One place where the reviews are well earned. JR offered stellar service and returned my car to me as new! He was able to work with Geico to get me good quality parts, and the cost to myself was extremely reasonable - JR went a far as to install a new windshield washer tank at no additional charge to me, despite insurance only paying for a used one, and sent me updates all the way. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough.

JR and his wife were so kind! They took care of my car and made sure I was getting the best deal. When I came in to pick up my car after the repair, we had a very nice conversation, and I learned a little about both of them. Such nice people. I will continue to come to their shop for my car related needs

JR and his wife are amazing people. I can see why they have a five start rating. They were very professional and courteous. Very sweet people.I showed up for my appointment and they were ready and waiting for me. I was in a difficult spot and JR really went out of his way for me.The work was impeccable. I couldn't even see the damage from before and their price was better than 3 other shops.I can't recommend this shop highly enough.Services: Painting, Body & Trim, Welding

This is an update from my review in 2017. I still go to JR and receive the best service. If you need help finding the place see the photos, turn by the storage off of Parklawn Drive and drive to the top of the hill.I appreciate the easy communication; we text back and forth about what needs to be done and he sends me photos of the parts. He is always helping me save on parts and provide the best recommendations for what needs to be done and what can wait. I just had headlights (including the plastic cover) replaced, new tires, new break pads, rear shoes cleaned, AC condenser replaced and lower control arms replaced. I went for an oil change but knew things were quite right. I'm planning on driving 1,000 miles before end of year and want to feel secure in my vehicle. JR makes all that happen.________________________I've been going to Jr for 4 years. I flipped back and forth using a different shop closer to my office on West Montgomery Ave but when my car was on its last legs I felt more comfortable going to Jr. I was feeling desperate but Jr gave me his honest opinion and said I had wasted money trying to fix my radiator that wasn't fixable. I most recently had a smashed side mirror and Jr got me the best deal to get it replaced and fixed. I feel comfortable going to Jr because of his quality and dedication to me as a customer. He's always willing to send his team to pick me up and drop me off at the White Flint metro.

I went in person to ask general questions about getting work done on my car. Granted I did not have an appointment but was in the area to stop by their office. The two people at the front (one heavy set man by the name of Gerard and the other a woman who I presume was his wife by the same of Maria) were absolutely unprofessional. Rude mannerisms and handled all my questions with lack of professionalism and in a disrespectful manner. I give this place a one star as this was my first and only interaction with the business. If you want to run a successful business you have to make a pleasant and professional first impression. I did NOT get any body/paint work done on my car so I cannot speak to their quality of work. I m assuming with their 5 star track record they must do a decent job, this is why I decided to go to them for business. What I can speak to is how they handle new customers with no previous appointments. If you are a new customer and are looking to get an estimate it should be positioned that one needs an appointment from the beginning. NOT by answering the questions unprofessionally, rude and with lack of interest. If you are looking to come to this location be prepared for this kind of treatment as a first time customer looking for potential servicing.

JR does phenomenon work and was extremely helpful throughout the repair process. His recommendations on which parts should be replaced with factory vs aftermarket was much appreciated and lowered the repair cost. Great service and communication. Highly recommend!!

JR and his team are a pleasure to work with. Through two experiences, the communication has been excellent, the service has been timely, and the workmanship has been spot-on (everything looks as good as new). JR keeps customers updated on the status of their vehicle and makes the process as smooth as possible. Great work from a certified shop that doesn't cut corners on quality.Before the repairs this car had extensive damage to the front and side of the car. JR exposed and showed me underlying damages that I couldn't see that I'm sure would've been covered up by other body shops.. and sadly 2 other shops did in the past.I went to JR because I liked the reviews and I was disappointed with the insurance affiliated body shops I was sent to in the past. not only did the insurance recommended shops do a lousy job but one of the times they ended up damaging things on the car that never even needing repair like.. my leather seats, front rim, and my windshield railing for example. I l was review scrolling and I wasn't sure if the reviews were loaded, but the car was a disaster and the so called "5 star" body shops where the insurance had "on site adjusters" were pathetic so I didn't have anything to loose. I learned quickly that sometimes a one stop shop isn't always the best alternative. You can go to who the insurance sends you too but obviou$$$ly they are sending you there for a reason.?You can choose who you want to do your repairs. I choose JR and yes I would Even for that used GTR I plan to get in the future. Rather somebody hits it. or i want a body kit put on it. I know they can get the job done right not just for my Camry but any class of car I decide to get in the future.JR's Auto body was professional. None of his staff was rude. I didn't feel like I was just another person they could make money off of. They took the time to explain things I didn't understand (even though I didn't ask a lot of questions.)The communication was excellent. calls, emails, updates. Never had to chase anyone down and when I got the car I hardly recognized it. The work they did was great. When I got it back I noticed they even fixed a scratch I caused to my door from a Costco shopping cart.., it wasn't related to the claim or anywhere near the mentioned damages on the claim and they didn't ask me for anything! All businesses are in business to make money but these guys care and are honest and hard working. Another thing I decided to take the car for re-inspection early following the repairs (sorry I'm a skeptic) and the headlights didn't even have to be refocused to specification! everything was mathematically perfect!

