I would need to drive home and back to the store to return spoiled items.