JR is a true delight to work with! I brought my car to JR s for the first time after an auto accident. JR handled all the repair details with my insurance company and finished the repairs as quickly as possible and with precision to detail. JR and his wife are both so kind and generous; they went above and beyond in multiple ways to help me throughout the process. Overall a really great experience and I highly recommend them! I will definitely be a repeat customer for auto/body work.

I cannot recommend JR's Auto & Body Center HIGHLY ENOUGH! The service and quality of work was exceptional in every way. Not only is JR highly skilled, efficient, reliable but he offered me a loaner car for free while he repaired the clear coat and fixed the trim on my car. It was an exceptional experience and the prices very reasonable. It is rare you find this level of quality and friendliness.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

JRs Auto Body fully repaired my car and did an outstanding job. They take so much pride in their work that the car was restored to an even better condition than it was than before the accident. JR saved me hundreds of dollars by finding parts and solutions... along the way to this complex repair - and when it was done, he personally dropped it off at my house!!!They are the best of the best using any criteria: Cost, workmanship, customer satisfaction, quality, etc... he even cleaned the car and fixed some minor dings for free!!!I could go on and on - but you should just call JR right now and see for yourself.Services: Painting, Electrical, Body & Trim

JR's Auto & Body really did a good job with fixing my car. I love the way my car came out. The body shop's customer service is very good. The shop kept in touch with me while my car was getting it's make over during the whole time. I really appreciate their excellent customer service and also how beautiful my car came out looking after they were finished. I cannot thank them enough. If you are in need of a reliable and trustworthy body shop, JR is your guy. I was involved in an accident where the other driver was responsible. It was a nightmare of a car accident. After reaching out to all of the body shops near me and realizing that they were booked months out, I finally came across JR s and I am so grateful that I did!!! JR took care of me like I was family without having any relation prior to this. He and his wife are great people and made me feel comfortable and at ease. I explained to him my needs for getting my car repaired as quickly as possible and he delivered ten fold! He called me often, updated me promptly and did such an amazing job with my Infiniti!!! The car looks beautiful and like it did when it was brand new. He went over the options with me and gave me his honest professional opinion for every detail. He even made sure my car was ready before Thanksgiving and I came to get my car (later than their close time) the evening before Thanksgiving. I could not be more pleased. I will surely be going to him for any future body shop needs and recommend him to anyone I know who needs this service. Cannot recommend this business enough.Services: Tires, Painting, Body & Trim

I have been taking my family's cars to JR for over 5 years. I have had major damage due to an accident on ice that required all 4 tires and rims to be replaced and many other things fixed or replaced to another issue that ultimately required an engine to be replaced and everything in between. I joke with JR that I must be his best customer. Every time I have needed work on one of my cars JR will research and try to find the most economical replacement for damaged parts, to letting me know that other parts that have some damage would not necessarily need to be repaired if I needed to save money. I have had occasions where he has found damage not detected by insurance adjusters and has been able to negotiate with them for addition work needed. He has also told me after Jiffy Lube said I needed repairs to my oil pan that there was nothing wrong with it. When I do business with JR, I can honestly say that he treats me as if he is doing work for his own family. JR is by far the best mechanic I have ever used in my 45+ years of driving and owning cars.Services: Exhaust, Tires, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Body & Trim, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

JR came to my rescue when no body shop in Alexandria would fix my car after the insurance company declared it a total loss from an accident, even though the car was in great shape and I was fine with paying for the repairs. I was crushed at the possibility of having to give this car up. The car had belonged to my husband who I lost suddenly in 2021 and whose loss I am still grieving.I called JR s shop after reading rave reviews about him and his shop. He was very moved by my situation and replied Of course! when I asked him if he could help me.Yesterday I picked up the car and I was THRILLED. to see how BEAUTIFULLY he had repaired and cared for my husbands car. It looks wonderful!Not only is the repair perfect but JR had taken care of other things, a leaky tire, a headlight out, even a dying battery in the ignition fob, also a scratch they buffed out on the other side! And the car was washed and waxed and gleaming! My husband would have been so pleased.JR made an extremely emotional and stressful situation for me suddenly seem easy and simple. He worked hard to keep the costs down and communicated with me right away at every decision making level. JR has been taking care of my 2010 Honda CR-V for the last decade. I first used his auto body shop after concrete splashed from a work truck onto my car in NW DC. After that, I was a loyal customer. JR is the most honest mechanic I ve met. He always treats his customers the way he would want to be treated. You would think with all 5 star reviews that they must be fake or maybe JR is paying people to post good reviews. Can they really be that good? YES YES YES. Let me tell you, I am very picky with automotive stuff as I'm a "car guy". This place simply can't be beat. My wife's Cx-9 was hit and the insurance company was giving me the runaround. JR got everything on track. In the end the vehicle was totaled out and we didn't get it repaired but dealing with JR gave me confidence that it would be repaired right if that had been the route. He pointed out many details and explained what his shop would do. He explained paint, frame damage, body work etc. His communication was second to none. Oh, and I felt like he actually cares too. He cared about how my family was doing after the wreck and cared about my efforts with the insurance company by providing free advice and contacts for other business that might be needed. If I'm ever in an auto accident again this is the only place I'll be calling.Service: Body & Trim

JR's just finished work on replacing my front bumper. Beautiful job, and they detailed the inside and outside of my car for free, while they were at it.JR is proactive in his communication, offered a fair price and was a delight to work with through the process. JR'S Auto and Body shop exceeded all my expectations and I didn't even have any going into it! So, my car was hit and run twice in the parking lot where I live. No one took owner ship and the damages were bad. I called insurance and police and my 91 year old mother found JR's. Insurance alloted a certain amount of money and I had my co pay...they concluded through pictures....JR found more damage and got insurance to come out and give more money to repairs!! But the best thing ever was that THEY DETAILED MY CAR!! I was blown away! They cleaned the interior of my car and it was like I drove a brand new car off the lot!! Thank you JR!! JR's does exceptional work. He worked with my insurance to ensure that they covered all the work, including several things that were not in the original estimate from another shop. My insurance at the time was pushing to get my car fixed with used auto parts when it should have been declared TOTALED. JR did not make a penny out of me or my insurance company because he is a GOOD mechanic and a GOOD person. Instead of fixing totaled car and putting the driver at risk, he did what's right without any profit. He is extremely patient, kind, and informative. The headlamp assembly for my BMW 535i had moisture buildup and needed to be replaced. After checking around I discovered that JR was the only one willing to discuss options vs giving he a high quote.He was transparent about the process, sourcing, time and cost. His initial estimate was lower than the price I was quoted by others (significantly lower than the dealership), and in the end he landed up refunding me money from my deposit because he was able to find me additional savings in the part.He is highly responsive, transparent and honest. JR was SUPER helpful to us throughout the process of assessing the damage to our car, even after it was deemed a total loss and hence he didn t get any paid work.Originally our insurance thought the car could be repaired, and based on online reviews we decided to send it to JR. It was absolutely the right decision. He helped us navigate an odd situation where the tow yard was holding our car and not delivering it to the county lot, even when our insurance company was less than helpful over the Thanksgiving weekend. Once we finally located the car and got it to his shop, he and his team did a thorough job to assess the damage and write up a full estimate.Because of his detailed work it ended up pushing the cost of repair over the amount that would incur a total loss. JR didn t try and massage the estimate to get 12k of work, but instead did what was right to ensure we were taken care of, even though it meant his shop didn t get the work. Once the car was deemed a total loss, he was still super nice and allowed my wife and son to say goodbye to the car, and ensured we got the plates and all other items (weather mats, wheel locks, etc.) to make sure we could resell as much as possible and get a refund on our registration.Overall, JR is a great guy who wants to do right by his customers. Should we ever need future repairs to a car, we will be going to JR s hands down.Thanks, JR!

I had my first car accident and expected the process of renewing my car and dealing with insurance to be a NIGHTMARE. It was, for a bit, until I brought my car to JRs. This is a quality business. JR was kind, empathetic, and caring throughout the whole process. He was communicative and answered all my questions. And the best part is he fixed my car fast and it looks BETTER than when I brought it in. And the kicker? He was able to get me $50 off my original quote. Im so glad I stumbled upon this shop just trying to find somewhere near my home with honest service. I read every review and was legitimately concerned they were fake because I have never heard of an auto shop with integrity (seriously). But I was so pleased I couldn t wait to add my review.
